Welcome to another wonderful winter at Hogwarts, Willy thought as he sat down at the Slytherin table for breakfast. Too bad Christmas had already passed... he could use a break from all the homework the professors were piling on. Seriously, you'd think that even they wouldn't want to jump back into grading just after the holiday season. And all he wanted to do was go play outside in the snow.
No such luck though, no such luck. Willy sighed into his oatmeal and picked up the sugar bowl to dump some more in. He'd be needing some fuel for all the essays he had to write. Life as a second-year was hard, man!

Cece made her way into the Great Hall with her bag slung over her shoulder. Looking up and down the Slytherin table she found a familiar face. Good, she wouldn't have to eat breakfast alone today. "You know sugar is bad for you," she told Willy as she sat across from him. "You should put fruit in your oatmeal. That will make it taste better than sugar will." And it was better for him too. Grabbing the orange juice she poured herself a large glass of it. She then put some fresh fruit and toast on her plate.
See Willy, this is what you should be eating for breakfast. Fruit, and lots of it.

His FACE was on fire!
Which was ironic, considering the injury was due to having his face scraped against the frozen lake. Ice skating on one's hands was duly noted as being incredible fun, until one fell forward. Entering the Great Hall, expression twisted in a look of pain, perhaps having to do with the giant red mark on the right side of his face, Cyryl sighed and flopped into a seat at some random table. Could've been the eagle's. Could've been the puff's. It didn't matter.
What mattered was the giant handful of bacon he was piling on his plate. Bacoooon.

Could the Headmistress flap her lips anymore? Couldn't she see that there was one VERY bored third year sitting at the Gryffindor house table tapping his wand against the wood in a feeble attempt to entertain himself.
Airey's eyes flicked around the room, going left then right then up then down and essentially all over the place as he tried to find something to catch his attention. Why had his parents even bothered sending him back here after being suspended last term? It was BOOOOOOOOOORING...
Oh look! There was Cyryl!
Sneaking out of his seat and crawling on the ground underneath it to be all stealth-like, he made his way to the Ravenclaw and tugged on his mate's pant leg. "PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSST!"

Seren was ssstttaarrrrvvving. Go figure staying up aaaaaaaaaaaaallllll night did strange things to your appetite.
Adjusting her hat and tie, she entered the Great Hall. The sky looked particularly preeeetttyyyy she noticed, staring up at the enchanted ceiling. Snow!
Not wanting to sit on her own, because that was borrrrring, Seren joined the group that had formed at the Slytherin table. She'd try her hardest not to be tempted to fllliiiinngg the food in anybodies face, though if she did, she'd do her best not to get caught... again. Detention was such a waste of time, and there was still study and exploring to be done. "Fruit goes mushy... so sugar is best," Seren added after Cece. "... it doesn't hurt to have sugar, just don't get fat."

Pfffffffffffft sugar? BAD for him? But it tasted so good and everyone loved it and it gave you ENERGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Sugar's not bad for you," Willy practically stuck his tongue out at the younger blonde who'd sat down opposite him. "Fruit's BAD for you. It makes you poop a lot."
And yes, he did just say poop at breakfast. What was she gonna do about it?
HEY LOOK, IT'S SEREN BENTLEY! Willy was quickly distracted from thoughts of poop as he spooned more oatmeal in his face. His spoon hung loosely from his hand as he watched the Claw sit down too. "Hey Seren, wassup?" he did what he thought was a cool-man nod to the other second year and in the process almost knocked himself in the face with his spoon. "You do that DADA essay yet?"

Leo rolled out of bed and got dressed half-asleep which was why he didn't see or take note of the fact that his robes were put on backwards or that his tie had a big green stain on it.
Walking into the Great Hall for breakfast he stopped upon entering, clipping with his eyes until he could focus on what he was actually seeing. One table with Seren, Willy and Cece and one table with Airey and Cyryl. It was a dead heat on which table was worse.
Reluctantly Leo walked over and sat down at Cyryl's and Airey's table but at the far end. As far away from them as he could get. Pulling the youghurt and cereal bowls towards him he shuffled on some youghurt and cereal unto his plate. There was no way in a million unicorn years that he willing ate oatmeal if he could help it.

