Timothy Sydney Robert Hardy was born to to Jocelyn Dugdale and Henry Harrison Hardy in Cheltenham, England on October 29th, 1925. He was educated at Rugby School and Oxford University where he earned his a degree in English.
Robert Hardy began his career as an actor appearing as Henry V on stage and in
An Age of Kings on TV. While playing Henry V, Hardy developed an interest in medieval warfare. Because of this he later he wrote an acclaimed television documentary on the Battle of Agincourt and has written two books on the Longbow and The Great War Bow'. Television viewers remember him best as Siegfried Farnon in
"All Creatures Great and Small" but his most critically acclaimed performance was as Winston Churchhill in a mini series called
Winston Churchill: The Wilderness Years
Although he isn't a well know actor in Hollywood, we all know him as the pompus Cornelius Fudge in the Harry Potter films.
Interesting Facts:
