Hermione sat by her window and cried. Yes, it's been two years since his death, but she just keeps on wishing that this is just a long, horrible nightmare that's she's gonna wake up from.

Hermione looked outside to see it pouring rain outside. What a great time to cry, thought Hermione. " If only I could have stopped it. If only I could, he would still be alive..." Not long after, Hermione drifted off too sleep.

"Hermione, stop it. Stop blaming yourself. It wasn't your fault."

"Ginny, I was standing right there. I could have done something to stop that spell from hitting him."

" It's been years, Hermione. You've go-"

" I know that it's been years! Don't you think I know that? Every single day I think of him, and every single night I dream of him. I know he's gone. I've realised that. I'm just- I'm just having a hard time letting him go."

Ginny stayed silent. She could see tears streaming down Hermione's eyes. Ginny knew that Hermione was having a hard time. Hermione has been stressing herself with work.

"Hermione," Ginny said " would you like to stay for lunch? Harry will be here."

Without a second thought, Hermione declined. " I've got thing to do. Sorry Ginny. Tell everybody I said Hi. See you later."

Not long after her talk with Ginny, Hermione left to pick up some things. She had a bunch of books in her hand, but nobody knows why. Though you do have to remember, this is Hermione Granger.

" Let's see what- Oh sorry!" Hermione said as went down to pick up her books.

" It's okay." Said the voice.

'That voice sounds familiar. Where have I heard that voice before?' Hermione thought. She looked up only to see a pair of gray eyes staring at her.

"Malfoy?" She said.

"Granger!" He said.

" I surprised you didn't call me 'mudblood' ".

" Not even the word 'mudblood' could describe how dirty your blood is, Granger."

Hermione was furious. How dare he? This is a new low, even for him.

She did the only thing she could possibly think of. She slapped him so hard that it left a bright red spot on his cheek.

"Don't worry, Malfoy. This is just a small portion of what you'll be getting if you ever say something to me like that again. Got it?" And with that she continued to walk.

'Why did he look so cute? He looked almost...hot. Wait, Hermione. What are you thinking? This is Malfoy we're talking about. You know, the one who hates you and hate back. You can't like him. You just can't.'


I've read the 7th book and I know who dies, But I'm getting outside the box for a while. Can you guys guess who's dead? You guys are smart, so you probably already know.

OK. I know that it might be really soon to be posting, but I'm just not use to that kind of thing. I got many Pams and things saying to post soon, so that's what I did. Now here's the next chapter to "Torn". I hope you enjoy!

Hermione still had her mind on Malfoy. She tried to distract herself by reading, but that didn't work. She listened to music, unfortunately, that didn't work either. " Maybe I'll go to Ginny's. " She said. She got up and got ready. It didn't take long for her to finish. Just then, an owl flew through her her window and landed on a brown desk filled with paper. She was a brown owl with long feathers and she didn't look very happy. " Hey Ella, got something for me?" The owl hooted in response. On her left leg there was a piece of parchment.
It read:

Hey Hermione!
Listen, I've got great news. Meet me
down at the coffee shop in 15 minutes, alright?
See you later.
Emily
" Well forget about Ginny. Thanks Ella." Hermione said.

Hermione walked down to the coffee shop, which wasn't too far away from her flat. Hermione went inside to see Emily sitting down at a table at the far end of the shop. Emily was a girl about Hermione's age with dark skin and and dark brown eyes. They met only a year ago, when Hermione was 18.

"So Emily, I'm here. What's the great news?"

Emily didn't respond. " Uh, Emily? " Hermione said waving her hand in
front of Emily's face.

" He's so cute.'' She said in a whisper.

"Pardon?" Hermione said.

"He is. His name is Michael."

"And you know that how?" Hermione asked.

" Don't you know me? Don't you know that if there is a guy I like, I have to know some sort of information?"

"You boy crazy freak." Hermione said under her breath.

"What was that?"

"Oh nothing." Hermione said, putting on a fake smile.

"Anyway, I just found out that you got the job as head healer." Emily said.

