Lily Evans didn't know what she had gotten herself into when she agreed to stay with James Potter over the summer break. Her parents were making arrangements for Petunia Evans, and Vernon Dursley’s wedding. Lily wasn't a fan of Vernon Dursley or his family, and she wasn’t a fan of the arrangements that Petunia had helped to make. Petunia, had of course found her Diary, which she had written, “I hate James Potter” on the first page, and so to tick Lily off, she purposefully made her stay with him. How will her summer escapades and rampant mischievousness change her life, and how will they effect her feelings for a certain, James Potter.
NOTE: ONLY FIRST POST IS FROM THE SUMMER, IT STARTS IN THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.
Plot Information:
In the beginning Lily isn't fond of James Potter or his actions, but in the end she warms to him, and eventually the school year begins. This begins in the tail-end of the summer, but the first post is a basic motticum of emotions that Lily felt in the beginning of the summer before her new experience evolved into a whole new destiny. A Destiny that included a certain James Potter, as her new-found-love in her last and final seventh year at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Dear Diary,
Petunia has made me stay over-summer with the Potters, how weird is that? She got a hold of my Diary that I forgot at home over the school year and in it, the first words were "I HATE JAMES POTTER". I feel really bad about it now, because I know I don't Hate James anymore, he was so oddeningly kind to me over the past month. We've only got three more weeks of summer break left, and I wonder what will happen between us considering my change-of-heart and his so clear obsession with being around me and wanting to well, date me.

Lily read the note she had written the week before and smiled, today some of her friends were showing up and they were attempting to help her through the end of the month and the end of the summer break. She really loved the Potter's home it was such a beautiful building with a magical inside-litterally, the inside was enchanted so its expanse was much larger than that it looked like it would be from the outside. It looked quaint from the outside, and on the inside it was quaint, but still oh-so-lavish.
Lily walked out of her room in the Potter's home putting her Diary on the end of her bed and locking it quickly. She walked down the stairs and out the back kitchen-door of the house. Where a small crystal-clear pond was visible there were no creatures like Giant Squids or Grindylows in the water here it was so beautifuly an Azure water. She walked to the waters edge and looked at all the small fish swimming around, she loved watching the water as much as she loved dazing off into fire-places.
She heard a slight hoot and looked up seeing a tawny owl with a letter about its leg. Taking the letter and opening it, she realized it was the Hogwarts leters.
Reading the letter she almost screamed. "I'VE GOT HEAD!" She yelled out in shock, she was head girl for her year. Head Girl! She wondered who Head Boy would be and assumed James would not be him, if it was James she would probably feint or blink at him repetatively saying "thats impossible!" Because it really was impossible.
She smiled and heard the door bell ring, walking to the door and opening it she smiled welcoming all the visitors into the home, it wasn't like James's parents would mind. They were constantly off on buisness, which made it possible for them to--well, have many moments alone in their large home. One morning, she had woken and found him gazing at her, and as she stood up, he walked over and planted a kiss on her lips. That was the day she realized she had feelings for him. The day she realized she actually was quite fond of James Potter.

Personality: Lily is a tough girl she's not the type to sit back and watch someone get tortrured however she will fight with old friends like Severus Snape if they call her nasty names like "mudblood".

James whispered back. "Really?" He hadn't noticed anything. Though considering he didn't notice a lot of things, this wasn't much to go by.
He almost had whiplash a second later as Lily raced to glomp Maylin. Laughing, he let the two talk and turned to see if Gin really liked Sirius, and likewise. If they did, James would use his expert skills of matchmaking to get them together.

"I'm so glad that was it i was worried that you no longer remembered me." she told her. MJ was afraid of being forgotten. She had once lost her memories, and she had hated herself for that.
“Sure did, Nathan went on a trip and brought me back but i missed the train told him I could get here on my own and I um, ran into trouble, but that is a story for later." she told her and grinned. When Lily told her what was occuring her eyes widened and she clapped her hands together behind her friend who was still hugging her. "Took a chance huh?" she told her with a cheer in her voice. MJ knew that Lily had a fancy on James, but because of how she was she refused it. She begun to bounce her hair boucning along with her. she grabbed Lily by the hand and started to giggle and bounce with her. "Congrats, hey James where ever you are since I cannot see, you break her heart my brother will have your head." she informed him and smiled. "Oh yay I am so happy. you and james yay!!!' she said while spining and then fell. "lily I am so happy for both of you." she told her with a huge smile.

