Chapter Eight: Mourn

The party that the young teenagers had planned was in full blast, and quite wild. They had switched it to the room of requirement once all the fifth and fourth years arrived. No one was even sure who led them there. Lily inwardly groaned as her two brothers were making there way towards her. Quickly she turned the other way, every single time they talked now, it was like -Lily I know you miss mum and dad, are you okay?- or -Lily I heard you've been crying is about mum and dad?- Heading over to the drink table she mulled over when her uncle and aunt came and told her family the ghastly news, ever since then she had been more and more silent and shut out of her family.

" Lily!" James called, grabbing her arm." Don't you dare try and walk away from me, I need to talk to you."

Lily turned away from him, relaxing slightly. Not wanting to look in his eyes, they were most likely filled with a mixture of anger, disappointment and sympathy. She loathed sympathy, everyone gave her to much of it. His breathing calmed down a little, but a awkward silence remained between them, as Lily didn't want to say anything to James. And he clearly wasn't quite ready to talk yet.

" Right, is there a reason why Rose dragged Al and I off the train in to a carriage and spent the whole trip yelling at us for neglecting you.. I mean, we tried to keep our distance, because we don't know how to deal with upset girls, we wanted to give you time to.. Uh, well, grow up.. Get over it I guess, I mean.. This all sounds worse then it's supposed to.." James trailed off several times in his rant.

Lily suppressed laughter, was her brother really this dense?

" James. Rose, see's things in a different perspective then you do.. She's a girl, get used to it." Lily bit the inside of her mouth to stop herself from laughing." But next time, don't be to distant."

" Lily! Were sorry, we did what we thought was best." Albus pleaded, putting on his best puppy-dog face.

" I know, I'm not mad. I'm just giving you advice." Lily sighed.

" Yes you are mad, I'm not that dumb." James, had he been younger would have stomped his foot in frustration about now.

" Ugh! I'm going to murder Rose.." Lily narrowed her eyes in the direction of her cousin.

" You are? We're the ones she yelled at!" Albus protested." If your doing it, then I'm going along for the show, and to add in a few words here and there."

" Um.. Albus, no thanks. I said murder, not scream." Lily rolled her eyes and walked away, feeling like that was the most awkward conversations in her whole life, well, she thought that until she bumped in to her least favorite person.

" Oh, sorry, should pay attention to where I'm walking." Septimus muttered, then looked to see who he collided with.

" Um.. Nah, that was my fault." Lily stuttered.

" Or both of our faults." Septimus shrugged, with a slight smile. Lily blinked as her stomach started to do flips.

" Um.. Yea, er.. Well, uh." Lily felt at a loss for words, literally.

" LILY! Come here, we're about to set off a bunch of fireworks!" Missy grabbed her arm and yanked her towards the corner of the room.

" Cool, um.. Bathroom." Lily muttered.

" Aw, want us to wait for you, to set them off?" Missy asked kindly.

" Uh no, it's okay." Lily nearly bolted to the door and to the end of the hall before bursting in to tears, she collapsed against the side of the stone wall, letting her head fall in to her hands.

" Lily?"

I know that Lily is rather weepy and teary, but that's because well, her parent's are dead.. So, as the chapters progress, she will become less weepy (and in case your wondering she cried through out all her other years at Hogwarts as well) And here is a chapter which I hope is kinda long!

Chapter Nine: Vulnerable

" Lily?" Who ever was speaking, Lily Potter certainly didn't recognize the voice, and felt very vulnerable towards whoever it was, sitting there crying her heart out." Lily, are you okay?" The voice seemed closer now, and more worried, but still, Lily couldn't find it in her to look up.

"Mfie." Lily muttered in to her arms.

" Um, sorry, I haven't learned gibberish yet, could you repeat that?" The person, a female, seemed to be filled with both joy and sorrow at the same time.

" I'm fine!" The words came out sharper then Lily intended them to, and even she blanched. Suddenly she felt cool hands wrap themselves around her face and pulled her head up to face the girls.

She had electric blue eyes that seemed to be racing with beauty, soft pale blonde curls encircled her head in a crown of white gold. Lily thought she looked familiar for some reason, but she couldn't place her finger on where she had seen the girl before, she looked probably her age, if not older." Well.. You don't sound, or look for that matter, fine." She said jovially, ignoring the stinging words that Lily nearly spat.

" It doesn't matter to you does it." Lily felt even more vulnerable, staring in to the girls bright blue orbs.

" Oh gosh! I forgot to introduce myself." The girl laughed musically." Dominique Marigold Weasley, at your service."

" Another Weasley?" Lily accidentally spoke her thoughts out loud.

