93. chicken

The five year old redhead let out a hearty laugh at the angry Asian girl who was pouting beside her, "You are a chicken!"

"Am not! And you are not very nice!"

"Am so! You don't even know me!"

"Well you don't know me either! And I'm not a chicken!"

Just then two pairs of voices called out to their respective daughters out in the distance, "Kurumi!" "Selina!"

The two girls huffed. The redhead stuck out her tongue and they ran away from one another. As the little Asian girl ran away from the ginger she muttered, "Am not chicken."

72. vex

Selina stormed into the room looking angrier than a Hippogriff during molting season. Eyes ablaze, her eyes darted around the room, piercing the curtains and blankets like knives.

"Hollingberry, where is he?"

Kurumi knew that she was in trouble. Selina never referred to her in that manner unless something was serious...but she hadn't done anything wrong. "H-H-He?"

"The monster that used my broom as a scratching post. I know he is in here, now find him so I can hex his tail off."

Kurumi's violet eyes widened. "At least he didn't pee on ---"

"Don't you vex me too!"

15. room

Kurumi walked around the room with not one tear stain on her cheek. All of the people there looked curiously at Kurumi. It was unlike her to be so emotionless, then again. This was no ordinary place, this was no ordinary room.

There, sitting on the opposite end of the room, was a black box. Inside it was a memory, a friend, a comfort- Selina. She had gone first. Kurumi's wrinkles never looked as profound as they did at that moment.

Kurumi walked around the room with not one tear stain on her cheek. At 147 it was hard to cry.

8. potions

"Not happening."

"Come on Selina," Kurumi laughed, folding her arms across her chest and leaning against the table. "You are never going to pass your OWL like this."

Selina peered into the black mass and wrinkled her nose. "How about you just polyjuice into me and take it for me? You'll be helping the pride...probably save a life."

Kurumi rolled her eyes and pushed Selina back down on the stool.

"Only if you brew the potion that I take," she winked. "And brew it properly."

"Bloody glorified soup making," the red head grumbled poking the cauldron with her wand.

54. dare

"B-but Kurumi!" the sixth year redhead protested.

"No buts," the tiny asian girl retorted, "You have a dare."

Selina really hated Kurumi so much right now. She was stuck in a dare that she could not get out of, Kurumi had triple-dog-dared her. They had witnesses... this was serious.

Kurumi held out Selina's dare and laughed, "Unless you can't do it..."

"No I can!" Selina protested. She mumbled something under her breath and Kurumi looked at Selina confused. She smiled and said, "Nothing dear..." Then she unwrapped the awful, shiny chocolate frog wrapper and took one small, vomitous bite.

"EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!"

67. quell

"Potions OWL?" Kurumi asked, brush in had, as she stood behind Selina. The younger girl nodded and continued to look into the mirror. Kurumi could barely see herself behind the mass of red hair.

"I don't know how you did it," she shivered.

"Did what?"

"Survived it."

"Well, now you have too," Kurumi giggled, taking the brush to her friend's hair and attempting to tame the giant knot that was Selina's hair. "For the most part...I don't know how I am going to return your hair to normal." Not even Sleakeazy's Hair Potion was going to work this time.

69. slap

"I hate you!" Selina bellowed in Kurumi's face.

Kurumi's violet eyes brimmed with tears and she drew back her hand. In one fluid motion she slapped Selina across the face so forcefully that Selina's head snapped to one side.

Flexing her jaw, Selina turned back to Kurumi and said confused, "Oi what was that for? Kurumi, you are helping me practice for a scene in drama club... that was not in the script."

Kurumi wiped a tear and said, "No excuse, you should have never have said that to me..."

"B-but its scripted..." Selina whined.

Kurumi sighed, "Excuses, excuses Skylar."

25. sorting hat

Selina came into the common room looking to just kick back and relax after one of the harder practices she had run. Her team of lions should have seen it coming, Selina Skylar meant business this term and no one was safe. Just as she was about to flop down on the sofa, she noticed Kurumi hunched over working on something...long.

"Potions essay?" she asked, wrinkling her nose.

"No...a house song. Thought it would encourage house unity," Kurumi chirped in reply.

"Let's see," Selina said as she snatched the paper and began to read it over. "Kurumi...the Sorting Hat's prose are more eloquent."

60. Joke

Selina stormed the moving staircases an utter mess. Each step she took, her now water-logged shoes squeaked and swished; her hair was infested by strips of seaweed; her robes were now ruined and wet.

