This is my second Fan-Fic, and I am currently writing another one too; http://http://www.snitchseeker.com/character-stories/s-me-ginny-weasley-sa13-52922/. Please read it. I have also written one one-shot, it’s called http://http://www.snitchseeker.com/character-stories/worries-little-lily-luna-potter-sa9-52950/.

This is a story about the Marauders, and it’s from about everyone’s point of view (Lily, James, Sirius, Severus, Remus, ect.) Each character will have a color their POV will be in. The first few chapters will be when they are younger, before they go to Hogwarts, and then it will go to their seventh year. I will let you know when it is that they are older. This time I will have a character list, and a few details about the characters, because there will be a few that I made up in this story.

DISCLAIMER: I (unfortunately) do not own Harry Potter, or anything relating to it. They all belong to the wonderful J.K. Rowling. She has came up with these characters, this is just my version of what might have happened before Harry came along. The main person in this story that I do own is Abigail Adams, and I thought of her.

Like I said, I am writing another story at the same time, and I started that one first, so I will apologize in advance if this becomes inactive or it takes me a while to post (although I will try to not let that happen.)

Any message by me will be in this color, the story will be in the color of the person that is speaking. (Anything else will be in black)

The Character list and color

James Potter- Harry’s future dad. He is fairly wealthy, pure-blood, and is extremely big-headed and popular. He is also an animagus (stag)
Lily Evans- Harry’s future mom. Muggle-born. Has a sister, Petunia, that does not go to Hogwarts. Is a wonderful student, and has a lot of friends.
Sirius Black- James Potter’s best friend, Harry’s future godfather. Pure-blood, comes from a family of Slytherins. Very popular, also big-headed. Animagus (black dog)
Remus Lupin- Pure-bood. One of James’ best friends, very smart, good student. Is quiet and shy. Has been a werewolf most of his life.
Peter Pettigrew- Pure-blood. James’ tag-along friend. Very clumsy, kind of chubby. Not a very good student. Animagus (rat)Abigail Adams- Lily’s best friend since the first train ride to Hogwarts. Half-Blood, pretty good student and pretty popular. Very nice. (made up character)
Severus Snape- Half-Bood, future Death Eater. Grew up in a house by Lily and Petunia.
And without any further ado…

Everything Happens For a Reason
Chapter one- Letters

“Guess what, Lils, Mum and dad are taking you shopping for your birthday! Isn’t that great?” My sister Petunia shrieked, jumping up and down on my bed.

“But Tuney, my birthday’s tomorrow,” I reminded her.

“I know, but they decided to take you today, so we could have a family day tomorrow,” she replied. “Oh, and they said you could pick a few friends to take. Mum and dad won't be coming either.”

“Oh, they won't? Okay, well I guess I’ll just take you, sissy,” I told her. She shrieked.

“YAY! Wow, okay, are you ready to go?” she asked.
“No, Tuney, I just got up,” I reminded her. Her smile faded.
“Okay, but hurry,” she said sadly.
“How long can we shop?” I asked.
“All day, but I don’t want to miss a single sell!” she exclaimed. I laughed and hugged her.

“Hey, Sirius, is that you?” I asked holding up my mirror.

“Who else would it be?” he asked.

“Oh, I don’t know, but I need to talk to you. When are you going to Diagon Alley?” I asked. My voice was fast, as if my life depended on it.

“Day after tomorrow. What about you?” he asked.

“Same, well, now it is, we were going to go tomorrow, but now I’m gonna go then. Well, I got to go, mum’s making omelets, don’t want to miss them.” I said urgently.

“Kay, mate, see ya,” he replied. I threw the mirror face down on my bed and skidded out of my room.

“Mum, tonight’s a full moon!” I complained, waking up and looking at my calendar. “I don’t want to go to Diagon Alley tomorrow!”

“Remus, it doesn’t make a difference the day, you’re always fine in the mornings,” my mum reasoned.

“Yes, but I always look really shabby. I don’t want to go to Diagon Alley tomorrow,” I told her again.

“Alright, Remus, but we’re going the day after. No matter what you look like,” she told me.

