It's the 1700s, and pirates are foraging and plundering more heavily than ever. Witch-hunting is also steadily becoming a huge threat to wizards and witches all over the world, so what are the hunted ones to do but to join forces with their equally-hunted criminal brothers?

This role play is about when wizards and witches begin joining the pirate crews of the day in order to evade capture. The pirates, who are oblivious to the magicality of their shipmates, are at constant war with each other, each wanting what the other doesn't have. There are four major ships in the same general area that all face troubles which, they believe, can only be solved by stealing from or taking control of another's ship.

Background: Kate's mother died of measles when Kate was only 4 years old. Her father was a Commodore in the British Navy and got his daughter interested in ships at a very young age. It wasn't long until she was having one of her own built. On its maiden voyage, however, it was commandeered by pirates. Luckily, they let Kate live, and she became a member of the crew. While docked in a harbor in the Caribbean a few months later, though, it was destroyed by a heavily armed merchant vessel. Her crew mates fled, but she stayed. She had a good deal of money with her and had a second ship built, The Duchess. She rounded a crew of her own up, and has been sailing the seas since.
Personality: Kate is a little hard to get along with when you first meet her. She likes things done a certain way and won't settle for slackers. She has a very good heart, though, and is determined to one day return home and see her father, who has assumed her dead for six years now.

Backround: Kyle ran away from home as soon as he started hearing rumors in his neighborhood that the neigbors were starting to expect his family to be magic. He regreted leaving the very next day seeing in a paper his parents were killed. He felt so terrible abou this but vowed to avenge them. He goes over to the harbor gets with the pirates and make all wizard persecuting muggles pay.

Backround: Victoria was wizard advocate wuth a strong heart. She would break into prisons and free witches and wizards inthe night but the night she is caught the whole town turned on her and she ran away to the harbor and joined the pirates. This was the last thing she wanted to do but being a fugitive of her town with a death warrent she felt like she had no choice and atleast she would be with and helping the people she risked all to save.

Background: Elizabeth was kidnapped by pirates when she was 14. She had been sold as a slave to many pirates.
Personality: Elizabeth has became very confidant ever since she got kidnapped. She is afraid of speaking out to her captain though for the fear of having to walk the plank.

Personality: Adelpha isn't the most optimistic person in the world and, in a crisis, tends to panic and completely not think.

Personality: Captain McCreed is a strong, independent woman. Due to past experiences she has a hard time trusting people. Those that do earn her trust find that she is a very dependable and fiercely loyal woman. Those who have the privilege to sail aboard her ship will find quickly that while she is fair and she expects all jobs to be done according to her specifications. At times she may seem brazen even harsh but she believes in telling it like it is, even if it sometimes gets her in trouble.

Background: Sonja was born into a low class working family in a small town called Harborside. Her father worked as the Dock Master’s assistant while her mother was a seamstress. Being the only child Sonja went to work with him and he taught her at an early age that hard work was the only way to get anything in this world.

When Sonja was 11 two strange vessels came in the night. One, The Dark Dragon, attack and destroyed the little town of Harborside, and then the pirates aboard came to shore and killed all those that they could find including Sonja’s parents. While hiding in a cellar, Sonja was discovered by a man named Captain Gerard. He took her to his ship, The Tigress, claiming that he was following the Dragon to try and stop her but was too late. Sonja was instantly infatuated with him and believed every word he said.

Captain Gerard gave her a home and a job aboard his ship and taught her all the things he knew. As the years past she built relationships with everyone aboard and learned everything she could about ships, fighting, and being a pirate. Sonja worked and fought alongside Gerard until she turned 20. Upon her 20th birthday Gerard asked her to marry him. Sonja was overjoyed and happily accepted. The night before their wedding, another ship came and their Captain requested an audience with Captain Gerard. Sonja was curious to who the man was and why he wanted to speak with her fiancé. That’s when Sonja learned the truth. Gerard had been in league with the man these past many years, and they were both responsible for the massacre at Harborside.

Feeling utterly betrayed Sonja went on the war path. Only a few managed to escape with their lives, both Captains were not among the living. She set fire and sank both vessels and then spent 10 days at sea. Sonja exhibited some strange abilites that night, abilities that she had had since turning 11 but had decided to hide. It was because of these “magical” abilities that she believes she was able to survive. Finally, she washed up on shore near Port Royal, where she decided that she needed a new ship. For three years she worked, slowly gathering the tools and materials that she needed. Then she spent another year building what would become one of the most feared vessels ever to sail the seven seas.

Now she sails with a crew of her own and runs things as she sees fit. While her skills and morals make her a fit Captain, her past makes her deadly adversary. All betrayers beware.
