As we all know, in Harry's fourth year, the Yule Ball is held. Ah, where to start? The Yule Ball. The Yule Ball of 2007 (I'm going to update it 13 years, to make it easier for us. I'm not sure everyone can remember 1994. I know I can't.) brought several couples together. Four seventh years, one from each house, found that happiness can be found in the strangest of places.

Cassandra, a Slytherin, met and fell in love with Jason, a Gryffindor. Both are eighteen by this time, and, by the time the summer holiday rolls around, they're planning a wedding, despite their age.

Maria (Ravenclaw), Cassandra's cousin, once dated Simon (Hufflepuff), Jason's best friend. However, things . . . didn't go smoothly, to put it gently. They ended up splitting up, with hurt on both sides. Since then, they've teased each other, when secretly their in love and don't want to admit it.

When Paul, Jason's other best's friend's brother, turns up. He tries to stir up mischeif, by splitting Cassandra and Jason up. He also tries to get Maria and Simon together, despite how much they're trying not to admit their feelings.

Will he succeed in his evil plan or his good plan? Will he succeed in both? Will he succeed in neither?

Well, let's just say . . . it's your decision.

History: Her parents died when she was very yougn, so she was brought up by her uncle Phil, Cassandra's father. When she was 14/15, she dated Simon Beckett, but it didn't go well and they ended up splitting up. Since then, she's had one boyfriend and hasn't really been able to commit to anybody.

Personality: Is very evil and will stop at nothing to ruin his brother Daniel and his friends. He's set against anything good, making him the ideal candidate for a Slytherin.
History: Even though he's older than Daniel, Paul stands to inherit nothing from his parent's death, as they've disowned him. Since he was five and he started showing how malicious he was, they shipped him off to live with his paternal grandmother. He's never had any friends.

History: Born to Belle and Mathieu Jamison in Paris, France. Belle left the family when Charlie and her twin brother, Blake, were barely ten years old. Their father moved them to London where they were accepted as Slytherins at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Neither twin talked to Belle anymore, but only Charlie stopped talking to her father, with the exception of when she had to. She blamed him for her mother leaving.
Personality: For a while, Charlie was very shy and really stopped talking to people, but then she came out of her shell. Now she's extremely outgoing, and also very flirtatious. She's really sweet, but short tempered and if you get in her way she'll blow.
Appearance: Charlie is rather small, at only 5'1". She's not skinny, but she's certainly not fat. More... average. She has straight, jet-black hair that goes to her waist and bright emerald green eyes. She's got tan skin, and always wears a silver ring on a chain around her neck. Charlie is gorgeous, not in that one-look-I'm-in-love way, but a really subtle way that's probably prettier than anyone else.

Personality: Blake was always outgoing, but probably became less so when his sister stopped being shy. They always connected and really understood each other so he seemed to speak a lot through her, but he still spoke a lot for himself. Like his sister he was pretty flirtatious himself, too.
Appearance: Despite the fact that Blake is a whole foot taller than his sister at 6'1", he couldn't deny her if he tried. They have the same tan skin, same black hair, and the same green eyes. Blake, being the sports guy, is also pretty muscular. Both twins are extremely good-looking people.

Build: Petite and skinny. In a very health way, she enjoys running since it clears her head. She isn't very strong and can sometimes be a little bit vulnerable at times.

Appearance: Eliza is very relaxed when it comes to her style and she fine with that. She likes wearing colorful and bright cardigans but she can also live with wearing just a simple stripped sweater. She like wearing different random graphic tee's and when she can't find a sweater to wear she'll settle for a muggle band hoodie. Eliza absolutely HATES dressing up, but has been known to when forced. She also dislikes wearing make-up, since she believes naturally beauty is true beauty. Personality: Ben is a very friendly guy, who like having having fun and hanging out with his friends. He is a very loyal person, who will stand up to anyone. Appearance: Simon has short brown hair, blue eyes and tanned skin. At 6'1", he is fairly tall and has an athletic build. He doesn't put much effort into his appearance, often wearing jeans and a tee shirt or hoodie. He'll only dress up if he absolutely has to. He prefers to be comfortable.

Personality: Simon is a really friendly guy. He'll have a conversation about anything with anyone, even strangers. Despite this apparent openness, Simon is actually a very secretive person. It is hard for him to admit his feelings or his problems. He tries to be the strong one; the one that everyone leans on, but he doesn't have any outlet for his own negative feelings. Simon is a true Hufflepuff in that he is very loyal to his friends and is hard-working.

Maria ran a hand through her dark hair. She couldn't believe it. Cassandra and Jason being split up? It seemed almost insane that such a good couple should be split up, after the years they'd known each other. She sighed, leaning against the window frame and looking out at the street below her. She could just see Cassandra there, sat on the bench she'd been sat on since Jason left.

Perhaps . . . no. She'd let Cassandra calm down before going to talk to her.

Simon sat on a rock near the pond that he and Jason always used to play in when they were younger. He had told Jason to meet him here as soon as he had found out that Jason and Cassandra had broken up. Breaking up with Maria was the biggest mistake of his life, and now it was too late to fix it. Simon didn't want Jason to make the same mistake with Cassandra.

Jason had so much to talk about with his best friend. Cassandra was (and will always be) the love of his life. It was most heart-breaking day Jason has ever had to go through. He slowly made his way down to the pond. In the distance, he could see Simon. That forced a small smile to his face. Jason needed Simon more than ever.

"Hey." Jason whispered taking a seat next to Simon. He stared at the ground and took a deep breath before returning up to his friend.

"Hey," Simon greeted his best friend. Before Jason got there, Simon had been ready to reprimand Jason for breaking up with Cassandra. The two had seemed so perfect together, Simon couldn't understand why Jason would break up with her. But now that Jason was there, and Simon could see how heartbroken he was, Simon felt all of his confusion melting away. After all, Simon could relate after his break-up with Maria.

Simon smiled weakly at Jason, not sure what to say. "How are you doing?" Simon finally managed to get out.

Poor Cassandra. Of course she'd be upset. Cassandra was one of Charlie's good friends, they'd been in Slytherin since they were first years after all. She had to find her, but where would she be? Hm, she thought about it. Charlie wasn't sure, but she thought she'd go look for her.
Yeah, he heard about it. So what? What was the big deal anyways? So Jason and Cassandra had broken up. As far as Blake was concerned, it just meant they were both free. And that Cassandra girl was not too bad looking.

Unable to believe it, Cassandra ran a hand through her long, blonde hair. After so long of her thinking that she would be with Jason for the rest of her life . . . it had all come crashing down around her. Now her dreams lay shattered.

The nineteen year old was sat on a bench outside the house her father owned. She'd been crying for who knew how long, and now that she'd stopped she had tear tracks running down her cheeks. So much for beauty.

She sighed, and stood up, her legs shaking slightly as she'd been sat down so long. She looked at the door, before slowly turning the handle and opening it. Cassandra cast a single glance back, wondering where Jason had gotten to. Then she realised that she shouldn't care. It wasn't like they were together, anymore.

Silently stepping into the house and closing the door, she crept up the stairs to her cousin's bedroom. She passed it, holding her breath, forgetting about the creaky floorboard. It took her weight, but as soon as she stepped off it, it creaked. Busted. Instead of waiting for the door to open, as she knew it would, she hurried down the corridor to her bedroom.
