Hello Everybody! My name is Cai, and this is my sixth fan fiction on SS. My other fan fictions are: What the Girls Think Sa13+, An Obsession Sa13+, Heartbreak Sa9+, My Best Memory Sa9+, and Wise Words Sa9+. So go check those out if you haven’t already. Anyway… I wanted to write this fan fiction the second I finished Deathly Hallows, but with school and everything, I just didn’t have the time. But now I do, so here it is: The Life of Teddy Lupin. I love to read comments, concerns, criticism, approvals, yada yada, so don’t be afraid to tell me what you think. Trust me, I don’t bite. =] Anyway… enjoy!

“Tell me what happened next, Nana.”
“Well, when Remus saw that Nymphadora was in trouble with Bellatrix, he quickly ran to her aid, and helped her to fight off her evil aunt. When they had a chance to escape, they took it and ran throughout the castle of Hogwarts to look for safety-“
“Did they make it, Nana? Did they find safety?”
The old woman stared into the round eyes of her grandson, watching him jump out of his seat to hear the ending of the story. He really was a fan of adventure. However, this story wasn’t meant to be told for adventure. The woman chose to tell her grandson this story because it was one of her favorites. It was probably a false story, because she never found out the truth, but this was how she liked it…
“No. I’m afraid they didn’t,” she said softly, putting on a sad smile. “But that doesn’t mean that they were cowards. You see, they fought for their lives and the lives of others. They fought for the greater good of the Wizarding World, and to help defeat He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. They were considered heroes for their bravery.”
“But Nana, how did they die?”
The woman paused for a moment, letting out a heavy breath, for this question has been asked many times. However, as I mentioned before, she did not know the real truth of what happened to Remus and Nymphadora.
“Well, they were running down a corridor; whether they were looking for a fight or running from it, I cannot say, but something happened as they were running. A huge blast of green light could be seen through the window. Remus saw it first, noticing that it was heading towards Nymphadora. So, feeling that he had no choice, he jumped in front of her, letting the beam hit him instead of his wife. However, his heroism was shortly appreciated, for another beam hit Nymphadora shortly afterwards, and they were lost from the world forever.”
The young boy stared at his Nana for a moment, as if trying to find the true meaning behind her words. A silence fell between them, until the boy broke the tension.
“That’s a sad story, Nana.”
The woman nodded her head lightly in agreement at this statement. “It is.”
There was another silence in the room. During this time, the old woman reached into her apron and pulled out a handkerchief. After she dabbed at her eyes, she gently blew her nose, and then stashed the cloth away.
“Is that story true?”
At this, the woman didn’t know what to say. She had told herself the story so many times that she wanted it to be true, but a part of her knew that it wasn’t. But how could she say this to her grandson? He was too young to understand the meaning of love or death. “I’m not sure,” she answered solemnly, feeling that it was the best answer she could give.
The boy was silent as he stared into the woman’s eyes. “They were my parents, weren’t they; Remus and Nymph- Nym- Nymph-dora? That’s why you’re all sad,” he said quietly.
The woman smiled gently to her grandson, for he was a smart boy for his age. “Yes, Teddy. They were your parents indeed,” she replied.
The boy named Teddy smiled brightly. He loved to hear about his parents, especially since he had never met them. “What were they like, Nana?” he asked excitedly. “Were they like me?”
The woman gave a humorous laugh. “Oh Teddy, I just told you what they were like. They were brave, strong, smart… just like you,” she said lovingly. “But it’s getting late now, and you have a big day ahead of you tomorrow.”
“Oh yeah!” Teddy said happily. “Harry’s going to take me to the zoo tomorrow!”
The woman smiled once more and stood up from her chair. “Yes he is, so you better go to sleep quickly,” she humored him.
Teddy snuggled himself into his bed and pulled his sheets up to his chin. The woman ruffled his bright blue hair, kissed him on the forehead, walked to the door, and then turned off the lights in the room. After checking on her grandson one last time, she went to leave the room.
“Nana?” Teddy called into the darkness.
The woman stopped in her tracks and looked over at the bundle of sheets. “Yes, Teddy.”
“Do you think they would have liked me?”
“Who, dear?”
“My parents.”
The woman froze, as if shocked by his question. Then, she smiled into the black room. “Of course they would, Teddy. I’m sure that if they were still here, they would love you more than anything. In fact, I bet they do love you. I bet that they’re watching over you every day and every night.”
Teddy smiled to himself at this, for he had always wondered what his parents would have thought of him. “Goodnight, Nana.”
“Goodnight my Teddy Bear,” she whispered adoringly, and then silently closed the door. |

Hey everyone! Here is the next chapter. It’s kind of short and boring, I know… but I do like it because it’s a good introduction to my next chapter. I was going to write them both in one chapter, but it would be too long, and I don’t have enough time right now to do that. Anyway, I hope you guys like this. I think that it brings out a bit of everyone’s character, and that’s why I like this. Well, let me know what you think.
The next chapter will be posted after Thanksgiving, but I won’t wait as long, because it’s a good chapter.

The doorbell rang.
“Harry! It’s so good to see you again.”
“Good morning, Andromeda,” Harry said sweetly, walking into the comfy house and kissing Andromeda on the cheek.
“How are you? How’s Ginny?” Andromeda, the old woman, asked Harry. It had been a while since she had had company in this house, and it was a nice change.
“We’re both good,” he told her plainly. “Ginny’s at home right now with James. His first birthday’s coming up, and we wanted to know if you and Teddy would like to come to celebrate.”
Andromeda beamed at this invitation. “Oh, we would love to, Harry. Thank you.”
“Harry!”
Harry looked over to see his godson at the top of the stairs, his hands in the air, as if he were about to take off. Harry laughed at this sight.
Then, Teddy ran down the stairs towards Harry and jumped into his arms. Harry picked him up and spun him around once. “Hey there Sport,” he said to him.
“Harry… we’re going to the zoo today!”
Andromeda and Harry both laughed. “Yes, we are.”
“You two have fun now,” Andromeda said kindly, holding the door open for them.
Teddy nodded and squirmed out of Harry’s arms. Then, he bolted out the door and towards Harry’s car.
“Don’t worry, Andromeda, we won’t be out too long,” Harry reassured her.
“Oh nonsense, Harry; go out and have some fun.”
Harry smiled at her, and gave her another kiss on the cheek. After that, he walked out of the house and towards his car, where Teddy was already standing impatiently.
“Are you ready, Teddy?” Harry asked jokingly.
Teddy laughed, for he liked the sound of his name rhyming with other words. “Yes I am!”
“Good.”
And with that, they both got into the car; Harry in the driver’s seat, and Teddy in the back seat. The engine was started, the car moved backwards, and they were off to the zoo.
