Hey there , Gracie again. This is my third drabble thread, my other two are not yet finished but coming along nicely (they can be found here and here).
With Halloween around the corner and a new Mini-Challenge posted, you could say I was a little bit inspired and decided I didn't want to make just one or two Halloween drabbles, but rather a series. Halloween was always so fun as a kid - the costumes, trick-or-treating, carving pumpkins and baking the seeds! You name it, it was fun. So, using any and all of my own characters (as well as some of their friends with permission from their creators), that's just what I'm going to do! Happy reading.

"I want to be a witch!" Four-year-old Savannah happily declared as they walked past a shop with costumes hanging in the window. "With a plastic cauldron."

Tripping over her own foot, the small girl's attention was torn from the pretty black and purple dress and matching pointed hat. "You alright, Ducky?" Conner's voice asked near her ear, his hand taking hers to pull her up.

As she nodded, another sibling spoke up. "You already are a witch." Nikolas pointed out, and Regina butted in: "Well, that's not very clever."

"I think that's a wonderful idea, Savannah." Grandma Shaina smiled warmly.

"Mom, mom, mom, mom!" Regina looked up from papers on her desk to see her son leading his little sister by the hand into her office, a white sheet much bigger than either children draped over the girl's head, engulfing her completely.

"Be careful with her, Nono." Regina said as Brookelyn's foot caught on the sheet and she nearly tripped.

"Mooooom!" Nobel dragged the word out, waiting for his mother's full attention before continuing. "I know what Boo should be for Halloween."

"And what's that?"

"A ghost!"

As if they had practiced, Brookelyn threw the sheet off and shouted: "BOO!"

"Sav, you've gotta dig in deep and pull up like this-" David demonstrated, holding up a handful of pumpkin guts.

Savina made a face of disgust at the orange glop. "I'm allergic." She said simply.

"To what, pumpkins?" David asked, giving her a skeptical look.

"To all things orange." Lorraine offered, a small smirk playing on her lips.

Dropping her attempt at scooping out pumpkin insides, Savina looked up at her friends with a 'you've got to be kidding me' look.

She was a redhead, for crying out loud! "All things orange.." She scoffed.

And they thought she was strange.

"Daddy!" Melody called, running through the house with her teddy bear, Mopsus, tucked safetly under her arm, snout and little button nose smacking the wall as she went.

Finding her parents in the family room with baby Xavier, Melo plopped herself down on the floor in front of Remmy, holding up a pair of black socks.

At six-years-old, Melo was old enough to put her socks on by herself but Remmy didn't seem to mind and took them from her little hand.

"Look, daddy!" The curly redheaded child said, excitedly pointing out the pumpkins on either side of her ankles.

It was October again, and the only difference between last year and this year's pumpkin patch visit was Andy Russo was not present.

No, he was not. And he had no good excuse to leave them with Vernon and their mother.

"You okay, Mo?" Carter asked, a look of concern flashing over his face when she glanced up at him and then quickly away.

"Yeah, I'm okay." That was a complete lie. She was angry at their father. How could he not be here? He'd promised.

"Come on guys!" Ariel called, waving from behind a big pumpkin she was guarding.

Bouncing down the hall, Shaiann peeked her curly haired head into each room as she past. It wasn't until she reached the last room with the door already wide open that she found her parents standing near the closet door.

"Mummmyyy." Shaiann mumbled, hugging her mother's legs as she brushed light brown strands from her face. Baby blue eyes were fixed upon her father as he pulled on a red plaid shirt over a white undershirt.

"Mummy. Daddy looks like the pumpkin scarecrow guy outside Mrs. Wonderley's house."

Nicole smiled lovingly down at her daughter. "He does?"

"Yes." Shaiann nodded.

"Coooold!" Lissy's voice came out sounding a bit whiny, though on purpose as she bounced forward and kept perfectly in step with her twin and adopted brother. "It's cold!"

"It's October-" Gabriel started, unaware of the lifted tree root in his path, the boy's foot caught and into the fancy bush he went.

"And fall, yes I know." Lissy laughed as they pulled Gabe up. "You'd make a good shrub, ya know? For Halloween."

