The stone of Elderon was a stone in the early days of man, created by a witch who wished to control everyone in the world. The stone was made so anyone who was in possession of it could completely control others, make them do as the owner pleased and the person would be helpless to the stone. Over time, the stone appeared in and out of ancient texts, having been used for great evil and for great good, however over that period of time, it got weaker, it's draw grew less and it's hold over others weakened. Eventually, a few thousand years ago the stone became a myth no one knew of it's whereabouts. The stone of Elderon had vanished from thought and mind.
It's 2012 and the great and evil wizard Stefan has found a way to make the stone of Elderon great again. He has worked and found a spell that when used upon the stone, will make it regain it's former powers of control over anyone. The only problem is, he has no idea where the stone is. At the same time, Katie Herron has just inherited a golden ring with a deep red stone from her dead grandmother. What she, nor anyone else knows, is that is the long lost stone of Elderon is in that ring.
With Sefan's great powers, he's been able to trace the stone to Hogwarts School, however because the stone has become so weak, he cannot trace it further than that. The only thing that restrains him from entering Hogwarts and using his evil powers to create terror to find the stone of Elderon, is that he is terrified of making the stone's whereabouts known to other witches or wizards, who might have the same ideas as him. Also the protection at Hogwarts is immense. So instead, he recruits two spys, who're already students at Hogwarts, to look for the ring, and to find the person who owns it and take it from them - but not make it known that they're desperate for it, otherwise the person may think of it as valuable and Stefan wants nothing more than to be in possession of the stone.
Okay! So, the story line basically is - Katie obviously is the one with the stone of Elderon, in a ring which was inherited by her Grandmother. She doesn't know anything about it because the force from the stone is so weak. Despite this though, the ring can plant ideas in people's heads, and even though it can't put a strong hold on them, the ideas can grow and become genuine thoughts or feelings (kind of like Inception if any of you have seen that??). The two spys are friends in Slytherin house who have been promised great things from Stefan and are searching for anyone with a stone on them, which is hard considering there are many many students at Hogwarts. Stefan himself disguises himself as a DADA teacher, and is there so his 3 spies can report back to him. Katie has many friends from all houses, so to be a friend of hers you needn't be in the same house. She's in 6th year. Not all characters need to be friends with Katie, she can have some enemies too.

Ash was born into a very hierarchy family who were very quiet about their past but very sure about their future and their opinions. They pushed it into Ash that pureblood were the only way for wizards to move forwards and become great and all powerful again, and Ash believed it. He grew up in a large house with someone catering to his every wish until he was 9 years old, when his parents suddenly went missing without explanation. Because of their hidden past about family, Ash was put out on the streets to fend for himself, he moved from place to place, never settling. When he got his Hogwarts letter at the age of 11, he was staying at an inn, and wondered how on earth they'd known he was there. When he read it, he did so in disbelief, he'd never heard of Hogwarts, his parents didn't like to know or tell much about the outside world. Before going to Hogwarts, he got his wand and had laughed when given Ash wood. That was one of the first times he'd laughed since his parents had gone, and one of the last. He hated Hogwarts because everyone was so happy. He hated seeing people happy.
Personality
Because of his inability to accept people's happiness and joy, Ash enjoys bringing sorrow and pain amongst people. His best subject is DADA and his wand is always by his side. He's snide and rolls his eyes a lot, gives people the once over and doesn't like small talk. he scowls and sniffs as if he's sniffing someone out, and stares to make people uncomfortable. When people mention their families, he gets extremely angry very fast, and things can get out of hand. When Stefan approached him, he promised Ash information regarding his parents, and Ash would do anything to find out what happened to them, and avenge them if needed, so he was determined to find this stone, beyond any means necessary. He likes to think of himself as a leader and as Stefan approached him first, he feels he should be the one to find and bring him the stone.
Relationship to Katie: Knows of her existance, they're in some of the same classes. Neither hates or likes her.

Ethel, or just plain 'Eth' was the only of her parents' five children that was born without a twin. She has older twin brothers, Damien and Daniel who are twenty one, and twin sisters, Polly and Perrie, who are nineteen. Daniel was the first of her silbings to get in with the wrong sort, and began to do jobs and run errands for a famous wizard criminal, notorious for serial murder. Obviously no-one breathed a word, or Dan would automatically be guilty by association. Damien followed soon enough, and before long, the two sixteen year olds left school and began to work full time, for more pay. Perrie followed her brothers, and was sucked in too, and also fourteen year old Poppy trailed afterwards. The wizard they were working for, Walter Lam soon began to take advantage of the youths, and started giving them tasks too difficult, but it was too late to back out now. Ethel managed to keep out of it, while her siblings put their lives, and even Eth's, in danger. When the boys were nineteen, and the girls were seventeen, and Ethel was almost fifteen, Dan, Damo, Pers and Pop decided to run away from Walter Lam, and steal some of his money to bribe the guards to let them out, which they did. But Lam found them soon enough, and took them back, and held them in his manor. He wrote to Ethel's parents, informing them of what they did, and stated that if he wasn't compensated with either a new spy, or 300 galleons, they four would be killed. Of course, Ethel found the letter and left a note to her parents vaguely explaining where she was going, before joining Lam. After proving herself and earning his trust, she was sold to Stefan at sixteen.
Relationship with Katie: She's tries to act natural towards her as she does all the other students, though is inside as suspicious of her as everyone else. She doesn't have a reason to dislike Katie, or anyone else, but she owes a lot to Stefan, and sees this as the only form of compensation. If she had a choice, she wouldn't be involved.

