Chapter 26: OWWW!!!!!
When I woke up I had no idea where I was which is never a good thing.
“Jess, how are you feeling?” Harry leaned over my hospital bed. He had bags under his eyes, and the sun was just rising over the horizon.
“Good, I guess. Have I been out all day and night?” I asked. I tried to lean up, but a sharp pain ran up my spine.
“Don’t try it,” Harry warned. “You have two cracked ribs, and a concussion,”
“That’s all?” I asked sarcastically. His tiny smile disappeared, “I’m just kidding,”
“Good, Madam Pomfrey says that you should take it easy. So be careful, get some rest, and quit getting into fights,” He sat down on the bed, and brushed my hair out of my eyes. “Are you feeling ok?” he asked solemnly.
“Never better,” I answered. I pushed the covers off my legs and leaped out of the bed. “What to get some breakfast?” I asked him. I grabbed my shoes, and was nearly out the door by the time Harry caught on.
“Wait! How the hell are you ok?!?” he screamed. Harry reached down and retrieved my stuff from under the hospital bed. I turned away from the door to face him.
“I’ve actually died and been reborn on a number of different occasions, Harry. A fist fight is not one of my biggest horror stories,” I answered him.
“That makes…. sense,” he joked.
“We are so related,”

Chapter 27: Guess who's coming to town
Harry and I climbed the stairs to get back up to the Gryffindor common room. My legs seemed to be filled with lead as i tried to keep a smile on my face, if only for Harry's sake.

We heard scream coming from behind the Fat Lady. Harry turned to me and I made myself drag my lead legs a little bit faster. "Oh my god!" I heard Marianna squeal. The portrait swung open to show the entire Gryffindor house was pushing and shoving to look at a IGNORAMUS color changing sign.

"Hey!" Harry yelled. The mob looked at him with a combination of admiration, respect, and oh-boy-what-now looks. "What's going on?" he pushed through the crowd and i just followed behind.

"Bauxboons and Durmstrang," Dean said, "They're coming," The notice board was completely covered by the announcement. "They aren't coming for the Triwizard Tournament, are they Harry?"

The crowd murmured in agreement. I saw how everyone remembered the pain of loosing Cedric. "No one would dare!" Hermione assured everyone. She began to shoo the younger students out and to their classrooms.

"Jess," Marianna called out to me. She and Ceria were standing next to the exit. They had their bags and were carrying the homework i had missed.

"I'm coming," Harry and Ron may not be on speaking terms with each other, but i think that all their good times out number the bad. "Let's go," i took the first step out of the portrait hole, and with that i knew how it was to be a normal. Well, a normal Potter.

Chapter 28: Why Can't People Just Spit It Out

"Guess who's being all smily," Ceria whispered across the table. The three of us were done with classes for the day, and the library was packed.

"Moaning Myrtle," i guessed. Marianna giggled behind a book purely about Beauxbatons. I had already told them all that Harry had told me about the two visiting schools, but petite little Marianna insisted about reading a book bigger than her.

"Good guess," at first i thought she was kidding but she pointed her finger over her shoulder.

"The ferret!" i exclaimed much louder than necessary to show my surprise, but i think i should have been louder. There he was; blonde haired, intense eyes, strong muscles..... and he was grinning ear to ear!

"Yeah, him!" her clarification reached all the way to some goons in the back. The boulders jumped up, and nearly sprinted over here.

Their shadows stretched across our table. "Why are there pillars standing behind me?" Marianna said in a monotone without even looking up from her book.

"Why are three talked about Malfoy?" Crabbe and Goyle asked. Their hushed whispers told me that i really wanted to know what they were talking about.

"Why do you think?" i am so bluffing, but please don't let them know! Please let them be as thick as Harry told!

"You aren't tricking us," Crabbe laughed. "All I know is that he hasn't been talking to anyone since he heard that the Beauxbatons girls were coming," his dark tone had all of us on the edge of our seats.

"Get away from here goons!" Ron yelled much to the studiers displeasure. The two boulders ran back to their seats with their tails between their legs. He took a seat next to me, "I need to talk to you Jess," he looked at Ceria and Marianna questingly.

"Yes?" the three of us asked together.

