Who are we and what do we do?
We are a collection of fans of the author who brought us all together here on SS - J.K. Rowling! Our fan club's activities include several intelligent discussions about Rowling and the world she has created, as well as many different activities including competitions and games!

I've joined the JKRFC, now what do I do?

Why I Love JKR: Cos without a doubt she is cool. To get so many people interested in her little world, to get so many people reading for fun, and bring attention to so many worthy causes and then balance that with a home life caring after small children, is there anything this woman can't do?!?

Me: I'm from a little town in Nottinghamshire England and work for the Police. I don't have much of an imagination so that is why I love the HP books, it just sets the scene so effortlessly, even someone who is as uncreative as me can get into them.

Me on SS: I'm spending a bit of my time recently at the games section and I am trying to get into the Ministry RP, so if you are bored and see my online, come poke me and I'll RP.

Why I love JKR: Jo is an amazing influence on young children and even adults all over the world. Growing up, I always hated reading and writing; I thought it was boring and dull - much rather be playing games. But then, after reading Harry Potter, and really getting into the storyline - waiting on line at midnight for Book 6 & 7 to be released - there was something in her stories that made reading enjoyable. It made me appreciate books much more... and for that, I have a ton of respect for Jo.

About me: I am from the United States and a graduate student, majoring in Physical Therapy. It can be very interesting and exciting in one moment, while the next is strenuous and frustrating. There are times where it may seem as though I'm not online much, but it's simply because school swallowed me up. But no fear, I will always come back.

On SS: Been active on SS for over a year now, and have loved every moment of it. From being Prefect in the school RP, to Department Head in the Ministry RP, to getting involved in the Fan Clubs ... it's never a dull moment. Why I love JKR: There's so many reasons I can't name them all even if I could. She's just simply amazing. She started out with nothing basically and went on to write this amazing piece of fiction that inspired millions around the orld to make their dreams possible. I can't imagine what she had to go through to get this far, keeping up with her children plus her hectic life.

About me: Nothing really to say. I'm looking for a good college where I can get a degree in graphic design. Making graphics here on SS hsa been a great way to improve my skills. I'm bouncy, I guess you could say. My nickname amonst friends is Spazzzy (long story).

On SS: Well I started back in 2006 (has it really almost been 2 years) For the first few months I was active, getting to kno my amazing friends. Then I lost my password and ouldn't get back on. It was a grueling 6 months or so until I finally remembered it and logged back in to see so many changes. I got back into the hang of things and quickly grew up in ranks. I became active in many fan clubs (ADFC, HEFC ETC) and soon became more than a member. Everyone on SS is like family.

Why I Love JKR: Well, the cliche answer would be because she "created the whole Harry Potter universe and without her we wouldn't be here." However, outside of that, I admire her because she's a leader. She gives girls and women hope that they can do whatever they put their mind to no matter what. She is intelligent and puts a lot of thought into whatever she sets her mind to. She stands up for what she believes in and is not afraid to be different. <333

Reason for JKR love: I love JK Rowling because of the amazing world she lets your imagination wander to. I think it is amazing that you can get somebody to get magnetized that much to a book. The current HP book i was reading at a the time would be like my security blanket.

Why I Love J.K. Rowling: J.K.R. is really fantastic and the best writer I have come across. I love her books and ever since reading the first Harry Potter book I never have been able to let go. My friend at work lent Philosopher's Stone to me a few years ago and I have been hooked ever since. Before Harry Potter, I didn't like reading much, but now, everyday I read, even atleast one page.

About me: I live Down Under (Australia). I love HP. I play a lot of sports and I can't live without my music. Loads more about me. I'm a very interesting person.

On SS: I came a member on SS when I was 12 years old. I've been an active member so far and I plan to. SS is like a home to me.

Why I Love JKR: Harry Potter was a fundamental part of my childhood seeing as I grew up with Harry just as much as Harry, himself, grew up throughout the seven books. Though, I did not have a dark wizard after me, I learned many life lessons though her amazing books over the years, about friendship, love, and bravery, which I feel are three really important aspects to always keep sight of in life. Simply put, this woman is brilliant and has a special place in my heart.

Me: I thrive of off imagination and creativity, which are my two signatures in life. I love art, and in my spare time I draw/paint or sometimes even graphic design. I’m currently in university, studying molecular biology and hoping to become a dentist so run if you don’t want your teeth plucked out. *puts on dentist gloves*

Me on SS: I've been on SS for about over a year now but I mostly stuck to the news section, which is why many people have not seen me around in. Only during the summer of 2010, when I wasn't swamped with work, did I have a chance to finally get to know SS a lot better, including more members, who pushed me to get more involved. And here I am! More addicted than ever before

Random Fact: I took my first steps on an airplane. Not on land, or even water, but a freaking airplane. My mother was not pleased seeing as she was trying to chase me down on a plane.

Ok, this is a little WAY overdue but i'll still post this introduction.

