Destination One

Antonio spent a few moments watching the contestants as they searched for their portkeys and he couldn't say he was exactly impressed. How hard was it to find a portkey? He didn't think they were hidden all that well. And if they had a difficult time with this task, he didn't have high hopes for the rest of the game. But his outward appearance didn't at all convey his inner thoughts as he kept a pleasant smile on his face.

And soon enough, he pulled out the broken comb from his pocket, activated it, and was transported to Giza himself before the first pairing of contestants began arriving. Pair by pair, they started to pop into view before him, until they were waiting for one more group (Sabina and Rafael). He waited a few more minutes, but eventually deemed it time to begin this challenge. Hopefully those two would show up soon and not have the misfortune of starting after everyone else.

"Ahlan wa Sahlan, everyone! Welcome to Egypt!" Antonio gave them all a wide smile, excited to really get the event underway. "Are we ready to get started? For this first stop, you will be going inside the Great Pyramid!" He grandly gestured to the largest pyramid about two kilometers from where they all were standing. "Once inside, you will need to enter one of the chambers and retrieve a scarab artifact. However, there is only one scarab per chamber, so be sure to look in a chamber that another team has not already gotten to." Depending on how quickly and efficiently they get inside, that may prove more difficult than expected.

"But be careful! As I'm sure you are aware, the pyramids are known for the many curses bestowed inside. Once you have retrieved the scarab, exit the pyramid and find the sphinx. You will need to correctly answer the sphinx's riddle before you can cross the finish line." Antonio handed each pair of contestants a sealed envelope that had those steps that he just outlined as well as more details about the tasks. He held onto one for the remaining team still needing to show up.

"When you are ready, you may begin! But one last thing, apparition does not work in this specific location." Whether it was a curse or anti-disapparition spell or something else entirely, he did not say. "It is quite a distance, but if you'd like, you can make use of the camels." He again gestured, though not quite as grandly, this time at the group of seven camels in front of the bottles of water and headscarves. "You might find them useful in this desert heat." And with that, they could get started. "Good luck!"

SPOILER!!: ic/ooc info
Steps and Information for the Task
  • Make your way to the pyramid two kilometers away. You can use any means you are realistically able to, but no apparating. There are camels as Antonio said, but only one per group and they only seat one at a time.
  • Find your way into the pyramid through an entrance called the Robber's Tunnel. There is an invisible barrier blocking your way so you must find a way past that first.
  • Inside, there are many narrow passages that ascend and descend to several different chambers. If you can decipher some hieroglyphs, you might be able to quickly find your way. Otherwise, just keep going. You'll eventually get there.
  • If you're lucky, you may find an amulet (or two) inside the chamber. If you know what they're used for, you might find them beneficial to you. But be careful not to touch anything else that doesn't belong to you. Some of the artifacts may be permeated with a dark curse such as Flagrante, Gemino, or Conjunctivitis.
  • Look for a golden scarab (they will each be inside a sarcophagus, not initially known to the contestants. The sarcophagus will be sealed closed, so maybe use magic or some curse-breaking skills to retrieve it).
  • Once that is found, exit the pyramid and look for the sphinx. Be careful to approach her properly. She will give you a riddle which you must answer correctly and then you can be on your way to the finish line.

She was, after all, their princess. There was no way she'd jeopardise that status with a toilet seat joke. He wasn't sure if she'd go easy on her younger brother, though.

The man had to restrain himself from mildly slapping the boy's arm. Aramis was not aware of his power to make Albert dissolve into laughter. He, however, did not want to misconstrue the action as something negative or displeasing, considering that he wasn't the showy, touchy and affectionate father. He will not risk it, especially when they were supposed to have fun. Therefore, Albert kept his hands to himself and kept the knowing grin on his face.

The jiggling though. Albert will have to return the favour. Soon.

As soon as the tips of his thumb and index finger made contact with their portkey, the hooking sensation was felt, and soon enough, the both of them were transported to a place that was too warm for Europeans like them; 27-30°C at the very least. Albert squinted his eyes, as he whipped out his Rayban's from his pocket, and unzipped his jacket. The toilet seat that he'd been holding was immediately placed around Aramis' neck. Lesson learned, he supposed? Giving his son a winning grin, Albert moved on to clean his hands.

