Hogwarts RPG Name: Zoey Ickle First | This book is great. I really liked how they put it but it seems to me like they has left out a lot of details. To me it seemed like it just jumped from her to there, then to their. But other than that is was good. I rate it an 8! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Saroja First | Where to start....
By and far, this is the worst of all the Harry Potters, possibly including the fake Harry Potter book - Harry Potter and Leopard-Walk-Up-To-Dragon
The book progression was slow, drab, and heavy-handed. Harry went from being an emotional, brave, and bluntly honest teenager to being a Dawson's Creek cut-out with the emotional depth of a pog. His growth is further hampered by the fact that while being hurt and terrorized by the meaninglessness of Cedric's death, he seemingly accepts the death of Sirius -- the closest thing to a real family he's ever had -- in the same manner as one accepts being served fish sticks in the school cafeteria.
The obtuse focus on relationships was out-of-character for the series, and seemingly occupied 2/3 of the plot. While Voldemort's own development is at once cleverly portrayed through a series of collected memory flashbacks, his current motivations are further blurred and confused. He went from being a clever, maniacal leader to being a person for whom the comparison to terrorists cannot be rationally avoided. Furthermore, he seemingly has gone from being a person simply seeking power to a maniacal nutcase out of a pinky-and-the-brain sketch.
During all of this, the character development of most people is stunted, meanwhile we see Malfoy going from being a sniveling bully to a three-dimensional, angst ridden child who is a victim of circumstance -- thus negating the other five books of development put into his character.
The _______ scene was the worst deus ex machina of a plot device I've ever read. Considering I've had the misforutne of reading Ayn Rand novels, that says a lot. Within a single chapter, all outstanding unresolved plot issues are magically fixed with a '________,' which negates Rowling's previous emphasis on self-determinism in the book. Rather than come up with a clever means as per the previous 5 books (though in OotP, even that can be argued against), Harry simply takes a dose of a potion, and wham, everything is resolved and everyone is happy.
I fear reading book 7. It seems that after book 4, the series has taken a turn for the worst, in my opinion.

| When I read HBP for the first time, I felt like it was a fanfiction... but it's now my favorite out of the whole series. I can't wait until the seventh book!!
I definitely cried when Dumbledore died, and at some of his lines, like "I am not worried, Harry, I am with you."
I laughed a lot too, especially when Jo gave a heads-up to the movies by making Slughorn slip up and call Ron "Rupert".
Jo Rowling is a fantastic author and has a real way with words... I find myself comparing each book I read now to the Harry Potter books. GO JO!! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Jonathan Dexter Rainey First Year Ministry RPG Name:
Isaac Belko Minister's Office | As Harry Potter was getting ready to start another miserable summer with his only relatives, dreadful as they may be the Dursley’s, he was stunned to receive a letter from Professor Dumbledore announcing that he would be over to pick up Harry at the end of that very week. You can only imagine how Harry felt that Friday when he found his headmaster waiting at the door. But there were more surprise to come before meeting the Weasleys in the Burrow. Dumbledore was about to tell Harry about their future lessons together!
During the school year, Harry and Dumbledore solved many mysteries on Voldemort’s life. What brought him towards evil? How did he survive? And most importantly of all, an obscurity Dumbledore himself could not resolve alone: What are horcruxes and how did the Dark Lord use them? These questions appear throughout their adventure and bring us to the climax of the novel.
For the sixth time, J. K. Rowling struck me with her unusual talent of combining knowledge with imagination to form an extraordinary place where boundaries do not exist and where a reader’s mind can wander on its own. I took pleasure in reading this novel because it’s my ideal world. If I would have created the world, this is the way it would be, without Lord Voldemort of course. These are the books that take me away.
Although I loved the book, I found that it was a little less exciting than I expected and that the previous plots were more developed. However, I really enjoyed the meetings between Dumbledore and Harry, these helped us to put together facts and to understand the hints Rowling gave us in the previous books. This 6th volume of the series brings us answers to most of our questions. As for the few problems with no solution, they are the cause of suspense in the end of the book that leaves us waiting impatiently for her 7th and last novel.
The characters in this book are simply fantastic. They all have great qualities which make you fall in love with them straight away. Not only that, but Rowling also adds faults to most of her cast to make them seem more realistic and to create more connections between them and the readers. Some supporting characters like Fred and George add spice to the story; their funny sides are helpful in many events in the novel, besides, what’s a story without a little humor?
I recommend this book to anyone who appreciates fantasy, adventure and a battle between good and evil, and to everyone who simply like a little magic added to their everyday life. Enjoy yourself as you unravel the many mysteries of Harry Potter! |

