The exterior of the house is painted a soft, pale blue. As you enter the dark-stained door, you see that the walls and floor are made of cedar. White carpets cover the floors in some rooms, and blue carpets cover the floor in other rooms. Still other rooms have no carpet at all. There are many windows that let in the sunlight that streams down in golden ribbons. Welcome to Maura's house.

"Most people are either trapped by family or on vacation', Edward said. He noticed the difference in his voice since he was keeping the engagement thing from Ella and he was pretty sure Maura and possibly Ella noticed it. Maura knew about it since Edward asked for her help when he needed it and couldn't talk to his family about it even if they knew.

She noticed the odd edge to his voice, that strange, slightly restricted tone of someone who is keeping a secret, but she knew what it was about and kept silent about it.