She smiled, "Oh you remember, Alex, Ginerva Kensington - her brother Lucien who we are still debating a good nickname for. Luci is too much like Lucius for poor old Sirius here so I suggested Trist." Lily smiled.
Ginerva looked up, not moving when Mj walked in, she gave her a casual happy smile. After all Ginny was perfectly comfortable with her head resting in certain someone's lap. She did however notice James watching her and raised an eyebrow. Huh, whatever it was it probably wasn't a big enough deal for her to move.

"Yeah James...you know only I can get a perfect 10," Sirius commented raising a hand to his chest. "Ah yes the 'we've won the game' look...quite familiar with it," he added quietly to his companion. His attention was drawn back to the present as the bomb was dropped taking him a little by surprise and he didn't know what to say at first especially when Lily asked them.
Lovebirds? Him and Gin...not...well not at the moment.
"Just two friends relaxing...nothing more," he finally managed to speak. "Congrats Mate...Lily," the animangus congradualated honestly. At least it meant they didn't have to deal with the lovesick James all the time and his antics. Thankfully the destracted entrance of May-lin brough the attention away from the two of them on the couch at least until James seemed to focus back on them. Sirius unconsciously mimicking Ginerva's own facial expression that he couldn't see from the angle he was looking.

Maylin blinked. Dumbledore had been over at her house three times during the summer and he had not mention a word of this. She bit her lip and made a mental note to talk to Dumbledore. He after all was always talking about honestly and trusting. 'Godfather you got some explaining to do.' she thought and she smiled. "May I cast a protection spell on your family? how about some secret guards Nathan has been working with lots of nice muggles maybe they could help." she said softly while thinking. Maylin usually thought without speaking, but lately she had to think before saying anything.
As Lily summoned her glasses she giggled as Lily put them on for her. "Thank you." she then blinked and smile. "I CAN SEE!!!" she semi yelled out of happiness. she looked down on herself and her eyes widened. "Oh I think i walked through bush, that would explain the pain." she said and continued to blink. she quickly took of her shoes and her smile did not fade once. "James is headboy? Wait headboy?" she asked and bit her lip her smile dropping a bit. "Oh dear that will make many people angry, there was a lot of talk last year of who the headboy should be." she said remembering the conversation she had avoided. for she truly had not known who would become the headboy.
Maylin nodded. She had, gone to see him once during the summer and only for business. Her brother who had not told her why had taken her. they both had chatted but things did not go anywere she had not been in the mood to talk to him about things he liked and she was completely different from him. "Trist sounds good, better Luci, Luci makes me think of girl, which reminds me that i need to put my stuff away that makes me hungry thankfully I got cookies." she said while kneeling down and opening up her bag. she carefully took out cookies and smile "Anyone care for any?" she asked
Maylin saw Ginerva look at her and she waved at her. then another smile spread on her face as she saw that she seemed happy. "Ello!" she said cheefully and showed her cookies. "Cookie?" she asked

Sirius's own stomach grummbled as Remus mentioned dinner, food was always welcome for he was a growing young man after all. He almost moved to join them but he couldn't with Gin's pretty face still on his lap.

