Tricksy Hobbitses

The final battle is over, and in a strange twist of fate evil beat good and Voldemort won. Hogwarts isn't the same afterwards. Everybody must get a barcode tattoo now, stating their full background. Including blood status. It's the way to get food, get into the dorm and get around school safely. But certain students think there might be a twist to the story. A very harmful twist.

Enter the rebellion. A group of graduates and students who work together from the inside and out to find out the truth. They figured out a way to get the barcodes off. Now they just have to stop Voldemort.

Disclaimer: I do not own anything in this fiction. J.K Rowling owns all of the wonderful characters and the setting. I only own the plot that I'm putting them through.

It was dark throughout Hogwarts, only slivers of moonbeams shining through the windows. The corridors were guarded by two teachers each, who held wands at the ready like swords. They were responsible for the "well being" of the students, which generally meant keeping everyone out of their hair. Until tonight. Tonight, Ginny had a plan.

A fake mark on her pale wrist. That of a barcode. It meant nothing, but teachers never checked the actual barcode itself, just that you had one and that you called everyone by their proper names, Sir and Ma'am and all of that. The meticulous lines that she had Hermione do not thirty minutes ago. It would all come down to this.

With a deep breath Ginny walked into the hallway, where she was immediately stopped by the guards.

"Hey! Show the code!" She feigned being scared at the teacher catching her, though did what she was told. As Ginny rolled up the right sleeve of her robe, she looked in amazement at the line work. Hermione had done a really nice job! She realized that she was breathing too quickly at the thought of being caught and slowed herself down. It would not help to be suspicious.

"Hello, sir. I just left something important in a classroom and I came to get it." Ginny hoped her voice sounded plain and normal. So far it seemed to work.

"Hurry up and grab it and get back to bed! You should know the rules!" Ginny breathed a sigh of relief as the man released her wrist. She quickly thanked the tired teachers in her mind and gave a small salute.

"Thank you sir."

Truth is, she hadn't lost anything, but she was going to the meeting place. After they lost the battle, the room of requirment was converted into a room for the resistance to hide out and plan. That's where she was going tonight. They were planning on recruiting first years. They wanted at least two kids from every year in on this. There was comfort in numbers.

Here's chapter two! Sorry for the long wait!

Ginny leaned against the stone wall of the next corridor and allowed herself to breathe heavily to make up for the lack of breath earlier. She had passed. Ginny had actually passed! That was the amazing part. She would have to thank Hermione later. Because the older girl had just saved her butt. Looking down and squinting her blue eyes, the red haired girl inspected her arm to see if the mark had faded. It had not. Even though the redhead felt like she was completely filled with sweat, she had the falsified design compeltely as it was before. And then somehow, her thoughts went right to the trials
~Flashback~

The day was cold, and Ginny only remembered that because her father made her take a coat. The trials were held in the same place where Harry had awaited his expulsion in his fifth year, though the room looked somehow more terrifying than it did when he explained it to them after the fact. It felt more real, more sinister, like something could actually happen while they were there instead of it being a far off place.

The actual trial was held by those further up in the ranks of the Death Eaters, which meant that none of the Order had a chance from the start. And they all knew this. She was the youngest one there. As the smaller girl looked over, she saw what degrees of worry everybody else was in.

Ron looked furious, like he wanted to break the chains they had substitued for handcuffs and pummel somebody. Hermione looked rather close to tears, which only made Ginny's heart race more. George just looked upset. For Fred or the fact that he might be next was uncertain. Neville was holding his own better than the rest, a stern look on his face. And Luna -as always- looked like she didn't know where she was.

The trial started with them questioning Hermione, who answered with a fib more than once. Lucius Malfoy was the one questioning her, and as Ginny recalled, he stared at the arm with the mark more than once. This made Hermione close her fist around the sleeve, though she made no other movements to signal that she was uncomfortable. Her voice was shaking, though it still had fits of calmness as if the brown haired girl was trying to convince them everything was fine. It obviously wasn't.

Ron was up next and his voice was more angry than she'd ever heard it. He backed up Hermione's lie and added more information. This was normal for the circumstance. The group all concocted a lie to start with so they looked semi-innocent. Because they were afraid guilty would equal a Dementors kiss.

The trial was a slow and arduous process, full of jeering from people who accepted the Death Eaters side as correct. The room seemed to close in when she was taking the stand, making those who jeered seem even closer. Her blue eyes were staring at the person questioning her, and nothing else. She was afraid that if she'd look at something else, the girl would start crying. Crying would only lead to harsher questions, which would betray the group

In the end, they were pronounced guilty and sentenced to Azkaban for life for crimes against the new Government. But thanks to a few fudging of records by Arthur and Hermione, they managed to get back into Hogwarts to try and figure out how to stop this thing. That itself was a process that took a few days of hard waiting and terror.