"It's serious," his voice quivered, "It's about Harry,"

So yeah i finally posted in a normal time span! Also misreading something that is spelled wrong is kind of normal and Lauren I'm so happy i made your day

Chapter 29: Oh No He Didn't

"You think he did WHAT?!?!" Marianna and Ceria screamed at me. We were waiting outside of the charms classroom and i had just finished telling them what Ron and talked to me about.

"I don't think he did. Ron thinks he did," I correct. The painting were slowly getting madder and madder since the hallway was empty and some of them were trying to get some shut eye. The three of us were just coming back from a free period so classes were still going on.

"How could anyone be so thick as to say that?" Ceria asked. It was true what Ron had talked to me about was stupid and illogical, but i was still curious.

"Boys are idiots," Marianna said. I leaned onto the door just when someone began pushing on it from the other side.

"Oh sorry," i mumbled out. Professor Flitwick peered his head up to see us.

"It's quite alright girls. We were done and so you can come in before your class starts," His squeaky voice must have brought sweet relief to the REALLY tired portraits.

We quickly hurried into the buzzing classroom. "Jess," Harry called from across the room. "What are you doing here?"

"We're waiting for our class. I didn't know you had charms now," we walked over to where Hermione and Neville were sitting.

"Where's Ron?" Marianna asked as she pulled up a seat next near the window.

"He's still not really talking to any of us," Harry admitted. My friends and I shared a guilty glance. We settled into an awkward silence, as I saw Ceria contemplating telling them about my conversation with Ron. I shook my head no but i don't think she would listen.

"He's mad at you guys because he thinks that Harry and Hermione..." Marianna blurted out but a loud screech drowned out the rest of her confession.

"Bloody hawk," we heard Malfoy mumble as he went to open the window for it. The bird was bright red, really unnaturally blood red. "Is that a?" he asked as he reached for the matching red envelope.

"You got a howler!" Hermione cupped her hand over her mouth to cover up the giggles that followed.

"Who would send me a howler?" he asked innocently. He pulled the window shut, trapping the angry bird inside.

"Your parents, probably," Ron jeered, he was hiding in the very back of the room.

"Yeah," Malfoy tossed the letter onto the desk he was sitting at, "Like my parents send me mail," his face dropped as the letter grew teeth, and opened its mouth.

"AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" it screamed in pain. It was the voice of a young girl, and it was clear she was being tortured. "HEEEPPPLLL!!!! ME Draco, PLEASEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" we all heard the girl thrashing, and we all saw Draco's face as it morphed into a face of someone being tortured (he was probably being tortured by it).

"Well darling, you still think you're free to act as you please. I'm sure she wishes that you had done what you were told. You used to follow the rules so well," a woman hissed. Draco flew out of his seat, his eyes teeming with tears. "How dare you forget her!" she accused.

"Don't let her bait you Drakey," the girls breaths came in harsh gasps. "Live... AHHHHHH!!!!!" the howler tore itself up before the screaming stopped. Malfoy was pacing across the room. He lifted an antique globe off its perch and hurled it at the wall with all of his strength. The globe shattered, and all of us were speechless.

"Who was that?" Harry asked calmly. He was still sitting next to me, grinding his teeth. "Who was that?"

"I don't know some Death Eater," Malfoy answered. He stopped pacing at looked right at me. "That fight, thats the reason they're did that to her. I broke the rules," he began pacing again, but came back to the same spot. "They accuse me of not thinking about her, but the reason i stood up for you was because you reminded me of her. She's about your age," he told me.

"Who is she?" Harry asked with a monotone but i knew he was absolutely screaming inside.

Malfoy ran his fingers through his hair and let out another tear,"She's my sister,"

Chapter 30: I think he might kill someone...for real this time

The blood red hawk scratched the glass of the window, and the rest of us were silent. "Is that why you helped Jess?" Harry asked calmly. He stood up from his seat, and walked slowly towards Draco. Draco looked like he was being torn apart at the seems.

"Yeah," he admitted, "You just reminded me of her for a second," he directed towards me. "I thought they wouldn't hurt her anymore. I thought the rules were dead just like Voldemort!"

He was really starting to panic. "What rules?" Hermione stunned the screaming hawk.

