| 3 /10 This movie made me mad... I was sitting in the theater at midnight on the day it was released.. Telling my sister "that never happend" over and over.. They really did not even read the book... because if they did the would have realized how Mad Ron and Hermione really were at each other... How Harry and Hermione got into the whompping willow... it was the cat... not the tree.. How the whole story about the map and its history was dropped.. That was important to Harry and Sirius.... About how Harry got his Care of Magical Creatures book... How long he stayed in the Leaky Cauldron... When he got his Firebolt.. It was for X Mas... not at the end of the book... I didn't like how they think it's ok to change what ever the want in the movie... compared to the book.... this movie was the worst... I only got the movie to complete my collection.. I also didn't like the replacement of Dumbledore... They have him walking around in all gray... the books have him wearing Blues and Purples... with moons and stars.... and a real wizards hat not that lump of cloth on his head.... All the cast from the first two movies all ROCKED......................................... The Goblet of fire is my fav book... If they mess up this movie like they did #3... they will loose a true HP fan (movies ONLY).......... I will always love the books... and will always support the first movies....
HARRY POTTER IS THE BEST..........

| 6/10. Enough to keep me interested but losing the real feel of the book. A bit rushed too. I prefer the Chamber of Secrets and Socerer's Stone. If it's precise and true to the book then I'll sit through 7 hours of it. I didn't like how shorten PoA was. |

i think this is the best HP movie ever, altho' it's a bit rush and i don't like 2 things
1. the firebolt scene
2. hermione
otherwise, it's all okay
HP 1 and 2 altho' stay true to be book, i've found it a bit boring
i think each HP movie should be more than 2 hours long, because the books contains so many elements critical for the storyline and they seem to left it out because of the time constaints.
overall i like PoA, tho' i'm not really crazy about it, but the director (Cuaron) seems to know what's he's doing. |

| I didn't like how they completely hacked away at the plot in the book but then again there was some really good acting. I also liked how in the PoA, they kept most of the movie in darkness like the whole film was filmed on days that had an overcast sky, it brought out the mysteriousness that should be in a HP movie. But the whole thing they did to the plot really irks my feelings on the movie. So I'm gonna rate it as a 7/10. |

| I believe PoA was a good movie, although not thaaat wonderful movie everyone talks about.
Don't get me wrong, I love it, and I believe it is a wonderful development from Chris Columbus. I really hated the way he handled the first two movies, but this is a discussion for another thread.
Regarding PoA I like the fact that Cuaron understood that the audience had changed and that he needed a more adult approach to the story. This was a wonderful development. Besides, the filming was very neat, and I liked -unlike many others- that Cuaron took a artistic licence, let me call it this way, to include things of his own vision. I think that is wonderful, because it makes the films richer. I believe that if you want something faithful, there is nothing like the book. Otherwise, be open for some changes .. although I like them to be slight changes.
I would give this movie a 7 1/2 over 10. |

| I liked it but I cannot say I liked it as much as I wanted to. I believe that the director should have followed the book a bit more. I liked the plot behind it with the warewolve and sirius. But all around it was a great film |

| | | Ok, I'm sorry, but Alfonso Cuarón? Not my favorite director. He's hardly directed any movies at all...I was expecting this to be really good, but I was a bit disappointed. Blackouts? Come on Alfonso, even I know that it loses the attention of the audience. I mean, sure, it added a certain flare of mysteriousness, but it just bored me after a while. | |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Emma | I certainly agree that one should not try to use the book to much for references when it comes down to the movies. Unfortunately, there is no way most movies can do justice to most books - just too much material to cover. I also agree that, by leaving out the Marauder's Map was a huge loss, and that not to explain the Padfoot, Prongs, Moony and Wormtail connection was a big mistake. But, on the whole, this film was my favorite because it brought out Hermione's character strengths without impinging on Harry's. I also loved the Hippogrif flying scenes and loved the concept of the timeturmer. I have to give it a 9/10. |

| I owuld give it like a 9. I really liked the POA cause it had a lot of humor in it! I loved the Mauraders map scene with fred and George! I also like when Ron wakes up and he is like "spiders spiders they want me to tap dance!" I love it! But yes at the same time they missed a lot in the movie. but i think all the movies will be like that cause the books are huge! But i think if they just put all the details in it would be better. Even though it would be a lot longer, the hp fans would be a lot more satisfied! |

| Hmm... i don't know... an 8.5.
I rate it an 8.5 because the movie was good with the special effects, but it wasn't scare your socks off movie like the prevous 2. GoF had more scary events and made me squeal in the theater. This movie didn't. I thought it sort of sucked. But many parts had humor. I personly enjoy Dre Head. I've seen this movie most then the others so it's probably better to me. |

| to be completely honest, it wasnt all that good. I mean, the movie itself was pretty good.... although not much went on in the areas of explanations, but overall it was ok. However, I REALLY didn't like how much was cut out. Way too much was missing and what was there wasn't right (in my mind) at all. Plus, there were WAY too few Snape scenes.... the dratted director cut out almost all of his parts :@ argh. That made me mad. I'd give this movie a 7/10, and thats being generous. I had expected alot more because of all of the books, this is my fav. |
