Chapter One part one

A girl of twenty-one sat in a empty dusty room, her brown hair fell softly around her shoulders, the brown eyes had a empty look of sadness in them. She was staring down at the engagement ring on her finger, it was silver and had amethyst on it. Her favorite gem. There was nothing but silence.


“ Miss Granger, we have finished inspecting and removing everything, are you prepared to go?” A man with gray hair stuck is head in the room.


“ I'm ready Auror Culbertson.” Hermione Granger sat up brushing the dust off her black robes, picking up her small purse she left the room, took one last look at the house. Tears springing in to her eyes, she turned away from the house and got in to the black car waiting for her, she was crying silently to herself, hoping that no one else would have to a life like hers. Hermione fell asleep in the car, her sleep was restless and she dreamed of October 13th of last year.

It was a cold joyful morning, the day before Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley's wedding. Ginny and Hermione were sitting on the latter's bed laughing at a funny joke.
“ Soon you'll be my sister in law 'Mione, can you imagine that!” Ginny laughed happily.
“ I can indeed, I'll even be Harry's sister in law, I can hardly wait till tomorrow.” Hermione squealed, equally happy. Right after speaking those words a tawny owl flew in to the room dropped a letter on Hermione's lap then flew away.
“ It's from Ron.” Hermione finally said confused. She opened the letter
Dear Hermione,
I know your probably with Ginny right now, I am sorry to tell you this,
I know it will break your heart. But the wedding is off, I don't know why
I am in this place, I really didn't know what I was doing. I would like
to meet you tonight and talk this over. But I can't get married to you
~Love Ron

Tears started forming in Hermione's eyes.
“ What's wrong?” Ginny asked putting her arm around her best friend.” Is Ron hurt?”
“ No, he says the wedding is off.” Hermione started sobbing uncontrollably.

Hermione awoke with a start, she had arrived at the ministry.


“ Thank you,” She quickly said to the driver then exited the car, not wanting them to see her tears. Upon entering the Ministry of magic she was greeted by several people, nodded a greeting to them she continued towards a young man with pale blond hair.


“ Malfoy, you wanted to talk with me?” She asked her fellow unspeakable.


“ Yes, I'm sorry about your parents. I have been assigned with you to find out how they where murdered, and I think I know who did it.” Draco Malfoy turned away from talking with a Auror to face Hermione.” My father, Lucius, recently was released from Azkaban. No one paid attention to his threat that he would hurt the friends and family of the people that put him there for a fourth time, or they had forgotten, you, Potter and I put him in there. So I think he wanted to retaliate and hurt you.”


“ Thanks, I had forgotten. Now we just need proof that he did it, if he did.” Hermione smiled for the first real time in months, what surprised her was she smiled at Draco Malfoy.


“ I now what your going through Hermione, I lost my parents also, one turned crazy, and the other my father killed. I want to help you more then anything to get him back where he belongs.” Draco said. Hermione looked up at him surprised at first, she never had heard who killed Narcissa Malfoy until now.


“ Do you know where Lucius is?” She asked, hardly daring to do so.


“ I have an idea of where he might me, you want to check there with me after you finish your shift?” Draco answered. With out thinking Hermione threw her arms around Draco and kissed him.


“ Oh, sorry... Was just really.. Happy, that we might be able to catch your dad.” Hermione mumbled going a brilliant red.


“ That's alright, I'm just as happy.” Draco laughed...

AW.. Poor Hermione.... I wonder what Ron's reason for not marrying her was/is. Oh, please update soon!

Chapter One part two

A two year old boy sat in the fallen leaves playing with his baby brother.
“ No Al you can't eat the leafs, mummy sad no!” James Potter scolded little Albus.


“ I wanna!” Albus's vocabulary for a one year old was rather large. Though some say he got that from his uncle.


“ MUMMY! AL IS ETTING THE LEAFS!” James shouted, he then turned and saw a medium height woman with long slightly curly brown hair open the white washed wooden gate, she was followed by a tall man with white-blond hair.


“ Hey James.” Hermione smiled at the two year old picked him up and spun him around.


“ Auntie Mione!” James laughed, Hermione put him down right as Ginny came around from the back yard.


“ Oh my, Hermione you scared me.” Ginny said not recognizing Draco at first.


