Miranda was born into a small family of four, having one older sister. At an early age she discovered her love of and ability for acting, performing in various school productions. Leaving school at the age of 17, she considered a number of study options before deciding to attend the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. There she honed her skills for 3 years before graduating. Miranda quickly became involved in theatre roles before also moving into British television and films. In the years since she has performed in numerous theatre, television and film roles in a number of countries around the world. We know her best as the crafty reporter Rita Skeeter in the Harry Potter movies.

- Miranda describes herself as a bit of a loner – she lives alone with her two cats Otis and Waldo, and dog Liv.