~End flashback~

Ginny realized she had been waiting for too long to go. Peeking around the corner, she saw another guard. The excuse might not work this time. You could never tell with these sentries. The smallest Weasley took her wand out of her pocket and stepped into the corridor, licking her lips with anticipation.

"Hey!" The guard started running towards her. The redhead practically dug her feet into the ground.

"Stupify!" The guard fell with a thud. The female looked for an empty classroom and quickly used a spell to open the door. With a lot of strength she didn't know she had, the teen pulled the guard into the closet and then locked the door behind her.

Running away quickly, it wasn't long before she made it to the Room of Requirment. Saying the password, she watched as the door swung open and she was granted acsess to her friends.

Many students were sitting on cots or at tables. Some played cards and other read. Some talked and others stressed about homework. If she didn't know any better, Ginny would guess this was a study hall. But it was the meeting room. And when Ron saw his little sister, he cleared his throat to start the meeting. Ginny sat on a bed next to one of her friends and listened in.

"So, as you know we always start off our meetings with news from the outside." By this, he means George. He, Oliver Wood and Lee Jordan (who chose not to complete the last year) travel about England and continue the radio cast that George used to do with his brother. Along with Arthur and Molly, they fed the teens information about life outside.

"And I wish I had better information." Ron continued. "More and more Ministry members are being sentenced to Azkaban. More and more Muggleborn families are being persecuted. And more students see no choice but to join the Youth League of Death Eaters. I'm actually going to open the floor to Lavender, who joined the league as a spy. Lavender?" She stepped up with a piece of parchment in her hands and skimmed over it quickly.

"This week, the league made it their mission to spread the word about Muggle borns and blood traitors." Some students rolled their eyes and others coughed uncomfortably. Those two words meant death now and didn't match up with her naturally cheery voice at all. "Sorry about that. They said something meaner that I won't reiterate. Anyway, they've started giving out these pamphlets around school to anyone who'll take them."

Ginny's eyes scanned the pamphlets the blonde now held up. They were both written in ugly font that seemed to emphasise the not-danger. The picture were that of a comically bad looking blood-traitor, who was whispering secrets behind two Death Eaters backs. And the other was one with a Muggle born cartoon who looked like they were in the middle of transforming into a donkey. Hermione seemed rather abashed at this, but made no words or regards to these emotions and instead just sat on the cot next to Ron.

"If you see these around, take them and use a spell on them to destroy any evidence. My favorites are Incendio and Diffindo." And with that, Lavender sat down.

The meeting carried on and on about helping the Muggleborns get to classes safely and what to do if someone tried to use a spell on you. That kind of thing wasn't stopped anymore, escpecially if it was to be used on the former Order members. Protection was key, especially for younger members who might not know what to do. Eventually, they turned off the lights and everyone fell into a deep sleep.

It was a general rule that everyone would sleep in the room on meeting nights. Having several students going to their common rooms at once would be too risky, and no one wanted to make a plan of what students got to go when. Besides, these meeting dragged on a while. Students didn't want to be running to their common room after sitting through a three hour meeting.

LE TIME CUT

It was morning way too fast in Ginny's opinion. But still morning meant classes, and so the students got up and made their way out of the room and into the hallway in groups. They dusted off their uniforms and tried to blend in. Some came out with smiles on their faces and other came out looking like they were late to class. The room of Requirement didn't lead into a main corridor, so they ran up the side ones and peaked out like spies. The students who were sent to help rebuild Hogwarts led the others down passages that only they knew, trying to keep everyone safe. And Ginny remembered it all.

~Flashback~
It was about a summer ago. But they still had Hogwarts. Because Hogwarts Summer school wasn't about Charms or Potions, it was about cleaning up the mess that was made in the final Battle of Hogwarts.
Wands were used only under strict supervision of what the Death Eaters called "Peacemakers." They made sure only levitating and fastening spells were used. Basically, bad things happened to you if you used anything else. Ginny saw it happen to two people.

The group worked day and another worked night, using Broomsticks (under careful supervision) to put Hogwarts back together. It took forever. Everyday of summer was spent working on the castle, cleaning up ash and using pieces of wood and stone together. That was the hardest part and required the most workers. Construction.

Secretly, the group did things a little differently. Certain rooms that were supposed to enter into main hallways now entered into side hallways that didn't make sense for being there. Some kids left momentos in the castle walls. It was like their little rebellion before the rebellion officially started. It was as subtle as possible but still meant so much. Ginny remembered her friend leaving a special locket that was charmed behind one of the bricks.

~End Flashback~

It was at her third hour when she noticed the kid staring at her. It was a Hufflepuff, who was obviously not on their side. He dropped a pamplet on the stone floor and glared at her. The redhead looked down at the ground. It was a blood traitor pamplet. She simply walked away and tried to put it past her. This had been happening a lot lately, the glares and the stares from normal everyday students. It made her feel abnormal, though there was nothing she could honestly do about it.
