Plot:
Benjamin Amsten and Antoni Dacosta are two Ministry employees who found love in each other. Their work life is hectic and highly demanding. Though this is true, when the two are home a different side is displayed as they build a life together. At home all the emotional triumphs and challenges unfold as the young couple start their journey together. As they grow together they share their private life with trusted friends and relatives.

First scene:
The day had finally arrived when Ben and Dacs were moving in together. It was a happy day as both moved around the house setting things in place. Both laughing at jokes they exchanged and enjoying the first of many private moments in their home. They moved an extra couch, freshly bought linen, new curtains, lamps and a photograph of the happy couple. Dacs had a lot gadgets she acquired during her years of being an auror including dark magic detectors, intruder detectors and her licensed second wand which she kept in a specially enchanted box when she didn't have it on her person.Benjamin brought in boxes of books and comics, Many magical souvenirs objects from cases past, and a few of his own creation, suits, and of course, fedoras.

"Let's go, troops," said the detective using his wand like a conductor. Floating boxes followed him into the house. "Alright, you're the last of the boxes. I want you three in the living room, you in the bedroom..... And you in the bathroom." Benjamin Amsten watched as the boxes of his stuff floated off- "No! No! No! The bedroom is that way! Come on." Benjamin sighed and looked at his wand. Magic.

He turned and looked around at the house. Ben smiled. This was he and Dacs' home. They were going to live a long and happy life together, and this was where it began. Oh yeah! Dacs! "Hun! Is that it??" Ben called out.... not exactly sure where she was.

Dacs popped in behind and wrapped her arms around his waist and said,"Yup, that's it. Can we take a break before we unpack? Let's explore the house, our house." Moving to stand in front of him she continued, saying,"Besides, I made us a snack, so we can start in the kitchen."

Flashing him a smile, she took him by the hand and led him from the foyer to the kitchen. She wasn't dressed as she usually is at work, in sharp dark clothes but had on a black and white tank top, cut jeans shorts and a long tan cardigan. It was Dacs at home but she kept her wand in her pocket. Her bright red hair was loosely pulled back into a relaxed ponytail.

In a flash, there were arms around his waist. Oh, there she was. Ben nodded at the break, idea. And then got excited when he heard 'snack.' What sort of snack did Dacs make?? Ben followed her into their kitchen. It was nice. The living room definitely needed a re-painting, but the kitchen was perfect.

That day, Benjamin was wearing a navy Yankees t-shirt, and tan shorts. Quite different than a suit and tie. Both holsters were on his wrists, exposed.

As he stood in the kitchen, he smiled at Dacs.

Dacs giggled as she saw his face light up at the word 'snack'. She moved gracefully around the counter and said,"My mom thought it was necessary that I knew to do almost everything the muggle way. So, I have made us, delicious ham and cheddar cheese sandwiches."

She smiled at him quickly before turning and grabbing to glasses of lemonade. Placing them on the tray, she took out her wand and had the tray float to the table before settling itself on it.

At home Dacs wasn't as closed and cold. It was the one place she let herself be at ease. Of course, being an ex-auror and DCI of the MLES, she still had magical barriers around her home, to everything and everyone in it that was precious to her.

Walking back around the counter, Dacs slipped into one of the chairs, tucking one leg beneath her."Care to join me tiger?" she remarked, with a smirk.

"Delicious," Ben repeated. And then he thought. 'The muggle way.' As classic as doing things 'the muggle way' were, they had the ability to use magic, Ben liked to take advantage of that ability. He appreciated it and everything, but ah well. Sandwiches will taste like sandwiches.

Dacs looked gorgeous that day- not like she doesn't EVERY day. But, there was something about the way she was sitting in that chair that got to Ben. "Yeah," the man said before walking over to the table and sitting down across from her. He smiled and took a lemonade before taking a sip.

When he put the glass back on the table, Benjamin couldn't help but laugh. His life seemed perfect. It was a beautiful day, eating lunch with the woman he loved, in their house. Hopefully, Dacs got the humor. "Ah... This is great."

She laughed as she too had some lemonade. It was almost normal yet surreal that they sat in their home together having lunch. Undisturbed and happy." It is. Ben, my head is still spinning from this. We have our home. I love you." she said, an uncharacteristic tone of utter excitement lined her voice.