| I thought the sixth book was absolutley brilliant. To all those who disagree a am very sorry. In my opinion the book was a lot faster of a read than the others and was at times disturbingly upbeat. I was very upset when ____ died because i felt they had been a mentor to Harry througout the past books. And while most people suspect the murderer of being a double agent for voldemort i expect they will come to the rescue and aid Harry in the next novel. |

| I personally loved this book. I thought it was great and i liked that it wasnt a thousand pages. Im so excited to see what happens in the next and final novel. I know that most people think Snape is a bad guy but i think he's a double agent for Dumbldore and he will help Harry in the end defeat Lord Voldemort! If Snape truly wanted Harry dead he could of easily arranged it by now. He's had six years to do it and hasn't. Dumbledore pleaded with Snape to kill him so Malfoy would not become a murderer. Malfoy might also become a good guy. But i really dont know and it will drive me crazy until i find out. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Allie Laird Sixth | I thought the book was fanastic! I've read it three times now, almost four, and I still am intersested! I thought the concept behind the HBP was really good. I had a vague idea about it, but you could never really know for sure. At the last few chapters when JK mentions the Horcruxes, I thought that it was a fantastic idea! It would make sence. The idea of there being 7 is amazing and I am very currious about what they are. I loved how she always puts a twist in the book, but Dumbledore dying!!! That really shcked me! I couldn't believe it! Over the boook was fantastic and by far my favourite!!! 5 out of 5 stars! |

| i think this book is not thick enough... stuff were a bit crammed when JK could just add up a few hundred pages.. i mean.. all those fine details she'd always had in previous books are not in here.. all those unnecessary but pleasant and wonderful stuff... i wont complain if it's thick.. i would really LOVE it! who's with me???? |

