Technically the house belongs to Zebhdiyah Black, but mainly he stays in the library or his bedroom, immersed in work. His son, Leo, runs the place. There are a multitude of house-elves running around, cleaning this gigantic mansion every day. There are so many rooms that even children who grew up here, would get lost. And the backyard gardens are stunning. Presley Black is the Princess of the Palace. Every elf and person alike caters to her every whim, and she hates it.

Scene: Presley has invited friends over for a few weeks of the summer for pool parties, sleepovers, and general fun.

Leo stepped inside, he didn't have much time right now. He set his present for Presley down on the couch, and ran up three flights of stairs to his bedroom. Hurridley changing out of his work clothes, Leo donned muggle jeans and a tee-shirt. He ran back down the stairs, and out of the door, ready to pick Presley up at the trainstation, and hoping he was on time.

New Time
Leo opened the door for the three girls and followed them inside. "Hey guys, welcome home." He smiled. "Reeli, I've got something for you," Leo said to Presley, calling her by the name she'd called herself as a child, when she couldn't pronounce 'Presley.' He pulled out the wrapped up Twigger 101, and presented it to his sister.

Presley skipped into her home, as Leo held the door. "Well, this is home," she said to Rachel and Luna. Then she turned to Leo, "Where's dad?" She stopped as he said he had a present for her, and handed her a suspiciously broom-shaped parcel. "Is this what I think it is?" She asked slowly, unwrapping to to reveal the broom she'd been wanting since before it appeared in 'coming soon' ads. Leo had gotten her a Twigger. She screamed. "Oh my MERLIN, Leo!!!! I love you!!! Thank you so much!" Launching into her brother's arms, Presley gave him a giant hug. She turned back to her best friends. "I'm gonna run and see my dad, then we NEED to try this out."

Zebhdiyah sat in the library, studying. Reading up on human emotion, since he didn't seem to have much of that these days. He heard the door open, and knew that his daughter was home. Sighing, he stood and placed the book back on the shelves. Time to face reality. He stepped out of the library, and walked slowly down the long halls to the front door. Spotting his daughter he gave her a light, obligatory hug, trying hard not to think about how much she looked like Jamey. "Presley, you've grown taller this year." His voice was void of emotion, but he was surprised. His smallest child never grew much, but it was noticeable now, because he hadn't seen her all year? Maybe. "I'll put some more money into your account so you can go shopping for clothes, yours must be getting too short by now." She was at least two inches taller, and thinner, somewhat...Were they not feeding her at that school? Was she stressed into running too much? Zebhdiyah knew his child ran when she was stressed, and he supported it as a good way to work through emotion, but if she was losing weight...He would have to speak to her head of house about this before next term.

Luna grinned and looked around it was bigger than her house but not by much it was very nice and well kept she never called her house home! she felt like she had been here before and lived here but that was impossible ''It's brilliant!'' Luna looked around again and dropped her trunks and sat on one of them

Lu forgot to introduce herself to Leo and she felt quite stupid who would forget to say hello to one of her best friend's brother ughh ''Oh sorry I didn't introduce myself properly'' said Luna ''I'm Luna Kieren'' she held out a hand for Leo to shake it because it seemed the best way to introduce yourself to an adult, She saw the new broom it was amazing Luna had a broom at her house but she wasn't going back and she needed a new one she'd buy one when she got to diagon alley she wished she had a brother like Presley's

Luna nodded at Presley ''Oh of course go ahead, Yes we'll defently have to try it out''Luna grinned and looked at the broom

Presley froze as her dad came out of the library, afraid of his judgement. Not that he was ever harsh with her, quite the opposite. The problem was, there was never any judgement at all, positive or negative. It was almost as if she didn't exist. She heard Luna introduce herself and pulled herself together. "I'm so sorry! That was my fault. Leo, dad, this is my friend Luna. Luna, this is my older brother, Leo, and my daddy." Daddy? Did I really just say that? How immature could I sound? She listened carefully to her dad's assesment, trying to hear happiness to see his daughter, or irritation, or anything really. She thought maybe there was the tiniest hint of something, but not enough to identify it. "Thank you," she said politely when he mentioned new clothes. "It's nice to see you again."
She longed to say "I've missed you so much, daddy," and run to him and give him a hug, a real one. For him to spin her around like he used to, kiss her head and say "I've missed you too, Princess," but she knew it wasn't going to happen. It was wasting valuable brain space thinking about it.

