My name is Ruth, Ruth Ravenclaw. You can call me Rue if you want. I like writing and singing. I am fourteen years old. I went to school at Hogwarts for three years. And I am a Daughter of the Founders.
There are four of us: Gale Gryffindor, Harlow Hufflepuff, Seth Slytherin and me.
The four of us make up the Children of the Founders.
It is a well known 'secret society' run by our ancestors, who now remain as ghosts.
We are not royalty, but alike royalty our lives were planned, well thought out and identical each generation.
We were all born at midnight on New Year's Ever together. Up until now each Child of the Founder had to marry a witch or wizard of nobility and respect.
However, this year we are to marry one another, Harlow Hufflepuff with Gale Gryffindor, and I with Seth Slytherin.
This is to happen on our fifteenth birthday.
We have never met each other, it is strictly forbidden until our collective matrimony, where Harlow and I shall be masked by veil and Gale and Seth shall be masked by masque.
I am sure I will be happy with Seth, and Gale with Harlow... The four of us shall live together in Thornshield House.
This is the way our lives are to be, it does not matter how we feel.
But I have never been one to hide my feelings.

Things are not as they were once, the wizarding world is now ruled by Interfectores, ruthless people who kill anyone who breaches any of their rules, but they are secretly working for the Founders.
In two more generations, there shall only be one Child of the Founders, and they shall rule the wizarding world.
Ruth, Harlow and Gale hate this and are determined to hatch a plan to change things.
Seth, however, is pleased only by his own company where he stays in what used to be the Headmaster's Office all day, secretly plotting to kill the other three, so he can be the one true Founder, thus the one ruler of the wizarding world.
They all have their own problems.
Gale is haunted by the death of his older brother Garret, who would have been the Gryffindor Founder but was found dead in his bedroom. He finds himself seeing strange things, and finds it hard to communicate. He is confused by his new life, and is not sure how to act, and therefore acts almost robotic.
Harlow is grieving her love for boy named Oliver Draven, who was arrested by the Interfectors, but nobody knows why. Except Harlow, who knows it was because she loved him. She does not love Gale romantically, but she finds a loyal and trust worthy friend in him.
Seth is angry at the way his life is set, and does not want to be another step towards a Ruler that is two generations away. He want to be the Ruler, and thus is determined to kill the others, leaving their elders with no other option. He hates Ruth, and ignores her completely, shouting at her if she speaks to him. He does not know love.
Ruth hates the way life is for them all, and is determined to change it. She is outspoken for her disposition, but feels hurt all the same by Seth's ignorance and spite towards her. She hides sometimes for days at a time, in secret passages, her only indulgence is the forbidden love she feels for Gale.
Hogwarts is no longer a school, but merely a castle to be inhabited by the four. Magic if forbidden among witches and wizards unless they have a licence. The four are not allowed a licence until they are seventeen. After the two marriages, the four Children of the Founders begin to live their lives, under the strict rules of their elders.
Can they release themselves from the ropes that bind them from normality, or are they destined to outlive their happy ending?
I am afraid these characters are the only available, so if you join it is absoloutely mandatory that you post very regularly. When you request a role, please post a RP sample, so I know you're going to take it seriously. I want this rp to be fairly gothic, so please no, you know, modern girly phrases etc

The fourth generation of the Hufflepuff family, Harlow was lumped with the stupidist name known to man, and not just becuase there was alliteration, just Harlow, I mean, seriously? What her parents were thinking of....Anyway, Harlow was born to Georgiana and William and is the great great grandaughter of Helga Hufflepuff. Don't harp on about it, it's not that special, pretty much everyone has someone well known in their family. Her family, the Hufflepuff's are traditionally the "loyal" sorts, but Harlow's parents, though loyal, prefer to be in the greatest social circles, as did the rest of the Ravenclaws, Gryffindor's and Slytherins.
Harlow was born on a cold winter's night and never shut up from the day she was born, constantly sobbing and crying in her crib, she always wanted to be with people and to be surrounded by friends and family. She knew about her family's...standing, since a young child and was introduced to the different circles from a young age, though she grew up knowing of the rules and what would happen if you broke them. She stayed just on the right side of the line.
Well...sort of.
It was when she was just 14 she met Oliver Draven, a local boy from the small town of Hogsmede. Harlow met him on the one time she got a little bit of freedom, when she rode out to Hogsmede, and her horse ended up startling and rearing up, when she fell to the ground, she was pretty sure no one would find her and she was dead, but instead woke up in the Draven household. To her it was just a shack, but to them it was home. Struggeling to get home, she stayed with them a few days and met their looooveeely son, Oliver, and basically fell head over heels for him, breaking rules to stay out and see him in their secret hiding place, even planning to elope together. But somehow, someone found out. And by someone: the interfector's.
She heard about his death and withdrew herself from the other's, isolated and silent, she began to focus on her music and riding, and still rode out every night, to her old spot, and even to his "grave", where she had made a small memorial to him, because the poor never got a grave, despite the fact that she offered to pay for them and give a "donation" to the interfactors. But it didn't work, and the wedding plans drew on, and yes, she knows she should, but she just can't love Gale.
{So this is what I'm like}
Kind and gentle, thats the best way to describe Harlow, she's passionate and totally absorbed in others, and yet when she falls, she falls hard and fast, and often gets hurt a great deal in the process. The problem with Harlow, is her gently naievity, and her habit of always trying to be nice and be friends with people, so she never puts herself first, and really she should. She allows herself to be dragged along a nasty path by her "friends" and even by Oliver because she just can't say no. It's a real problem. And yet, don't assume her to be meek and mild, though that is what she is most of the time, she will take resentment and it will stew in her for a while, although it may take quite a big event to happen. Becuase she will take things personally and she will retaliate, although unlike her friends, she won't be loud brash and bold.
And yet, that can make her the most deadly out of all of them. Her ability to sit down, and apparantly take it.

