The third in a family of four boys, Jason Isaacs displayed a talent for acting early in life. Moving to London from Liverpool at the age of 11, he faked an accent in order to not stick out in his new surroundings. He became a popular student at Haberdashers Aske’s Boys School, which he attended until 1981.
He then went on to Bristol University to study law. However, during this time he discovered his love for acting, directing and acting in over 20 productions. He decided to give up his thoughts of becoming and lawyer and turned to acting full time. Leaving Bristol, he transferred to London's Central School of Speech and Drama where he studied for a further 3 years.
Jason soon earned breakthrough roles in TV and film, and has gone on to star in many productions and work with some of the most well known actresses and actors in the world today. We know him best as the cunning Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films.