| LOVED the book! Until the very end. Devastating that Snape killed Dumbledore.....BUT I'm not so sure that is what really happened. I think, in Book 7, that Dumbledore will either be alive and had a deal with Snape to fake his death or Snape thinks he killed Dumbledore but it was really someone impersonating him....... I don't know. Theories, theories, theories |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Shel Ambrose Seventh Year | Rating: 9/ 10 - Yup - It seriously rocks! Everyday I have wanted to come here and voice my own opinions about the book but – in short – I always get too engrossed in other sections of SS and forget to pen down what my feelings towards Rowling’s latest installment in the Harry Potter series are.
Broadly speaking – The book was awesome. It had drawbacks too – like any other good book [For Heaven’s sake even War and Peace has some of those] but it’s my favourite Potter book yet. It’s true that Harry doesn’t’ come in until the third chapter – But that makes the book much more exciting. The first chapter is really very well written. I like the fact that Rowling gave us a bit of insight on what was going on at the “Other Minister’s.” In fact the first chapter has me really, really hooked. *nods* The second is even better – One might say that everything about Snape’s hypocrisy is revealed too early – After all we’re only on the second chapter. But since Jo wrote the rest of the book in accordance with this, it doesn’t really matter – In fact the way Jo wrote the book the chapter is best suited at #2 or #3.
In the third Chapter Harry finally comes in and that chapter is equally spectacular. I love the way she described everything – Especially how she penned down the “problematic part of the legacy” in it. Everything was very well-explained and well-written. I loved the fact that Harry had finally controlled his scattered emotions and sentiments and stopped wallowing in the loss of his beloved godfather. I loved his determination and not-so-quick but still quick recovery. Jo rocks.
Horace Slughorn – another of Rowling’s perfect characters. If she’s fashioned one she’s fashioned a hundred. She fashioned that character in an amazing way – at one point we like him, next second we’re not sure if he’s our type of guy after all. Next moment we’re again thinking he’s not that bad after all. That’s the quirkiest aspect about his personality – He’s a scaredy-pants we can all tell but still we can’t bring our selves to hate him and at the same time we don’t exactly love him. It all just goes on to show that Jo has only improved at creating enthralling and bewildering characters. Bewildering is right – He does bewilder me.
Okay – So the things are a bit rushed on from this point – At least I think so and so do many others. But I also feel that the book might have become boring if things had gone slower. Readers would simply lose interest. Rowling knew what she was doing. I also like the bit about Phlegm Fleur in the fifth chapter. It was a nice touch to introduce her there. The book has been rather dramatic till that chapter and Fleur’s presence in the chapter gave it a more light-hearted touch. And it was especially great to see Hermione and Ginny battling a resentful feeling of jealousy towards her as their boys – Oops! I meant as Harry and Ron are unintentionally attracted towards the part-Veela beauty. And it was also kind of comical to see how Mrs. Weasley felt towards Fleur.
The Sixth Chapter [Draco’s Detour] was really good too. It was intriguing and exciting and it was where we really got full of suspense. It certainly electrified me. I also loved the idea about the Slug Club. It gave us so much more insight into Professor Slughorn’s personality and Rowling’s knack to create memorable characters. Plus Snape Victorious was a really mind-boggling chapter. One wonders why Dumbledore handed the job to Professor Snape – Exciting eh? The introduction of the Half Blood Prince’s Potions Book and that of Felix Felicis is really great too. I however feel to get why Hermione whose O.W.L Level Potions were always perfect suddenly loses her ability to be a brilliant Potions-maker in this book. Rowling – in order to show how amazing the Half Blood Prince’s tips were – somehow seems to have forgotten that the Half-Blood Prince shouldn’t affect Hermione’s Potion-making abilities.
The lessons with Dumbledore were highly engaging. We learn so much about Voldemort, go to places we have never been to before, let our imaginations wander and as Harry struggles to retrieve the memories and how they shall help – So do we. In short – The Lessons were a definite plus point to the story. Rowling couldn’t’ have shown how Harry was equipping himself against Voldemort in a better way. And two chapters that really touched me included “After the Burial” and “Sectumsempra.” The former was full of unexpected twists and turns and it seemed to radiate an aura of pure suspense and excitement. In the second we see how humane Draco Malfoy really is. It shows that there’s a very good chance of him coming to the right path. Plus I’d never thought Malfoy could break down like this and actually cry.
The last few chapters beginning from “The Seer Overheard” were the ones that were really really splendid. For me, most of the best ones were actually the last few chapters. They were those when excitement, suspense, thrills and chills were all at their climax. Only yesterday I was sitting in my room and reading “The Cave” and the chapters after that. When Dumbledore falls – apparently dead – a tear actually fell down my cheek and I’m not one to cry easily. In those chapters I felt that all the scattered emotions transferred inside me and I actually shivered while reading the part where Harry forces Dumbledore to drink the Potion.
Now coming to the drawbacks: Ron and Hermione’s fights – They showed that they were beginning to really like each other but sometime the tension between them grew so much that, although it was but natural, I began to feel tensed and a teensy bit infuriated. Plus Ron and Lavender’s relationship seemed to have no starting point – There weren’t any causes leading up to it. It should have been explained better. It’s natural for a freckled red-head of sixteen to realize that he needs a girl friend but really – Jo needed to make everything clearer to her readers: How it came about and all that. And Harry fell in love with Ginny too suddenly. Okay so he realized she was popular, determined, fierce, handsome, understanding, not the giggly, flower-and-candy type of girl and close to him – The very type of girl suitable for him if he wanted a girl friend. But it seemed that Jo rushed into the relationships. They ought to have been clearer. Like we’ve known Ron and Hermione are into each other since the third book.
Drawback # 2 – Dumbledore’s death: Everybody’s reaction to it I mean. Okay so Madam Pomfrey and Professor McGonagall were teary-eyed enough. And the trio felt it too. But nobody seemed as shocked as I’d expected. Mrs. Weasley had eyes only for Bill and she didn’t even pretend that she was sorry when she heard Dumbledore had died. It was a bit unnatural I mean – I expected the shock to be greater.
So that’s a whole list of good points and several faults. Overall Half-Blood Prince was a beautifully-written book and I give it 9/ 10. Go Half-Blood Prince. And incidentally I don’t’ believe Dumbledore is really dead or that Snape is actually a traitor.