Shoving another piece of bacon in his mouth, Cyryl winced, suddenly chewing in slow-mo. The crunchy noise echoed in his ears. Merlin he hated that. He couldn't eat, breathe, or even SEE without his face hurting. He was going to DIIIEEEE! Looking around for Gibby, since he was pretty sure the healer would write home to his parents again about the considerable amount of time he spent in there, he needed his friend to heal him! Like all the other times! LIKE RIGHT NOW!

"Duuuuuuuuuuuuude! You're back!" He whispered!yelled, looking under the table to Airey, a giant grin appearing on his face. Though he was momentarily distracted when a certain Ravenclaw passing by them. Hehe. "Hey LEOBALD!" Snort. "What're you doing way over there?!"

Josephina was NOT happy to be back at school this January. Because that meant one thing was coming closer - her OWLs. And if Leanne's perfect scores weren't bad enough pressure, then she didn't know what was. Carrying a large armful of her books with her - because she never knew when she would have a spare second to study and she needed all the time she could - she forced her way through the doors of the Great Hall.
Unable to see which way was the Puffer table, she walked toward the first available seat that she was able to see and let her books crash down on the table as she slid onto the bench. What was up with all the commotion? "To be young and carefree again..." the fifth year murmured, rolling her eyes at the first and second years, as she propped opened the first book on the stack and began to read while she munched on a bacon strip.

Airey's blue eyes twinkled with mischief for a moment before he tugged on Cyryl's pant leg again to help pull him up from the ground. Operation ninja had been a success as he had made it all the way from the Gryffindor table to this one without being noticed OR scolded by any party pooping professors.
"Yeah, they let me back in," he smirked as he plopped himself down beside his mate. "Only I have to participate in the Hogwarts Chorus now. Something about learning how to give back to the school or some rubbish." Wasn't his existence enough? "At least I get to have one of those big toads." Because everyone knew that the Hogwarts Chorus was for nerds and lame people who were just in denial about not being sirens.
Airey didn't know the other boy that had sat down at the table away from everyone else. What a weirdo...sitting all the way down there. Cyryl seemed to know who he was, so he couldn't be all that lame.

Stupid Hufflepuff! Cassandra Trelawney thought as she made her way to the Slytherin Table, clutching her strangely unbound books closely to her chest. She sat at the table and looked at her books... they were loose, her NEW BOOKS! Stupid Hufflepuff bumping into her, making her drop them and break the binding.

But she was not complaining, no she was not. Hogwarts was a thousand times better than the alternative, so Ivy was rather content. She would just ignore the loud, young students and observe the others. People watching was a favorite pass-time of hers.
Walking into the Great Hall, Ivy quietly lugged her messenger bag across the room and sat at the empty end of the Ravenclaw table. She helped herself to a piece of toast and some fruit as she watched some of the quieter students. A Hufflepuff talking to herself, a young Slytherin who looked rather upset, and the blonde Ravenclaw. She seemed normal. As normal as one could be in this castle.

Snagging herself a bowl of porridge and sprinkling a generous serving of sugar on top, Seren cast a quick glance around the hall and noticed Leo-baldy and Airey were here. Airey was no doubt up to something... perhaps they'd do detention again sometime soon? Not that she deserved it, but it was bound to happen. Meaaaanyyyy teachers.
Turning her gaze back to her companions, Seren couldn't help but let out a snort. Oh deaaarrr Willy. "N'much, yourself?" she asked in return, though she didn't nod, owing to the fact she wanted to avoid headbutting her spoon. Speaking of... Seren spoooooned a large BLOB of the stuff into her mouth. Nomnomnom.
Did she dooooo the essay yet? Oh puuhhleaaazzzee. "I did it the day it was assigned." Duuuuuuuurrr. Why leave things any later than they need to be? Huh?

Sally was not going to waste her last year here reading in huge, old, smelly books. The Slytherin had an impressive tower of pancakes on her plate, decorated with strawberries, honey and blueberries. With a big grin on her face, she looked up to see the Slytherin kiddos discussing… something. One of which was pretty bummed and taking solace in her books. Ugh, BOOKS! Again. It didn't take a ravenclaw to know that sitting here with her masterpiece of pancake was not safe. Eying the kiddos cautiously, Sally cradled her tower and veeeeery gingerly got up heading toward a quieter, safer student.