"I don't think Professor Roux would agree." Lydia murmured, brushing a leaf from the boy's hair.

Their Herbology professor wouldn't be impressed with the bushes damage.

"You're in the Library." Angelina Brenin of Hufflepuff stated.

"Uh-huh," Replied her fellow Third year, barely looking up from her parchment.

"Doing homework." Angelina continued in the same puzzled tone, as if thoroughly confused by the Gryffindor.

"..Uh-huh." The redhead repeated.

"Agie?" The girl asked, pausing a moment.

"Yes, Angie?" Finally, Agatha set her quill down and turned dark eyes on her friend, giving Angelina her full attention for she obviously wanted it for something.

"It's Halloween."

"Yes, it is."

"And you're in a Library. Doing homework. On Halloween."

"You've said that already." Agatha pointed out.

"But Agatha, it's Halloween!"

Using Charms, the stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hope that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

A little light magic helped to decorate the tree, and as Lydia went to open another box of decorations, hoping for more ornaments for their Grandmother's giant tree, none other than Lissy popped out and screamed!

Waving her arms and grinning mischievously, Lydia's dark eyes went wide and she stumbled back, falling straight into their older brother, Phi.

"Lissy Lindsy Mae!" Several shouted, annoyance quite clear. Lydia frowned, declaring: "It is almost Christmas, not Halloween! That wasn't funny, Lissy Mae."

Step. Step. Trip.

Her foot caught on the too long, silk gown and down she went. "Oww." Mumbled the little girl, pushing herself back up. Her small hand reached blindly in the dark open space.

"You okay?"

The frown on six-year-old 'Princess' Maria's face faded a bit as she felt Wilson take her hand, nodding her head.

"Are your shoe laces untied, Mars?" Roger asked from the opposite side, grasping her other hand.

"No. I just can't see any stars." Maria announced.

But with her older brothers guiding her through the night toward the other trick-or-treating children, she was safe.

"Have you seen Nevaeh?" Zachary asked, entering the kitchen with four grocery bags absolutely bursting, filled with nothing but candy.

"She's putting Noel down for a nap." The young man's mother answered, relieving him of the bags and began to sort through them as he turned and left, making his way to the baby's room.

It took a moment for Nevaeh to notice anyone else was in the room, and she only spared him a glance. "Isn't he precious?"

Zachary smiled. "Yeah, Nev. He'll be the cutest pumpkin out tonight."

"Happy Halloween, Baby Noel." Nevaeh whispered to her sleeping son.

"That is NOT snow," Madison exclaimed in shock as little white flakes began to fall from the sky. "It's not even November yet!"

Eying the man at her side as he chuckled, Madi's nose wrinkled in a displeased manner. "You've got to be kidding me."

In front of them a little cow boy stuck his tongue out, trying to catch snowflakes. "Can I make a snowman?" Koda asked excitedly.

"Why don't you work on making a snowball first," Wesley suggested, while Madi continued to murmur.

"Only here would it snow on Halloween. If we were back home-"

"You are home."

Sitting at the counter, five-year-old Jasmine looked excitedly from the white and orange cupcakes to her mother, filling the icing bag with cream cheese frosting.

It was October and with All Hallows' Eve fast approaching, the employees of the family bakery were hard at work creating treats worthy of the holiday theme.

With bright eyes, Jasmine took the icing bag her mother held out to her and carefully squeezed, watching the frosting ooze from the tip and make a messy swirl.

"Did I do it right, mama?"

Johanna smiled gently, lovingly. "That's perfect, it's the best cupcake I've ever seen."

"Why aren't you at the celebration?" Lydia's quiet voice broke the silence that had fallen when the other girls had finished dressing and left the dormitory.

It was Halloween, Lissy's absolute favorite day of the year. Anyone who knew Lissy, knew she had been looking forward to this day for weeks.

But instead of being with everyone else, she was sitting in front of the open window, watching the sky. Waiting.

"You're expecting an Owl from that Eli boy." Lydia said when Lissy shrugged. It was not a question, it was a statement.

