My goodness, this book happens to be my joint favourite (along with POA). The character development was fantastic; we see Draco not as a simple-minded bully any more, but as a 3 dimensional person, with his own worries, and perhaps even a conscience. The ending was unexpected, and provoked tears which never EVER happens when I'm reading literature. The emptiness that Harry's feeling shows the loss of an incredibly important person in his life, and I don't see how JK could have written it better. DEFINITELY 10/10 from me.

My opinion exactly...The end in this book wasn't like any end of the other 5 books that shows Harry on the train going back to the Durselys but it was different.

The Half-Blooded Prince was definitely the most different from the other Harry Potter Books, but it was also the most interesting. This book contained a lot of twists from the characters; like Draco for example. Draco was shown more as a “push over” than a bully in this book than in the other books. This book also contained romance (yay!) with Hermione and Ron, as well as Harry and Ginny. The other books hinted teenage romance but this book actually put it into detail. I have to say that this book definitely showed the Golden Trio more mature than they have been in the other series. Overall, this book was amazing and very different from the other Harry Potter series.

The book amazed me. It was stylishly written, in my opinion. I also found the fighting infuriating, but I found that to be a good sign-gettng heavily involved with the book.

I did find Harry's sudden interest in Ginny weird-and his chest monster?JKR could have written it better, because I believe she dealt with Harry's crush on Cho very well, and the example of Ron and Hermione.

Snape was portrayed very ambiguously throughout the book, which I felt was well done. The fights between him and Dumbledore, I believe, are the key to the next book and could perhaps explain his decison; whether he made an Unbreakable Vow or whether Dumbledore pushed Snape too far.

Overall, I felt it was beautifully written(if you ignore Harry's chest monster) and was miles past my expectations. The character development in this book was extraordinary; no longer is Draco a typical 2D bully, we even see Voldemort's background and begin to understand how it shaped him

I think Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is one of the best books to this day. J.K. Rowling really seems to know how to make the character part of you and as he goes through his times of trouble and triumph it's as though your on an emotional rollercoaster thoughout the book. I do have my ups and downs about it but i certainly do like the story becasue i think J.K. made things happen that had to happen sooner or later.

OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!MY.GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! I like the HP.
I agree with everyone the book was just great.
When Harry and ginny kissed, I was like finally, about time. I really cried when DD died. I alway thought Sirius was going to die, but not DD. Snape, I think he still a good guy. I think DD wanted Snape to kill him.

I feel kinda sorry for Harry, everyone he loves is diying. I think Harry will die in the seventh book.

8/10 This is the book which makes you think. It's the one which makes you refer back to the others books to check your facts. It sets the stage for the finale.

The Half-Blood Prince is a book full of suprises, twists and sadness. We had deaths in the other books, but with the death of Dumbledore it really hits home...hard.

Review: Finally, the characters are getting somewhere! dumbledore dies, yes, but we get to see everyone grow up a little. This novel of the series provides new ideas for what's going to happen. Rowling writes it perfectly to make us feel sympathy and anger to the characters. This is a masterpiece.

8-10.

I definitely don't agree! How could Harry die? That would be so... so... so... TRAGIC!!!!!! People would be throwing rotten tomatoes at JKR! I'm sure she doesn't want that.

Anyways. Off track.

I think, overall, the 6th HP book was okay. That's pretty bad, because all the other ones were fantastic, extraordinary, unbelievable... that stuff. I mean, JKR did a pretty good job, just like any of the books, but the 6th one just wasn't as great as the other ones. Especially the first few chapters... I've read it two times and those chapters are always a drag.

I loved The Half-Blood Price. It was very good. The only reason that I don't rank it higher on m list of favourites(it's #4)is because she killed Dumbledore. I loved Dumbledore, and was so ddevistated when he died

My favourite so far.
(ahhh, I think it's got something to do with Draco not acting like a complete *** for once )
And the saddest death ever...

The darkness of HBP shows that Harry's fate is not going to be a cakewalk. Although it adds many pieces to the puzzle, it enlarges to puzzle tremendously. There are more opinions about this book than any other one. It's like a spider web which just keeps getting bigger. I have no idea how JKR is going to wrap up this entire series in just one more book. It will be a monumental task.

I do think that this is the best book so far. It does seem to carry on that dark edge, but I think that it introduces more elements of humour.

When you first pick up the book, you think you know where it's going and what there is left to be done, but the story takes you on another journey. As said before, I do not now how it is all going to be wrapped up in the final installment, but I tell you, I can't wait to find out!

I loved it! There were so many unexpected twists in it! It also showed us a different side of our now for sure evil characters - Draco and Snape. HBP also showed us that Hermione and Ron do have feelings for each other. The sad part of course was that Dumbledore died, but now that leaves open that same question we had with Sirius: Will he come back to life in the last book? I personally loved this book!!

I think the book was the best so far. It may have been very confusing, but there was a lot of action and suspense. The only reason i didnt like it was Dumbledore dying. I hate how J.K. built him up to be such a great wizard and just kill him off in that way, but i guess he was gonna die eventually so watever.

The book was awesome, and it definately left me waiting for the return of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I loved the plot. I love that Harry and Ginny finally get together, and i was upset that they broke up at the end of the book. But i really don't think that's the end of the Harry/Ginny relationship. I didn't like that they killed off Dumbledore because he was my favorite character, but you could tell that it was coming. He lived a good life and left an amazing legacy. I think that J.K. Rowling has outdone herself again and i can't wait until July 21st when she releases her 7th and final installment of the most amazing series I've ever read!!!!!!!!!!11

I read the fifth one, and cried my heart out. then, i read this one, and i think i ran out of tears! gosh! i loved...absolutely loved it! it kept me interested, and i actually read about 8 hours straight without stopping...the fifth one didnt really appeal to me, so i was happy that this one came....but was there any way that she could have NOT kille Dumbledore? he is so inocent and nice and sweet and wise and everything good! why couldt sumone not important die like snape or Fleur Delacore(hate her).....i have this book like 8 times, and every single time i cry even tho i know whats going to happen. i was so angry at J.K for killing Dumbledore, but i forgive her. it was a good book.

The book was crammed with adventure and mystery. Thats probably why its one of my favourite books! The intriguity of the mystery left behind leaves us HP fans screaming for the answer to all of it. JKR focused on Ron and Hermione, I believe and let that ship get nasty, BUT it was obvious that they're in love... There was a lot of emotional changing with the characters. I absolutely loved reading about Dumbledore's lessons with Harry (though it can can get duller when you read the book over and over again) and the memories they visited. But, I just couldn't believe how Dumbledore died. He was weak, wandless yet fearless. My guess is that Dumbledore sacrificed himself to Draco, to show the others that death is not the worst that can happen. But what really leaves me stumped is the mystery behind Snape. (I still think he's good) JKR couldn't have put it better!
