Her father’s illness hastened Helena into acting so she may quickly impress her father before he passed.
In 1982 and at the age of sixteen she got her first acting job as Juliet in a stereo ad. After that her real break came. Accompanying her school friend for comfort, she was noticed by the producers, and got the part of the Edwardian ghost from Nothing Hill. That helped Helena take her acting career to another level.
