{1. Herbology}

Twelve-year-old Eugine de Boncour giggled as she walked into Herbology with her best friend, Abigail Jerdin.

"Five days and I'm THIRTEEN!" The girl squeaked, hugging her book to her chest.

Abigail grinned. "I know!"

"Boo!"

Jean-Pierre and the new kid, Loris Dupont jumped infront of the girls. Eugine and Abigail threw their books in the air, in fright!

"Creeps!" Eugine bellowed, glaring at Jean-Pierre and Loris.

"Oh c'mon! Why don't you and me hang out sometime?" Loris flirted with the girl.

"Gross!" Eugine ran away into Herbology, Abigail run right behind her, leaving Jean-Pierre laughing at the blushing Loris Dupont.

{2. Muggle Studies}

Now thirteen, Eugine dangled her feet in the lake.

The cold lake.

She finished the Muggle Studies essay with a sigh. “Hard, that essay...” A boy's voice said from behind her. Loris.

“I'm Loris Dupont.”

Eugine glared at the ground. “I know!” He sat down next to her. Her breath caught in her throat. “I'm sorry about the other day...” Sigh. “I guess it's okay...”

“Can we just be friends?”

“Sure.” Loris smiled. “Help me with my essay?” “Sure...”

And so, the two became best friends over a Muggle Studies essay.

{3. Transfiguration}

Eugine nudged him and Loris looked up at the glaring teacher. "Mr. Dupont!" Her accent was mixed french and Scottish so it sounded something like 'Missssteerrrr Juuuuuumonnnttttttt!'

He gulped and Eugine squeezed his hand under the table. He looked at her and his eyes showed emotion that she couldn't understand. The professor cleared her throat. "Get on with it!" He waved his wand and Eugine turned into a dodo. She squawked a couple of rude words and Loris whimpered at the sight of his best friend.

{4. Ancient Runes}

She grimaced. Squawk. Squawk. Eugine glared pointedly at Loris. Squawk. "It should be going now." She lay in the scratchy sheets. He handed her a blood red tulip. "T-the c-c-c-c-colour of your l-l-lips..." She raised an eyebrow and he turned scarlet.

Loris sat down next to her and started to say, "I've been thinking..." When a voice boomed,

"LORIS DUPONT! PLEASE COME TO YOUR ANCIENT RUNES CLASS!"

Eugine smiled and stroked his cheek, then he ran off huffing to his least favourite lesson.

5. Astronomy

~1 year later

“Loris!”

He jumped. “Yeah?” Eugine turned red with anger. All he thought about was that stupid creep of a girl who he was going out with. “Dammit! Concentrate! Stop thinking about that fake!” Loris laughed and raised his eyebrows. “Why? Jealous?” Eugine went red, bellowed that he was a jerk, stood up and turned on her heel.

The fake redhead ran down and kissed Loris, though he couldn't help imagining that it was Eugine he was kissing!