Dacs sat back and watched him for a little while. She smiled as looked him, so relaxed, having lunch with her. No rush to go off and do something, it was the weekend and he was home with her. Reluctantly taking her gaze off him, she looked around the kitchen.

"So, do you love it so far? The house, there are some things I'd like to redecorate." she asked taking the last half of her sandwich to take a bite.

"I love you more," came out of Ben's mouth without hesitation. It was odd to hear Dacs with such excitement, but Ben expected it. Being with her for years, he really knew Dacs now... At least, he hoped he did.

And it was peaceful. Many things ran rampant in the back of Ben's mind. Especially with protecting the house, MLE assignments, and general things to do, but he decided to ignore them. Instead, focus on the moment. He finished up his sandwich and his lemonade not long after and waited for Dacs- so he could put the dishes in the sink.

"Absolutely. It's perfect." He could see his backyard from the kitchen and focused on the green grass. Ben thought he might like to put a deck in... If he could figure out construction. "We are going to be here for a long time." He smiled at Dacs.

She laughed as it warmed her heart. She polished off the rest of her lunch and leaned back to look out the window. It was nice to have an actual backyard.

" I was thinking of putting in a hammock in the backyard. But I think before we start all that, where would you like to start unpacking. I mean I really just hate that part but," she said with a shrug to complete her statement of 'whatever' She would do it with Ben there and that made it ok.

She kicked off her white flip flops she had on and wiggled her feet to relief a bit of tension in it from walking around so much. They had quite a bit to unpack.

A Hammock... Now there's an idea. I don't know how to conjure a hammock. Benjamin thought. He would have to go buy a hammock. I wonder what that process is like... He was dragged out of his thoughts by 'un-pack.'

Ben's wand came into his hand from his holster. With a flick, the dishes from their lunch moved into the sink. "As much as I would love to unpack our things the muggle way..."

Dacs took out her own wand, flicked it toward the dishes as they began to clean themselves,"I wasn't planning on that. I only made lunch that way because I didn't want to use magic to make the first meal we have together in our home. ", she said with a sweet smile.

She slipped her feet back into her flip flops and rose from the table. "Let's get started.", she said before she waved her effortlessly at the dishes that were clean and put them into the top cupboard with the others she'd put away earlier.

Dacs headed through the door on the right into the living room. It was spacious just the way she liked it.

Benjamin hopped back up and followed Dacs into the Living Room. He saw the boxes that needed to be put away. I'm sure Dacs THOUGHT they were going to do that manually. But...

With a big wave of his wand all the boxes in that room started emptying, and all it's contents being neatly places on all the shelves and tables. Books, flowers, and pictures were all in their proper place. "Well, this isn't so bad," he added with a smirk. "We MAY actually finish in two days."

Dacs laughed as she headed to the couch. She sat on it as she watched everything organize itself in the room."I'm sure we can finish by tomorrow. I just want to let it sink in for a minute." She could see herself curled up on that couch, reading a book or with Ben.

"I think we can delay the guest room and the powder room until tomorrow. The kitchen is done, the living room is in process, we can the master and the bathroom after this. In the mean time, come over here." she said. She scooted up a little as she patted a spot next to her.

Benjamin laughed. "That was sarcasm..." As the way the room was going, they could easily do the whole house. But as it stood, he had more important things to take care of. He went over to Dacs scooped her up and laid her down on the couch quickly, before going down next to her.

They were both laying on the couch, their couch, and Ben had one arm around her middle. The Detective kissed Dacs before adding again, "I love you."

Dacs squealed with laughter as Ben suddenly scooped her up. As he joined her on the couch, she held his hand that was on her waist as she kissed her."I love you too baby." She could feel his heart beating as a that familiar sense of security swept over her. She only got that feeling with Ben.

She squeezed his hand as she inhaled. His scent branded itself in her mind. It very masculine and all Ben."I love your scent. It's very you with spices." she said quietly, inhaling again."Remember the first time we met?"

Well that was weird. No one's ever really brought up his scent, before. But, oh well. "Thanks... I think." He let out a small laugh, before pondering her question.