Maylin giggled as James went straight for the cookies. She was hungry and nothing spoiled her apetitie. She was always hungry, then again she did as much exericise as a boy. Maylin enjoyed walking, running and spending her free time by the lake. She wasn't obsses with her looks, but she always had to release her energy before going to sleep or else a sleep walking Maylin was what would happen to the school and she enjoyed setting fires while she slept walk. her brother had told her it was a mechanism to protect herself since fire was what killed her parents. He always insisted it was a repressed memory. "Although i agree with Remus one cookie while we walked down to the tables won't hurt right?" she asked. "Besides it will be used as we walk and he will still be hungry and if not I will eat his yummies." she said rubbing her belly.
It was hard to imagine that james was headboy now. "James, be careful okay you have responsibility now, also you have to set an example for the first years so be careful what you do. Pranks and such do it while no one is looking." she told him pointing her finger at him. "Like brother says behave while people are looking and when they have their backs to you do something spectacular." she said grinning.
She looked at Remus. "No yummies before dinner then?" she asked. for some reason she was intimated by Remus maybe because like everyone else, they were older than her or because she was just concern since he reminded her of her brother. "So I guess veggies first then yummies..." she said wihle pouting. "Allons-y to dinner"she said raising her hand in the air "Lily come with me come with me." she said tugging on her arm like a little sister. "come with me come with me?" she asked in her cutesey voice.
Mary had gone straight into the girls dormitore and had stayed in her bed untils he heard someone say dinner. She slowly stood up and sighed. She hated being in Hogwarts for the first few weeks. She had always had to program her schedule to adapt to a different time zone. "Ah time zones why don't we all just live in a planet that keeps everything in the light and then in the dark." she said and stood up. She slowly headed for the common room where she saw her friends and Lily. "Maylin more sugar? Your brother told me to keep you away from it." she said in a tired voice then seeing everyone she smiled. '"Lets head out to dinner, and if I fall asleep please someone wake me up."

Remus sighed. "Fine, one cookie. But only to get James to shut up!" He let James go, laughing at the look on his face.
"Thank you Moony!" James said, running off to the box of cookies. Fishing one out, he started to speak.
"Now about what you said before, don't worry about me! I am planning to be a normal Head Boy, while the teachers watch, behind their backs I'll prank them. I can blame it on Peter or Remus anyway!" He said while he munched on the biscuit.
"Hey!" Remus said angrily. "You will do no such thing. Blame it on Sirius, he deserves it more!" Now Remus was grinning.
James heard Maylin talk to him, so he turned towards her. "No problem with that! Your brother scares me so I'm not taking my chances! Besides, how could I break the heart of Lily-flower?" He grinned, looking at Maylin.
"Oh you know you could accidentally do something stupid like having me break my leg while playing a mock-quidditch game." Lily laughed - she knew there were potions that could heal that she just wanted to see James squirm. "But my bone-repair potion is spectacular you should know." She looked to three three Marauders she liked talking to.

Sirius unconsciously mimicking Ginerva's own facial expression that he couldn't see from the angle he was looking.
Ginny smiled at Sirius's comment. She was glad the attention had been diverted for however long it was - even if it wasn't for that long. At least she wasn't the eye of anyone scrupulous attention being watched, graded, the works because of what someone said in jest.

Maylin nodded. She had, gone to see him once during the summer and only for business. Her brother who had not told her why had taken her. they both had chatted but things did not go anywere she had not been in the mood to talk to him about things he liked and she was completely different from him. "Trist sounds good, better Luci, Luci makes me think of girl, which reminds me that i need to put my stuff away that makes me hungry thankfully I got cookies." she said while kneeling down and opening up her bag. she carefully took out cookies and smile "Anyone care for any?" she asked
Maylin saw Ginerva look at her and she waved at her. then another smile spread on her face as she saw that she seemed happy. "Ello!" she said cheefully and showed her cookies. "Cookie?" she asked
"You better be scared, he said that if anyone hurt lily, or any of my friends they would have to responce to him." she said imitating one of her brothers faces and her finger in the air. "He can be scary, but he is also a sweet guy he is just odd." she nodded and smiled. "Lily flower?" she giggled. "Cute."

"So I guess veggies first then yummies..." she said wihle pouting. "Allons-y to dinner"she said raising her hand in the air "Lily come with me come with me." she said tugging on her arm like a little sister. "come with me come with me?" she asked in her cutesey voice.
Mary had gone straight into the girls dormitore and had stayed in her bed untils he heard someone say dinner. She slowly stood up and sighed. She hated being in Hogwarts for the first few weeks. She had always had to program her schedule to adapt to a different time zone. "Ah time zones why don't we all just live in a planet that keeps everything in the light and then in the dark." she said and stood up. She slowly headed for the common room where she saw her friends and Lily. "Maylin more sugar? Your brother told me to keep you away from it." she said in a tired voice then seeing everyone she smiled. '"Lets head out to dinner, and if I fall asleep please someone wake me up."
That was when Gin heard Mary's voice, and bounded up even faster. She walked over, slowly swaying her hips somewhat as she walked. It was a move she did when, well when she was near Sirius to be frank. She laughed at Mary's comment and smiled. "Well that way its not ten am somewhere and dark - so am always means morning then." She joked.
"Mary its brilliant to see you again." Gin smiled, stepping to the side so that she wouldn't get knocked over like a domino when Lily came running over to hug her best mates. It was a good thing to have all the best girlfriends together in one place.
Lily turned hearing Mary McDonald's voice. She was yet another muggle-born gryffindor girl and that made her oh-so-happy to see her best friends together all of them in one place.
"Mary-Mac, its brilliant to see you love!" Lily walked over giving her a large hug.

