Name: Imelda Staunton
Born: January 9th, 1956
Where: London, England
Height: 5'
An only child, Imelda Staunton was born into a Irish catholic family. There was no acting tradition in her little family, but her mother could play the fiddle and an accordion making the young Imelda share her mother’s musical abilities. This musical talent that she had gained would help her go into show business.
Imelda had always involved herself in school plays when she was a student at La Sainte Union which has helped her become the successful actress she is today. She was encouraged to take on acting as a full time job, thus she was keen to learn about the craft more than just to seek fame.
At the age of 17 she was accepted by RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art), and from that point on her career has blossomed to include role in 'A Chorus of Disapproval' and 'The Corn is Green'. We know her as the horrible Delores Umbridge in the Harry Potter films.