"Yes, I do," Benjamin began with a smile. "You took everything so seriously, (and you still do). I thought it was ridiculous. And later that day, at the leaky cauldron, you were unlike anyone I had ever met," and she still was. Benjamin kissed her again. Just because he could. They were alone, in private. He could kiss her as much as he wanted to.

"It's good. I can always know it's you. If i'm sleeping I judge who is there by their scent."she remarked.

"Hey it's my nature. My auror training did that to me. Besides, I thought you were a prick I'd hate. Never imagined you would be so wonderful and become mine." Dacs reached up to sink her hands in his soft dark hair and kissed him back. She knew she would love and trust him for the rest of her life."I think it was because you never cowered or flinched at my cold persona, that got me to even go to the Leaky Cauldron." she remarked, laughing." All I know now, is that I love and would fiercely love you until you say stop."

A look appeared on Benjamin's face. "Hey. I was an auror, too. Head Auror, even," even if it was for the American Ministry. his look returned to a smirk. And when she brought up her first opinion of him. "Yeah... I get that often." He was kind of a jerk.

And back to the smile. "And I love you more than that," with one final kiss, it seemed the living room HAD finished putting itself together. Ben turned back to Dacs. "What do you say we do the... bedroom... next?"

She gave him an impish look and sat up. Looking around the living room was done as everything was in place, the picture of her mom was set neatly on a table in the corner. Turning back to him she said,"Let's go."

Dacs apparated them from living room to the master. She was careful to land them on the bed. She looked around the room before turn to Ben and said,"You know, while everything unpacks we could have some fun." before hit Ben with a kiss that made even her dizzy. Pulling back to look at him she asked,"What do you say?"

Dacs was more than aware that she was a loner. She only talked about the job with her coworkers. And as of late spent very little time with Ben, since he was doing a lot of work abroad.

She decided she would invite over a few of her coworkers, the ladies and her half sister. It was not her usual style but based on what was going on in the office she was sure the ladies would appreciate one night to be relaxed.

With a few extra pillows and cushions on the couch and on the floor on a blanket, Dacs waited for the other ladies to arrive.

Well this was going to make for an interesting night... not that she was complaining, because she wasn't. In fact the invitation had taken her by surprise. Did this mean she had friends? As in real living friends that were... female.

If so, then she must have done something right... or wrong depending on the perspective. Making friends of the female variety didn't come easily to Emily, she had always been more of a blokes girl. Guys had far less drama.

But here she was. Standing on the footpath outside Dacs' home, a bottle of firewhiskey in one hand, Emily stared up at the two-story home. It looked... lovely and suburban. Here goes nothing, she thought.
Letting out a sigh she walked up to the front door and knocked three times.

Then she waited.

Dacs got when she heard a knock at the door. She looked through the peep hole, before she stepped back, took out her wand to remove the security spell she had on the door. With a casual wave of her wand, she whispered,"Finite incantatem." She opened the door and smiled at Emily,"Hey, come on in, glad you could make it." she said, stepping back to let her in.

"The living room is through there." she said as she pointed toward the right of the foyer."Just waiting for Isobel and Layla to get here. Do you want anything to drink? I promise I won't poison you. I only do that dark wizards." Dacs gave her a smirk. Her Auror humour was not easily understood by many but she was sure Emily did.

Isobel was really starting to think that Emily drank far too much Firewhiskey. She'd being thinking about that as she wandered up towards Dac's house. She'd arrived with Emil logical seeing as Izzy had been staying with the girl since her break up with Armen, but had wandered a bit slower. It was nice to have a friend that was willing to do that for her. She didn't really want to have to go back to her parents house, especially considering that she didn't have her apparition license. It kind of sucked really, but things would get better. She knew they would. Or she certainly hoped so anyway. Isobel was strong, she would get through this.

And having nights like this certainly helped. Although she didn't really know who else was actually coming. The thing with going slow, was that Emily had already gone in. Hmm. Awkward. Raising her hand Izzy knocked on the door.

Layla took a deep breath at the door before knocking. She had contemplating turning back a few times but stuck to it. Her and Dacs were finally civil with each other but she wasn't sure about the other ladies that might be there. If they were MLE workers with an attitude she wasn't sure how she would take it, or even if she would take it.

Sigh. Might as well.

She knocked on the door and waited, hand playing with the hilt of her wand.
