Hehe, sorry but couldn't help but post here at least once

I don't know that much about Japanese music. In fact, I only have a couple of CDs and some random songs, but I do know that I absolutely heart Kanon Wakeshima. She was the one who sang the endings for both seasons of Vampire Knight *coughItotallyjustwatchedtheanimetogettotheendingc ough* and she's absolutely fabulous ^^ I love how she plays the cello and how she puts the sound in her music.

I second Ama's opinion about Kosuke Atari. He's got an amazing voice.

Most of my stuff is the same as Ama's actually. AAA is really good. Upbeat. High and Mighty Color (They did the opening Ichirin no Hana for Bleach) is a good listen as well.

UVERworld and Orange Range are pretty much epic. Every song is amazing. <333 Genjitsu Touhi is one of the best songs on Orange Range's Panic Fancy album, it's right up there with Ikenai Taiyou. And Hyde's Faith album is always good. Made In Heaven is awesome.

Mmm. I love Miyavi. He's amazing.

I sometimes can't resist the JE boys as well. =) I like Arashi, NEWS, and a bit if KAT-TUN (Jin and Kame!)

Oh wow, you like RADWIMPS?! I don't know a lot of people who listen to them but they're AWESOME. I can't post the links here, but for Radwimps starters, you might want to listen to their singles Order-Made, Kanashi, Me Me She, Yushinron, By My Side, Iin Desu Ka?, and a lot more.

One of my old favorites:

Ogata Megumi, renowned singer in her time and also the voice actress for many a young boy. lol She does deep tones very well. She did Haruka, aka Sailor Uranus, but also one of my other favorites, Reiha and her doll Mitsukaze. The latter is very entertaining, especially since when they talk to each other, she's essentially talking to herself. Some of my favorite songs are Traces of Jealousy and I Want to Be the Wind.

Those are all awsome picks. I have been listening to Japense stuff so long I don't even remember when I started lol. I like too much to put into one post but my favorites this week are the Death Note soundtracks and Kiyoharu. I am in love with his song Slow. Oyasumi nasai. Ato de.

I love Korean music but unfortunately there's no Korean thread. : ( I'm learning Korean but I'm not that good yet.

Also, DBSK and Big Bang have both been releasing Japanese stuff. DBSK's "Secret Code" album is pretty decent (Bolero is on it, BEAUTIFUL SONG, and Survivor is as well, and a Japanese version of Mirotic... actually it's better than decent. It's GOOD.), and Big Bang just released a single, Koe Wo Kikasete. It's AMAZING, I love it. The video is cute too, if you haven't heard the song or seen the video, go Youtube it. LOOOOOTS of starey eyes from T.O.P., who is... guuuuh. <3

Anyone who likes JRock should give a listen to One Ok Rock and abingdon boys school. Both bands have quite a catalogue out already; One Ok Rock's "Naihi Shinsho" is really really good (the video can be a bit creepy to some cos the zombie-esque dancing, but it's a great song), as is Et Cetera, Hitsuzen Maker, Viva Violent Fellow... actually it's all good. Yes. They had an American guitarist named Alex but I think he's left the band, sadly.

abingdon boys school is a band made up of older guys, I think the singer is in his 40s? But they're really amazing. HOWLING -Inch Up- is great, as are Strength and Freedom. I think they're due to release something new soon, too!

And if you're into JPop, Yamashita Tomohisa (aka Yamapi, Ama's favourite person ever) just released a little single album thinger. The songs are REALLY GOOD. Loveless is heaaaartwrenching and his voice is lovely. Also, Takizawa Hideaki, Tackey from Tackey & Tsubasa (They did the One Day, One Dream theme for InuYasha), just put out a single a few months ago that has the song he did as the opening for Orthros no Inu (GREAT DORAMA. EYE CANDY LEFT AND RIGHT.) called Hikari Hitotsu. The song appeals to me a lot. >.> I have a thing for the use of violins in songs, I think, cos I really loved Truth by Arashi too.

I think 90%, if not all, of the songs I mentioned have music videos, but I don't wanna step on toes and link to them just in case... Also, long post is LONG.

For Kpop, I love H.O.T. (I know, they're old >.>), Super Junior, DBSK (who probably will be breaking up soon : ( ), SNSD, BIG BANG, SHINee, MBLAQ, 4MINUTE, etc.