"We could've gone way down south Giza, though. Visit my old pre-university school." Albert spent his gap year in the Serengeti Institute to learn more about advanced Transfiguration. All thanks to those folks, he'd been more adept in the field. "Any ideas on what our mission here will be?" he asked turning his attention back to Aramis. "Mummies?...Decipher a bunch of Runes?"
And that's what he got for teasing his father. A toliet seat around his neck.

Giving his Dad a bit of a glare the teen pulled the seat off of his head, and dropped it on the ground. He used his wand to aim a few cleaning spells on his hands, neck and face before putting it back in his wrist holster and looking around.

"No idea what it could be. " The boy said as he saw their host arrive and he wiped at his neck and squinted a bit in the sun as Antonio explained what they were going to do..

Go to a pyramid, get a thing, solve a riddle.. sounded easy enough but he knew the pyramids had tons of curses on them.. so this wouldn't be easy at all. Good thing he has paid attention in Professor Hirch's classes!

"Seems like break curses might be more accurate. " He said as he looked over at his Father. Now how were they going to get there? He didn't exactly feel like walking for two kilometers, but it didn't seem like he had much choice.. where was his broom when he needed it?

"I expect we should get going then. We wouldn't want to be late to the party, would we?'' Ariel was the perfect partner. Apparently participating in competitions was their thing; it was where they had met first. "We're off...'' Indeed they were. There was that jerk around his middle and then they whooshed off into nothingness.

Levi kept his eyes on Ariel, fully intending on keeping her from falling. These portkey journeys could be a little eventful. He touched down nicely on his feet. "We made it,'' was the comment as he looked around.

Now, could they continue with the competition?
Travelling by portkey wasn't the best experience in the world, but Arielle DID manage to do a decent job of it; at least she hadn't fallen when they reached their destination. She did everything in style after all.

Her first observation upon arrival was just how HOT it was here. Of course that was to be expected seeing as they were in Egypt. Frowning slightly she removed her jacket; otherwise she was bound to overheat and then become cranky which wouldn't be the best thing for their partnership. Tying it around her waist, she listened to the announcer, letting her eyes wander over the the pyramid that he was referring to. "Now this is my kind of challenge!" Being in a musty old place wasn't to Arielle's liking, but it DID sound like a lot of fun, camels aside.

"Do you want to walk or take a camel?" Something that she NEVER thought she would ever say.

The glare was met with a triumphant grin. It was definitely something worth documenting...even a good piece of blackmail for Aramis' girlfriend, but then again...the sight of the grimy toilet seat was just too much. "You're welcome." Albert suppressed a chuckle as he watched Aramis drop the portkey to the ground.

He too watched their host arrive, listened to what the man had to say, and took the envelope that was handed to them. Once the word 'curses' was mentioned, Albert's glare turned towards the man, and then to the pyramids that was oh so far away for his knees. "Still, I hope you're well-versed with your Runes young man." He then looked at the camels who can only sit one person, and a collection of water bottles and headscarves in front of it. Without a word, he took two bottles and two headscarves from the crate, and handed it to Aramis. Raising up a hand, he walked from camel to camel looking at each straight in the eyes, trying to feel which one would best suit Aramis. "This one," he said tapping the neck of the camel and gestured Aramis to come closer. "Cast a feather-light charm on yourself, ride the camel and meet me there." he said giving the Giza Pyramids a glance. "The people of Egypt use camels for racing, so if you can manage to make it run, do it." Albert said, quickly switching his language to German so only Aramis can understand. He didn't doubt his son with this task, given that he'd grown up in a grove filled with winged horses. The boy can ride any creature, he was sure of that.

As for him, he got his trick up his sleeve. Retrieving the water bottle from Aramis, Albert drank mouthfuls of water, and placed it inside one of the bags hanging from the camel's saddle. "Why don't we race each other then, yes?" Should be fun.

Just a preference but Nigel totally preferred apparation to portkey travel. One he was more use to and well the other still felt weird. Desert. Not the best place to bring alcohol to. Maybe should have brought a liter of water from the bar instead.

But too late now.

Seriously, he knew this was a competition but he left work to you know get anyway from work for a week. Not just hope over to Egpyt and go right back to cursebreaking. Eh. He would have to eat his words since Gaia as usual was right before.

Camels.

The only thing Nigel hoped for his is not named Melwah and Al Riffa. Thats the only thing right now.

"You want to pick the camels and then we can name them. I was thinking Engelbert Humperdinck or Al Shamlal"

Both were good names.

