Receiving a Tony Award, Frances de la Tour is considered to be a highly talented actress. She attended a drama school where she received her theatrical training, and from that point she had went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1965. Playing small roles in the next six years, gradually built up to larger parts such as Hoyeden in ‘The Relapse’
She is best known for playing spinster Ruth Jones in the hit ‘Rising Damp’ but Frances did not get on well with her co-star Leonard Rossiter. We know her as the giantess, Madam Maxime in the Goblet of Fire.