I don't know if you've seen it but iTunes a few months ago got JYPE music (but no JYP himself), BoA, SS501, and Epik High. I won't be impressed unless they get all of SME and YGE off of JPop, they categorize Korean music as Japanese, even though Super Junior hasn't officially debuted in Japan (unless you count Rock & Go). So that's an option instead of buying it through Yesasia, which is what I usually do for Asian stuff.

For Jpop, I like the older stuff...

I'm kinda sad that with most of my Japanese links, Youtube removes them. X(

I've never listened to H.O.T, which means I'll be Youtubing stuff. I think Shim Changmin mentioned them once, in their little mini-drama thing... x____x I dunno though. *makes stuff up* I haven't heard 4MINUTE either, but have you tried B2ST, aka BEAST? They debuted at the same time as MBLAQ, and they're pretty cutesy. I like their sound. And you have great taste in KPop. I like pretty much everyone you mentioned, they're all on my frequent play list.

Heh. It's sad that iTunes picked up Epik High so recently and now they won't be releasing anything new for another two years, or even performing. =[ And the whole DBSK dramazzz makes me sad. I pretend it's not happening. *sticks fingers in ears and yells* If they leave SME they should come here and make music, Yoochun lived here for a while after all. There's bound to be a market for them here somewhere.

For some reason, a lot of people are like, completely unable to tell the difference between Korean and Japanese music. My coworker catches me listening to it and goes "Oh, listening to that JPop again, are you?" and when I say that no, I'm not, it's KPop, he goes "EH. EH. Same difference." The fact that they're entirely different languages might... mean there's a biiiiig difference there. We should write to iTunes and tell them that, because some people might actually find it offensive that all their music is being misclassified.

Super Junior has a Japanese unit, don't they? There's SO MANY of them, it's hard to keep track. It's... Trot, isn't it? (I think it is cos I totally thought it was Super Junior Trout when I first heard it said and I was like HUUUUUH?) I'm still waiting on K.R.Y to release stuff for me. >.> Although I'll take SuJu M anyday.

And yeah. Youtube likes to take stuff down... Big Bang has an official channel for themselves though, and there's a YG channel as well. I think all the Japanese/Korean/Chinese entertainment agencies should do that. FREE PUBLICITY, MAN. >:] I've got the Korean version of DBSK's "Rising Sun" uploaded on my channel though, and it's been there for a while. I think they don't like me.

Hi I'm Ami~ I'm a big fan of Japanese too (and Korean I see some fans in this post!!!) so let me share some of my likes!

Japanese artists I like are: Ayumi Hamasaki, Ami Suzuki, Alan, Namie Amuro, Maki Goto, Koda Kumi, Utada, Uverworld, Gackt, AAA, NEWS, Arashi, and that's all I can remember~

The Koreans are: Wonder Girls, SHINee, 4MINUTE, Girls' Generation, Big Bang, 2PM, B2ST, IU, Brown Eyed Girls, After School, Son Dambi, Hyori Lee, Epik High, Rain, Jewelry, DBSK, and some Super Junior.

Did you guys hear about BoA's album being canceled? I think she needs to take a break her stuff sounds really boring lately, so maybe after a break she will be better! ^^

Also, Alan's new album "My Life" is pretty boring too her stuff is sounding all the same... That's too bad she has a pretty voice and a pretty face.

I'm really excited for Ayumi's winter single ^^ Her summer single was amazing~ I'm also looking forward to Namie's album called PAST<FUTURE, I think ~n.n~

Super Junior Trot is Korean, Amy. They don't have a Japanese unit. That I know of. I could be wrong and just never ever heard of them. It's been forever since I last posted so my phases have come and gone. lol Yes, I go through phases. I have my JPOP phases and then KPOP. In Japanese Music I've been listening to Koda Kumi, Kobukuro (ballad-pop duo), Mami Kawada and Naomile's recent Christmas album. XD

I DO wonder...if we can ever get a Korean forum running. I'd volunteer but I think...we need someone who is actually fluent in Korean and I am, by all means, not fluent. I only know very very very basic stuff. hehe. G__G Self-taught too.

Does anyone besides me pay attention to Sid? One of my kohais just introduced the singer to me. I'm sorry everyone but Tohoshinki isn't going to be around for a while, but on the brightside, CN Blue, 4Minute, and BIG BANG are doing a lot of work in Japan so hopefully the Japanese fans won't be quite as upset.