... "Ivy! Look what I--" Foolishly picking up her pace, she caused the tower of pancakes to swaaaaay dangerously, "Uh oh!" In an attempt to save it, Sally started doing this goofy leg dance to try and balance the one-foot-pancake-tower, to the riiiight then to the leeeft, then baaaack and forwaaaa-"Whaoo.." Alas! Half of the pancakes smacked down on the floor just behind the Ravenclaw's bench. The Slytherin stood there staring down... and feeling something cold (moving even!) on top of her head. She touched it with a frown-- oh! Some were on her too. Oh bloody hell!
Missing dinner the night before to 'study' with a rather attractive Hufflepuff sixth year might not have been Armen Recard's best decision. She was pretty, a good kisser really, but was awful at Runes--dreadful really. Plus now he was starving.
The seventh year had made his way down from the Ravenclaw Common Room to the Great Hall, thinking of food the whole way. When he entered the room he looked around at who was already present. His glance obviously went first to the Claw table and saw Ivy sitting there with their fellow seventh year, although a Snake, Sally. He decided he would sit with them since he didn't want to mess with littles while he was this hungry this early in the morning.
As he walked over there he passed two younger Claws and...WAIT WAS THAT--?
"Hey 'Zinski, don't bother Baldy." he said with a slight push to the younger boy's shoulder. It wasn't nice really not that Armen cared much he just wanted the boy to stay in line. Which reminded him. "Don't let this kid get you into too much trouble." the seventh year gestured at Flamsteed.
And without another word he walked off to sit with the girls in his year.
"You dropped something Sally." He said as she stepped over the pancakes on the floor and took a seat across from Ivy. "And you've got some in your hair." He pulled out his wand and gave a quick nonverbal cleaning charm towards her hair. There, all clean now he wanted FOOD!
He piled on a few eggs, hasbrowns, a mountain of bacon, and a banana onto his plate and began to quickly stuff his face.
Oh but he was being rude. "'Ow are you laaaadies?" he said through a mouth full of potatoes.

Her concentration broke and Ivy turned to see who it was. Ah... None other than Sally Slytherin... wobbling around with her pile of pancakes. "Hi..." she said hesitantly. If that girl got syrup on her, she wouldn't live to see the next class period. Luckily, they all ended up on the floor. And in her hair.
Oh, but then there was Armen to the rescue. Ivy silently watched as the boy cleaned up the girls' hair and then proceeded to stuff his face with all the food on the table. And then he spoke with his mouth full. Lovely. "Disgusted," she muttered quietly, fully intending for Armen to hear it. She didn't want to see what he was eating for breakfast after it was already in his mouth, thanks.

"Thanks! I was aiming for at least two foot high, without magic." BEAM. "Physics. We need to learn some of that here, I'd like that. It's Muggle's way of building things, relying on numbers and made-up theories that they convince themselves they make sense." Having cleaned the floor, the Slytherin plopped down next to Ivy, what was left of her breakfast perched up on her plate.
Unfazed by Ivy's 'disgusted' answer, Sally answered Arment cheerfully, "I'm exhausted. I can't be bothered reading more on anything. Can't we just graduate with what we have learned so far? I think it's quite sufficient." Besides, her dad would help her some. He was pretty good at everything. She shoved a big bite of pancakes into her mouth, "How're you?" Nomnomnomnom. Oh more honey please! She streeeetched over to reach the small honey pot.

Feeling a push on his shoulder, Cyryl flopped back down on his seat, glancing back whoever did it with a confused and slightly irked expression on his face. Or it could've just been pain, who knows. Oh. Armen. "Yea, yea." he mumbled with a grin, waving his hand at the older Ravenclaw. Be good in school, don't pick on people, all that jazz. Speaking of Airey...
Did he just say something about what he thought he just heard?
"Wait, they stuck you in the chorus? Like, with...the chorus people?" Squint.
Leo winced at the sound of his name being loudly shouted over what felt like the whole hall by none other than Cyryl when it in fact was just across the table. Since the option of hiding and ignoring was out of the question Leo turned to Cyryl mumbling. "I wanted to eat alone. What is wrong with that?"
He turned his attention to his cereal hearing how Armen showed up and demanded that Cyryl let him be. Leo shot the seventh year a grateful look as he passed together with a quiet. "Thanks!"
Leo had just plucked some cereal into his mouth when he heard and felt how something hot collided with the back of his robes. Quickly turning around he looked down in astonishment at the mountain of pancakes that Sally Botros had dropped on the floor. In a quiet tone he called out to her. "Aren't you going to eat those pancakes?"