When she finally reached the Common Room, it did not take long to find Kurumi reading.

A soaked Selina sat beside her.

Kurumi looked up over her book, rolled her eyes and returned to her book. "Enjoy your swim Ariel?"

"I didn't mean to burn Walnut's tail..."

"What did you say to me? Oh yes, I think you need to learn how to take a joke..."

29. pensieve

"I didn't know your family had one of these," Kurumi exclaimed as she leaned over the shallow stone basin with Walnut held in her arms.

"It is sort of standard these days for a wizarding family to have one," Selina said, clearly proud of the feature in her home's study. "Want to give it a go? We could watch one of my father's Quidditch memories!" But the red-head didn't wait for Kurumi to respond and was already looking for the memory.

Kurumi leaned over a bit more to get a better look when she heard a lapping noise.

"Walnut! Do not drink that!"

49. yule ball

Gideon checked his pocket watch for the third time. He and Jonathan Kim were standing side-by-side all dressed up waiting for their girlfriends to come down so they could go into the Yule Ball.

Finally, after what seemed like hours, a soft pink saffron dress and a white silk dress glided down the stairs. For a moment it seemed the girls were walking toward their boyfirends until they walked into the Great Hall together.

Jonathan looked confused and yelled after them, "What are you doing?"

"We decided to go together... only made sense!" Selina yelled behind her back.

5. astronomy

"See anything yet?" Selina yawned as she adjusted the blankets wrapped around her. She then reached for her mug that had been filled with hot chocolate at the beginning of the night, only to find that it was dry as a bone now and sighed.

"No...OH!" Kurumi chirped as she peered through her telescope. "Something is..." The second year suddenly gasped. "Selina! We need to go out to the grounds now to catch a falling star before it gets hurt!"

Selina blinked at Kurumi before bursting into a fit of laughter. "It's not falling, it's shooting. It doesn't need to be caught."

44. ford anglia

Selina let out a huge yawn as she trudged around the old, dusty museum with Kurumi. Every step they took and every exhibit they looked at Kurumi got all misty eyed and spouted off some random facts about the artifacts they were looking at. The Golden Trio Exhibit was getting old as they moved into their eighth hour.

"...AND THIS is the Ford Anglia that Ron picked Harry up from at the Dursley's... Selina. Selina?" Kurumi said frantically.

When she finally found Selina she was sleeping in the backseat of the Ford Anglia... they were getting banned from the museum.

9. defense against the dark arts

Arms folded across their chests, the two men loomed over their daughters. Kurumi and Selina, dressed in their best dress robes, sat very still on the sofa.

"They are the worst sort of creatures," Charles said, speaking on behalf of both men.

"Perhaps even worse than dark creatures," Jake winced.

"But..." Kurumi protested.

"Nope, we know, we were that age once." Charles retorted.

"That is why you will be taking these with you to the Yule Ball."

"Pepper spray?" Selina asked, taking the object from her father's hands.

"Your best defense is to have a good offense," Charles nodded.

The girls looked at one another and sighed.

75. yodel

Kurumi forced a grin on her face as she sat wide-eyed at her friend in Selina's room. At the current moment she was listening to Selina demonstrate her "talent" at singing. Personally, Kurumi thought it sounded more like a cat being strangled than a coherent melody, but she could not verbalize that to Selina. One she was too nice to do so and second her ears were pounding too hard to think. It was bad.

When Selina finished she asked excitedly, "What did ya think?"

"Well... it was interesting..."

"Interesting...?"

"Well... oh bullocks, it was a dead cat yodel."

Selina noticed that Kurumi had been unusually quiet during their journey on the Hogwarts Express along with the small gasp that had escaped the 6th year's lips with the carriages had arrived to take them to Hogwarts. Selina didn't need to ask what Kurumi had seen, she knew because she could see them too.

"I hate being right," Selina muttered as she sat on her bed waiting for Kurumi to come up the stairs.

Soon the Asian girl was in the doorway, her eyes watering and body trembling. Selina stood and hugged her best friend.

"I know, Kurumi, I know..."

"How do you, you know, tell a boy you like him?" Kurumi blushed.

With an amused smirk Selina inquired further, "Are you asking me for advice on how to act around boys, Ms. Hollingberry?"

The fourth year prefect lost all color in her face, "Don't make this any worse Selina. I'm embarrassed."

"That much is obvious," she chuckled at Kurumi, "Okay... here's what you do: walk up to the guy, tell him you like him and then kiss him for everyone to see."