Leo was delighted with Presley's happiness at the broom. She was the cutest kid. He saw her muscles tense, and automatically tensed to, turning to see his father, out of the library. Leo gave him an encouraging smile. He knew these last few years had been rough on his father, but he also knew how much it was hurting Presley, and he didn't want her to hurt. She was too young to feel such pain. When Leo was her age, his days were filled with love and laughter, and rebellion against stupid things. He wished now, that he had spent more time worrying about what was really important, but he hadn't, and it was too late to change now. He smiled as he was introduced to Presley's friend. "It's nice to meet you, Luna. You're sure your parents are okay with this?" He had been a little nervous, picking her up at the station and taking her to the mansion without talking to her parents, but he trusted Presley, who said this was okay. "Presley, have you forgotten all of your manners? Show your friends to thier rooms so they can put away some of those trunks!"

"Oops, sorry!" Presley said brightly. "They're staying in my room. Follow me upstairs, no, leave your bags, the elves will get them. I'll show you around the place." Presley grabbed Luna's hand and pulled her toward the gigantic spiral staircase, up three flights of stairs, to her room. "This, is my room," Presley spread her arms wide in a look-at-this-splendor gesture. Her room was painted a deep purple beneath the chair-rail, and white above it. The whole room was decorated in purple and teal, teal being her mother's favorite color when it was first decorated, and purple being Presley's. She'd fallen in love with the color combination, and had kept it through many redecoratings. Her king sized bed was pushed up against one wall, out of the center where it normally stood, to make room for two queen sized ones. But her favorite part of the room, was a deep window seat, with soft cushions and pillows everywhere. In the next window was a balcony overlooking the outdoor pool. "Pick any bed you'd like," Presley invited. She meant it too, if one of them wanted her bed, they'd be welcome to it. She'd gotten very used to a twin size while at Hogwarts this past year.

Zebhdiyah watched Presley as she happily led her friend up to her room. She was a sweet child. Very like her mother. He sighed, turned around and went back to the library, with a short wave toward Leo. "Thanks for picking them up."

When Leo asked that Luna put her head down and she sure no one could see tears down her face she looked away and wiped her eyes Ughhh what am I going to say... No they've died sadly and my idiot of a brother is going away to get married and I was left homless so I think it's okay That's more or less my whole year at HogwartsLuna hesitated before answering''Yes i'm aloud to be here'' It wasn't a lie because she was aloud go to Presley's house! Few!!!,

Lu pulled up her two trunks and her owl cage up the long spiral stairs ''WOW!'' it was beautifull ''My room would be half the size as this'' Luna laughed she always thought her room was really cool untill she came here ''I don't mind which ever you prefer or sleep in'' said Luna kindly she could sleep anywhere she opened up one of her trunks and pulled out a poster with pictures of her first year at Hogwarts most of the pictures were of her Rachel and Presley and then some of Melina, Gwen, Rose, Charlie, Olivia and Tori they were all her good friends

