Every year thousands of students complete their educations emerging from one of the three great schools of magic to go out into the world. There are a select few, however, that receive an invitation to the Cyprus Institute of Higher Learning. Its origins are unknown and shrouded in mystery, though one thing is clear, some of the best and brightest minds have emerged from its hallowed halls. Those who have graduated from the Institute somehow land the best jobs, get the highest recognition, and riches beyond belief. Oddly, even their home lives seem blessed. Some have sought answers to the great mystery that is the Institute but next to none have been answered. Its location, curriculum, history, and faculty are some of the best kept secrets in the Wizarding World. So, what is the big secret you may ask? Well, you are about to find out.
Another year of selected students has been accepted to the elusive Cyprus Institute of Higher Learning. While many wonder at just what the Institute is about, none of them come close to the real reason the school exists. For the Cyprus Institute lies on Cyprus Island in Greece and is run by none other than Aphrodite herself. She built the Institute eons ago but not as a school but a matchmaking service. Once on the island each student is completely cut off from the world and enters Aphrodite’s domain. If you think your brave enough, then accept your invitation and be at Pier 5 and get ready to go on an adventure of the heart.
Rules:
1. All characters will be paired up by me, so don’t worry about PMing someone and asking.
2. We need an even number of boys and girls (obviously).
3. Each person can play no more than 2 charries, one boy and one girl.
4. We can have students from all three schools so be creative.
5. Every post has to be longer than three sentences. (Absolutely NO one liners!)
6. Each person must post at least once every 5 days or they will be considered absent and will be dropped from the RP. There are exceptions, for example if you let me know you will be unable to post then that will be fine. If you disappear and don't tell me however, you will be removed. Harsh I know but this is a couples thing and missing people mean others get left out!

About Her~ Personality: She is a fiercely independent and strong individual. When she does manage to make a friend (if you are lucky enough to earn her trust) she will do anything and everything for them. Few have seen her true nature, but she does have a softer side. One must work to see it. She doesn’t much care for what people think and often says what’s on her mind regardless of the situation or the person. She is brazen and callous in everything she does and learned it from the best. (Her parents) Stay on her good side, or make an enemy for life.
History: Sonja comes from a hostile home environment. Neither of her parents has ever given her much notice as they wanted a boy and not a girl. They gave her the essentials: food, clothing, a place to sleep; and left her alone. While other children were getting things for being good, her parents gave her things to make sure she stayed out of their way. Both work in the Ministry and are extremely proud people. They pride themselves on being of Pureblood status.
Four years ago her parents got the little boy they had always wanted, Devin, further pushing Sonja to the background. She quickly learned to fend for herself and not to trust anyone. Her grandmother was the only person who seemed to care about her, so when she started school she moved in with her under the pre-tense that it was closer.
This suited both parties as her parents didn’t have to deal with her and Sonja could be more of herself. She resents her little brother Devin as he takes every opportunity to remind her that her parents don’t love her and never wanted her. This all resulted in the suspicious and often aloof attitude that she uses as her barriers against the world.

About Him~ Personality: Luke is one of the most laid back guys you’ll ever meet. He takes things as they come and doesn’t like to worry about things that are out of his control. His charm and wit keep him in the upper circles of the social scene and he can pretty much smooth talk his way out of anything. While he tends to avoid conflict he doesn’t mind jumping into situations that warrant it. Luke has a wicked sense of humor and loves to make people laugh.
History: Luke comes from a small hard working family. Both of his parents worked at the Ministry of Magic though their work often kept them away from home leaving Luke to fend for himself. He didn’t resent his parents for their absence; instead he took it in stride and found things to do. More often than not this meant reading or practicing magic which made most aspects of school a breeze.
The summer before his final year in school his parents were killed on a routine mission for the Ministry. Lost and confused his Grandparents took him in and pushed him to finish school to honor their memory. With a burning fervor he studied hard and graduated at the top of his class.
Luke had no idea what he was going to do now that he was out of school. He felt lost and adrift until he got his letter from the Cyprus Institute. Now, he feels it’s a sign and won’t be missing that bout come September 1st.