"The rules they set in place when they took her,"

"Who took her?" Lavender asked. Everyone in here was now completely sympathetic to Draco.

"Who do you think!" Dean exclaimed, "Death Eaters," Draco nodded. The hallway began filling with noise and Ron walked out there to yell at everyone.

"Get to your common rooms NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"We should tell the Ministry,"
"We should go fight them,"
"We need to see who else was taken,"

"Shut up!" Harry screamed. "Where do you think she is?" he asked through clenched teeth. Draco shook his head and started pacing.

"I don't know. The only time i have contact with her is when i mess up, and she gets hurt," Draco rolled the stunned hawk onto its side. "But before they had her learn French, and I'm sure they would send her to school,"

"Whats her name?" Marianna asked.

"I really don't think thats relevant," Hermione shushed her.

"Alexandra," Draco answered her anyway. "She's not that much older than you,"

"So you think she's at Beauxbatons," Harry paraphrased. "We have to tell the Headmistress,"

"If Reed is anything like Umbridge there's no point in wasting our breath," Dean the "optimistic" one pointed out.

"We have a tortured girl, she has to listen," Draco continued inspecting the hawk. The feathers began to ruffle.

"She's smart though," Draco pulled a once invisible envelop off the bird. "She knows I'm here, and she's got a ride," the brilliant blue envelop held the Beauxbatons crest and a series of numbers ticking down.

Chapter 31: Wasting our Breath

(Draco's POV)

Flitwick grabbed my arm and dragged me out into the corridor and towards the Headmaster's office. Potter was following behind us, and his sister behind him.

"Potter, get back to the classroom!" The hallways were deserted, but I could here the other students and teachers hidden behind every locked door.

"Sorry Professor but no. We should take him to the Ministry," He ordered. The summer he had spent as an Auror had gone to his head (not that his ego was small to begin with).

"Where do you think we're going, boy. The Headmistress's is the only class room not being watched by the Ministry. I do NOT wish to cause a panic,"

"Oh," the kid took Potter's hand firmly and marched down the hallways with him stunned at her side. I knew he remembered that this was a little bit too much like what Umbridge did. "To the Ministry then,"


Jess's POV

The Ministry was less busy than it had been when i first saw it. The workers now just passed us by, although they all did get off the lift for us. I figure they knew that this was a priority by the prune-ish look on Harry's and Flitwick's expressions, and also the fact the the little professor was still dragging Draco by his arm.

"This way," a strange Ministry personnel appeared right when we got off the lift and saw us to the largest office I've ever seen. "He will be here shortly," then the spooky witch was gone.

"Who'll be here?" Harry asked. He then, gently, pushed me into one of the few plush armchairs in the back of the room. Harry then took a seat next to me.

"The head of Magical Law Enforcement or will it be International Affairs," Draco snapped. He flopped down onto the hard wicker seat right next to the desk.

"How do you know that?...oh never mind," Flitwick pronounced when suddenly the door banged open. A surly man in a trench coat and tattoos slammed the door behind him.

"You and you, out," he pointed a twisted, broken finger at Flitwick and I. We both quickly walked/ran out the iron door.

Aww...why don't i expect this to end well?

Chapter 32: Follow the rules

Harry's POV

The man who had walked in was Mr. Van Valnor, dictator of the Department of International Affairs. He had the demeanor of an executioner, and was known staying away from the media.

"Pray tell, why is it that i am called out of my lunch break to discuss matters of some missing girl?" he barked at Malfoy, seemingly ignoring me.

"Bring it up with someone else," Malfoy nearly threatened, and i had to be impressed by his courage. While i was working here i had never had the nerve to even be in the same room as him; i even went to the lengths of donning my invisibility cloak just to avoid walking past his office.

"No I'm going to bring it up with you," Mr. Valnor walked calmly behind his desk and allowed his expression to change to one with genuine concern," How long has...." he looked at me for the first time.

"Alexandra"

"Alexandra been missing?" the hostile man's gruff voice reminded me of Mad-eyes. His piercing eyes scoped out a now silent Malfoy, "What? Will talking to us bring her harm?"

"yes" Malfoy held out the "s" like a snake as he returned Mr. Valnor's stare.

