After your journey through a door to the right of the main staircase in the Entrance Hall and down a staircase there, you find yourself standing before a still life painting. Upon giving the correct password, you are allowed access to a warm, welcoming underground room, decorated in the Hufflepuff house colours. Gathered around the large fireplace are several oversized and overfilled plump sofas, which resemble fluffy clouds, and a variety of comfortable armchairs scattered around for you to rest your weary bodies in.

A long table sits in the brightest part of the room (torches are lit all day long) for the students who would rather do their homework in here than in their dormitories or the library.

Portraits of past well-known Hufflepuffs hang on one wall, among them are Cedric Diggory and Nymphadora Tonks, who died in the dark days of You-Know-Who's power, as well as the Fat Friar. Remember and honour them as you walk to or from your dormitories.

Two perfectly round, barrel top doors are positioned on opposing sides of the common room. They both open to reveal underground tunnels which will lead you to your common rooms; boys on the right, girls on the left.

Still struggling massively with his oversized trousers, Jake staggered into the surprisingly empty Hufflepuff Common Room and made a split second decision. He would not be going into his dormitory just yet... that was basically trapping himself. Sooooooo, Jake shuffled over to one of the many sofas and threw himself onto it, hogging the entire item of furniture, using it as a pretty comfy bed.

"Oh my days," the boy mumbled, turning onto his side and facing the back of the armchair, before hugged the back cushions with his right arm and leg, getting thoroughly comfortable.

Julian came up early from the Hufflepuff House table. He expected to see a totally empty Common Room but he saw there was one boy sitting thwere by himself.

"Hey," Julian said and went to have a seat in an armchair next to the fire.

Lucille was walking down from her dormitory the first morning on term. She stretched and yawned, and looked around the common room. It was beautiful, she had to say that. Paintings hung on the wall in every colour, and the furnature was grand and woody. A painting caught her eye. Cederic Diggory. Yes, her father had told her all about him. Although he was before even her fathers time, Lucilles father had some strange fasination with the boy. He held him as a hero, which, if the story was true, he very much was.

Ray entered the common room and waited for Abby to follow him. They couldn't discuss well in the feast but they could do it here without being heard if they ever needed.

Diana came down from the dormitory.She had had a good night of sleep and was feeling quite fresh.Seeing a girl somewhat of her age standing in front Cedric Diggory's painting,she quietly came up to her side and said softly,"I've heard all about Cedric Diggory..He was really a very brave person,was'nt he?"She looked at the painting for some time,and then extended out her hand towards the girl and said,"Hi...My name's Diana,and yours?"

Turning his head around as he heard someone come and sit nearby, Jake gave a little wave to the boy. "Alright, mate?" he asked, stretching out across the entire sofa.

Kyle walked into the Common room..
Everything was new to him...
He wondered if anybody would talk to him..
And he sat Down in the corner..
While he looked around with his grey eyes..

Diana's words floated through Lucille's brain as she stared at the painting and awakened her."Oh!" she jumped a little."Yes, very brave," she nodded solemly. "It's terrible isn't it? Its just a good thing that all that is behind us now i guess.." she gave a small smile, which brightened imediatly as the girl extended her hand. She liked making new friends. "Hi Diana!" she said brightly, shaking the girls hand. "I'm Lucille. Beambrook." she added. She looked around her. "Its exciting isnt it! So, are you happy with your house?"

Stepping through the portrait, the small Hufflepuff was determined to make a good first impression (even though it really was too late). Head held high, shoulders back, and back straight, Wesley Reagan was nothing like the girl from last year. At least, on the outside.

Inside, she was EXHAUSTED. And somehow, finally being back in her old common room made her feel so much more tired. Maybe it was the warm colors, or the friendly fire illuminating the room in golden tones. Or maybe it was those cloud-like sofas.

Practically dragging her feat, Wesley's brain was muddled with half-attempted thoughts. Keep head straight back yellow Oh there's Jake first year warm corner boy girl I'm so shoulders up yummy Butterbeer tired

Doubting her ability to successfully make it to the second year dormitory room awake, Wesley instead decided to fall onto one of the plump sofas. Giving a tired smile and wave to Jake and the first year he was chatting with, and a brief hello to some boy sitting in a corner near her, Wesley promptly began to fall asleep.

Abby makes her way into the common room and finds Ray sitting in a chair near the fire. She shoos a first year out of the other chair. They are seventh years after all and sits down. "So your uncle's an auror. That's so cool."

