This morning's run was different from the rest. Why? Because she had her little bitty baby Marshmallow with her. Since she had adopted it a few days ago, they had been inseparable. It had even been difficult for her to keep the crup with the others when the need arose.
"That was great, wasn't it, Marshmallow?'' the woman asked with a slight pant as she came to a stop at the Barnyard. The crup barked which made Kay grin and gave it a scratch behind it's ears. "Now we've got to help Mr Grumpy Pants with the other creatures. Let's go find him.''
Jordan should be there already. He usually was. | |

Jordan was late to the barn and it'd never happened to his entire life before, ever since when he was still a Hogwarts student. So this was breaking his record. Big thanks to his immune system and the nasty virus. Even though he wasn't feeling good today, the show must still go on. At least that's what Queen said on their song. Putting on the mask, the CoMC professor entered the barn.
He spotted Kaysha was there and currently playing with the crup that she recently just adopted. "You're early." Of course the CoMC professor was too proud to say that he was late, especially in front of her. He acted like there was nothing with him, but then the unstoppable sneezing happened.

Marshmallow jumped up repeatedly and tried to lick her face. The crup succeeded a few times too which made Kay laugh. She was having a good time and was really glad Jordan had suggested she adopt one. Well, he needed to make it up to her anyway since he had gotten busy over the summer.
She straightened up from playing with Marshmallow just as she heard his voice. "I'm always early.'' And she was surprised she had beaten him this morning. "Needed some beauty sleep?'' she teased. "And what's with the mask?'' Kay started to move towards the various creatures, crup in tow, just as Jordan began with a sneeze attack.
"Are you alright? Did you catch the cold?'' Concern showed on her face. | |

He didn't say any word when Kay teased him with the mask and beauty sleep and just a tiny smile behind his mask. Honestly, he did need more sleep and perhaps a bowl of chicken soup to ease this cold. But he had to finish his work first. Yes, Jordan was sick but he just didn't admit it to his colleague. "I'm okay, it's just a little cold." Sniffled. "I'm just going to... feed the hippogriffs and winged horse first." Cough cough.
"And uh...." Jordan was about to ask if she could feed the crups and nifflers, but the sneezing happened again. "Maybe you can help me.. feeding Marshmallow and its friends." Alright, let's just finish the work so he could go back to his hut and take a rest.

Kay raised an eyebrow. So he was going to play the tough guy. Too bad because she saw right through him. His ego was so big, wasn’t it? “Right. That sniffle and mask says it all, Jordan. Just a little cold…’’ It would explain why he was late. She watched as Marshmallow went bounding up to him and tried to lick his face. Leave it to her darling crup to try to make him feel better.
She winced when he began sneezing. It was more like a sneeze attack in her opinion. “Are you sure you want to do that? I mean I can look after them for you; you’d just need to make sure I’m doing everything right.’’ The last thing she or the creatures needed was Jordan’s germs all over them like that mask had.
And if he refused, then she’d let him have his way just to see how tough he was. | |

Maybe she thought that Jordan was pretending to be tough and didn't need any help. Well, he's a man and a Hernandez to be exact. They wouldn't give up easily and leave their duty just because of little cold. "It is just a little cold, Kaysha." He spoke with a raspy voice. "I'll go back to my hut after I finished here." He noticed that Marshmallow was coming to him and tried to lick his face. "Hey buddy." He just patted the crup's head and didn't let her licking his face because he's full of germs now.
Was he sure that he still have to work? "Kaysha, you don't have to worry. I only need to feed the creatures today." Jordan insisted that he still needed to work with them. "I can't let the creatures starve because I was down having a little cold.." Cue another sneeze. "Then I choose to abandon them." More sneezing. Jordan dedicated his time to take care of the creatures, so a little cold would let them down. No, never.
"But anyway, thanks for help."

Good grief. He was so stubborn. If he wanted to continue being that way, who was Kay to stop him? “That’s fine. Your choice. I won’t say I told you so when you haven’t got more strength to finish up.’’ She had an easy smile on her face and thought she was going to keep an eye on him. “Come on, Marshmallow. Let’s get you and the others fed.’’
More sneezes. “Besides, that mask may fly off if he sneezes again and cover you with his germs. We don’t want that, do we?’’ No, not at all. “You’re a stubborn man, Christopher Jordan Lee Hernandez.’’ Kay reached for her hair and hair tie that had been around her wrist. She pulled her long hair into a high ponytail just the way he disliked it. “Come on, Marshmallow.’’ Before going to the other crups, Kay looked over at him. “See you in a few.’’