" Well.. Yea." Dominique didn't seem offended in the least, in fact she seemed to find it amusing." Now.. Let's get you up dear, I just transferred from Beaxbatons. You need to show me around, introduce me to all the cute guys and what not.. Or well, you could go rest, which ever you feel like doing."

" Um.. I'm fine, I don't need rest." Lily tried to keep her tone from being rude, and wasn't sure if she succeeded or not.

" Okay! Let's get back to the party then, oh and.." Dominique muttered a quick spell as she pointed her wand at Lily." Get's rid of red eyes from crying."

Lily took a deep breath and nodded, annoyed that she had been caught crying. They entered the Room of Requirement once more and Dominique began her non stop chatter about what the boys looked like that were there, Lily nodded, not entirely interested until suddenly Dominique gasped and yanked on her arm." What?" Lily said annoyed.

" Who.Is.He?" Dominique gasped, breathless.

Lily followed Dominique's gaze, expecting to see someone like Scorpius Malfoy, but no, he was on the other side of the room, with Rose.

" Oh, Snape, he's taken." Lily said offhandedly.

" That's one lucky girl, who exactly is it?" Dominique groaned in despair.

" Um." Lily paused, in all truth Septimus wasn't taken, she just, didn't know." I dunno, but anyways he's Slytherin bloke."

" I'm Slytherin!" Dominique said, rolling her eyes." What about you?"

" Guilty of being Slytherin as well." Lily said after a moment or two.

" What about that guy with Rose?" Dominique then queried.

" Scorpius Malfoy, he and Rose are both Ravenclaw's." Lily didn't have to look over, knowing exactly who Dominique was talking about.

" And he's clearly taken, are there any good looking boys not taken here at Hogwarts?" Dominique joked.

" Hey! What do you think I am? Ohh. Never mind, hi Dominique." Albus nearly blushed at his mistake, Lily couldn't help but laugh as Dominique wrinkled her nose in obvious disgust.

" Go away Albus, after that I'm ashamed to be related to you." Lily muttered through her laughter.

" Hey!" Albus said defensively.

" Actually, why don't you two catch up.. I'm starting to get tired, well bye." Lily said quickly, disappearing in to the crowds before Albus or Dominique could stop her, she debated on going off to a more deserted area of the castle to mourn more, or whether she should really go back to the Slytherin dormitories and get sleep.

Eventually, she chose to head off towards the Astronomy tower out of boredom. Upon getting there she burst in to tears, then overcome by sleepiness she fell in to a deep slumber only to be awoken by some coughing." What the.." For the umpteenth time that night, Lily felt vulnerable, she had just been found sleeping in the Astronomy tower, by none other then Septimus Snape.

" Um.. You okay?" Septimus asked, hesitantly.

" Uh...." Lily just stared at him, what in the world was he doing up here?" Oh, yea.. Yea. I'm fine." She had said that countless times tonight, but for some reason no one seemed to be buying it.

" It's after hours, you, we, uh, should head back towards the dungeons." Septimus mumbled.

" Oh yea! We should." Lily said in a way to bright tone for the way she felt right now. Septimus raised his eyebrows suspiciously but said nothing as they headed down the stairs from the tower. Their trip was uninterrupted until they heard the all to familiar shuffling of Argus Filch, who was ancient, but still fast." Dammit!" Lily swore under her breath." My brothers are going to murder me!"

" This way." Septimus said quickly, grabbing her hand and running off in a direction that seemed almost random to Lily, but she followed him non the less.

After what seemed hours, but probably in reality only fifteen minutes, of running Lily saw the familiar signs of nearing Slytherin "territory", with ages old threats and taunts plastered against the wall, crudely drawn pictures of Slytherin symbols and what not, even what some idiot thought to be the snake alphabet. It wasn't hard to tell you were getting closer to the Slytherin back door to their common room, but it was only the Slytherin's that knew every single nook, cranny and trap set up in that corridor.

" I gotta admit, that was kinda fun." Lily said breathlessly, quite like Dominique had been earlier, but for a completely different reason.

" Yea.. Be careful, you almost walked in to Timothy Goyle's new dungbomb trap." Septimus said, pulling Lily closer to him and out of the way.

" Oh yea, thanks." Lily blushed the faintest pink.

The rest of the trip they found to be quiet, thankfully, and unhindered. " Oh by the way, thanks for not leaving me in the tower to get detention." Lily mumbled, before turning towards the green marble snake." Parseltongue Prince."

" Who in the world comes up with these passwords?" Septimus chuckled as they quickly sneaked in to the common room.

