Disclaimer: As we all (hopefully) know, Joanne Kathleen Rowling wrote the fantastic Harry Potter books.
It is Christmas vacation for Hogwarts, and everybody is content and having fun with their families. All except for one. Esmeralda Pearson has no family to go to, and spends holidays in her dormitory, playing sad violin songs. Nobody has ever seen her violin, and people joke that it is made out of silver, because Esmeralda acts as if it is as precious as pure silver.
One night the staff forgets about Esmeralda, because she is so quiet. They all go out to The Hog's Head on Christmas Eve for a staff party. Esmeralda has absolutely no idea she is alone, so she finds it normal when there are scuffling noises and shadows. She has just finished her last violin peice, when everything goes dark. The staff don't notice anything unusual, because Esmerelda is so silent and private. The girls in her dorm come back from holidays, and they certainly notice something. After reporting this to the proffesors, the girls take on the responsibility of finding Esmerelda.
Will more people dissapear? Will Esmerelda's ghost haunt the halls of Hogwarts, playing her violin? Will the children discover the criminal? You decide...

History
Esmerelda's parents both died on a train ride to meet her, because she was staying at her grandparent's house. When they got news of the fatal accident, Esmerelda was only four. She was in mourning for a year, crying unexpectedly and never attending parties. After about one year, the intensity of this died down, but she was still very sad. She managed to have fun and go to school normaly most of the time. When Esmerelda was eleven, she got a letter saying she had been accepted into a school of magic! Her grandparents didn't understand, and went to find some photo albums from Esmerelda's mother, since they were the grandparents on her father's side. In most of the family photos there were people wearing vibrantly coloured robes, every one of them holding a wand, and two of them with owls perched on their arms! So it was that way they all found out Esmerelda's mother (Olivia) was a witch.
Esmerelda happily attended Hogwarts for three years, learning a lot and writing to her grandparents every month. One day her grandmother sent a letter telling Esmerelda that her grandfather had died. Esmerelda immediately came home and comforted her grandmother, while also feeling miserable herself. Esmerelda went back to Hogwarts and mourned her grandfather for a week, as was permitted by Hogwarts. Then she carried out her old routine, if not a little sadly, but the feeling passed within two months. She finished her fourth year just as bubbly as ever. When she returned home, her grandmother was terribly ill. Every doctor in town was there, but it was sure to all of them that this woman would die. And so her grandmother did, peacefully, with Esmerelda at her side. Esmerelda wept for half of the summer, thinking about the face of death. Esmerelda never saw her parents die, nor her grandfather, so this was a shock. For the other half of the summer, Esmerelda concentrated on picking herself up and putting on a brave face. By the time she returned to Hogwarts for her fifth year, she was not exactly the bubbly person she had once been, but she managed to live. The next summer that came she was allowed to stay in Hogwarts, so she taught herself violin. This summer... she is missing.

Sandra is very optimistic, and dresses that way, too. With her bright orange leggings to her feathery owl earrings, Sandra's fashion makes a splash of colour in any crowd. She has always been very easygoing, but she does have a very good memory. So don't try and pretend that you were best friends when you were five, because she will remember.
When Sandra started school, she mostly wanted to fit in and go with the flow. But she found out quickly that sometimes that doesn't work. So she broke free of the crowd and became a pronounced indvidual. She now has a lot more real friends who like her for who she really is. But don't doubt that she can be serious. She can stop joking and having fun in a heartbeat if something has happened. Sandra tried to be friends with Esmerelda, but the girl seemed to want to be left alone. Now that Esmerelda is missing, Sandra will do whatever it takes to help.

