Aingingein – An old Irish broom-game
Annual broom race – An yearly broom race in Sweden
Appleby Arrows - Quidditch team from Northern England founded in 1612. They wear pale blue robes with a silver arrow on the chest and have a fierce rivalry with the Wimbourne Wasps
B
Ballycastle Bats - Northern-Ireland’s most celebrated Quidditch team. They wear black robes with a scarlet bat on the chest and have a mascot, Barny the Fruit bat
Banchory Bangers - An old Scottish team known for their poor skills and post-match parties
Beat Back Those Bludgers, Boys and Chuck That Quaffle Here - Pudlemere United’s anthem recorded by Celestina Warbeck
Beater - Position whose job it is to direct the Bludgers at the other team
Bigonville Bombers - Team from Luxembourg
Blagging - Quidditch foul that applies to all; Seizing opponents broom tail to slow or hinder
Blatching - Quidditch Foul that applies to all; Flying with the intent to collide
Blooder - Old name for Bludger
Bludger - Iron ball 10 inches in diameter that attempt to knock players off their brooms
Bludger Backbeat - A move where the Beater strikes the Bludger with a backhanded club swing, sending it behind him/her rather than in front. Difficult to bring off with precision but excellent for confusing opponents
Bluebottle - A broom type
Blurting - Quidditch foul that applies to all; Locking broom handles with a view to steering opponents broom off course
Braga Broomfleet - Portuguese Quidditch team
Bumphing - Beaters foul; Hitting Bludger towards the crowd necessitating a halt of the game as officials rush to protect bystanders.

Caerphilly Catapults - Welsh team formed in 1402 that wear vertically striped robes of light green and scarlet. Their most famous player was 'Dangerous' Dai Llewellyn
Catcher - Probably the old term for Chaser
Chaser – Players who handle the quaffle and score goals
Chaser Hawkshead Attacking Formation - A Quidditch move developed by Darren O’Hare
Chudley Cannons - British Quidditch team that haven’t won the league since 1892. They wear bright orange robes with a cannon ball and a double ‘C’ in black
Cleansweep, 5, 7 and 11 - Brooms developed for sport use
Cleansweep Broom Company – Broom company started by the 3 brothers Ollerton in 1926
Cobbing - Quidditch foul that applies to all; Excessive use of elbows towards opponents
Comet - A broom type
Comet Trading Company - Broom company started in 1929 by Dandolph Keitch and Basil Horton
Comet Two Sixty - A broom type
Creaothceann - Ancient and dangerous Scottish broom-game. Each player had a cauldron strapped to their heads, and at the sound of a horn or drum, up to a hundred charmed rocks fell to the ground. Players tried to catch as many rocks in their cauldron as possible. It was very popular, despite a huge number of fatalities, but was made illegal in 1762

Dom - The ball in Aingingein; actually the gallbladder of a goat
Double Eight Loop - Keeper Defence; usually employed against penalty takers, whereby the Keeper swerves around all three goal hoops at high speed to block the Quaffle
Dropplebeater Defence - Both Beaters hit a Bludger at the same time for extra power, resulting a Bludger attack of greater severity

Falmouth Falcons – Team that wear dark-grey and white robes with a falcon head emblem across the chest. They are known for hard play, a reputation made by their world famous beaters Kevin and Karl Broadmoor
Firebolt - A racing broom
Fitchburg Finches - Team from Massachusetts, USA. They have won the US League 7 times
Flacking – Keeper foul; Putting any portion of autonomy through goal hoop to punch Quaffle out
Flyte and Barkers - Manufacturers of Twigger 90 in 1990

HeIdelberg Harries - A German Quidditch team
Holyhead Harpies - A very old Welsh Quidditch Club, founded in 1203, unique because they only hire witches. They wear dark green robes with a gold talon on their chest
Hunter - Old term for Seeker

Keeper - Position for guarding the goalposts and preventing the opposing chasers from scoring
Kenmare Kestrels - An Irish Quidditch team founded in 1291 famous worldwide for the spirited displays of their leprechaun mascots. They wear emerald green robes with two yellow K’s back, to back on the chest

Quidditch World Cup, The – World wide Quidditch competition held every 4 years
Quijudge - Old name for Quidditch referee
Quod - Ball in Quodpot, really a modified Quaffle
Quodpot - A variation of Quidditch that has 11 players on each side. The Quod is thrown from member to member, attempting to get it into the pot before it explodes. Any player in the possession of the Quod when it explodes must leave the pitch. Once the Quod is in the pot, the team gets a point. Quodpot is popular in US

Reverse Pass - Quidditch move; A Chaser throws the Quaffle backwards to a team member

Shooting Star - Broom from Universals Brooms Ltd. In 1955
Shuntbumps - A broom-game that was popular in Devon, England. The sole aim was to knock as many players of their broom, the last one sitting won. Survives only as a children’s game

Stichstock - Ancient German broom-game. A 20 foot high pole was topped with an inflated dragon bladder. One player defended the bladder, while others try to puncture it. The game finished when the bladder was punctured, or the guardian was either exhausted or had hexed the other players. The game died out in the 14 century

Wigtown Wanderers - This Quidditch club was founded in 1422 by the 7 offspring of Walter Parkin, and they rarely lost a match. A Parkin descendant has often been found on the team. They wear blood-red robes with a silver meat cleaver on the chest
Wimbourne Wasps - Quidditch team founded in 1312. They have won the league 18 times and wear horizontally striped robes of yellow and black with a wasp on the chest
Woolongong Shimmy - Chaser move; A high speed zigzagging movement to throw off Chasers
Woollongong Warriors - An Australian Quidditch team
Wronski Feint - Seeker move; The Seeker speeds towards the ground, pretending to have seen the Snitch just over the ground, intending to make the other Seeker copy him and crash