“Okay.” I yelled back.

When Tuney and I were at the mall, we took off. My parents gave me 200 dollars, Tuney had 100. I ran into my favorite clothes shop, dragging Tuney in after me.

“Oh my goodness! They have so many nice clothes here! What should we buy? I need new clothes for the school year; I think I might buy a few skirts,” I muttered, whipping my head around to look at all the racks.

After about five hours of shopping, we were picked up, and we went home. We had dinner, and Tuney and I “went to bed.” Actually, we stayed up until midnight and talked. This was the best birthday of my life.

There was a knock at my door.

“Who is it?” I screamed.

“Kreature, master, mistress told me to wake you; you are wanted in the basement kitchen,” he sqeaked.

“Get out Kreature, I’ll be down when I’m ready!” I snapped. He bowed his head, muttered something about me being a disgrace, and left the room.

“Good, and stay out!” I yelled at the door. I turned around as a tawny owl pecked at my window. I threw off my bed covers, walked to the window, and let the owl in. It flew in and landed on my bed. It stuck out its leg and a letter was tied to it. I grabbed the letter and began to read.

I ran into my room, still holding my letter, and grabbed my mirror, which I had thrown onto my trunk in my haste to get my mum’s French toast this morning.

“Sirius? Sirius? Are you there?” I asked urgently.

“Yes, James, I’m right here. Stop acting like your trousers are on fire!” he scolded.

“Sorry,” I apologized, “But did you get your letter?”

“Yes, James, I got my letter this morning,” he told me as if bored with me.

“Oh, okay, well, I guess I’ll see you tomorrow,” I said sulkily.

“Yeah, Mate, see ya.” After he said that all I saw out of the other mirror was his dirty bed sheet. I threw mine onto my pillow and went back downstairs.

“Remus, I think you have post!” my mum called.

“Be there in a second!” I called. It was a full moon last night, and I had just walked back up from the basement. That’s where my father locks me up every month, every full moon. I washed my face and hands and went down stairs.

“Who is it from?” I asked.

“Hogwarts, honey, you’ve been accepted!” she screamed with joy. My mouth fell open.

“They let me come to Hogwarts? Me? Wow. But, they can't, it’s too dangerous, and if I come home every month won’t that be a little suspicious?” I asked.

“Well, it says here that the needed arrangements will be made for you to stay at school, and still keep the other students safe. Dumbledore really is an excellent man.” She looked bemused. I smiled.

“Diagon Alley tomorrow then?” I asked smiling.

“Tomorrow,” she replied.

“Lily, can you come down for breakfast?” my mum called.

“Oh, yes, let me get dressed and I will be right down!” I called. I got dressed, put my hair in a pony tail, and hopped down the stairs to the kitchen. We were about done with breakfast when something pecked at the front window.

“I wonder what that could be. I’ll go get it,” Petunia said. She was up and out of her chair before anyone else could say a thing.

“Eek! An owl! Eeew!” she shrieked. I jumped up from the table.

“An owl, well let it in, maybe it’s hurt,” I said walking over to the window and opening it. The Tawny owl flew in and landed on the banister. It held out its leg where a note was tied to it. I took off the note and started opening the letter.

“Wait, how do you know it’s for you?” asked Tuney.

“Because it says Miss Lily Evans,” I pointed out. I patted the owl on its head and it took off. I began to read, while walking into the kitchen.

“Mum, have you ever heard of Hogwarts?” I asked.

“Hogwarts?” she asked. “Well, I suppose it could happen, but it wouldn’t be a pretty site, that’s for sure,” she said while she was cleaning dishes. I giggled.

“No, mum, it’s a place. Have you ever heard of the school called Hogwarts?” I asked. “Here.” I handed her the letter. She read it, her eyebrows furling.

“It says that you are a witch,” she told me.

“Mumma! That is not a nice thing to tell your daughter!” Tuney scolded.

“Petunia, why don’t you go upstairs and take a shower,” my mum suggested.

“Fine, I know when I’m not wanted,” she muttered darkly and walked upstairs.

Mum, dad and I talked over the letter, deciding that there was a possibility that it was a fake.