She couldn't help but smile as Sirius echoed her simple greeting back. Though he didn't wave, she got the picture, he'd definitely gotten a good laugh at the idea of her simple hi to him when he'd commented about food. Obviously that mean the animagus was hungry. No one else of her friends knew of his ability - that was probably because he'd told her not to tell anyone. You don't exactly mean to look out the window during a full moon and see a dog transform into a topless friend of yours. She smiled at this. That was the first time she'd seen him without a shirt on and well, that was to say the least breathtaking.
Gin smiled over to Sirius as he stood up and commented about James and Sugar. It was true more sugar he'd be up yammering away about Lily - and probably how thoroughly he wanted to snog her. She followed suit walked through the portait hole and stepping out into the damp hallway outside. It was always damp being a castle that is.
She smiled looking at the portrait for some reason leaning on Sirius made her happy, and she had no clue why - or no clue she'd admit to in front of him for fear of accidentally saying it aloud. As she often did.
"So what do you think they'll have tonight?" She asked laughing she always loved the food they had on Halloween more than anything else. It was sweets. Nothing but sweets.
Lilykins? Lily thought furrowing her eyebrows, "Don't call me Lilykins? Please? My sister Petunia called me that." She lifted her lip in disgust thinking of how she had been taunted by her for so long after Petunia didn't get into Hogwarts.
"Call me Lily, Lil, or even Evans, or Evs the things you used to." Lily blushed as she said this she didn't want to be harsh or anything. She couldn't help but laugh at the nickname that Sirius gave James - in a sense it probably made him feel as wretched as Lilykins made her feel. She didn't like being dragged to the great hall - but she knew James was probably trying to boast to the entire school - portraits and ghosts included that he was dating Lily.
Peter looked over to the rest of the people in the common room and leered. Pretty soon he wouldn't have to deal with their mocking words, their looks of discontent, as well as those of disdain and downheartedness in him. Soon he'd prove he was worthy at those meetings with the death eaters. He was a pure blood, and well, Lily turning him down for dating him - made him turn against muggleborns in general. Yes he, Peter Pettigrew had asked Lily Evans on a date and she had said no. Instead she'd dated some tool, he didn't care. He wanted her done, gone, out of his life, out of his world, out of existence in general.
Still he had to play the part. The part that read he was happy for his friend James Potter - when he wanted to rip his throat out right then for dating the girl he'd liked since first year. The girl he'd told no one he liked because she was so beneath him in the rank of wizarding world. She had no lineage. She was not the son of a wizard, she was the daughter of a muggle lawyer.
Still turning on the fake charm - that always reaped of rotten falseness he walked to the great hall with the group. His eyes held, locked in a glaring match with the back of Lily's head.

Maylin nodded and let go of Lily quickly. She knew that things were going to be different and she was not going to be allowed to steal Lily from James. She then giggle at the thought of a tug a war over Lily. Maylin vs James. maylin begun to giggle and she blushed hoping that they would not judge her as she laughed alone and no one knew why. "Trist can be sweet on occasion..." she mumbled and then nodded. "But I would keep him away from secrets, he knows now what my middle name is and he wont stop threatning me..." she said and shook her head. Her thoughts went back to wondering what was for dinner. Suddenly her stomach rumbled and she shhsed it.
"Nathan is just worried, sometimes I wish he wasn't such good friends with people because for some reason everything that I know he knows. When i broke my arm he found out, when i kis..." she blushed. "He finds out about everything i am going to find the person ratting me out and they will hear a few words and some cookies." she said again her mind back to the food.
"but, but, but Lily its cookies you cannot say no to the puppy eyes." she said making them. She then quietly moved away to hide in case Lily would give her a stare as if to say don't help."Eep." she said as she hid just in case.