"Are you kidding?"

"Nope. Nothing but the truth."

" Oh that's great! When did you find out?"

"Well today of course. Congrats. You deserved it."


To Hermione, this really was great news. She has wanted to be head healer for a long time. She knew that she would have to do more work, but was willing too.

Hermione was back at her flat reading when she heard the doorbell. She got out of her room and went to answer the door and to her surprise she saw a tall, muscular person standing at the door with blond hair and grey eyes.

"What are you doing here?" Hermione asked.

"What ever happened to being polite and inviting me in?"

"In case you noticed Malfoy, I didn't invite you to come in." Hermione gave in. "Oh fine. Come on."

"Thank you."

"Did I just hear a 'Thank you'?"

"Maybe."

"Well, that's so unlike you."

"To tell you the truth, you know nothing about me, Granger."

"Oh really? I may not know everything about you Malfoy, but I do know something." Hermione said.

"Oh really? And what's that."

"Let's see. I know that you are filled hatred for people that aren't purebloods. I know that - " Hermione was interrupted by Malfoy.

"You see, that's where you're wrong. There is one person that I don't hate who isn't a pureblood."

"And who's that?" Hermione asked, surprised at what she just heard.

Malfoy hesitated a moment before answering her question.
"You."

" What?!" She asked, dumbstruck.

" Oh come on, Granger. Don't act like you don't feel the same way."

"I don't! " Hermione said, lying.

"Really. Then can you tell me why you were blushing when you bumped into me the other day?" He asked, a smirk appearing on his face.

" That wasn't blushing."

"What was it?" Malfoy asked.

"Makeup! I used a lot of it that day!"

"Your face seemed natural that day. That means you had no make up." Draco said. "You know, you look quite beautiful with or without make up.

Hermione stood there speechless. Wow. Maybe she really didn't know him. Right now he just told her that she looks beautiful. It felt awkward hearing that from him, but sounded good as well.

"Thank you." She whispered.

And with that their lips met.

Nice story so far! A bit...crazed, since Draco is saying he hates her, then kisses her, but overall not too bad so far!

Ron died in the battle against Voldemort in his seventh year. In my story, Hermione is 19. Crazy that she still cries over Ron, who in my story died two years ago. I'm not telling you how Ron died...YET! You'll just have to wait for later chapters. Oh, and welcome new reader.

Thank you! Draco has hated her since the day they met, but it just so happens that he's starting to change his mind. It's almost like the same thing with Harry and Ginny. Harry didn't actually fancy Ginny until his sixth year.


I was so scared that nobody would like my story, but now I'm feeling much more confident. I'll be posting soon, hopefully.

I had a feeling I would be getting post saying I rushed it. I did the kissing thing to show that Hermione could be not so much pf an expert at relationships at times, she has feelings for him yet rushes it. I would never actually do that in a story. Even to me that's rushing, so thanxs for the honesty. =)

"Okay, so let me get this straight". Ginny said. "You meet him one day, and kiss him another day."

"Well... Yeah." Hermione said. "You think I rushed it a bit?"

"A bit? Hermione you rushed it way to much. Worst of all, he's Malfoy.

"God, Ginny I know."

"And yet you kiss him. Are you okay? Are you suffering from Are-you-crazy-it-is?" She asked.

"Ginny, have you ever heard of the expression 'Don't judge a book by it's cover'?"

"Yeah, but Malfoy isn't a book. I'm not even sure if he knows how to read one."

"He's not that bad."

"Oh my god you've gone mental. Don't tell me you guys are dating." Ginny said.

"What? No, of course not. We're just friends. Only friends." Hermione said calmly.

" OK. I know I can trust you. You're like an older sister to me. But if he does anything to hurt you, he'll wish that he was never born.

"Thanks Ginny." Hermione said smiling.

"So Hermione, I heard that you're now head healer. Congratulations!"

"Thanks. Wow, was this on the Daily Prophet? Everybody I know so far has said congratulations to me."