About Him/Her~ Personality: Aidan is a true southern gentleman. He believes that ladies should always be treated with respect and men should conduct themselves with honor and integrity. Aidan isn’t a shy guy but it does come across that way sometimes as he thinks before he speaks. Aidan doesn’t like confrontation and has an extremely long fuse but if riled he can be extremely dangerous.
History: Aidan comes from a small, hardworking family who own a farm in Tennessee. His father is a muggle who works the fields for a living and his mother is a witch who raises and trains Hippogriffs. All through his childhood Aidan learned that hard work and determination were the only things he needed to succeed in the world.
Aidan went to grade school with all the other children until he turned 11. From then on out he went to the North American Magical Magnet. Located in the wilds of Canada it schools those witches and wizards that live within the North American continent. Aiden graduated with honors and was surprised by his acceptance into the Institute.

Background
Rylan was born in Paris, France and lived together with his parents and younger sister in a small house near the Eiffeltower.
Even though Rylan has lived in France all his live he is not fluently french. Both his parents are from Asia and had moved in to France when Rylans father had found a job in this country that paid well.
When Rylan was 11, he had gotten a letter that he had been admitted in Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. His first three years were a disaster.
He had been teased and bullied because of the fact he was fatter than the rest of his student. Rylan couldn't help it but he loved eating. The fact that he also wore glasses and that he was always doing his best at almost every subject only made it worse. His classmates and students from other houses called him "the Fat kid" or "Nerd" behind his back and sometimes even to his face. People just wanted to have someone to pick on.
However, Rylan had not given up on his studies and simply ignored the harsh comments from the others and during his fifth year in the summer, Rylan has started to work out. Alright, no one could get slender over a summer that fast but Rylan wasn't a wizard for nothing. When he got back to start his sixth year the students didn't recoqnize him and thought he was a transfer student. It took them a good two days to notice that the handsome slender student, that had styled his hair and had ditched his big nerd glasses for contact lenses they used in the muggle world ,was in fact the fat kid they had bullied for years.
Personality
Rylan is a sweet guy that loves to learn. He is extremely curious and would get nervous when something new happens. He is clumsly and could been seen tripping over his own feet or dropping things. Rylan is someone who smiles easily but its many times a mask to hide his true emotions, his smiles never reached his eyes for they still contain humiliation from his youth and he gets scared when someone yells or makes fun of him.

Her parents are both of Asian ethnicity, however, Alice has never really understood it. As a matter of fact, after living in England for so long, she has adopted a bit of an accent - an English one that is. However, Alice's parents made sure that she remembered her own culture by making sure Alice took lessons in the languages that they spoke. Though Alice wasn't very fond of it, she lived with it. She did enjoy learning it on occasion. Alice, being an only child, often got quite lonely and her parents awlays tried to spoil her - if only it would work.
Alice refuses to take to much, she always just takes the right amount. She's a generous person and loves to share, she's never greedy and looks down on it. She is a studious person and often found with a nose in her book but when she's not with her precious books or her adorable times ten kitten she's locked herself in her room singing and dancing - she doesn't like people seeing her when she does this. Alice was shot down when she was younger in a talent competition for singing and since then she has been quiet insecure about it not allowing people to hear her. Her parents know of it, but every time they bring it up she throws a tantrum.

Eric is one of those guys who take things as it is, a go with the flow kind of person. He isn't much of a rebel and he doesn't really mind. He is also known throughout Durmstrang for being a notorious flirt with the girls. He loves them and it's in his nature. His sister calls him a pig, his father is proud of him, his mother just hopes that he'll find a nice girl soon. He doesn't really mind. Live and let live like he always said - even if he didn't know what it really meant. He just thought it sounded cool.
Sometimes he may seem a bit like a dork or a jerk, but really, underneath that smug "holier than thou" behaviour he has, he's a complete romantic. He won't hesitate to buy a girl flowers or chocolates and will do whatever to help his girlfriend (at the moment). About Her~
Personality: Noah has been raised in a very strong willed family. Her father holds a very high status within the Bulgarian Ministry and her mother is a well respected Auror. She has been raised with the power that her family possesses. This makes her an extremely strong willed girl. Very rarely does anything that she has to say ever get held back. She acts more on impulse than anything. Noah can be a bit of a rebel, well that might actually be an understatement. She is extremely loyal and will do anything, and I mean anything, for those close to her.
History: The St. James family is not a very well knit family. While her father is always at home he is constintly working. Her mother however is always gone. She is always on some sort of mission being an auror. Because of this Noah is not very close to either of her parents. She acts just as you would expect their daughter to but she is by no means close to them.
Things were actually a lot better once she got accepted to Hogwarts. This meant that her parents could go on with their careers and only be required to write to their daughter. Don't get me wrong they love her very much but they are always so busy. They are much more concerned with providing for her than actually taking care of her.
Because of this Noah isn't exactly a girl that needs taken care of. She can fend for herself. She is extremely loyal and brave and because of this she was easily placed into Gryffindor. There she made great friends, friends that she would give her life for. She also made a name for herself, a name that some people actually feared. Like I said she is one tough cookie and you definitely do not want to get on her bad side.
Noah was never picked as a prefect or anything, no that job was definitely not for her. She did join the quidditch team her second year as the keeper. By her fourth she was captain. I'm telling you she's good. Growing up she had always heard the rumors of Cyprus but she had never expected to go there herself. Sure it made sense seeing the family that she came from, her quidditch abilities, and just her overall but still it was completely unexpected.