“But honey, it says if we have any questions we can owl back,” my mum said rereading the letter.

“With what owl?” my dad asked.

“I don’t know, honey. Let’s just go to this address tomorrow, check it out. If it doesn’t work, oh well, if it does, great!” she exclaimed.
“Okay, how about that, Lily?” he asked.

“Sounds great to me!” I exclaimed.

“Okay, I’ll take you tomorrow, Dad can stay with Tuney,” my mum suggested.

“Okay,” me and my dad said in unison.

Heyy Sydnie! I love this!! It's a really good start. Just one question, how do Sirius and James know each other even before school start?

Can't wait for more!!! And take your time, I understand that it's hard to keep up with two FF's at a time.

Thanks! And you know what...I never even thought of that. Im sorry. Maybe their parents were knew each other? Or maybe they went to the same school before Hogwarts? Wow. I need to think more.

Chapter 2-Diagon Alley
“James! Hurry and get down to breakfast! Your dad should be here soon, and we don’t want to get caught in traffic!” my mum called from downstairs. I opened my eyes groggily. I got dressed, combed my hair, and went downstairs.

“Mum, cant we just apparate?” I asked.

“I suppose so.” She said. I smiled.

“Do you think I could buy a broom? Sirius and I wanted to try out for the
team.” I asked.

“They don’t usually let first years on the house team.” My mum said, flipping a pancake over.

“Well, maybe when they see our skill they will rethink that.” I stated.

“Maybe.” My mum said distracted. Then there was a POP! As my dad apparated to the front room. He walked into the kitchen and gave my mum a
hug.

“You wouldn’t believe the work. The new Aurors need training, and I can understand that, but they are so snotty. You would think that they thought they were already aurors!” he exclaimed. He rambled on and on about work, and finally I had to interrupt him. Sure, being head of the Magical Law Enforcement Department must be tiring, but he complains about it after every shift.

“Can we get going?” I asked. “Sirius is leaving soon, and I don’t want to miss him!” I said impatiently. I started tapping my foot.

“Calm down, James! You are going to pull something!” my mum scolded. I glowered at her. “Let me finish my tea, then we can go.” She reasoned.

When I woke up, my mum was already making breakfast. Tuney was drinking cider while sitting on the counter, and my dad was reading the paper.

“Good morning, Tuney.” I said brightly. She glared at me and looked away.

“Lily.” Was all she said. I gave her a puzzled look, but otherwise ignored her
rude behavior. “What’s for breakfast, Mumma?” I asked.

“Oatmeal.” She said happily.

“I’m going to go get dressed. I will be down soon.” I said. As I turned around
Tuney jumped off the counter.

“I’m going too.” She said simply. I gave her another puzzled look, but smiled at her when she looked toward me. When I got to my bedroom, she followed me in.

“What’s wrong, Tuney?” I asked.

“you think that you are so cool because you got accepted to that freak school.” She said darkly.

“What do you mean?” I asked astonished.

“Oh, you know exactly what I mean, I mean you think you are cool because you are a witch, and daddy and Mummy are so proud of you. Well, I know what you really are.” She paused, as if for dramatic expense. “You’re a freak!” she spat. I jumped back, not ready for that comment.

“Tuney, you don’t mean that, I bet Mr. Dumbledore would let you come too, I bet you could be a witch if you wanted.” I reasoned.

“Why would I want that?” she stuck her nose in the air.

“Lily, you are a freak, and that’s all you ever will be. You go to that school…” she paused; she had tears in her eyes. “You go to that school…if you go to that school, you are no longer my sister!” she screamed. I fell back onto my bed, trying to digest what she just said. I have to go to that school; I have to see what I am possible of doing. Tuney is just having a bad morning. I told myself. I got dressed.

When I went back into the kitchen, Tuney was crying and my mum and dad were consoling her.

“Its okay, Tuney, you are the smartest girl in your class, isn’t that okay?” my dad asked. She cried still.