1 of 4 Amigos Don't underestimate me!

There they were... In Giza.. Man, Zeph wished he had thought to bring a camera along.. He'd have loved to have been able to take some photos to show Sammy and everyone else back home.

He took the few minutes that it took for the MC for the contest began to speak and took in their surroundings and noticed the pyramids in the distance and the vastness of the dessert that enveloped them. " Yo, Austin... Take a look...
We're in the middle of the desert, Dude.."
, he said, a huge smile on his face. " This is gonna be wicked!"

After who knows how long... Too long the announcer began to explain the first task.. And it included going into one of the pyramids that he saw in the distance! Awsome... This was gonna be great .. The whole experience itself was worth signing up for the unknown.... No apparating... No problem.. He'd never been there so he hadn't planned on using that as a means of transport.. Nope.. He was hoping that Austin was up for a nice camel race over to the Grand Pyramid because Zephyr REALLY didn't want run across the desert.. It was far too hot and he wasn't properly hydrated.

" Dude... We need to get a camel... So when it's time... Sprint over and grab one.... And I'll follow... Alright? We're younger... Faster.. We need to use that to our advantage whenever we can..."

Hardly an advantage here.

Either way he was ready to go. Taking in his surroundings.. Was the next clue here? or did they have a marked path to follow?

"OH WOW"

Where they in Eygpt? This was amazing, did Max see all of this. "Can you believe we are here?" She grinned squeezing his arm, but before she could say anymore someone was talking to them. She listened to him and his instructions. They would be going into a pyramid? Was he serious? She had never been a cursebreaker thought she was top of her class at school, but that was eleven years ago. How as she ever going to get through this!

Thankful she had Max she turned to him, "So Camels, glad I brought a camera because this is going to be a great memory if nothing else." She was happy to be doing this with him and glad that they had the opportunity. Turning she looked back at the camels and started walking towards one. "Ever used one before? I mean are they like horses?" She really didn't have a clue.

The sun was hot and bright and honestly Austin was wishing he had a pair of sunglasses. Shielding his eyes with his hand the teen surveyed the desert as far as he could see, noting the pyramids off in the distance. It was a lot of sand but amazing none-the-less. Reaching into his bag that hung from his shoulder and rummaging around in it a moment he pulled out something... "Hey, Zeph, here," he tossed him a camera. "Sam gave it to me. We both have one." The kid sister wanted photos of everything.

Listening to their announcer a smirk tugged at Austin's lips and he laughed. "I know, man. I know. Was it the fact that we're standing in sand or the huge pyramids that gave it away?" He was teasing but his tone might have said different...maybe he had seen that playful glint in his eyes.

When they were given the scroll with the directions he looked it over briefly before passing it to Zephyr. "Yeah, I got it. We can only take one though... so you want to ride first..or... how's your transfiguration?" He had an idea that could hopefully work.

Gesturing with his head at Zeph he headed straight for the camels, selecting one and grabbing them each a bottle of water and headscarves, tossing one of each to him. It was go time.

Aramis grinned at his father as he spoke, "Don't worry Dad, as long as we aren't out here using Artithmancy, I think we will be okay. " He said with an easy grin. And he didn't mean the curse breaking stuff, he knew that. The normal Arithmancy is what he had issues with. He was pretty sure his NEWT score would reflect that.

The boy took the headscarves and the water bottles from his father and followed him towards the camels. He watched as the older man looked at the camels, he knew what he was doing and he trusted his judgment completely. His Dad worked with dragons after all, surely he would be able to tell which Camel would suit him.

Aramis nodded as his father instructed him what to do, and he had nonverbally cast a feather light charm on himself before his father had stopped speaking. The language switch made him listen closer though and he smiled and gave the man a wink.. "On it. " He said as he scrambled up onto the camel and took the reins.. this would be fun. He grinned as he looked down at his father as he took a drink of water and nodded.

The boy wrapped the scarf around his neck and nodded.

"Let's race Dad!" He said as he started to turn the camel toward the Pyramid.

Albert raised a brow as he slowly turned to his son who was now atop the camel. Perhaps they should've brought Antheia along. Considering that she's an heiress to one of the best wineries in Italy, she would've done exceptionally well with numbers. "I'm afraid you did get that from me." Albert struggled with maths, but he did manage to get a good grade. His self-discipline was impeccable. "We'll work it out, just in case." Albert nodded confidently as he got one of the headscarves and tied it around his head. It was bad news for his receding hairline, but he didn't want his head roasted under the Egyptian sun.