Presley pointed to the king-sized bed. "Well, I normally sleep there, but after hogwarts beds, it looks way too huge for me. She watched Luna unpacking pictures from her trunks. "You know, you didn't have to drag your trunks all the way up here. You must be---" Presley started to say you must be dying but thought better of it last-second. "I mean, your arms must be aching." She scooted over to look at the pictures, and laughed at a couple of them. Not that all of them were funny, but they inspired memories, and Presley laughed in delight at remembering. Suddenly she remembered her trunks. "Candy!" she called, with the house-elf instantly appearing. "Can you go get my trunks, and Luna's please, and put my stuff away?" The elf nodded and was gone in a blink. Presley turned to Luna, "You wanna go swimming?" Presley did. After a whole year with only the lake and the tub, Presley was aching for a chlorinated swim in a cool pool. Jumping from a diving board, splashing people, and then laying out in the sun to dry off...That sounded amazing. Unless of course, Luna didn't want to, and then they would do something else. Like a tour, or shopping, or diagon alley, or--Presley realized that it was almost dinner time. "I mean, after dinner? We can go to my favorite place today! Or we could go swimming first, and get take-out or something. You choose."

Rachel was completly speechless, as she followed Pres and Luna up the stairs, she had never been in a magical house before so this was, well like magic!

Presley noticed the look on Rachels face, and laughed. "You okay, Rachel?" She checked. The girl looked....well, it was hard to put aa word to that expression. Amazed? Maybe. "You guys can put your stuff anywhere, or if you want, I can get Candy to hang all of your clothes in my closet." Then she remembered her earlier question. "So, swimming and take-out, or dinner at my favorite place? Or something else entirely?"

Rachel blinked, as if coming out of a trance, "Oh, oh yeah, I think so!" she said amazed.

"Oh it's ok, I'll put away my things," she said, maybe the elf was busy, and didn't need anything else to add to the list, also because it was like a ritual that where ever she went , she had to put away her own things, "I honestly don't know Pres!" she told her friend.

"You don't have to. I mean, we have people and stuff that can do that. Unless you want to of course. You're totally welcome to put away your own stuff. You want help?" Presley was baffled by the fact that neither of her friends seemed to have the desire to use the ample help available to them. But she supposed if you'd grown up as a do-it-yourselfer, it might be wierd to have someone else do it. "Well, I'm voting for swimming now," Presley threw in her 2 knuts. "Because I am DYING to go swimming! I haven't been all year! But, you guys are the guests, and if you want to do something else, we can do that instead."

''All right then'' Luna walked over to the bed and flopped down ''Oh no I don't mind i'm used to lifting trunks boxes stuff like that'' Luna replied

''I'd love to when ever I don't mind'' Presley's house was so beautifull it already felt like home

After establishing that neither of the girls had any real preference to what they should do, Presley decided to take her first option, and show them the awesome outdoor pool, and go swimming. "Let's go swimming then," she said decisively. She stepped into her closet and walked to the back, running her hands over clothes as she walked, trying to remember where her swim stuff was. She'd reorganized her closet the week before Hogwarts, and now had no idea where anything was. Finally she found them, and pulled out her favorite one. A cute purple one with zebra stipes. Pulling it on, she noticed that the top was a little small. Time to go shopping, for sure. "And decide on something for dinner so Leo or dad, or we can go pick it up. Anything in particular you want to eat?"

Great! swimming Luna didn't know if it was rude to pick or not she didn't really care either sounded brilliant ''Which ever!'' Luna replied

Oh Rachel right! Luna thought ''Hey Rache what happened to you on the train?'' Lu asked

Leo flopped onto the comfiest chair in the library. Wondering why his entire day of work in the transportation department had been planting trees all over diagon alley. It was completely ridiculous! He was supposed to work with brooms! As a features developer! Not a common gardener! He leaned his head back agianst the chair, suddenly exhausted. It had been a looooong day, and the carnival was tonight. Perfect.

Zebhidiyah sat in his chair, flipping through a photo album. Well, several photo albums. This one in particular had been the summer before his beloved wife had died. There were pictures of him and the kids, her and the kids, just the kids....but the common trend in the pictures, was that every person was smiling. Well, besides the one where Leo was scowling and Presley looked exhausted. They had been running around all day, and had then gone out to dinner, and had then gone to the lighthouse. Leo had remained adamant that it was a stupid idea, and he just wanted to go home and hang out with his friends. Presley had been excited at first, but had been woken up several times after falling asleep. But Jamey was smiling. And Zeb was smiling. Presley leaned on his arm, and Jamey rubbed the child's back. Leo stood next to Jamey, obligatorily holding her hand. He hadn't wanted to then.