" Not me.." Lily said." Well, uh, night..."

Chapter Ten: Destiny

" No, this is a completely idiotic idea, I will not participate." Lily sighed, and Missy continued to make baby eyes at her." Mel, Jacob, tell Missy she is completely dense and this won't work."

" COME ON! It's bloody, freaking quidditch LIL!" Missy shrieked, getting glares from the working seventh years around her." Sorry!"

" I won't go!" Lily persisted.

"It's just one game Lils, you know, escaping from school work!" Jacob added on to her.

" It's against the rules." Lily hissed at him angrily.

" We got two extra tickets, come on Lily! Almost everyone is going!" Mel continued.

" Who is the other person your bringing?" Lily asked suspiciously.

" We were thinking Miles.." Missy trailed off.

" He loves quidditch and all, but tonight is 'study night' and if I talk to him he'll explode at me." Lily laughed quietly.

" So you'll come? And what about the other person?" Mel questioned excitedly.

" I guess, and maybe Septimus, he loves quidditch." Lily shrugged.

" How do you know that?" Jacob queried raising his eyebrows.

" He shows up to every practice, but doesn't try out, I'd bet he'd be good.. I think he wants to be a seeker and I've always had that." Lily mumbled to herself." Anyways, I'm dropping quidditch this year."

" WHAT! SLYTHERIN WILL LOSE!" Jacob looked ready to faint.

" So? I just want to sit and watch anyways, go ask Septimus already will you?" Lily said quickly, wondering why in the world she told these three all of the stuff about quidditch, she didn't even tell her family that, but that wasn't saying much.

" Er, okay.. It's gonna be the game of the century!" Missy shrieked jumping up and down and running off to go find Septimus.

" Is there something going on between you and Septimus? You two have been a lot less harsh towards each other this year." Mel asked in a soft tone.

" The year just started, and trust me, before you know it we'll be wanting to try and kill each other." Lily rapped out in response. Jacob raised his eyebrows and nodded." Well, um, I'll go get ready for the game tonight.. Is it going to be cold?"

" Probably not, besides, we got box seat tickets. We are gonna sit with the minister!" Mel cheered.

" The.. The minister is my uncle!! He's going to murder me!" Lily shrieked in a low tone.

" Well, we can hide you from him!" Jacob suggested, and Mel raised her eyebrows at him.

" Oh darn, I'll think of something as I finish my homework? Now, you two scat, I need to think." Mel announced and the other two left rolling their eyes in response.

" So Jacob, why haven't you asked Mel out yet?" Lily asked suddenly after they had left the library.

" I.. What are you talking about?" Jacob blanched, and Lily resisted the urge to laugh.

" You like her, she likes you, you two would be cute together." She persisted, and watched him fight back paling and blushing at the same time.

" How did you know? Did she tell you? And how did you know I like her?" Jacob finally turned a brilliant red making it harder on Lily to not laugh.

" I'm not stupid, I see things like that." Lily responded, before skipping off and whistling merrily to herself. She headed down towards the Slytherin dormitories and came across a slightly confused Septimus." What's up?" She couldn't help but ask.

" Um, this giggling person named Marissa, Wood, I think. Just asked me to go watch a quidditch game with her and her friends." He answered.

" Oh, I told them to ask you.. They had an extra ticket and wanted to know if I knew anyone that enjoyed quidditch." Lily nodded in understanding.

" Ah, well, I guess I'll go then.." Septimus smiled nervously and Lily replied with a large grin.

" Good, cause I'd go insane with them!" She laughed, and continued to skip away towards the dormitories.

*** The Quidditch Game

" Oh my gosh! GO PUDDLEMERE! They are so amazing now that my dad is their keeper!" Missy shrieked happily as Mel erupted in to laughter.

" Ha, Bulgaria will win, no doubt, Krum is still the best seeker in the whole world!" Jacob retorted.

" Krum? Bah! He's in his forties isn't he? He's to old to win." Missy snapped at him.

" He's still as agile as always." Jacob was glowering at Missy now.

" Oh shut up! Krum may or may not catch the snitch, and Missy your dad is just as old as Krum." Mel interrupted." I personally believe that Puddlemere's seeker is not experienced enough, or good enough."

" I think that who ever is gonna win is gonna win!" Lily put in grinning.

" I'm with Lily." Septimus chuckled and Lily smiled at him again.

" We should totally bet money on that!" Lily joked happily, the rest laughed and she joined in with them until someone tapped on her shoulder and she turned around surprised." Do I know you?"

