"You must remember that many young witches and wizards your age have not had any practice in flying before, and so they don't even own brooms of their own. If you brought your own... now, that wouldn't be at all fair, would it?"
He pouted, staring up at her and turning her words over in his mind. "No, I suppose you're right," he sighed. He still hated not being able to take his broom with him.

"Oh, I was still going to clean the house," Mrs. Wood replied, upon hearing their request. "But I'm sure Oliver will want to join you," she added, turning in the direction o the stairs and calling for her son.
"Coming!" was his response, and a moment leter, he appeared in the hall. "Oh, so you already asked her?" he inquired of his freinds, as if thi had been a prior arrangement. Which it had been.
Mrs. Wood just smiled at him fondly, nodding her permission. Grinning, Oliver grabbed a small bag of money from the kitchen table, and rushed out of the door with his friends. | |