Alexandria was always considered a curse to her family. Her parents had five healthy strong sons, (or at least, as healthy as slum children can be) ages ranging from ten months to seven years old. Alexandria was a mistake. They didn't want her, but obviously they couldn't afford to abort her, and her mother dried several potions that were rumoured to destroy unborn babies, but they all failed. This reason was that Alexandria was a skilled witch, even before she was born, and thus survived treacherous maladies. After she was born, her mother left her alone in a slum, and abondoned her, only to find her returned in a blanket mysteriously the next morning, still alive. Olia could not bring herself to kill the child directly, so kept her, but only fed her if there were leftovers from her sons.
Shortly after she was born, her oldest brother Ilya died of hypothermia. Her parents were distraught, but not too upset as this was a very common thing in the slums, so he secretly buried in a dead orchard, and Andrei became top priority for the family. He died six weeks later of food poisoning after eating a rat. The same routine was performed, now Leon was heir to what little they had. He died a month after Andrei after bleeding to death when savaged by a wild dog. So now little Spirya was to be his successor, only to meet the similar death of dying of hunger shortly afterwards. Now Mikhail, who was nearly two years old became the beneficiary. Alexandria was not yet a year old, but loathed by her parents. They believed she was the cause of her brothers deaths, and possessed some wicked feature.
Ten years later, Alexandria was almost eleven. Her twelve year old Mikhail was a weak and sour boy who complained and fell ill to simple viruses. Alexandria was never sick. Up until then, Alexandria had dark hair, unlike her family of blondes, but it had begun to grey. Her parents prayed this was some sort of disease that would kill the girl, but instead it turned her hair lilac. She couldn't have dyed it, so how did it happen?
That Summer, and owl sweeped through St Petersburg and landed on Alexandria's lap. She had been accepted in to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Upon finding out she was a witch her mother, (her father was dead by this time) beseeched the little girl and banished her from speaking to her ever again. She cursed her, and sent her away with an empty stomach and only a thin wool dress to wear- and no shoes. She walked for miles until she came to the outskirts of the city, and on the frozen grass, collapsed with fatigue and hunger.
She awoke a week later in a warm bed, and there were people speaking to her in a strange language. She was in St Mungo's being treated for startvation, abdandonment, and the shutting down of her entire body. She had been found by the Minister of Magic's foreign advisor, and apparated to England. She was given a room at the Leaky Cauldron, which she paid for with working for an hour a day for Old Tom.
She can speak fluent English now, but with an obvious Russian accent. Her hair stayed lilac, but was groomed to a good condition, no longer the straggly blanket it had been up until then. She attended Hogwarts, and was discovered to have powerful skills, and has been accepted in to every wizarding college in the world. She has decided to attend The Auror Acadamy of Russia (the AAR) in Moscow.
She wears a black ribbon to symbolise her bereavement for her brother's deaths and mother's hate.

Jason was homeschooled, until he was old enough to attend Hogwarts. He found it easy to make friends, and soon became popular. The young boy wasn’t exceptionally good at everything, though. Nobody would’ve guessed he’d one day become a professor. Jason learnt later on to be sensible, and was made a prefect, joined the quidditch team (as beater) and later on, was head boy. It took a lot of convincing to get him on the train when his seventh year came to an end. The guy thought of Hogwarts as him home, and did NOT want to leave.
He joined the wizarding university in Wales, still missing Hogwarts, and not making as many friends so quickly. When his scores were high enough to be a teacher in Defence Against the Dark Arts, he grabbed the opportunity.
Jason Brown was delighted to see his old school again, and was a popular teacher, and taught for many years, before Professor Wright died, and he was anointed headmaster of the school.

Darcy is a Pureblood French witch. Her mother is a proper Fernch women with all the right manners, while her father is Britians greatest slob. The two meet at a small park and they instantly hit it off. After dating on and off for three years they finally got married and had Darcy.
Darcy always had a rebellious streak. She never truely liked her parents or her family and always acted up. She first started going to Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, but after her second year she was kicked out. After that she went to Hogwarts were she was sorted into Gryffindor, surprisingly.
Darcy meet her "true love" in her seventh year. They had been friends since Darcy's third year but only until her seventh did she realize her feelings. But by then it was too late, he already had a girlfriend so Darcy was forced to watch from the sidelines. The girl was a year younger which had its advantages. When Darcy and the boy graduated, they went to the same University. There Darcy began to wiggle her way into the boys life even more. Eventually the boy broke it off with the girl at Hogwarts and became focused purely on Darcy. At age 20 Darcy found out she was going to have a daughter. She told the boy and instead of staying like he said he would he fled and never looked back.
Darcy had her daughter, Alice shortly after the boy's fleeing. While Darcy is away teaching she leaves her daughter in the hands of her sister, Gia.

Darcy has always had a rebellious streak. As she never did get along with her parents it was easier to prove her point by being bad. Though that still never seemed to catch her parents eyes.
Darcy is that one teacher that gets along with every student, and favors the pranksters. Her classes are never boring and she rarely, if ever, gives homework. Though she is somewhat short tempered she tries to keep that in check during classes.

For Teddy, life was never exactly easy. His ma and da never really knew eachother, and his da left his ma, after he realised she was pregnant. When Landon was only a couple of hours old, his da came and took him from the small hospital, and brought him to England. He was unnamed, so his father chose Edward, because he thought it sounded very British, and his father was an aristocrat, and owned many great estates in East England and North Western Scotland. His father soon found Landon was too great a secret to keep from his wife and (legitimate) son Wilson, so he brought him back to West Cork where Áine was almost dead of starvation. Unsympathetic, Sir William Walker never saw his son again.
Áine wanted to change his name, but he already knew it, and it seemed unfair to confuse the boy. So, Áine left Edward as his name, but always called him "Teddy", after her father. Teddy never knew any of this until he was sixteen, and received a letter from his half brother, informing him that he knew everything, and wanted to meet 'Edward'.
Teddy replied that he did not have any interest in his biological father, or family, and that he would appreciate if he never wrote back. Wilson never did.
As he grew older, Teddy became a little insecure, but very strong minded and passionate about things he believes in.
He always kept his mother's maiden name, even though he was raised as Walker, he decided himself, he preferred to be O' Donovan, and speaks with an thorough Irish accent.
Teddy diverted to teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts, and soon became the Ravenclaw Head of House.
