Hello everyone! I'm Deniz (or Nizzy or 'Niz ^___^) and this will be my first drabble experience. In these drabbles, I'll write about the life of my ex-potions professor Cosgrach Culloden prior to his appointment at Hogwarts as an insight to his past. I hope you will like them!

"It's okay, mother. Marcus will pay for it."

Cosgrach smiled brightly. He had never been so amiable in ages. His sister was getting married to a rich guy who would save them all, pay their debts and restore the name 'Culloden' to its grandeur. However, he was going to have no part in it.

"We're buying this dress robe."

"Actually, no." He smiled sweetly. "I'm going away." He didn't say anything else, but before any of them could stop him, he got out of the shop and apparated.

He was sure he wouldn't be missed with the money of Marcus.

12. Charms
First year

A group of three boys entered the library. They walked without bothering to be quiet. A few heads turned in disapproval, but they didn't care. Their victim was focused on his own studying. The leading boy smirked to himself.

"Edward?" The boy looked up nervously. His hands were trembling. "Are you doing the charms homework?" Edward's head barely moved in fear.

"Do ours, too."

The boy's face turned even paler. "I-c-c-can't, I have -"

"Are you defying us, Eddy?" Soft. Threatening.

"No," the other boy breathed.

"You have until dinner."

The other two looked threateningly, and they all walked out.

6. Divination
Fourth Year

"Do you see us in there, beautiful?"

They were alone in the common room late in the night. She was sitting in front of the fireplace with a globe. She had repeated a few hundred times she liked to be all alone, but who didn't like his company? This was the third night he accompanied her. She was just playing the 'hard girl', he knew.

"I don't take divination, but I can tell this couple is us." He pointed at her globe.

She looked, smiled and in a blink of an eye, her wand was directed at him: "Petrificus Totalus."

15. Room
Fifth Year

Cosgrach looked forward to Christmas holiday, because he was SURE he was getting a new broom. He didn't sense anything when his sister took him home instead of his parents. All he wanted was -

WHY were these men taking THEIR stuff?

"What are you -"

"Cosgrach, stop! They are bailiffs, for our -"

No. It couldn't be. He had suspected something was amiss, but... they had endless money! He ran to his room. This wasn't real. It was just a terrible nightmare. His new broom had to be somewhere -

His brand new television was gone.

He began to scream.

5. Astronomy
Third Year

"So you don't deny kissing in the Astronomy Tower after curfew."

This was boring. He’d been in his Head of House's office for 30 minutes and the man insisted on being a complete idiot.

"See, prof, we were jus' studyin' for exams and -"

"- You decided to kiss."

"I wouldn't say kiss. A better phrase’d be -"

"Detention. Starting tonight after curfew. You won't skip classes to sleep in the morning."

His face hardened.

"My father -"

"I’m sure he’ll agree with me. Tomorrow. At 10 PM here."

He glared at the man. Wait till his father heard this!

35. Pureblood
Second Year

Cosgrach's face looked completely contorted and evil. His other two companions enjoyed this just as much. The Hufflepuff first year boy that was cornered by this trio was, on the contrary, sobbing.

"We're purebloods, Petey, whereas you're filthy. So you have to serve us. That's how wizarding world works."

"B-b-but I c-c-can't steal -"

"Petey, do you want to be cool like us?"

The boy barely nodded.

"Then you do this. Or else, the whole world will hear you're filthy. Don't cry, now. We got your back."

He winked, and they turned away to leave the boy to his sobbing.

27. Owl
Age: 18

Why hadn't he got an answer yet? It'd been two weeks. Cosgrach obsessively checked the copy of the application for mistakes. Their silence...

His heart leapt when he sighted an owl. He looked around to make sure he was alone. He didn't want his family to know. The owl landed on the kitchen table. The letter was addressed to him. He couldn't breathe. After an eternity, he finally untied it. He scanned it quickly, then read slowly. He finally read it loudly in joy. A happiness tear fell down.

He was accepted to US Wizarding University. His life was saved.

89. Past
Age: 20

"Tell me about your past."

They were sitting at an elegant café in New York to 'get to know each other'. Everything had been going well, until now. His face fell, but he was quick to put on a 'bad-boy' grin.

"Past is boring when we have the future."

"But, Cossy, past is what make you!"

His face hardened as he leaned away from her.

"I was the worst boy at school. Everyone hated me. That's my past, and how I’m made."

He was pleased to see his words cut her deeply. He got up, never to meet her again.

33. Classroom
Age: 15

Was the charms classroom especially hot, or was it the pitying looks at his back? He was highly aware of every stare, every whisper. 'His father gambled everything...had even their house taken away...

He clenched his fists.

'They had it coming...had it..'

He bit his lip.

'Lost everything...'

"Yes, we lost everything, but being poor isn't epidemic, I won't infect you!"

He was ready to punch anyone daring to meet his gaze, but no one did. He sat at the remotest corner of the classroom, and didn't even realise when the professor entered.

They would pay for it. They would.

57. Goblin
Age: 13

"Goblin riot in 1612 -"

"- killed the class!"

Everyone burst into laughter - well, almost. The professor was flushing in anger, which was even funnier and made his cruel laugh cruel and hysterical. The other person who wasn't laughing was the NERD who looked like a horse, so it was perfect.

"Mr. Culloden, do report to detention this time, or I'll -"

"Feed me to goblins?"

Another wave of laughter hit the class. Professor turned purple. It didn't matter, because Cosgrach was invincible. Nobody could touch Cullodens, let alone the only son. So he laughed and laughed, taking terrible pleasure in humiliating a professor.

100. Homework
Sixth year

“Alright, time’s up. For your homework, I want you to…”

Cosgrach wrote down the homework carefully. He had written down everything carefully during the whole lesson. It was much harder than he’d have thought, but it felt nice. This way, he didn’t have to think about the bailiffs or his ‘friends’; he was doing his own job himself. He cleaned his potions set and walked out.

“Hey Cossy, would you do our homework too for a little bit of money?” They all laughed.

Quickening his pace, he took the shortcut to the seventh floor as tears ran down his cheeks.

52. Bore
Age: 26
Place: Borneo Rainforests

This wasn’t working. He knew it wouldn’t, his cauldron was strong; he, himself, had specifically put on some strong protection charms so that even if he messed up big time (which he never did, mind you) the contents wouldn’t be able to bore a hole and leak. He let out a frustrated sigh and threw his wand away. It had been 4 hours since he was hexed to be stuck to it. He looked at his sleeping SOON-to-be EX-wife and found some solace: He knew that at least, her last 4 hours had been a nightmare – quite literally.

"Diffindo!"

82. Careful
Age: 35
Place: Kazakhstan

Cosgrach walked to his seat at the far end of his bar. Except, it was taken by a beautiful, young woman. His predator mode turned on.

"Hello, Miss," he greeted in Russian, "We are both alone, so shall we enjoy tonight together?"

She looked up and made a rude gesture. He grinned and sat down.

"Careful there, old man," she said, but allowed him to sit...

He woke up with a jolt for the third night in a row and looked at the empty side of the bed. Even though he had been a careful old man, his heart ached.