"What happened to the sun never sets on this country?" she asked quoting her old muggle history books. "I cannot handle drastic time changes, ahh time is an evil thing. I shall find a cure for jetlag." she told gin and gave her a side hug as she expected to be tackled by both lily and maylin. "Same to you, I have been waiting for a good time to tell you that we need a rope for that one." she pointed at Maylin. "her brother said that she went to the hospital and we should keep her away from too many sweets." she informed her friends. Mary was a responsible young lady and she was the one parents, and siblings trusted to keep their family members out of trouble.
Maylin heard Mary and she smiled. "MARY!!!! No wait I picked up a new word from kevin. UNNIE!!! It means sister in Korean i believe." she said and gave her a huge hug pulling her off her feat for a bit. "Nathan will die he is messing with my sweets!" she pouted and allowed Mary to escape. She then move over to Gin and hugged her. "Finally I get to give you a hug as well." she then hugged her and moved to the door. "LET

"its about time, that those two got together now there shall be some peace and quiet, although i am worried does Severus know?" she asked Gin as she followed Remus, jamed, Lily and mayling. "What about you what been going on while I slept?" she asked her. "Sorry but i did not get to mail you mom is terried of owl's and birds so i had to send my owl with someone else." she told her.

Gin looked over to Mary and laughed, "No haven't seen Severus all day thankfully - however we have pranking privileges!" She beamed. She loved pranking it was her most prized hobby.
"Lily told us in the common room before you showed up she said we can prank him as long as we don't kill him." She nodded, smiling. Then with a laugh she added, "we also are allowed to prank Cathrine 'Cat' Valentijn." She rolled her eyes. "She really hurt Lily earlier today." And explained how Cat had tripped Lily cutting her forhead open.

Alex had left the common room as soon as Potter shouted that he was dating Lily. Alex would've done something that he was going to regret if he would've stayed there. He did not want to lose Lily as friend. After all, he did have feelings for her.
Before he knew it, he was in the Great Hall. Somehow in his rage he'd made it down here. He took a seat and started to try and calm himself down. Didn't want to punch Potter in front of the whole school. Or did he?

"Hmm does it really matter?" he mused in response to Gin's question of what would be served. Food was food for the most part. There were times when the form of a dog would be useful and making the trek down from the seventh floor common room down to the ground floor Great Hall was one of them for even a slow jog as a canine would be faster then a human walk. But the leisurely pace they set once they caught up with James and Lily was an easy enough one to stick with that it wasn't wearing on body. And the company helped for Sirius had to admit that it felt good to be around those that he was at the moment...his family of sorts that he enjoyed and cared more then his pureblood-loving stuck-up mostly Slytherin blood-relations. "Ah...its nice to be back," Sirius absently remarked as they walked down the stairs.

Remus slowed down his steps to be in line with Sirius. "You know Gin is totally into you right?" He said quietly.
Suddenly as Maylin started walking next to him, he stopped from going on with his conversation. "Hey Maylin." Remus said with a small smile.
James slowed down, because after 4 floors of running he had gotten tired. Hearing Lily say not to call her Lilykins, he nodded. "Fine, but I can call you Flower, or Petal or some other name that is related to flowers and Lilies!" James said, his sugar high still not stopping him from being kind... sort of...

Gin took a moment to think about if it actually did matter. Then with a laugh she answered Sirius.
"No it doesn't." She laughed. "I might just transfigure a cookie or something like a plate of biscuit into Peppermint Patties!" She smiled. He of course, along with all the other friends of hers knew of her utter love for Peppermint Patties and peppermints in general. Lots of times you'd see her walking with them, eating them, changing other foods into them so she'd have more of them.
And occasionally pouting when she was out of them.
"See you guys in there," she laughed as she upped her speed a bit. Running almost into Alex as she walked into the great hall. "Hello Alex" she called cheerily, then gave him a soft, sorry expression. "Sorry about them, if you need me to transfigure a pile of stale chips into peppermint patties i'll do that with you!" She smiled. Knowing he would probably get a kick out of her sharing her favorite sweet with him.