Cassandra began trying to reassemble the books hoping the spell she was told to use would keep them together. She lifted her left hand and tried casting the spell, but the papers went flying everywhere. "MERLIN'S PANTS!" She yelled annoyed. She was going to march STRAIGHT to her head of house, and if Branxton wouldn't do anything, she'd go to the headmistress. She went around the table and began picking up papers.

Airey's brow furrowed more and his fingers began to fidget inside his robes pockets. "I t-t-t-told you not t-t-t-to saying anyth-th-th-thing," he hissed as his stutter slipped back into his speech. It tended to do that when he was upset. Or overly excited. Harder to concentrate on his words when he was like that. "B-b-b-but yeah, they did." Breathe. Calming down now. Breathe.
He saw that look, older BORING person. Not to mention that Airey wasn't deaf, so he totally heard it too. He made a face as the older Ravenclaw walked away - including some tongue sticking out and eye crossing. "Don't let this kid get you into too much trouble," he mimicked for Cyryl's amusement, fluttering his hands as if pretending to be a bird. Ravenclaw. Bird brain. It made sense.
Oh hey, look at that. This Leobald kid didn't mind being called Baldy. Even had said thanks to the party pooper seventh year. "It's weird," he pointed out via thrusting his fork with a sausage skewered on it. "Coming to the social hub of Hogwarts but then wanting to sit alone." See? Weird.
Just as he was about to stuff his sausage in his mouth, it fell off his fork and went rolling a little ways on the ground. Noooooooo! Not his precious sausage! Leaping off the bench where he sat, he followed the rolling sausage until it rolled right on top of a piece of parchment...with words on it. Squuuuuuuuint. "Someone lose their homework?"
And if no one claimed it he was going to use it for himself. Looked legit enough to pass as his Potions essay.

The seventh year had made his way down from the Ravenclaw Common Room to the Great Hall, thinking of food the whole way. When he entered the room he looked around at who was already present. His glance obviously went first to the Claw table and saw Ivy sitting there with their fellow seventh year, although a Snake, Sally. As he walked over there he passed two younger Claws and...WAIT WAS THAT--?
"Hey 'Zinski, don't bother Baldy." he said with a slight push to the younger boy's shoulder. It wasn't nice really not that Armen cared much he just wanted the boy to stay in line. Which reminded him. "Don't let this kid get you into too much trouble." the seventh year gestured at Flamsteed.
And without another word he walked off to sit with the girls in his year.
"You dropped something Sally." He said as she stepped over the pancakes on the floor and took a seat across from Ivy. "And you've got some in your hair." He pulled out his wand and gave a quick nonverbal cleaning charm towards her hair. There, all clean now he wanted FOOD!
He piled on a few eggs, hasbrowns, a mountain of bacon, and a banana onto his plate and began to quickly stuff his face.
Oh but he was being rude. "'Ow are you laaaadies?" he said through a mouth full of potatoes.
Josephina sat quietly munching on her potatoes and reading, trying hard to ignore the happenings in the Hall that day. But then she heard that loud-mouth Ravenclaw entering Hall and how could she NOT hear him? He was loud and obnoxious and a royal pain really. How in the world he connived the hat to let him into Ravenclaw was beyond her.
Not to mention he HURT her housemate. And no one hurt a fellow badger without expecting retaliation.
"You!" Fina stood up, closing her book and pointing her wand at the older student. "You're Armen Recard, are you NOT?" Stare. "You best have a good reason for breaking her heart, mister." And totally knew who she was talking about. He had to.
"How dare you just sit there and stuff your face......you crushed her. She cared about you and you USED her."