The wink didn't go unnoticed, and the man simply chuckled. He was chuffed to bits, of course. He taught his son well. Albert wouldn't even be surprised if Aramis has a string of girlfriends with that swagger.

He knew Aramis wouldn't say no to a race. He didn't even consider his 58 year old body! But then again, Albert was a capable man. At this point where they were only allowed one camel per team, and that only one person can ride the camel at a time, he had to turn towards his other resources. "Let's see then who is faster. Your camel...or me." With a sly grin, Albert transformed himself into his animagus form in the blink of an eye. A handsome looking Alaskan Malamute was now in all fours and took off after his son.

Nice and easy now...

"I'm not worried. " The eighteen year old said confidently as he looked down at his Father. "I know the curse breaking Arithmancy well, it's just the rest of the stuff I had trouble with. " He said with a nod as he adjusted himself on the camel and looked around. He had never ridden one of these before, but he had been on several other animals, magical at that. So how hard could a camel be?

Good thing he was super light right now, he knew most camel jockeys were kids due to their weight. He probably weighed as much as one right now, so that would help them out.

A grin cracked the side of his mouth as his father spoke, and he watched as he transformed into his animagus.

"You are on Dad! " Aramis said as he nudged his camel with his legs, and the thing slowly started to walk, good.. but not good enough! A few more nudges and some "Hut Huts" and a few "let's go's" later, the boy had the camel running across the sands!

"Woooo! " Aramis whooped as they started to race! Merlin this was fun! It was right out of one of those old muggle movies.. California Jones? Or something like that?

Max carefully took in the instructions as he got used to the glare, merlin it was bright here. He was never much of a cursebreaker but he'd lived through his fair share of dangerous situations. So he'd be fine. He knew Min would make it back in one piece as well.

Once the guy was done talking and Min had reacted to the camels he laughed just a little. It has been a good minute since he'd ridden a camel, he was probably twenty one last time he had. "They're different, but it's pretty easy. You take the camel and i'll walk." Two Kilometers wasn't that bad.
If it wasn't so hot he'd probably just go all Animagus mode and wolf!run his way over to the pyramid. But he was an ARCTIC wolf and this was no place for that. "Need help getting on?"

Ari made it safely with him and Levi was left free to turn his attention back to Antonio. Yes, yes. He and Ari were ready to get started. Was it needless to say that he was already bored? The challenge is what he needed right now. Move it, Antonio.

A Great Pyramid!

Now this is more like it.

Levi kept his eyes on it while Antonio rambled on. He took the envelope being handed to them. "I have a better idea. Inanimatus Conjurus! Inanimatus Conjurus!'' With a smirk and lots of concentration, Levi conjured up two sturdy broomsticks. "We'll travel in style, Ari.'' Without another word, he climbed onto the first broomstick. But not before grabbing a few bottles of water and head scarves. "Ready?'' He brushed his forehead with a hand.

Merlin, it was hot!

Should he be worried? Of course not. Aramis was a Morgenstern, and if anything, the Morgensterns are very resourceful and will do any and all means to achieve their goal. "Good. We'll survive." At least they got that under their belts somehow, but this heat.

Merlin forbid. It was a good thing that Antheia liked him a bit tan.

Smirk.

Now in his animagus form, Albert simply looked at his son and tried to match the pace of his camel. He would love to win, prove that he reigned supreme in this race, but a part of him wanted to just enjoy the moment. Did people see the joy in Aramis' face? Perhaps it had been years since he last saw that youthful smile of his. Yes, he did get that from his mother. Well and good.

Properly distracted now because of the heat, and the pungent smell of Aramis' camel-- of which, by the way, tripled because of his heightened sense of smell, Albert quickened his pace to catch up on Aramis, but remained behind him to look after his son.

Winning a race wasn't much of a big deal, really. He had won so many times in his life that their little friendly competition right now was petty. Albert wouldn't mind a bit of dent in his pride. He was going to lose to his own son anyway, which was more than okay. Feeling the heat seep through his coat, and on his paws, Albert kept a straight face and kept on running and concentrated on his breathing.

It was a good thing he did conditioning exercises back home using Antheia's treadmill. The hard work and no cake policy were finally paying off.