Aleks is not the type of person that people easily get along with. He is kind of a loner. He stays to the background but this is not to say that he goes unnoticed. No, people notice him for sure. He has one of those dark and mysterious ways about him that draw others towards him. He does not like this though, he would much rather be left alone. Aleks isn't exactly a good guy either. He's not the type that will go up to you and become your best friend. He's more of the type that one wrong look makes you want to cower and hide. When he does speak though it is normally either very short or smart Alec. He is one of those people that puts up a huge wall that is rarely, if ever even, broke down.
History: Aleksander was born into a very loving Russian home. Family meant everything to the Belikova family. Aleks loved his family very much, especially his younger sisters. All he ever did was protect them growing up. He was the happy go lucky kid that everyone in the neighborhood loved. It was clear from a very young age that Aleks was extremely smart. He was also great on a broom.
Then one day everything changed. The family was torn apart. There was a huge accident where both Nicholi, Viktoria, and Vasilisa were killed. THe only ones who truly know what happened are Aleks and his sister Konstantinova. Neither of them have ever told anyone what exactly happened.
Ever since that day Aleks has never been the same. He put up walls so that he couldn't love and no one could love him. He has shut off from the rest of the world. The only one who he is even somewhat the way that he used to be with is his little sister. But even their relationship isn't anything like it used to be.
Once Aleks started school he excelled quickly. He didn't really make any friends. There were some people that he hung out with sometimes but he never had a best friend. He wouldn't let himself. He did great with his grades though. He also was a star quidditch player. The only thing he was missing was anything social. Like I said before people are draw to him, only to be pushed out.

Amelia is considered one of the Beautiful girls of the year, to be honest most of the girls in her group of friends are, but she doesn't mind the attention, in fact, she adores it, she's just a little up herself, but in a good way. By that I mean, she's nice to everyone, but thinks she's just a little bit above them. See, much clearer. Amelia was born to Italian pureblood royalty (but she's not getting that throne. Poo) Matthew Renaldo, the Renaldo's are infamous in Italy and to a lesser extant Britain. That was why they moved, because it was too hard core in Italy, so they moved whilst her mother was pregnant and she was born at their town house home in Fulham, more importantly the Chelsea side to it. The rich side essentially. Because Amelia grew up in such a rich area she expected lots, all of which she got, surprise surprise, she turned out just a little spoilt.
She doesn't really go to Italy, it's not up her street and she'd much rather stay in London, nipping to Camden in the holidays than being stuck at press conferences and with family, so she stays at home, in the holidays though. At Hogwarts, she and the others in the group are treated like royalty. It's great for her, her head, along with the others slowly gets more and more inflated. Woopie.
Thankfully, NO MORE SCHOOL! Unfortunatley, University time. Urgh. Which means even more work, boo. Still Cyprus seems much more fun than Hogwarts, even if more difficult
She's a smart girl but doesn't bother. She's not into the whole work thing and instead spends her time with the boys and partying with them all, she's just a little bit of a flirt, and a lottle mean. She had, as had all of her friends, little minions, and she ruled her part of the school with a iron fist, nor is she afraid to stand up to any members in the group if she wants to say something. She's very honest and has a whiplash of a tounge, if you annoy her be afraid, because she's a clever girl, she won't physically hurt you, she'll just drive you into social ostricstion and a deep depression. No offence

Tom comes from a very wealthy Pureblood family- there are well known within the wizarding community and have established thier own social circle. Even through all of this Tom is a down to earth guy- he loves nothing better than surfing and relaxin'- and girls. His family are pressuring him into a high power job- yes, he'd probably enjoy it, but for now- he just wants to enjoy his time at the Institute and not worry about all of that. Who knows maybe he'll find the girl of his dreams too?
