same reasons as the cos review.
excellent cast, yet it strays too far from the actual book to be a 10/10 |

It's pretty close to the book, if I remember correctly, but I wasn't impressed. They did things differently, like for example the way it ended with Voldemort like flying out, and I didn't like it at all. It was a good movie, but I dunno... I didn't think it was spectacular and not as good as I expected it to be. |

The movie, i fell strays to much from the book. I'm not saying that it should be exactly like the book to the T but they could have done better, in my opinion. I also found that they left minor details (which I do not concider minor) out, it was either that or the addition of other things not inthe books. In other words it does not do the book justice to the least.
I found that time seems to fly by too quickly, one day Harry finds fluffy the next day he's off to battle The Dark Lord/Professor Quirrel and then everything is over. That is y I have given it such a small rating.
I fell that they cut the movie too short , you could say perhapse that because it's a children's movie it was good and u would not want it too long, but i say for die hard fans not matter what age they would have watched a longer movie with more accurate information as well as more information on a hole. I'm quiet angry and hope that the screen play adapters as well as the director have their plan set out for the up coming HP movies. |

| I thought that it was a really good movie, the actors/actresses fit the part perfectly. I think that they should have changed Harry's eyes though (their blue), and I thought that Hermione/Emma was the perfect person for it. Rupert was great! I think that I gave it 9/10.

| | | I think that all the actors fit their parts really well. BUt i did notice some differences like Aunt Petunia is supposed to have blond hair and Seamus is supposed to have sandy blonde hair and in the movies, they both have brown hair! But if they were to change it, then it just wouldn't seen right since im used to the actors the way they are now. I love the movies, 9/10! | |

| I saw the SS movie and thought, "Hmm. That was pretty cool." It was my first HP experience. I started reading the books after that. For getting me hooked on HP, it gets a 8/10 |

It just didn't capture the book enough for me. Sure, the scenery and the locations were fantastic... the actors looked the part... but I was really disappointed with the way some characters were portrayed. Emma Watson just wasn't Hermione at all. None of the child actors were that good - I would say Harry was played the best out of the three. Rupert Grint... just wasn't Ron for me.
On the other hand, Hagrid couldn't have been better. Snape and McGonogall were perfect too.
I don't know why, because most people thought Richard Harris was a perfect Dumbledore - I didn't like the way he did Dumbledore. Where was the inner sparkle, the knowledge beneath the surface?
They may have captured the right "look" and "feel" to Harry's world. But not the characters.
All in all, it's not a bad movie. But it's not the books. |

| 10/10! As I said on the Chamber of Secrets. It is a fascinating movie, because, everything is new here. You are introduced to a complete different world. And I dont think that the film strays a lot from the book. Originality is the best and Chris continued with it. But if you look at Alfonso's style, he has changed everything. Does that make sense now?

The movie was very well made I thought but it did stray a bit from the book. Everyone I think looked their parts but it was obvious to see that the kids were doing their first movie. It was a great movie though. |

| | | I thought it was a great movie! But they did cut out some parts (of course...) And, let me say, Voldemort did not look anythind like I imagined! The book will always be one noch better then the movie. But it was still really good! 9/10 | |

| I loved the first movie-the soundtrack, effects, the whole thing. I also liked Hermione's hair. See, in the first movie, it portrays her as being a stiff blue-stocking. In the second movie, it shows her warmer-in every book and movie she gets a little warmer.
But that's not the point. The point is, I gave that movie a very high rating, because it was a great entrance to such a story-like other people had said everything's so new! Even if some people did not enjoy it, which is fine, it takes a lot of work to make a movie, especially a movie to tell a story like this. Imagine coming up with the special effects. So, yeah, it definitely hits the mark for me. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: William Quinn Third | I like this movie and I thought it was a great way to start things off. I had to realize that it was an adaptation of the book, so there had to be changes in the storyline. I think that there was enough in here for those who hadn't read the books to be interested in and those who are fans to find another reason to like this series. I think Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a charming and epic film for our time, rivaling that of The Lord of the Rings, and I give it a solid 9/10 |

| I loved the movie! Even though it wasn't exactly like the book, I think it came together nicely. I give it a 10/10! Hehe, I even memorized the whole movie with my friend! We are kind of crazy, but not obsessed... I think. Anyway, I loved the movie and the second one and can't wait until the third! (by the way, we are trying to memorize the second movie too! hehe) |

| the arts department really went to town with an amazing 10/10 look, the intricate detail to various sets was absolutely amazing!!! the special effects were breath taking my fav's being the quidditch, chess game and the entrance to Diagon Alley, which i luv every time i watch it, and there are many others.
i wouldn't have the actors any other way now (except i'd play Hermione hee hee) as they all feel, to me, right for the parts. i think that their acting abilities has grow through the movie and they are better in COS than PS.
i admit when i read the buks i came up with my own version of wot things looked like e.g. the grounds, characters, Diagon Alley etc and i still revert to my own view of things when i read the buk but the film is still good
everytime i watch the scenes in the forest with Voldemort with his eerie flying movements along with the music it scars me lol to a young child it must be spine chilling.
i luv the music in the film it fits perfectly!!
Even though there were parts off the buk missed out which i think should have been in overall i thought the first installment of HP on film was amazing!! it is the first film ive ever been to see and the audience clapped at the end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROLL ON EVEN MORE FILMS |

| Not that I didn't like this movie. It was a stunning piece of art that was amazingly fun to watch, but I found things that made it dull and depleting. Here are some things that made it bad! BAD
1. Visual Effects: I relize they weren't great because of the movies low budget, but even so, it made the movie loose it's magic and turn it into garbage. The very boring and unattractive Quidditch Scene, with the CGI players that all looked alike. The imported faces to try and make a speck of realism. The troll would look nice if it hadn't resembled most video game characters we've seen in the past. Its design bored me, plus the CGI Harry on it's back. The HP video games seem to have better animation than the movies. Hogwarts had officially lost its glow at times, when the school had the look of a bouncy castle or paper machete.
2. Missing Scene: There was many plot lines they destoryed in order to keep the mystery solvible for children. This made it angering for the people who had read the books, plus the way they put the movie together made the movie TOO easy to solve for the people who didn't.
But there is things I did enjoy. The acting was quite good, but sometimes it was childish. The script was well written, but some of the charaters' lines seemed to be thought up by some kindergarten students.
I give this movie 6/10 |

| This movie was nothing compared to the book. They left out a lot of vital parts of the story, such as Snape refereeing Harry's Quidditch match against Hufflepuff. Although we did get 2 c how the characters looked, it was still substandard compared to the book. I give it 3/10.