"Would you do that?"

"Merlin no, but you're asking me for advice. You never said good advice."

"Kurumi, you are taking this gossip rag way too seriously," Selina sighed as she crumbled paper up and threw it away in the waste bin. "You are not related to the Hogwarts house elves."

Kurumi sighed and flopped down on her bed. "B-B-But...it all fits! I spend more time in the kitchens than anywhere else, I bow, I hit my forehead when I make a mistake...which might as well be punishing myself..."

Rolling her eyes, Selina slipped her sock off and threw it at Kurumi.

"Ew...Selina! I don't want one of your socks! Why?" Kurumi groaned.

"To...free you from your house elf bonds?"

57. gape

Selina sat into her hip as she stood outside of Kurumi's room impatiently. As much as she loved her lion sister, the girl was taking forever and Selina was not a fan of patience.

Finally, tired of waiting, she slammed her open palm on the door and yelled, "Oi, Kurumi. Get your bum moving. If I get you there late, your Da will have my head."

The door suddenly swung open revealing Kurumi Hollingberry dressed in white. Her best friend gaped at her, she looked absolutely beautiful. Smiling sweetly, she offered her arm, "You ready kiddo?"

Kurumi nodded nervously, "Ready."

24. house elf

"Kurumi!" Selina called as she entered the common room, a rosy glow on her cheeks. The summer holidays had obviously treated the Gryffindor well. "So...tell me ALL about it."

Selina flopped down beside Kurumi and began to jab her best friend in the side. Yes, she meant ALL the juicy details about spending the summer with Jonathan.

"It was awful," Kurumi whimpered.

"Awful?! What did he do to you? Just say the word and I'll grab my Beater's bat," the redhead growled.

"His house elf hates me!" Kurumi wailed. This sort of thing just did not happen to her.

Kurumi was not nervous...Selina had been missing for three days and Kurumi couldn't find her best friend anywhere. It was not that she was worried, it was that she was worried a creature in the forrest had taken her and she would never see her again. So, no, she was not fearful for her friend's life at all...

Okay, maybe she was a tad nervous.

As she stepped inside the dorms she heard a small hiccup. Her head snapped to the side and there, underneath a pile of chocolate frog wrappers, was Selina covered in chocolate.

"HOW COULD YOU??"

Hunched over their books and parchment at the study tables, Kurumi was too focused on writing her Transfiguration essay on the speculation of what her animagus form would be, were she to have one, to notice that Selina had entered a vision. There was a boy, a boy with incredible hair, and then there was Kurumi. And then...

Selina suddenly snapped back to the present, eyes wide and jaw open. She looked at Kurumi pointedly. "Basilisk!"

"No, I was thinking my animagus form would be more like a hedgehog," Kurumi obliviously mused.

"No, I mean...um...never mind," Selina grumbled.

31. dressrobes

The redheaded sixth year groaned as Kurumi ran back into the dressing room to try on yet another dressrobe for the upcoming term dance. She flopped back in the seat where she had been parked for ages and whined, "Come on, Kurumi. We've been her for four hours! What makes you think the dress is here...?"

Behind the curtain, Kurumi's head popped out. With a snarl she said, "You listen here Selina Skylar- I am going to be just like a princess and you are going to sit there, smile, and deal with it! Got it?"

"Yes, ma'am, Cinderella ma'am."

Selina's hair was already frizzing and beyond the help of any brush. Any other subject the Quidditch Captain would have been fine, but this particular subject had the redhead wearingdragonhide gloves just to hold the book. Scowl on her face, Selina dropped the book on the study table and flopped in to her seat.

"Okay, motivate me professor," Selina said unconvincingly.

Kurumi set a bag of chocolate frogs on the table and Selina raised an eyebrow. "I said motivate me, not terrify me."

"I am. This is a warning to not make any brewing mistakes...or I let them loose."

53. chase

"WALNUT!" Selina screamed from the bathroom. The graduated Gryffindor girl ran down the hall to where her bathroom was and slid into the tiled room. When she entered she saw Selina in the tub with Walnut skipping away and out the door. The girl collapsed in a fit of giggles at Selina's appearance.

Selina furiously said, "THIS ISN'T FUNNY!"

Stifling her giggle, Kurumi questioned, "Did Walnut pee on your face?"

"Yes!" She said trying to regain her baring.

"Well... why?" She chortled.

"Because I tried to chase him away from my pizza!"

"Oh Selina," Kurumi laughed, "You should know better."