“ Sorry didn't mean to, Draco and I are here to talk with Harry.” Hermione responded indicating Draco briefly with her free arm, one of them Albus Potter was hanging on. Ginny's eyes narrowed a little at the mention of Draco Malfoy then smiled.


“ Alright. HARRY! HERMIONE IS HERE.” Ginny raised her voice for the last part, Harry soon came around from the back yard also.


“ Hermione! You should visit a lot more often.. Draco Malfoy?” Harry finished slightly stunned then put his hand out to Draco.


“ Harry Potter.” Draco answered shaking Harry's hand.


“ Draco and I need to talk to you about Lucius, can we do this inside?” Hermione asked slightly bouncing on her toes with anxiety.


“ Oh sure, come on in.” Harry beckoned them towards the large white house. Draco and Hermione entered after Harry then Ginny followed them carrying James and Albus.” The living room should work,” Harry then showed them in to the large spacious living room which was decorated with numerous paintings and photo's.


“ As you might have heard Lucius has been released from Azkaban, but you may not have noticed that last week two muggles where murdered. At first they where said to have died from natural death, but after being urged by there daughter to double check, they where pronounced to have been killed by Avada Kedavra, Hermione and I have reason to believe that my father murdered them. The two muggles where Richard and Sarah Granger.” Draco explained..


“ Oh my gosh.. I am so sorry Hermione... Lucius will pay for this.” Harry glared at his hands, he of all people knew what it was like to loose parents to a dark wizard, first his real parents, then his god-father, then his secondary god-father and his wife...

Chapter Two

There was a crash followed with a scream upstairs but Lucius ignored it, there was no way she would be escaping. Quickly he added two precise drops of Lemon water to the simmering potion the put in five ounces of beetle juice, stirring it slowly counterclockwise. Then the potion turned a mild gray, almost instantly Lucius dropped three elderberries in it causing it to turn black. There was another scream, Lucius rolled his eyes pouring the contents of the cauldron in to a small glass vial. He almost ran up the stairs and pushed open the door on the far end of the corridor.
Inside was a eleven year old girl with messy dark brown hair that fell in her lightning blue eyes.


“ Take this.” Lucius snapped hurriedly.


“ No.” The girl protested as her blue eyes pierced his gray ones.


“ Fine.” Lucius forced the contents of the vial down the girls throat, she gasped once then fell unconscious.

Auror Potter blasted down the door of a old house, then wrinkled her nose in disgust.


“ It looks like he was making a potion in here, come check it out you lot.” Ginny called over her shoulder.


Hermione, Harry and Draco followed her in.


“ UGH! It smells in here.” Harry gasped.


“ Here the cauldron is, I can get rid of the smell in a bit.” Hermione muttered a spell then the smell instantly vanished.” What ever he was making at lemon water in it, let me see if I can get samples of what little is left in here.”


Ginny rolled her eyes, her best friend was always trying to do things perfectly.


“ Why can't we sample it?” Harry asked.


“ Because it might be poison.” Hermione stated.


“ But.. Hermione! Of all the potions that use lemon water only one of them is poison and that one uses honey leaves. Which would have a rather distinct smell,” said Harry, Ginny tried not to laugh.


“ Oh yea.. But... You sure you want someone to sample this? It might be a modified poison.” Hermione also tried not to laugh.


“ I can sample it, it's not like it's going to kill me.” Ginny stepped forward, Hermione warily handed her the small amount of what was left, her wand hand ready in case this was a trap. Ginny swallowed it, gasped then fell to the ground. Hermione shrieked in surprise.


“ She's... not dead.” Hermione said taking deep breaths as she examined Ginny.


“ Remind me to never let anyone sample a potion again.” Harry muttered, but both Hermione and Draco heard him.


“ I'm going to check up stairs, but I don't think that Lucius is here.” Draco said. Hermione was able to revive Ginny while he was upstairs.


“ Never.... Again.. Ever... That tasted worse then gross.” Where the first intelligible words Ginny managed to say. Right after she said that Draco arrived downstairs with a small girl in his arms.


“ I think she had a full dose of the potion, she's still alive though.” Draco explained,


“ Here let me revive her, I figured out how to do it. Let's wait till we get back to the Potter Mansion though, much more safer,” Hermione added the last part quickly...