He is quite innocent looking, and by appearance easy enough to take advantage of, but he did boxing from the age of seven to fourteen, and can knock out a grown man with his left punch.

History
Bella, born Isabella Rae McArver was born on a warm sunny day in Scotland in her home, though she was meant to be a twin there were complications with the birth and only she survived. It was that or her mother died so her father picked her mother over her twins life. So to be honest she's a little bit annoyed with her father 24-7. Though she does have an older sister, Kat, who is 21, she just wanted someone her own age. She was however thoroughly spoilt because of her near death experiance and grew up really spoilt, pampered like a pooch she never had to squeal because even a slight wibble of her bottom lip and she got what she wanted. When she was 9 they moved away from their Edinburgh home and into London, to Fulham, to a developed church. Where she lived the cushy life in her attic room and getting through her schooling easily. She managed to skip over the awkward first year of secondary school in Fulham's Institute of arts, where she discovered her passion for acting and singing. She learned of her love of performing. And also of parties, she became the popular Scottish kid who threw ALL of the parties in the "huge churchy house". When she was 16, she moved to Hogwarts were she continued her reign of the mean popular girl, getting fairly good grades in the process.
Relationship with Katie: Seriously hated her and made her life a misery all throughout the years since she stole her boyfriend once. She didn't care that it was an 'accident'. Now, she's sort of gotten over it and basically ignores her existence

Opal is seemingly very innocent and kind, almost the perfect Hufflepuff. Why, then, is she a Ravenclaw? Because she is insanely intelligent, so much it's not even funny. Opal studies every single spare minute she has every second day. On the days in between, she is nice and kind, and helps first-years find their way around the school. But on a Study Day, if you bother her she will either not respond, or not respond.
She has a photographic memory, and she reads ahead in every subject and memorises the whole book. So why the need to study, you may ask? Because she wants to be Historian, and so Opal reads every History book available to her. Twice.
Opal is very good friends with Katie Herron on her off days, but on Study Days everybody is a stranger to her. Katie has learned to accept this, and so have her other friends.

History
Opal is seemingly very innocent and kind, almost the perfect Hufflepuff. Why, then, is she a Ravenclaw? Because she is insanely intelligent, so much it's not even funny. Opal studies every single spare minute she has every second day. On the days in between, she is nice and kind, and helps first-years find their way around the school. But on a Study Day, if you bother her she will either not respond, or not respond.
She has a photographic memory, and she reads ahead in every subject and memorises the whole book. So why the need to study, you may ask? Because she wants to be Historian, and so Opal reads every History book available to her. Twice.
Opal is very good friends with Katie Herron on her off days, but on Study Days everybody is a stranger to her. Katie has learned to accept this, and so have her other friends.

Past
Ash was born into a very hierarchy family who were very quiet about their past but very sure about their future and their opinions. They pushed it into Ash that pureblood were the only way for wizards to move forwards and become great and all powerful again, and Ash believed it. He grew up in a large house with someone catering to his every wish until he was 9 years old, when his parents suddenly went missing without explanation. Because of their hidden past about family, Ash was put out on the streets to fend for himself, he moved from place to place, never settling. When he got his Hogwarts letter at the age of 11, he was staying at an inn, and wondered how on earth they'd known he was there. When he read it, he did so in disbelief, he'd never heard of Hogwarts, his parents didn't like to know or tell much about the outside world. Before going to Hogwarts, he got his wand and had laughed when given Ash wood. That was one of the first times he'd laughed since his parents had gone, and one of the last. He hated Hogwarts because everyone was so happy. He hated seeing people happy.
Personality
Because of his inability to accept people's happiness and joy, Ash enjoys bringing sorrow and pain amongst people. His best subject is DADA and his wand is always by his side. He's snide and rolls his eyes a lot, gives people the once over and doesn't like small talk. he scowls and sniffs as if he's sniffing someone out, and stares to make people uncomfortable. When people mention their families, he gets extremely angry very fast, and things can get out of hand. When Stefan approached him, he promised Ash information regarding his parents, and Ash would do anything to find out what happened to them, and avenge them if needed, so he was determined to find this stone, beyond any means necessary. He likes to think of himself as a leader and as Stefan approached him first, he feels he should be the one to find and bring him the stone.
Relationship to Katie: Knows of her existance, they're in some of the same classes. Neither hates or likes her.
Oooh and all we need now are bios and a Stefan (granted, he's only a small character) and then we can start!

Helena Bennett moved from London to the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia with her parents and younger sister when she was seven years old. When she was sixteen she met a very strange boy who lived next door to her but was away for most of the year. This was Jonathan Aquarius, a wizard who attended Brisbane Boarding School for the Magically Gifted. They were drawn to each other, and dated over the summer. The next summer, they picked up right where they left off, and continued like this until Jonathan graduated. They married a year later, and Jazzy was born two years after that. Lotus, Estelle, Leilani and Astrid were also born on the Gold Coast. The Aquariuses stayed on the Gold Coast until Jazzy was 14 years old, when Jonathan's job forced him to move to London. Jazzy transferred to Hogwarts, and Lotus started her magical education there. Sora was born in London, and Jazzy feels kind of bad for him, because he never got to see their home in Australia.
Helena and Jonathan are described by some people as 'hippies' and by other as 'people who enjoy life'. Jazzy agrees with the second option. Her parents are energetic and creative, always eager to show their children how to get the most out of life. Jazzy has definitely inherited that.