“Its no-ot okay, Da-addy! It-t’s not be-cause-e now L-lily doesn-n’t go to-oo school, the-en we c-can’t be-ee the-the t-two b-best students!” she wailed.
“But now you can be the best.” My mum reasoned. I decided to show myself at that moment. I walked out to the table and grabbed a bowl of oatmeal. I sat down at the other end and started eating.

“Why don’t you hurry with that, then we can get going.” My mum said with a worried look towards Tuney. I nodded.

Five minutes later mum and I were in the car and on our way to Diagon Alley, where ever that was…

“James! James! JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMEEEEEESSSS!!!!!!” I yelled at my mirror, I needed to talk, urgently.
“What do you want?” he asked.
“Can you pick me up? My idiot of a family seem to think that their lives are more important than taking me shopping.” I glared and looked at my door, hoping Kreature hadn’t heard me. He nodded.
“Sure, I guess we could, we’re apparating, so you would have to Side-Along.” He told me.
“Okay, fine with me.” I replied.
“Pick you up then.” I threw my mirror onto my bed.

“Let’s go! We need to pick up Sirius and I want time to shop! Come on, mum, make up’s not important!” I exclaimed impatiently.

“James, you are so impatient.” My mum muttered.

“I know, let’s go!” I said tugging on her arm. My dad came up beside her.

“Alright, to the Blacks, on the count of three.” I grabbed my dad’s hand and we apparated to the Black’s house.
I knocked on the door and Kreature opened it.

“Oh, yes, Potter.” He bowed low. “Young master is just about ready. He will be out shortly.” As soon as he croaked that out he slammed the door in my face. I shook my head. “Sometimes I’m glad we don’t have a house-elf.” I muttered. I went to stand by my parents to wait for Sirius. He came out of the house scowling, and closed the door on Kreature’s foot. My mum gasped.

“Stupid thing.” He muttered. “Sorry Mrs. Potter, but he very rudely slammed the door in your son’s face.” He said in a too-polite voice. I tried to hide my snigger. My mum nodded.

“Let’s go, before James gets too worked up.” My dad said eyeing me closely. I grabbed my dad’s hand again and Sirius grabbed mine and we apparated to Diagon Alley.

Once there, my parents took us to Gringotts, and we loaded our pockets with money. My parents went off to The Leaky Cauldron, and Sirius and I could shop for as long as we want. This was going to be fun…

“Mum, didn’t the letter say go into the Leaky Cauldron?” I asked.

“Yeah, why?” she asked.

“Because it’s right there.” I said pointing out the car window. My mum slammed on the brakes. She pulled over to the side of the road and parked the car.

“Alright, I guess we go inside.” I muttered. I walked in and my mum followed. It was a little pub, and behind the counter, there was a man scrubbing dishes. He must have seen our confused expressions, because he set down his work and came up to us.

“Hello, can I help you?” he asked. My mum nodded.

“Yes, um, this is Lily’s first year, how to you get to Di-uh-gone alley?” she asked. he smiled.

“Right this way.

“Let’s go to Olivanders first.” Sirius suggested. I nodded. We went into the shop, and when we got in, I had to step back. There was a girl in there with bright red hair. She was standing by her mother, asking Olivander a gazillion questions. I smirked, a muggle.

“Sirius, look, poor girl.” I whispered. He sniggered. We walked up to the counter.

“Excuse us, but can we please get a wand?” I asked in a deeper voice. I can’t help it if I’m a show off. Both the girl and her mum raised their eyebrows. Olivander nodded and went to the shelves.

“Sorry, where are my manners? I’m James Potter, and this is my best friend, Sirius Black.” I introduced us, holding out my hand. The girl blushed, and her mum shook our hands.

“Nice to meet you boys.” She said politely. We nodded our heads. Olivander came back and handed me and Sirius our wnads.

“Potter and Black, I was wondering when I’d see you. Here,” he turned to me, “Holly and Unicorn hair, thirteen inches. Give it a flick.” He instructed. I did as I was told and something happened that must have pleased him.

“Perfect match.” He muttered and smiled at me. Then he turned to Sirius. “Willow, dragon heartstring, twelve and three fourths inches. Give it a flick.” He repeated. Sirius did as he was told, and the same thing happened. Olivander chuckled.