Amortentia: does not know yet but he doubts it has anything to do with Harlow Hufflepuff.
Boggart: this insane marriage actually going fully into fruition (he prays that somehow people will see the light and not make kids like himself do this)
Bio: Gale grew up in a relatively normal family for a wizard despite being a decendant of Godric Gryffindor. He was always one to cause a bit mischief wherever he want and he was well liked being a fun loving boy. He became well known for his fun loving nature and was well liked by most people. Gale also always was always a tough cookie, as well, you could not be manipulated and always stood firm that she believed that people should be able to be themselves and make their own choices as they see fit regardless. Thus when He learned at the age of 15 that he would be forced to marry a decendant of one of the founders he was furious. Maybe he had not found love yet but she wanted to choose who he liked and possibly may love some day. Now that most crucial decision in life was being chosen for him all because his brother died. But at the same time his brother meant a lot to him his entire life. His brother taught him so many tricks and when he was younger and when he got older he taught him life lessons he had learned which really helped Gale to become a better man. It was a shock when he suddenly found his brother lying on the floor of his bedroom, dead. He had not been the same since. He always hated the idea of forced marriage and still does and he has no idea how his brother found it in him to be so obediant, he just can't. Yet everyday he thinks about his brother and even see's strange visions of him, he does not know how to move on after that tragic day, his brother was his everything and now he is gone.

Personaliy:
A snob. That's what some people would call her but she's says that she simply takes pride in her last name. If you're not a complete nincompoop she is rather friendly. She is very organised, she doesn't have OCD but it would make more sense if she did. She can't stand something being unorganised, that's probably the main reason she's still a founder. And also the fact that she doesn't mind killings for wrong-doing, thinks it's a little over-board but it works.
She has very strong opinions on certain matters but if they disagree with what has been set then she keeps her mouth shut, though she'll try and find a way to get things the way she thinks they should be, for she is rather persuasive.
History:
Renee was born more on the side of the main generation, she was never really particularly important until she turned 14. Her mother died in an 'accident' and someone had to step up and take her place for her cousin Ruth's mother was too busy with Ruth only just being 3 at the time. So there she was, the youngest Founder at only 14. She had stayed out of that life for the 14 years before so it took a little readjusting to, but soon enough she was aware of the place she held in society and the responsibilities her place bore.
Now being younger than the rest she was never allowed to marry. Nor did she ever particularly want to, she found more joy in things like books and knowledge. Theatre arts were a favourite of her's as well. She was soon known to be extremely obnoxious simply because she thought she was better than every one else her age, but how could she help it when she had such a high social standing? After a while she came to understand that calling people peasants (even behind their backs) wasn't exactly the nicest thing to do.
When she was around 18 she started looking more into the history of her family and the Interfectorer, discovering how everything had been thought out and planned so there would be no uprisings against the authority, she thought it was brilliant. It was so organised, and it seemed that nothing ever went particularly wrong. Of course, she thought the killing for doing something wrong was a little harsh but it worked, did it not? Though that meant that the place was ruled through fear, but that was the easiest way to keep control. She never supported Ruth's generation of Founders to marry each other though, she never disagreed with it for she knew what would come for her if she did but she never supported it. Being unmarried herself she thought that you ought to marry someone you can stand, what if they all hated each other, it would be the most miserable life imaginable. She didn't want to inflict such a fate on such young people.