" I knew your parents." The man said quietly." Your mum was a great friend of my brothers in school." He paused briefly." And if it is possible I would like to speak to you alone about your parents?" Lily knew that she shouldn't trust strangers, but it had to do with her parents, so she followed him after quickly excusing herself from the rest." My name is Dennis Creevey, you may have heard of me, may have not."

" I have, but what do you know about my parents?" Lily asked impatiently, she had some sort of hope building up in her chest.

" They are alive, and it is your destiny to find them.."

Fantastic chapters! I'm waiting for Septimus and Lily to just get it over with and kiss already! And what was with Creevey and that message? What does he know? How does he know? What's going on? And wouldn't Hermione or Ron had known or something? What is going on??

Chapter Eleven: Searching

"Is this some sort of sick hoax?" Lily gasped after fifteen seconds of silence between them, her eyes were bigger then golf balls as she stared at this Dennis Creevey person." My parents are dead, they.. They died in a car-crash with Mrs Davies."

"It is not a hoax, I swear on my life." Dennis croaked in response." My sincerest apologies, my throat has been sore recently. Anyway, I some how came across this cave that was strongly protected by wards, but I managed to hear some of the voices from in it and it strongly resembled your parents, I believe that they are prisoners of someone wanting revenge on something."

"Have you told anyone else?" Lily asked suddenly, alarmed, her hope that her parents were alive was growing rapidly inside of her chest. Dennis shook his head as his answer, Lily briefly nodded."Thank you, I guess, for this information." She said, sounding a bit broken."I.. I should.. I should get back to the rest, you know, so they don't worry." With out waiting for an answer she walked back over to the other four.

"Hey, you okay Potter-er, Lily, your a bit pale." Septimus queried with genuine worry, making Missy smirk and try not to crack up for some strange reason.

"Um, I'm fine.. I'm great!" Lily said honestly, she didn't really know how she was feeling, other then that there was this tiny speck of hope in her heart that felt ready to explode since it had heard the news from Dennis.

"You sure?" Septimus persisted, and Lily cocked an eyebrow at him, and he went a little red and turned back to the game.

"And yea, I'm sure, Septimus." Lily paused, she realized, she had never called him by his given name to his face before, it actually didn't seem to bad.

"THEY CAUGHT THE SNITCH! THEY CAUGHT IT!" Jacob started yelling at the top of his lungs, making Lily flinch.

"Shh! Calm down Jacob, my uncle is right over there." She hissed at him.

"Oh, yea.." Jacob mumbled, clearly embarrassed.

"Can we get back now? Someone is gonna notice we aren't at Hogwarts soon." Lily quickly told them, nodding in agreement all four of them went and flagged the Knight Bus and rode it until Hogsmeade, they then voyaged up towards Hogwarts."Uh guys, how are we getting back into Hogwarts?"

"Excellent question, I have no idea!" Missy laughed softly.

"Right, let's go back down to Hogsmeade, I know another way, I know a million ways actually." Lily nodded, curious they followed her, and she lead them into Honeydukes which was open for a few more minutes, but still stuffed, as fast as possible she darted in to the storage room and led them in to a hidden crawlspace."Lumos."

"Whoa! What is this place?" Mel asked softly.

"It's a secret passage-way, don't tell anybody about it." Lily responded as they took a sharp turn.

"Are there anymore that lead in to Hogwarts?" Jacob asked curiously.

"At least eight, one of them leads in to the Room of Requirement, another right next to the Whomping Willow. Not going to tell the entrances though." It was obvious Lily had stuck her tongue out at them.

"I did find the one for the Whomping Willow, I didn't know how many other people knew about that though, so I didn't really use it." Septimus spoke up.

"A lot of people, surprisingly, I believe that, Rose, Hugo, Albus, James and maybe Malfoy know about it." Lily nodded to herself."Not to mention our parents and what not."

"Why do you call him Malfoy, if he's dating your cousin?" It sounded as if Missy was ready to go on another tirade of questions.

"I don't like him, but he's good to Rose so I can't object." Lily answered nonchalantly.

"Why don't you like him?" Missy persisted.

"Because he's a Malfoy and Potter's are terribly prejudiced against Malfoy's, and Snape's as well, I guess." Lily finished in quite a bit lower tone then she had intended." And I guess it's the Weasley in me that hates Malfoy more then Sn-Septimus."

"But.." Missy stopped, realizing that she wasn't going to get anything else out of Lily that day.

The Slytherin went back to her common room after they had arrived at Hogwarts, she had already began making plans for where to start searching, and how...

Ooooh, is it the cave where the locket Horcrux was?? And who put them there???

I think she should tell her brothers and then they should tell Ron and Hermione and try to find them!