Age/Date Of Birth: I turned 16 this year and i was born on the 16th of March 1994

Why i love JKR: Well... she's created a phenomenon! And, i grew up reading her books. The main reason why i love reading so much is because one of the first books i've read was HP and i loved it, so, 11 years on, i can't get my nose out of a book. She's such an amazing author and the fact that money and fame hasn't gone to her head makes me love her even more. Not only did she let her imagination flow, she captured the hearts of thousands millions of people across the globe. And she does so much for charities and gives a lot of her money away to those in need. I've always admired her and i always will.

Me: Right, this is where i fumble and wonder what to write. Well, you know my name and age. I live in London and i always have. I'm quite short for my age (more like very) but i'm proud of my height and i get offended if someone calls me a midget. Dwarf is fine! I like dancing, more specifically, i like bollywood dancing (sorry, i forgot to mention the fact that i'm Indian) and ballroom dancing. Although, i think i'm better at the ballroom dancing. I tend to write a LOT (as you can probably tell from this what-was-meant-to-be a short introduction)! I currently go to college where i study: Maths, Biology, Chemistry and History. As you can tell, i'm a very science-y person but i love maths and history as well. I want to go to university where i want to study medicine and become a doctor. I think i'll leave it there.

Me on SS: I've joined SS in May 2009 which is nearly a year and a half ago but it seems like i've been on it for so much longer. I love SS! I'm on it practically everyday. Apart from the days when i have an exam the next day. Yes, i am sad, but ah well! I'm just so addicted to it and i tend to post mainly in the School RP, the Ministry RP, WWW and, sometimes, the Fan Clubs and, of course, the news section.

Random fact: I have a lot of weird habits! Sometimes my OCD (yes, i've got OCD and i'm a perfectionist as well) kicks in in the most random-est situation. I listen to music a lot and i sing along as well but i'm not good at singing. Fact! Um... I have really long hair!

Age/Date Of Birth: I'm 15, turning 16 this year. My birthday is the 19th of June, born in the year of the pig (according to the Chinese Zodiac at least)

Why i love JKR: I love JKR because she's an amazing writer. Without her, there would be no Harry Potter series and I, honestly, don't think I could live without it. Her creation of the series was one of the only reasons why I love reading now. Without her I don't think I would enjoy it as much, especially not fantasy books.

Me: Oooh... an About Me section. So as you saw above, my name is Jennifer. I erh... this is hard... I live in NYC, bright lights and all the jazz. I'm Chinese but I can barely read, write or speak it. I hate math and I love English, minus the Huckleberry Finn part. The book is quite boring (sorry!). And my favorite color is green, I enjoy working with little kids, I have one little brat of a sister (but I still love her) and I love to play the flute. I don't like big words because I don't like the dictionary and I love to eaaat! Sugar is the only food I need to survive. So let's just say, I'm almost always hyper. ^^

Me on SS: So... I joined SS in March (I think) 2010. In this time I've made many new friends and I luffers every single one of them. I guess I'm just about the same in real life as I am in SS. I post a lot in Borgin and Burkes and I have my own graphic shop in Madame Malkin's. I also love the Hogwarts RPG and Ministry though I'll admit I do most of my posting in Borgin and Burkes.

Why I love JKR: Cause even though she's become a billionare she's still level headed and cares for her fans. She donates to charity and actually spends time listening to her fans and hearing them out. Plus, without her, they're be no Harry Potter! She's so talented and a great role-model!

Me: Um... Not really sure what to write. Um, I live in Newcastle, England which is in the north, so I'm nearer Scotland than I am to London. I'm a student at a boring secondary school and I hate hate hate maths and english with a passion so no wonder my grades are slipping in them. But I love drama and History, they come naturally to me I guess. I would love to be a fashion designer when I'm older as I love to be creative, use my imagination and design new fashions!

Me on SS: I joined in November 2010 and didn't really get the hang of it at first but as it got to January I started to get the hang of it. I've just finished my first term of the School RPG but hope to be here for many more and much excitment that goes on.

Why I love JKR: JKR is without a doubt my hero. I am just so inspired about how she had so little, and single-handedly came up with the magical world of HP, making her millions. She's one of the reasons I really put my love of writing to use, and I really admire her imaginations and creativity.

Why I love JKR: Jo is an amazing author who has been a part of my life ever since I opened the philosophers stone and read the first word on the very first page. I've loved her ever since and she has inspired me. She is now my favourite author.

Why I Love JKR: well apart from the fact that she created the entire Harry Potter universe, I love that she was so resilient and persistent when she was trying to get the first book published. She was turned down by so many different publishers, but instead of giving up, she believed so strongly that she had something worth publishing that she just carried on trying to get it out there. And now of course I bet those publishers are all kicking themselves.

Me: I'm from this tiny little town in England called Stamford, where I attend Stamford High School for Girls. I enjoy reading, writing, sketching even though I can't sketch and singing even though I can't sing. My favourite type of music is probably sort of alternative/rock music, so I love All Time Low, My Chemical Romance, You Me At Six... stuff like that