I'll start working on Chapter Three soonish

Great update! Why could he just leave the girl there?! Hmmm.. And Ginny testing the potion? Tsk, tsk.. haha. Can't wait for more PAMS!

Chapter Three

“ I talked to to the little girl, she's eleven and a muggleborn. Lucius killed her parents so she's obviously now a orphan. Oh and her name is Calypso McCray.” Ginny said as she sat down next to Harry.


“ I. Hate. Lucius.” Hermione muttered under her breath, Draco was the only one that heard her.


“ I take it she has to go to a orphanage now?” Harry asked.


“ No she doesn't, I'll adopt her.” Hermione sat up straighter as she said this.


“ You'll... Hermione!” Ginny jumped up surprised.


“ What?” Hermione answered.


“ But.. That's nothing to take lightly, oh never mind I forgot who I am talking
to.” Ginny rolled her eyes as she laid back in to the couch.


“ So.. When do we get to kill Lucius?” Harry said.


“ Harry, that's nothing to take lightly either, he's powerful and no one really knows where he is.. People are scared of him, scared that there children will be killed, or they will.” Ginny glared at him.


“ As long as the don't call him he-who-must-not-be-named or you-know-who I'm fine with that.” Harry smirked. Ginny's glare deepened.


“ Er.. Draco you've been rather silent.” Hermione spoke up.


“ Yea you have.” Ginny turned to face him, much to Harry's relief.


“ Oh... Lucius might be at the Malfoy Manor, but I doubt it, he doesn't live there anymore. How's Calypso doing?” Draco looked up surprised.


“ She's doing-” But before Ginny could finish the door bell rang.


“ I'll get it.” Hermione stood up and walked to the door.


“ Hi.. oh.. Hi Hermione.” They heard Ron say. Ginny and Harry exchanged looks of horror. As Draco quickly followed Hermione.” I'm looking for Harry is he ho-” Ron broke off as he saw Draco.


“ Harry, Ron's here for you.” Hermione's pleasant tone was obviously forced. Harry immediately headed towards the door.


“ Hey Ron, Lavender.” Harry smiled warmly at then.” Come on in.”


“ Hi Harry, thanks.” Lavender giggled. Hermione and Ginny glanced at each other and rolled there eyes.


“ So, uh.. Why's Malfoy here?” Ron asked. Hermione did her best to bight her tongue and not retort- Why's Lavender here?-


“ Business, Ginny's a auror and Draco is helping her catch Lucius.” Harry said.


“ Since your here to talk with Harry I think I can excuse myself and the others. Hermione, Draco let's go check on Calypso.” Ginny noticing what Hermione was trying not to say. Ron waited till after they left to speak.


“ Who's Calypso?” He asked.


“ Hermione's daughter.”


“ WHAT!” Lavender and Ron burst out at the same time.


“ Oh sorry, Hermione's adopting her, Lucius killed both Mione's and Calypso's parents.” Harry resisting the urge to laugh at the look on Ron's face.


“ That makes more sense..” Ron said his expression changing from horrified to less horrified.


“ So what did you want to talk to me about?” Harry asked...

Awesome update! Hermione adopting the girl, awww! She should have slammed the door right in Lavender and Ron's faces!!!!!! I wonder what Ron is going to talk to Harry about.... PAMS!!!!!!!!!!

Okay here is Chapter Four...

Chapter Four

“ Er.. Okay.” Calypso looked Hermione up and down suspiciously.” Who's Lucius?”


“ My father.” Draco said as he absentmindedly stroked Calypso's hair as she sat in his lap. Calypso turned to looked up at him as if studying him.


“ Why aren't you like him then?” Calypso asked. Hermione looked amused at this question.


“ Because he has a heart.” Hermione couldn't help but say.


“ But.. You can't live with out a heart.” Calypso turned to face Hermione.


“ I meant as in he actually can have feelings and uh.. um. Draco help me out here.” Hermione glared at him.


“ Why, your doing so well on your own.” Draco smirked.


