K, this is my first fanfic, so please don't be too harsh! This is about Dia Drake and her adventures with James Potter (Harry's son, not his dad.). I hope you guys like it!!!

Chapter 1-

Sleepy.
Confused.
Wet.
Those were the words that described Dia Drake as she woke up on the first morning of September.

“Wuzzgoinon?!?!” She cried as she was splashed with water.

“Wake up, Dia, you prat! We’re gonna be late!”

This turned out to be Dia’s older sister Tetra.

“Late for what???” Dia said, still half asleep, but throwing off her soaked blanket and rubbing her bright green eyes.

“The Hogwarts Express of course! C’mon hurry up! I can’t believe you forgot!” And Tetra left the room, muttering about how unbelievable Dia was. Of course Dia hadn’t really forgotten. But being as tired as she was from lying awake all night, the thought of starting school had temporarily vacated her mind for the first time in weeks. Of course now, the reality of the situation was setting in.

“Oh my goodness!!!” Dia cried as she scrambled up to get her trunk. She was very much a procrastinator and still didn’t have her trunk fully packed. “Devin! Do you know where my scales are?” Dia yelled to her brother in the next room, while trying to brush out her black hair. Devin was her twin, and he was much more neat and organized than she was.

“Oh, yeah they’re on the shelf in the living room.”

“Thanks.”

Unbelievably, Dia finished packing within about twenty minutes. The family of four left the house via taxi cab.

“It’s alright, Marcus, we’ll be at the station in no time!” said Dia’s mother to Tetra’s cat. It was having a bit of a tantrum and really starting to annoy the driver. Dia’s family was only comprised of her, Devin, Tetra, and her mother Vivian. Dia’s father had left when she and Devin were only three. That was when her mother finally decided to tell him that she was a witch. Tetra (who was six at the time) remembered daddy much better than Di and Dev did, so it still upset her sometimes.

But today, that whole mess was the farthest thing from any of their minds. Dia was extremely nervous, and you could tell. Devin was nervous too, but he was too cool to show it. Tetra on the other hand was simply excited to be able to see her boyfriend Andy.

They got out of the cab and Dia’s mother paid the driver. “Simply odd how this muggle money works...” she muttered as she turned back to her children.

“Come on, loves, get your things! Quickly! We’re gonna have to really hurry, we’re quite far behind schedule!”

Everybody grabbed their things wordlesly and made their way toward the station. Dia had come to King’s Cross every year since she was eight to drop off Tetra. But every year she came, her amazement was still evident. The entire city of London had a very strong hold on her imagination. Every time she walked through the street to the station she imagined living there and doing that every single day. It was where she wanted to live when she grew up.

“Okay, c’mon now, through the barrier!”

“We know, mom. We’ve done this before,” said Devin.

As they crossed the barrier onto Platform Nine and Three Quarters, they saw another family that looked to be running just as late as they were. The thing is, even though neither Dia, Devin, Tetra, or their mother had ever met these people, all three of them knew them. They were the famous Potters.

“Oh my gosh!” squealed Dia as she ran behind her mother’s back.“That’s Harry Potter!”

“Don’t be alarmed, Dia. They’re only people like you and me. Stop staring!” Devin scolded his sister.

“Ugh, goodbye, Mum, I’ll be fine!” said the biggest of the children whom the Potters were with. He seemed to be the only one going to Hogwarts this year, and his parents were really starting to get on his nerves.

“I’ll write!” he shouted over his shoulder as he got on the train.

“Dia, I swear, if you were any slower you’d never move. MOVE IT! THE TRAIN’S LEAVING!!!” Tetra shouted.

“Goodbye, darlings. Write me when you get there! I love you, have a good term!” Their mother called out to them as Dia was pulled from her stupor of the Potter’s appearance, and started to run to the train.

“Love you Mum!” she said quickly.

“Love you!” Devin also said.

“Bye!”

Now Dia was climbing onto the train and she had absolutely no idea what to do. She didn’t really know anyone except Jezebel, and she didn’t know where she was. Jezebel had been Dia’s neighbor since she was 5, and coincidentally was also a witch. She would have to be somewhere on this train.

“Do you want to grab a compartment with me?” Devin said desperately.
Dia remembered that Devin and Jezebel didn’t particularly get along, and since Tetra had already ditched them, he really had nowhere to go.

“Well, alright then. We’ll sit in this one, there are only a few people in here.”

“Okay.”

She nervously opened the compartment door to find two boys already sitting there. One of these boys was the one she had just seen on the platform.

“Would you guys mind if we sat in here?”

The boys looked at her for a second.

“Yeah, you can sit here if you want. I’m James Potter. Who are you?” and as he said this, his cheeks turned a light shade of pink.
