Name: David Tennant
Real Name: David John McDonald
Born: April 18, 1971
Where: Bathgate, West Lothian
Height: 6’’1
At the age of three, David told his parents that he wanted to be an actor, since he was mad about Doctor Who. Beginning his career at the British Theatre, he frequently performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Also performing in several audio plays that were based on the Doctor Who series (he didn’t play the Doctor), David was doing small rolls in the BBC animated webcast Scream of the Shalka.
David was a candidate to take the role of the ninth Doctor for the series, although the role was taken by Christopher Eccleston, who then made an announcement that he will not be returning for the second season, making Mr. Tennant become the new Doctor.
Fulfilling his childhood dream, David Tennant still continues to dazzle us with his wild acting skills.
Trivia:
• David collects Doctor Who DVDs

• His first acting experience was touring Scotland in a minibus for 7:84 Scottish People's Theatre
