Mrs Elsie Hughes is the head housekeeper and she is in charge of all the female servants. More or less, she runs the entire servant branch of Downton Abbey. She isn't very emotional, but she is ethical and never two-sided. She is not very good in interacting with different people. What she wants mostly happens all the time. And she is not the head housekeeper one could go to for advices. Expect her to punish you if caught breaking the rules.

History:
Mrs. Hughes doesn't have a family or a husband. However, in her teenage days, a love between her and Mr. Carson blossomed but died down instantly. She chose her priorities and that left Mr. Carson alone and in vain. What they had is a beautiful love but opportunities come and go, you just gotta grab it while you can.

Ms. Effie is the complete opposite of Mrs. Hughes. She is young and vibrant and carefree and funny. She achieved so much at a very young age earning her a high position in the McGonagall household. She is a faithful servant of Lady Eliza and Lady Katie and she will do everything they ask her to do.

History:
Ms. Effie came from a small family of Koreans. On her fifth birthday, she was exported together with her sister Laura and some of her friend by an illegal recruiter to be brought to England and work in there. At an age of 15, she was accepted as a cook in the McGonagall household and gotten promoted as the years go by. They were the family she's got now and she almost grew up with the two ladies and lords. Although, she had no magic in her, a Muggleborn, the wizard calls, she was still accepted by the Pureblooded family.