A little smile formed on Lissy's lips.

"Awh! Isn't he the SWEETEST?" Grandma Drewery absolutely cooed. "I could just eat you up!"

Nevaeh watched her grandmother, Baby Noel's great-grandmother squish him to her with a mixture of utter happiness that the elderly woman was getting to meet her child for the first time and concern that she was actually going to try to eat him.

Grandma Drewery had a sweet tooth and well.. perhaps she shouldn't have dressed Baby Noel up in a Pumpkin costume.

As Zachary walked back into the room, Nevaeh snatched the candy bowl from his hands and offered it to their Gran. "Candy?"

"Hey, Lissy!"

Turning as her name was called, Lissy waited for the owner of the voice to catch up and fall into step beside her before greeting him cheerfully, "Hey Matteo!"

For a moment they walked in silence, Matteo glanced at the blonde beside him and nudged her side. A sheepish grin appeared as she looked up at him, "Why do witches fly on brooms?"

If it were not October, her classmates' question probably should have alarmed her. He was a Muggle, after all.

"Why?" Lissy asked, playing along.

"Vacuum cleaner cords aren't long enough."

Silence.

"Not funny?"

"Not really."

Weddings were practically a normalcy in their family than it was a big special event.

It was definitely big, and it was still very special but while other kids their age would say they might have been to one or two or no weddings before, Lissy had been to many. And she was only ten.

And while many little girls dreamed of Princes on white horses, Lissy did not. So the looks she received from her siblings was no surprise when she announced, "When I'm grown, I'm going to marry my future husband on Halloween."

It was the perfect day.

"What are we going to be for Halloween?" Lissy said, mostily thinking outloud though her gaze did flicker toward her twin sister.

"I've got it!" Lissy shouted after the shortest second in history of thought process. "We'll dress up as Witches!"

Lydia couldn't help the confused little look she wore. "We are Witches though,"

"That's the point! We can dress up in robes and wear a pointy hat and carry wands, and not get in trouble!"

Lydia wasn't so sure. "But neither of us have a wand."

Mischief was practically visible in Lissy's eyes. "I'm sure we can fix that."

The orange mane was soft beneath her fingers, adjusting the hood on her son's head while he played with his tail, trying to pull it out from behind him.

The toddler's mother simply smiled. A loving, motherly smile that earned a bigger smile and loud giggle from the child in front of her, as though she had said something very funny albeit she hadn't uttered a single word.

Savina gave a small laugh, too, as her husband watched on in amusement from where he stood against the door frame.

"Now what do you say when someone answers the door?"

"Roooooar!"

Sitting a window seat within the nursery that overlooked the front of their quite beautiful home, the now very grown up blonde rubbed her swollen tummy fondly as blue eyes gazed outside. The trees were colorful, and already losing their leaves to the pathways below. A sight that made her smile, an energetic, mischievous smile.

Oh, the memories.

"So look, you two-" Lissy's voice came out soft in the room, "-I know you're eager to join us in the world, but trust me, we can wait this out just a little longer. Wouldn't it be fun to have Halloween birthdays?"

Spells were flying this way and that in what could only be described as a violent light show, though with a purpose to harm - Ember, much older than her actual dreaming self, ran for cover behind a large statue - unfamiliar with her surroundings.

Where was Colton? Where was Kadyn? Hazel eyes swept the battlefield, only pausing as she found one of the two men - a streak of red preparing to hit him square in the chest. "KADYN!"

Waking herself with a cry, the seven-year-old sat upright in her bed, carefully untangling the blanket from around her legs.

Once freed from her bed, Ember raced from her room and down the darkened hall toward her twin brother's room, pausing only long enough to quietly let herself inside without waking up their mum or dad.

Sniffling, tears still sliding down her paled cheeks, the small brunette shook her brother awake before climbing up onto his bed. "What is it, Em?" The blonde asked sleepily, rubbing at his eyes.

"I had a bad dream.." Ember whispered sadly.

"It was just a dream," Colton reasoned, frowning. "Probably from the scary stories we were telling earlier."

"Can I stay with you tonight?"