"Well a certain girl called Emily told us."

"I knew it. "

"Could you not tell Harry about me and Draco?"

"Sure. If Harry finds out and they meet, we'll need to plan two funerals."

"You read my mind."

Hermione was at St. Mungos going through some application papers when she saw a healer burst through the door looking pale white.

" Sarah, what's wrong?" Hermione asked, startled.

"Miss Granger, we've got a flat line! " The healer named Sarah Said. "Her name is Amanda. We need you because only you know how to do the procedure that could save her." Sarah said.

Hermione rushed to room 109 only to see a bunch of healer crowded around the Girl Amanda. "Move over!" Hermione said.

Hermione thought back to when she was a healer in training. Her trainer was telling her about the Triple Stoppers. Triple Stoppers were
used for patients that had flat lines. Triple Stoppers would take a huge amount of energy from the healer and transfer it onto the patient. Triple Stoppers should never be used more than three times. If it is, you would feel extremely weak, and could even lose your own life.

Hermione went up to Amanda and muttered the spell. A blue mist swirled around Hermione and went into Amanda's chest. Still not working.

but she kept on trying.

Once again, she muttered the spell and again a blue mist swirled around Hermione and went into Amanda's chest. That was the third time Hermione did it. But she convinced her self that one more try couldn't hurt.

Eyes were set on Hermione, surprised that she could even hold herself up right. They couldn't believe she did the spell 4 times. It's bad enough doing it twice, but 4 times?

Sarah got up and put a gentle hand on Hermione's shoulder. "Hermione," She whispered, "I'm sorry. But she's gone."

"No." Hermione said.

"Yes. She's gone. You stay her, I'll go tell her parents." Sarah Said.

"No. You stay here. I'll go tell her parents." And Hermione left without another word.

Hermione walked out of the quiet room and went into the waiting room. She saw a couple sitting on a chair waiting anxiously for news about their daughter.
The father had black hair and blue eyes. The mother had brown hair and brown eyes.

"Mr. and Mrs. Fleming?" Hermione said, trying to say this the best way she can.

"Yes Hermione? How is she? Is she okay?" Mrs. Fleming asked.

"Calm down Jane, let her talk." Mr. Fleming said, but he didn't seem so calm himself.

"I'm so sorry to have to tell you this. Really, I tried the best I could, but it seems that Amanda won't be coming back." Hermione said quietly.
She watched as the mother named Jane burst into tears, and watched as the father tried to console her. At that Moment, and automatic flashback appeared in Hermione's head.

*Flashback*

Hermione was shaking, waiting anxiously for news about Ron. They were at St. Mungos. Everybody had bruises and scars. St. Mungos was filled with patients. There was only one room available. And they all wanted Ron to go into that room. Finally a tall healer came out looking very tired.

"Is he okay?" Hermione said.

"I'm sorry Miss Granger, we couldn't save him." Said the healer.

"Did you do the Triple Stoppers?" Hermione asked, tears streaming down her face. Although Hermione wasn't a healer in training, she read about them in books.

"Well, no. No patient is actually worth putting ourselves in that situation." The healer said.

"Ron is." Hermione said, feeling anger boiling up inside her.
"He went out there risking his life so you could have a better one! How dare you even show your face around here! You're a healer. You're supposed to try and save peoples lives. You didn't even try to save Ron's." The healer looked surprised at what he just heard. She was now sobbing.

"Hermione. Calm down. It's okay." Ginny said soothingly as if she was just a small child, though Ginny couldn't hold back the tears back any longer so she let them fall freely.

*End of flashback*

Hermione couldn't take it anymore. She was feeling extremely weak. Who knew that being head healer was so tiring, it was harder that on her first day she had to break very bad news to parents.

She lost feeling in her legs and just collapsed.



OK, so I finished the chapter. I hoped you liked it. It seems like Hermione really wants to save this girl called Amanda Fleming, though she isn't just a patient. Oh and don't forget to tell me what you think. I'm feeling much more confident about the story now, all thanxs to my readers.