Zeph watched as Austin went fishing into his bag and tossed him a?.... Leave it to his Love to think of everything.. Zeph caught the camera with a smile, " Sweet!... I'm tellin' ya, Aus.... Your baby sister doesn't miss a thing.."

He laughed knowing full well Austin had gotten his joke. The mirth in his eyes gave him completely away.

In the time it took to look over the rule scroll quickly Zephyr could feel a plan coming to mind and By the sounds of it Austin was having the same experience. A clever grin grew over his face.. " It's my best subject... Are ya think what I'm thinking?... ", he answered..." Instead of the camels do you want to transfigure into an animal?... "
Truth was Zephyr had studied up on how to become an animagus.. He just never applied for the training back at school, but he was confident in his skills with transfiguration so why not try something.... " Or are ya thinking we transfigure the camel into a car or something , but... That'll be just as difficult... if at all possible" ,he added as he wrapped the scarf around his head and took the water from him and stowed it in his bag.

A smirk graced Austin's lips and he nodded once. "I know. She's just like her big brother...smart." Ahem. Yep. He was totally taking credit for Sam being how she was even he he most likely had nothing at all to do with it. "She wants photo proof of it all so don't forget to take some for her." That was the one and only time he was saying it. To disappoint his baby sister would not be the best way to get and remain on his good side.

They were on the same page and Zephyr's words just further proved that fact. The thought of transfiguring a camel into a car would be all sorts of epic but he wasn't nearly that good in the branch of transfiguration that would be needed for that. "Man, do you even have any idea how awesome that would be?... but nah.. I uh.." he smirked holding back his laughter. Austin was about to agree with turning themselves into animals as that HAD been his first thought but then his mind shifting. Anyone looking at him could tell that he was coming up with something else.

There was a sudden gleam in his eye. Storing the bottle of water in his bag, he tied the headscarf around his head before kneeling down in the sand. Hopefully what he was thinking would actually work cause man would he feel stupid if it didn't. Using his hands he pushed the sand sound around forming something of a smallish mound of sand ignoring the fact that is was indeed rather hot. When he got the pile of sand to a decent size he rose to his feet and aimed his wand at it. "Duro," Aus cast on the mound of size grinning as it turned into solid stone. Making a slashing motion at the sand turned stone with his wand he called out, "Draconifors!" while firmly picturing the type of dragon he wanted. No one had said they had to use the camels. It also hadn't been said that they couldn't create dragons either.

Where once there was sand was now a miniature version of a Hebridean Black dragon. He wasn't done yet though. A tiny dragon of that size wasn't going to get him anywhere. Wand still held firmly in his hand he cast one last spell, "Engorgio" watching the dragon swell in size until it was large enough to carry him without any trouble.

Austin grinned widely casting a look at Zeph. "Give it a go or catch a ride with me?" Either was fine by him. There was no worry needed since the dragon was under his control. "Hey buddy, down," he directed calmly walking over and smoothing his hand along the dragons side like he did this daily. The Hebridean black lowered herself down onto the sand allowing Austin to manage his way up onto her back where he settled down taking hold of one the ridges along it's neck. He was ready to soar!

The race across the desert wasn't a walk in the park, it was hot and his camel smelled and he was being bounced around like crazy, but it was fun! Despite the sweat and the smells and the heat. He hadn't this much fun in a long time. It reminded him of when he was little and learning how to ride one of the flying horses they had at home.

He slowed the camel as the came into the shadow of the pyramid and he looked back to see if his dad was okay. He wiped his face with his headscarf and peered up at the structure, they were there, but now how did they get in?

"You all right Dad? " He asked as he slid off the camel and landed in the sand. He retrieved both water bottles from the saddle bags as well as the envelope that had been handed them. He took a drink of water and started to open the paper.. "Well, now how to we get in? " He said looking around.

From a run, Albert slowed down to a jog, and then to a walk with his animagus' tongue stuck out. He was done with running, and hopefully, it would be the last time he'd have to do it. As he walked, he transformed back to his human form and quickly took one of the water bottles and took a long sip. "I'm fine...for now." He can tell that he'd be sore in a few hours when the first challenge is over.