“ Draco doesn't enjoy killing and torturing people, Lucius does, Lucius does have feelings but there only caused by others pain. Draco can love, er.. He can be happy.. He's nicer.” Hermione continued to glare at Draco.” And cuter.” Ginny was the only one that heard what Hermione last said, and did nothing but raise an eyebrow at her.


“ Well.. Nice to know what you think of me.” Draco was nearing laughter, Hermione leaned over and slapped him.


“ Your a bunch of crazy people.” Calypso laughed.” But nice crazy people. Will I still go to Hogwarts?”


“ Of course, unless you don't want to.” Draco answered.


“ I thought I was adopting her.” Hermione eyed Draco.


“ We can both adopt her.” Draco said with out thinking. Ginny and Hermione burst in to laughter.” Okay.. What did I say?”


“ You said we can both adopt her, and people don't do that normally unless their married.” Hermione explained through laughter. Draco went a little red.


“ Normally.. We can be non-normal.” He finally said.


“ Alright, let's head downstairs and see if won-won and lav-lav have left.” Ginny smiled. Hermione nodded in agreement stifling her laughter at what Ginny called her brother and his wife. Calypso watched Ginny curiously as Draco picked her up. The four of them headed downstairs.


“ That's all your fault, not mine Ron.” They heard Harry saying angrily.


“ Little ickle won-wons fault.” Ginny giggled causing both Draco and Hermione to burst in to laughter. The three occupants of the room turned to look at them.


“ What's so funny?” Harry asked.


“ Er.. Nothing, oh Harry there's been a slight change of plans, Hermione and Draco are adopting Calypso.” Ginny said once she stopped laughing.


“ EXCUSE ME WHAT?!” Ron shouted.


“ Er.. I dunno what won-won?” Hermione glared at him.


“ Hermione, drop it, let's go in to the kitchen and relieve Luna from watching James and Albus.” Draco quickly intervened. Hermione threw one last glare at Ron before going in to the kitchens.


“ Oh hello Hermione.. Are you dating Draco now?” Luna asked smiling at each in turn. Hermione choked on the water she had just sipped.


“ No, why do you ask?” Hermione responded once she could breath again.


“ You two would be great for each other.” Luna stated, there was silence after that, filled by Albus and James playing and Calypso running in to Draco repeatedly.


“ Er. Calypso, what are you doing?” Draco looked at the young girl.


“ Trying to knock ya over.” She answered as she ran in to him again. Hermione started to laugh, then Luna joined, then Draco.


“ I almost forgot, Luna this is Calypso, Draco and I are adopting her. Calypso this is Luna.” Hermione said after she could talk.


“ Oh, so your engaged to Draco, not dating him. Congratulations.” Luna smiled.


Unfortunately or fortunately, depends on your outlook of the situation. Ginny, Harry, Ron and Lavender just entered the room.


“ Um.. Draco can I talk with you privately please.” Hermione said weakly.


“ Suuure.” Draco looked at confused but followed her. As he followed her he noticed that Ron was glaring at him, and if looks could kill Draco knew he would be past dead.


“ Okay.. Um. I know you probably don't want to do this, but I reeaaaaally want to get Ron mad.” Hermione said after they entered the living room and shut the door.” And. Uh, I was wondering if you wanted to pretend that what Luna said was true.” Hermione finished looking at her feet. Draco's stomach did a flip. She, Hermione Granger wanted to...


“ Anything to make Weasley mad.” Draco grinned. Hermione beamed up at him and kissed him again, and the occupants of the kitchen had just entered because Ron and Lavender were leaving. Hermione quickly stepped away from Draco, and looked at Ron with a look almost like triumph.


“ Bye, nice talking with you Hermione.” Lavender waved, Hermione stared at her confused. They hadn't talked before this, what was she playing at.


“ Uh bye. Had a great time.” Hermione said. Soon enough Ron and Lavender left then Luna left, not long after that Draco and Hermione excused themselves.


“ You know, sometimes I wonder what happened to our little bookworm prefect.” Ginny said after the last two departed.


“ Ron happened.” Harry muttered through gritted teeth.


“ I meant how she ended up liking Malfoy.” Ginny elbowed Harry.


“ Oh.. No idea, girls are strange.” Harry laughed...

AW! They love each other haha. And adopting Calypso together, awesome. I just love Draco.... Excellent update!!! Keep 'em coming