Ray smiles and looks at Abby. "Actually Head Auror" Ray reveales. "Yes he.. Cool not so much with the constant fear" Ray adds. "So as I told you before I think my uncle needs me to find out stuff to him here in Hogwarts"

Sarah entered the common room full of...well something.She didn't know what.Fear? Expectation? Happiness? Whatever it was was making her feel tired, or that could have been the lovely feast.One glance around the room told her that several Huffie were present, all in various states of drowsyness.But it was one imparticular that caught her eye, sleeping like a baby on the plush sofa not far from the entrance to the girls dormitory.Wesley Reagan, one of her best friends and the most nervous girl she had the pleasure to meet.Not wanting to wake her, Sarah sidled over quietly....

Sitting just a way from Wesley's head, Sarah crossed her legs under her and leant back against the sofa.It was so soft and warm, totally right for sleeping on, and she could see why her friend had chosen there rather than try and get all the way to their bedrooms.With a sigh, she herself closed her eyes and drifted off.

Tavelon wandered into the common room, looking around and taking it all in. He would have to get used to it, as it was where he'd be spending the better part of the next 7 years.

Since he was rather tired, the logical thing to do would be to find the comfiest chair available and sit. Tavelon surveyed the room and found a good looking overstuffed armchair. Sitting down he stretched out and sighed.

Kita walked down from her dormitory and into the Common Room. It was so nice! She always loved the way it looked - it made her feel so comfortable and as if she is finally home. She looked at the famous portraits and noticed Cedric Diggory. She remembered hearing his story and a tear slid down her cheek. He was a good person who died too early. She looked on and noticed Nymphadora Tonks. Another tear slid down as she remembered that she died at the famous battle of Hogwarts. A baby left without a parent. She looked on and noticed the portrait of the Fat Friar. She smiled. He was always so nice to her. She quickly wiped her eyes and turned away from the portraits.

She looked around. She saw Lucille sitting nearby with someone else. She decided to talk to her at breakfast. She looked around again and noticed Kyle. He looked sad and was looking around at everyone else in the Common Room. She walked over to him, hoping her eyes weren't red. "Hey Kyle! I'm Kita. Can i sit here?" Kita asked, hoping he wasn't sad anymore...

Emalyn marched into the commonroom (or more like tripped). She smiled widely and her eyes lit up when she took a look around the place. Oooh, no more flood! And it was just about how she remembered it! With a few new students, of course.

She took a seat on a comfy looking little sofa and warmed herself by the fire. She couldn't believe she was back at Hogwarts already...

"Uh-..Hello..
Er-..Kita..
Sure. you can sit here."

"Thanks," Kita said and sat down opposite Kyle. "You're in first year, right? So how was your holiday?" Kita asked...

"ya..Im a first year..
Look-..Its not that I dont enjoy your company...
But you probably have something better to do
than hang out with a nothing like me."
He got up and walked off.

Kita was confused. "Hey! You're not a nothing. I don't mind hanging out with you. I don't have anything better to do," Kita said, realising that maybe he's angry. Kita watched as he walked off and slumped in her chair. Great she thought. Kita tightened her pony and waited...

Kyle turned back to see Kita...
Slumped in a chair...
It was wrong to treat her like that....
So he went back and sat with her..
and said,"Sorry...Excuse me for my behavior."

Giving, a little skip as she headed into the common room. The password had slipped her mind momentarilly but she had renembered it before giving out a wrong answer.

Smiling slightly, Tammy placed her hand at the bottom of her brown hair and looked around the yellow based room. It was her last term, and the people in this room.. She was their prefect.. BAH.

Finally he was where he should have been the whole time. The Shana Free Zone as he would now call it. Blissful place away from nosy Slytherins that sent lousy apologies with insults crossed out in pink crayon.

He collapsed in the first chair that he could find and said aloud, "someone end my misery. Please."

He was being melodramatic today.

Kita looked up again and was surprised to see that Kyle had come back. "That's ok," she said smiling, "We all have our moments. Sorry if i was mean as well!" Kita sat up - slumping isn't too good for your back. "So how come you were so sad yesterday?" She asked...

Giggling slightly, hearing a voice that she could have only matched up to one person.. Who she happened to only of met once, but his voice was distinctive. Just matched him totally.

Misery? That was so Torin.

"Torriiinnnnnn." She called, pivoting one her foot, hand still matted in her hair, Cloud now rejoining her at her feet. Stupid cat. Couldn't get away from it.