As he did so, he took in the sight of the pyramid and the two sides that they were facing as they stood in front of its angle, "Centuries ago, muggles and wizardkind ventured inside these pyramids to uncover its secrets. Muggles mostly stole precious artefacts, some of them did research, while we, searched for ancient practices in magic," Merlin, it felt like he was back in Durmstrang teaching children. "More often than not, these tombs are believed to be cursed. I say people are just ignorant." he continued as he walked towards the pyramid and touched the limestone with his hand, and inspected its debris with his fingers and took another turn to see two more pyramids in the distance that was, by the way, perfectly aligned with the largest one. "This...is Khufu's tomb then," he said turning towards Aramis'. "Let's step back and view the pyramid from a distance. There ought to be a difference in the surface, resembling some sort of doorway, and we'll start from there." he said as he started to walk towards where they came from and brandished his wand out, "Point me." Squinting to where the north was, he gestured his head toward it, "North is over there. Let's start with that, shall we?"

There was a time in his youth when he'd be out and about studying and researching various kinds of creatures while they were in their natural habitat. He'd been to this place once, did not enjoy it, but never expected to be back in the land of the pharaohs with his son. Albert glanced back at Aramis and regarded him briefly. "Are you alright? Having fun so far?" Hopefully, he was, given that he wasn't that fond of sand...and extreme heat.

Oh Nigel.

He was lucky he had her around to pay attention to the details.

"Camel. Singular," she said cutely while bopping his nose with her index finger. But yes, she would select their camel thank you very much! "Only one seat hmmmm," she mused as she approached one of the remaining camels and picked the one that had the most gentle eyes. "You think you can surf the sands? Can transfigure yourself a board and fasten it to the saddle here and Karma here can pull you along while I ride on her back." She even patted the beautiful thing's neck affectionately and minded precisely zero as dollops upon dollops of drool fell from its mouth and on to her blonde head.

She WAS feeling pretty proud of herself too, correctly predicting that they would need to do a bit of cursebreaking. But really that just gave them the unfair advantage since Nigel did it for a living.

Taking out one of the headscarves and wrapping it around her head, she approached Nigel with the second and took it upon herself to wrap his luxurious locks away nice and safe with a wide grin gracing her tanned features.

That was the one and only time he was saying it.

Zeph let loose a little chuckle at austin's reaction to the camel to car idea... He was right if it were possible that would be pretty friggin' cool. And the animal idea was possible but risky to perform on themselves without the proper training .... Hmmmm? Think think ..Think.

He tied the scarf around his head to shield him from the blistering sun AND to wick away the sweat that gave his eyes it's salty sting.. Better.. Zeph took a sip of his water and then watched as Austin started playing in the sand....
" Dude!.. This is no time to be play...." , he was saying and then he saw Austin pull out his wand ... What the ?!... Zephyr continued to watch... With amazement mind you.. As his partner transfigured sand to stone and that stone into a Teeny tiny DRAGON! Zephyr was practically wiggling with glee as the beautiful creature grew before them.

"You. Are. A genius...... No wasting time.... ', Points his wand at the dragon. " Watch out, Austin.... She doesn't look big enough for the both of us.. I'll enlarge her a big more..". Waits for Aus to jump down and then points his wand at their dragon, " Engorgio.."

" Come on, Austin!... Let's fly!", He exclaimed as he took his place behind Austin as it was technically his dragon and Zeph was just hitching a ride..But he didn't want to waste time trying those spells when they had a perfectly good dragon.

Play.

His buddy thought he was taking time out to play. Austin rolled his eyes and continued with what he had been doing. The smirk on his face growing when he saw Zeph finally realize what he was doing this whole time.

"So I've been told," he chuckled grinning easily. His siblings told him he was a genius on occasion but it was mainly do to his quick thinking or coming up with an easy fool proof plan to get things done. Like this. Most of the time thinking fast on his feet came easily... but not always. There were just times were he failed at things and failed miserably at that.

Huh? He blinked slipping down off his dragon when Zeph aimed his own wand at it. Ah, true true his creation wasn't large enough for them both. "Nice work, man, now we fly!" With that he took his place back on his dragons back and took hold of the ridges that ran down her back. "Let's do this!" With a gentle nudge to the beautiful creatures side with his foot she spread her mighty wings and with a hard flap they rose up into the air.

And they were off! Flying high and smooth straight for the pyramids ahead. The strong flapping of the dragons wings giving them a breeze and short break from the intense heat of the desert. "This is... AWESOME!" he exclaimed glancing over his shoulder at his partner. All to soon though Aus had to direct a landing as they reached where they had to be, leaning forward a little and speaking in a hushed calm voice.

