Son of a postal worker and a hairdresser, Spall is one of the most respectable actors of our time. He is best known for working with the director Mike Leigh both on stage and screen.
Studying in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA), he earned the school’s Bandcroft Gold Medal, which made him head for the stage. One of his successes were his performance as Bottom in the theatre production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Most of Spall’s feature film appearances consist of supporting roles, but he was recognized as a respectable actor in the 1990s, making him what his is today.
Trivia: [x]Timothy Spall played a rat in two movies. He provided the voice of Nick the rat in Chicken Run (2000) and as Ron Weasley's rat Scabbers in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004).