Zebhdiyah realized that he missed that. He'd always known he'd missed Jamey, but he hadn't realized how much he missed the smiling faces of his children. Not that they didn't smile, but they didn't smile at him. Not really. They'd send him encouraging smiles, and pretend to smile when he greeted them. He could tell they were struggling too. He just didn't know what to do about it. He didn't know what to say to them. He had never really been the person in charge. Jamey took charge of everything, and he played with the kids. He made them laugh, he never took care of them. Now that Jamey had been gone five years, he still didn't know how to. He was fully aware that Leo was raising Presley, but he didn't know what to do about it.

He sighed and closed the album, climbed the stairs to Presley's room, and knocked on her door. "Presley? Are you in there?" Chances were good she wasn't. But at least he was making an effort.

Presley answered her door, surprised to hear her dad's voice. "Hey dad," she smiled brightly. "What's up?"

She was there. She answered the door. "Just wanted to make sure you got all of your stuff today." He chickened out. Of course he couln't do it. He'd wanted to be fatherly, and what he'd said kind of fell under the category, but not really. He stood there, feeling rather awkward. Why would he climb the stairs to ask a question that could easily have been asked at dinner? No, she knew this was unusual and stupid. Zebhdiyah almost crossed his fingers, but resisted the childish habit. He was the one that had taught that to Presley when she was younger than two. She would know something was weird then if she didn't now. So Zeb just smiled at her, and waited for her response.

Rachel looked at Luna startled, she didn't know how to say, "Urmm, well... I sort of got lost on the train, and couldn't find you, sorry, I searched everywhere but you were nowhere to be seen." it was totally true.

Luna hated to see Rachel get startled ''It's alright I was worried about you though'' said Luna truthfully

Luna sat on her bed and put away the stuff that weren't near her trunks that she held herself for the trip a locket from her mum and dad for her birthday and the little brown box that she took everywhere except if she was at Hogwarts she thought it would be safe she opened the box and took out the photo's she wanted to show them to Rachel because she already showed Presley she tapped on her bed so that she would come over

Presley nodded at her father. "Yeah, yeah I did. Thanks for asking." Truthfully, she was surprised. Her dad was the type to ask that question on the platform, not a couple of weeks in advance.

She returned her divided attention back to her friends, her mind still half on her dad in the doorway. She felt awkward, but it was kind of him. Rachel was saying she couldn't find them on the train. "We left a note for you," Presley shrugged. But she understood that it could easily have been missed. She herself had missed half the train ride because she was sleeping. Presley always fell asleep on car rides, or trains. Pres saw Luna pull out the photo's she'd seen earlier, and scooted over to look again. Some of them were just danged cute!

Luna looked threw them all a hundred times but like she cared ''I think i'll feel Hogwarts is diffrent when we go in September cause we're going in a new year we'll have diffrent teachers but we'll know our way around the school!'' deciding she had to say somthing nice she loved Hogwarts but she didn't like change this year she changed when she was younger she only ever wanted to be perfect this year it was more about making friends now that she had a few she didn't have to worry about it to much and focus on her classes and homework and getting some points for Ravenclaw

Not meaning that she didn't want any friends she'd spend just as much time with them but she was worried that she wouldn't make friends but she changed her reputation and she didn't like it then she looked at the other photos the one with the three of them

Presley laughed, pulling out a photo. "That was a good day," she commented. She and Rachel and Luna were pulling faces at the camera. She was so excited to be going back! Hogwarts was the best ever.

''Yes it was!'' Luna agreed looking at the pictures and she smiled she was tired she wondered what time it was she was so used to going to bed at eight or nine o'clock