They landed nicely with not much more then a very slight impact muffled by all the sand. Allowing Zephyr to get down first, Austin slid from the dragons back and onto his feet. "Thanks girl, you served us well." Aiming his wand at the dragon a quiet cancelled spell later there was now sand where the dragon had stood.

Staring up at the Pyramids before them he squinted in the sunlight. "Let's figure out where we're supposed to be going and how to get in..." He looked at Zeph who still had the scroll of instructions, right?

He grinned as Austin praised him for the simplest charm being re-used to enlarge their beast. " I know , right... 'Cause it was so hard..", He joked with a funny face as he climbed up onto the dragon's back. He held around Austin's waist to keep from being thrown off when she started to spread and flap her strong thin membered wings.

Up Up and away from the group they flew.. Zeph peered over the side of the dragon as she gained altitude. Everyone appeared to look like little insects in a vast sandbox making him chuckle nervously at the thought of becoming a little puddle of person on the ground should he fall at this height. He decided it was not the smartest idea to have looked down... Note to self.... ' Don't look down again'

So quickly had they started their descent.. They'd already reached the Great Pyramid and he clamored down quickly and rubbed the insides of his legs,
they were a bit sore from the dragonscales rubbing. Then he took the scroll they had been given out of his bag and took a look at the next set of instructions.

" We've got to find our way in ... But there's likely curses set so we've got to be super careful... And then find a chamber ... Find a scarab artifact.. Get to the Sphinx.." , He said as he read the sheet of parchment. " We need to find a way in, Aus... "

Thinks for a moment and starts to grin as he pulls his wand, " Watch this.... Dunamis revelio!...".. After a few moments a light shone from the end of his wand like a trail to the nearest opening that they might be able to use as an entrance. " Dude!.. It worked!... It friggin' worked!... Come on... Let's go before the other teams get here..", He said as he started following the thin strip of light that emanated from the tip of his wand..
Seriously this was an awesome contest..

Guess he wasn't paying complete attention to the dude speaking Arabic before. Oh well there was only one camel and wait a sec she just named it and decided she was going to ride Karma. That all happened way to fast fro Nigel to comprehend and yeah whatever. She could ride Karma and he will just make something. Not a board though

He conjured up a inflatable donut and some rope.

"I was thinking this instead of a board. I like it"

See he though an inflatable donut would be fun. Better than a board. He will just add a featherweight charm to him and it and they should be good to go.

Oooo good idea dont want the hair getting ruined. After he tied the rope to the saddle. He hoped on the donut like he was riding a board and gave a thumbs up.

"Ready when you are"

Probably going to be the slowest ones there.

But he was having fun

When Levi conjured up the broomsticks, Arielle felt that she could have kissed him. THAT was just how much she had been dreading the prospect of riding on smelly camels. They spit for one thing, and for another she had heard that they could make you seasick, and there was NO way that this McDean EVER got seasick if she could help it.

"You are amazing, Levi. Of course you already knew that," she said as she climbed on her broomstick. Wizarding travel was the only way worth going in a place like this.

With a nod, she took off, knowing that he was following right behind her.

Seriously this was an awesome contest..
With feet firmly on the ground and their dragon gone, Austin realized something. "We should've taken some photos of that for Sam and everyone." Oh, well they would have plenty of time to take pictures.

Okay so they needed to find a way in. Austin nodded at Zephyr. Clearly getting inside was a given...he had more meant 'HOW' when he asked. Nothing else was as important as getting inside the Pyramid right now, expect maybe not getting themselves cursed while doing so. "Hmm? What? I'm watching..." he shifted his gaze from the Pyramids standing before them onto his dark haired partner.

A light shone from Zeph's wand leading the way to the entrance. "There ya go!" he smirked walking alongside him following the strip of light. As it faded away in front of what was sure to be the entrance to the Robber's Tunnel. "Think we can just walk inside?" he really doubted it would be that easy and he didn't feel like chancing it just yet. Aiming his wand at the area where the door was he spoke clearly, "Avis!" a group of birds erupted from his wand straight towards the Pyramid only to smash into the barrier, feathers raining down all over the place. "Lovely... uh... "

Think, Austin. Think.

Then it hit him. Try something simple for now. "If this doesn't work... we try everything until something does..." He looked at Zephyr. One way or another they were getting inside. "Finite Incantatem!" he cast at the entrance.