“Two in a row, very good. That would be eleven galleons each.” We paid and turned to exit the shop.

“Excuse me, but could you help us with these coins?” the lady asked. I smirked at Sirius.

“Of course.” We helped her pay for the wand her daughter got, and left the shop. We spent the rest of the day shopping, and went home. We were leaving for Hogwarts in one week.

That boy is annoying! I thought as my mum talked to two wizard boys that came into the wand shop. But still, he is pretty cute. I got my wand, Holly and Unicorn tail hair, twelve inches, and we left the shop.
“Where should go next?” I asked.
“How about to get your books?” my mum suggested. I nodded.

After shopping all day, I decided that wizards are very weird, and I was going to be one of them. This should be fun.

When we got home I unpacked everything and repacked it into my new trunk. During dinner, my mum and I explained everything to my dad, and when I went to bed, I was feeling quite happy. The only problem was that Petunia was still not talking to me. Oh well, I am going to Hogwarts in one week!

I was going to do this in two parts, but then I decided not to, lol, obviously. Anyway, hope you enjoyed. THanks!

Heres more of the story, It's pretty much just Lily, sorry it's short.

Chapter 3, Hogwarts ExpressAfter going to Diagon Alley, I felt more confident about going to Hogwarts. I guess I finally realized that they really did except me. It was the morning of September first, and I was getting ready to leave for the Hogwarts Express.
“Remus! Remus! Come down here, Breakfast is ready!” my mum called.
“Be down in a minute!” I called. I got dressed and made my bed and headed down the stairs to the dining room.
“Do you have everything packed?” my mum asked. I nodded.
“Yea, when are we going?” I asked impatiently.
“Soon, let me find my purse.” She said. I ran into the kitchen and grabbed her purse.
“Here it is.” I said. She took it from my hand and rolled her eyes.
“Alright, let’s go.” She took my hand and we aparated to platform nine and three quarters.

“Kings Cross Station. Platform nine and three quarters.” I read off the ticket. We were driving to the train station, and my mum and dad were talking, and Petunia was staring out the window, determinedly not looking at anyone. “Mum, have you ever heard of nine and three quarters?” I asked.
“No, I don’t think I have.” She said.
“I bet it’s some cool magical place!” I said excitedly. My mum actually nodded.
“Yes, I suppose it is. Maybe a wizard won’t mind helping us.” My dad said. We made it to the station, and my dad parked the car. We got out and he grabbed my trunk from the back of the car.
We walked into the station and walked past all the platforms. Seven, eight, nine, ten. Where was nine and three quarters?
Then I saw the black haired boy that had been in the wand shop. “Mum! Look! That boy was in the wand shop!” I whispered urgently. She nodded.
“Excuse me, James?” she asked. I can’t believe she remembered his name.
“Yes, madam?” he asked. I smiled shyly when he looked at me.
“Uhm, how do you…get…” she whispered.
“On the platform? Easy.” He told us. “Look, all you do is run at the barrier between nine and ten. My mum and dad told me that.” He informed us. We nodded, mine was nervous. Petunia just looked like she didn’t know us.
“Watch, I’ll have my parents do it first.” He said. He talked to them, and they both nodded. They went running toward the barrier, and I got ready for a crash, but it never came.
It was amazing, I followed the boy in after, and we came out onto a platform with a scarlet steam engine billowing smoke over everybody’s heads. I smiled, and looked over at my family.
“If you have any questions, look for me on the train, I’d be glad to help.” The boy said as he said goodbye to his parents and boarded the train.
“By the way,” he yelled back, “Train leaves in exactly four minutes!” he warned.
“Oh no!” I turned around and hugged my mum, dad, and Petunia, “Love you all! See you in Christmas! Good bye!” I said. My mum had tears in her eyes, and Petunia looked like she would rather be anywhere but here.
“I’ll write!” I promised as I got onto the train. The conducter yelled all aboard, so I smiled at my family, then went inside to look for an apartment. Maybe I could sit with that boy…

Awww, is Lily falling for James already?
Hmm, where's Snape, we need out favorite Potions professor, although, I used to hate him, lol.
