#25 Sorting Hat
11 year old Ellie. First day of First Year.

Deep breaths.... Deeeep breaths.

Ellie's dad had told her, "No pressure". He had been in Slytherin along with Ellie's brother, James. But that didn’t mean Ellie had to be sorted there. And she had enough eleven year-old confidence that the Sorting Hat would place her wherever she would fit best.

But was she smart, like a Ravenclaw? Kind, like a Hufflepuff? Brave, like a Gryffindor? Cunning, like a Slytherin? It was her turn to find out.

Ellie climbed on to the stool, aware of every eye in the Great Hall on her, and anxiously awaited her fate.

”RAVENCLAW!”

#96 Socks
Fifth year Ellie and Dallin. Sixth floor corridor.

“Are you ready for this?” Dallin asked, clad in his comfy plaid pajamas. He had told Ellie to dress comfortably.

Ellie looked at him warily and then glanced at their shoeless feet. She eyed the empty corridor and the floor. They were going to, if all went well, slide down the hall. On their socks. With a big sigh, Ellie replied, “As ready as I’ll ever be.”

After zipping down the corridor at top speed, Ellie locked her knees, spread her arms and glided across the floor like a graceful swan... right into Dallin. And onto the floor.

“It worked...”

#23 Telescope
Fourth year Ellie, fifth year Braeden, Observatory.

Considering the Observatory was one of fourth-year-Ellie’s favorite places to be, it really wasn’t unusual to find her up there. However, it was unusual to find someone looking at the sun through the telescope.

Ellie arrived just in time to see the tall, lanky Gryffindor turn the telescope to the bright, fiery orb in the sky. Just in time to hear his girlish yelp.

But never fear, Nurse!Ellie is here! With some not-so-magical finger waving and pretending like she knew what she was doing, Braeden Stonem’s eyesight had returned to it’s full glory.

“You saved my life!” He exclaimed.

#27 Owl
11 year old Ellie. 15 year old James.

"What should I name it?" Ellie asked, staring at her new snowy owl with sparkling eyes. James was glaring at her sister. He didn't think it was fair that Ellie got a brand new owl and he had the old good-for-nothing deaf owl. That thing was stupid.

The white owl screeched."I don't care, just make it shut up." He grumbled. In the next second, the bird leaned forward and pecked James' hand, leaving a nice cut. James swore when it began bleeding, ruby red.

"I think I'll name her Ruby." Ellie giggled, skipping away.

78. Author’s Choice - Valentine’s Day
Ellie and Dallin, Valentine’s day, 2080

It was time to go, but suddenly Ellie didn’t want to go anywhere looking like this. She was standing in front of the mirror, frowning. Six months pregnant. And huge.

After several minutes, Ellie saw Dallin in the mirror walk up behind her and frown at her expression. “What’s wrong, babe?”

Ellie stared at her stomach. “I’m a whale,” She mumbled.

She felt Dallin wrap his arms around her stomach and the babies jumped inside of her. Ellie smiled, putting her hands on his. “Yes, but you’re a beautiful whale,” She heard him whisper. And that would have to do.

46. Dungeon
First year Ellie, eleven years old

If curiosity killed the cat, then Ellie would have been grateful she was human. She just wanted to know what the dungeons looked like. Her father had been in Slytherin and she wanted to see where he grew up as a student.

Ellie tip-toed' holding up her Ravenclaw robes from the floor. The dungeons seemed dark and dingy. And slightly smelly. She wrinkled her nose and turned a corner.

“BOO!” A tall seventh year old bellowed, popping out of a shadow.

Screaming her head off, Ellie darted out of the hallway, silently vowing to never step foot down there again.

77. Cheerful
Six year old Ellie, 10 year old James

Bounding through the house like a cute little bunny, Ellie skipped across the hall into her brother’s room and pounced on his bed.

“Jaaaaaames! Wake up, wake up!” She poked him six or twenty times, bouncing.

James groaned, pulling the pillow over his head. “What’s got you so cheerful?” He mumbled.

Ellie clambered on top of James and yanked the pillow off his head. “It’s my birthday, silly!” She squealed. Midst attempt to push Ellie off, she hopped away and James ended up rolling onto the floor instead.

With a giggle, Ellie bounded back out to wake up her parents.

86. Daring
Seventeen year olds, Ellie and Dallin. Summer of 2076.

Ellie was embracing her inner Gryffindor and being brave. Daring even. And this was a big deal; she wasn’t really a daredevil. Dallin nearly had to beg Ellie to do this. She had been so against it, but now she was there. On a surfboard.

Ellie was going surfing.

Yeah, that wasn’t really super scary. Only to Ellie. But she did it anyway. Paddled out to sea, just like Dallin had done, and rode the wave.

… Or got buried in the wave. After a few seconds, Ellie popped back up and spit out seawater. Yeah. Surfing? Overrated.

Dallin belongs to Syd.

80. Boggart
Thirteen year old Ellie, 17 year old James. Summer of 2073.

She was pointing her wand at Ellie, yelling, threatening and cursing. Tripping over her shoelace, Ellie fell backwards and landed on her backside, a small scream escaping her lips. Ellie pointed her wand at the 50 year-old woman, her hand was shaking.

“Ridd- Riddiku-” Ellie stuttered.

“Riddikulus!” James cast, and a giant blue viper sent hissed out of his wand, sending the woman back into the boggart’s trunk. Their grandmother had done enough damage to their family.

This was one of the times Ellie knew that her brother actually did love her, despite the other signs he showed.

24. House Elf
Sixth year Ellie, end of term feast.

What was that?! Ellie could have sworn she heard a little giggle coming from under the table. Peeking underneath, Ellie scanned the shadows for movement, but there was nothing.

When she sat back up, all the Slytherin banners came tumbling down. One fell over Ellie’s head, blocking the light. Ellie squealed, fumbling around in the giant tapestry, trying to get it off. And it was lovely that none of her friends around her seemed too keen on helping her out..

Ellie escaped just in time to hear the Headmaster announce the presence of a baby house elf in the castle.