Then turning to James, she smiled, and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. That was right before they stepped into the great hall.
"Alex!" Lily called when she saw him he had left oh so quicky. "Give me a second," she turned to James and smiled. "Hey, Alex whats wrong?" She asked giving him a worried expression. She didn't want her friend to be hurt. "Is this about Potter asking me out?" She asked, knowing he didn't like Potter - but not knowing the reason.
Gin was already there talking to him.
Peter stepped into line with Sirius and Remus. And very darkly spoke, something wretched as was common with him nowadays. "Yeah you are lucky. Atleast you've got someone mate." And that was it. That was all he said, before he continued to sulk, staring at the ground in front of him. He thought life might be easier as a rat. Indeed only having a little hamster-wheel life would probably be easiest ever.

Gin took a moment to think about if it actually did matter. Then with a laugh she answered Sirius.
"No it doesn't." She laughed. "I might just transfigure a cookie or something like a plate of biscuit into Peppermint Patties!" She smiled. He of course, along with all the other friends of hers knew of her utter love for Peppermint Patties and peppermints in general. Lots of times you'd see her walking with them, eating them, changing other foods into them so she'd have more of them.
And occasionally pouting when she was out of them.
"See you guys in there," she laughed as she upped her speed a bit. Running almost into Alex as she walked into the great hall. "Hello Alex" she called cheerily, then gave him a soft, sorry expression. "Sorry about them, if you need me to transfigure a pile of stale chips into peppermint patties i'll do that with you!" She smiled. Knowing he would probably get a kick out of her sharing her favorite sweet with him.
Alex just looked up at Gin. She was such a good friend. He nodded his head and turned back to the empty table in front of him. He hoped that it would fill with food soon. He couldn't help but crack a slight smile at her next comment. "Thanks but no thanks. I don't like those so much." He would eat them if he had too, but they weren't his favorite.
And then Lily was next to him. "Nothing." He laid his head down on the table and looked in front of him. He ignored her last question. He didn't want to talk about that right now. That was what he was trying to forget.

Sirius laughed himself as Ginerva agreed with him on the matter of food as well as her plan for an unsuspecting plate of biscuits when she got done with them. "You and your peppermint," he commented with a playful shake of his head before nodding in understanding as she took her leave of them and rushed up ahead.
Walking for a bit by himself, he watched as Remus slowed down to walk with him, turning to face him as he spoke. "Gin?" he asked momentarily glancing ahead at the girl as if unsure of his friend's words. Though as he turned in the opposite direction as Peter did the same and confirmed it it seemed all so true and he looked once more ahead.
Could he be so blind not to have noticed it before or at least admitted it to himself? He questioned it in his mind, pausing at the doors to the Great Hall as his feet stopped almost on their own.

Her and Maylin had taken a fancy towards Severus he was infact a sweet guy and Maylin had suggested that if in the future Lily and James were to date Severus would most defenetly regress and all the progress that they had made would be lost.
“I believe that we should leave Severus alone for a bit.” She told her and when she heard about Cat her eyes widened. “SHE IS GOING TO DIE!!!” she yelled and she bit her lip. “First thing is first we need to get Cat back and send her a message that no one messes without friends.” She told her.

Peter stepped into line with Sirius and Remus. And very darkly spoke, something wretched as was common with him nowadays. "Yeah you are lucky. Atleast you've got someone mate." And that was it. Maylin heard what Lily said and released the air “YAY I GET YUMMIES!!!” she said happily and smiled at Mary. She then giggled. “More yummies for me that is good I get food and sweet YAY!” she said and smiled while practically bouncing.
Mary heard Lily and groaned “Lily why? Do you hate me? MJ on sweets is a nightmare.” She took in a deep breath. “She gets nightmares when she has too many sweet then I end up sharing a bed and don’t get any beauty sleep.” She said with a smile.
When Maylin saw the kiss she giggled. “JAMES AND LILY AR-“ suddenly she felt as if a hand was covering her mouth and she saw Mary.
Mary shook her head. “remember what we talked about.” And she nodded. “Don’t say anything then.” She nodded once more and she allowed Maylin to talk.
“I’m a dummy!” she told Mary and hit her head “Dummy.” She uickly said and continued to walk. “Sorry Mary." She said and then heard Peter. "PETER KUN!!!" Maylin yelled and ran towards him giving him a hug. "I got you a gift from the places I traveled." she told him while pulling him towards Lupin.