"How do you know?"

"Because they knew before," his frustrated tone told us that there was a lot of her pain on his conscience. "Every time i break the rules, they hurt her. And every time they let me know it,"

"Alright, so we have to free her before they find out," the clock ticked out the seconds that Mr. Valnor waited to let that sink in. "What are the rules, Draco?"

Mafloy looked him in the eye, pure rage was almost steaming off of him,"I follow ever order given to me. I express the opinions that i am told to have. If i disappoint or disobey, they punish her. I can't tell anyone about her, and the only contact i have to her is through them. And even then they don't let me see her,"

"They are...?"

"Death eaters too low on the food chain to have any other purposes. Thugs that can be bought to do anything. I've never seen them, and i only have a clue where she is," Malfoy was basically explaining his entire reason for his behavior, and in doing so he his entrusting her life to us. Wow, desperation can make a person take a lot of risks.

"Whats the clue?" i asked before i had even thought of what to say.

"Before they took her, our family," he scoffed at the word that should have had true meaning," started enforcing new rules. She was never to leave the house, and no one was to even mention her to outsiders. As i would pack for my first year of Hogwarts they had her pack as well. We were so young we thought it was a game. She even thought she would be coming with me. Then they started teaching us different things; the unforgivable curse for torture and they showed it to us on some of the house elves. We started learning French," Malfoy looked back at me as if that was the most important inside joke.

"Is that why you 'changed' when you heard Beauxbatons was coming?" I asked as it all was starting to come together.

"She would have started already," he nearly whispered.

"When did you last talk to her?" Mr. Valnor brought us back to the matter at hand.

"Two years ago," Malfoy looked down at his shoes, ashamed. A light-bulb metaphorically flicked on for me.

"When they asked you too.....when Dumbledore.....?" i let my question trail off.

"They let me talk to her one last time before they asked me to. They told me... I thought that if i succeeded she could come home," tears fell into his lap.

"Have you talked to her since?"

"Nope, she's just a kid. What if its all my fault?" he turned back to look at me. I had judged him for years, and he at-least acted like he deserved it. I tried to imagine if someone took Jess, if her life rested on my shoulders. i would act like a complete sWeArInG too.

"Its not your fault, its theirs,"


I am so so so so so so SO sorry that it took this long for me to post again. I hadn't intended for Malfoy to have a sister (i was going to make it a different thread) but once i put it in i couldn't change it so it kinda threw me off course. That and the fact i have had so much to do (i apologize for this over used excuse). Also i will probably try to separate the two different story-lines (Jess and Harry & Alexandra and Draco) once i have whats going on with Alexandra and Draco established. I am shocked that you have read ALL of this so thanks, and hopefully i'll post more soon.

Chapter 33: Oh where oh where has my...brother...gone?
Transphiguration class was not going well. The normal ‘OH MY GOSH THIS IS AMAZING TEACH IT TO ME NOW’ feeling was gone or at least absent along with Harry and Draco. Professor McGonagall was telling one of her interesting lectures, but instead I was waiting for Marianna to finish writing her note.


Jess, are you sure that Harry and Draco aren’t back yet?

I flipped her note over and began to scribble furiously.

Marianna, Professor Flitwick nearly dragged me away BECAUSE they weren’t coming back soon. I’m worried…

“Miss Potter?” a voice asked behind me, but I wasn’t paying attention so I didn’t look up.
“OWW!!” a sharp claw dug into my back. I turned around and on the desk was a cat, “Professor McGonagall?” I asked fearful of the answer. The gray tabby cat leaped off the desk and in place of a swishing tail was her swirling robes.
“Is this the only way I can get your attention?”
“No Professor,” I squeaked, completely aware that kids were suppressing the urge to laugh.
“Good,” she turned away and the bell to change classes clanged. The students rushed to head to lunch, but I took my time placing my books in alphabetical order.
“Professor,” I approached her desk with the utmost caution, “I wanted to apologize for—“
“Jess,” she set down her spectacles and looked up at me, “You know that you’re the best student with the most raw talent I’ve ever seen,” a stupid grin spread across my face. “I know that you were preoccupied because of the…. incident and I’m not mad,” she assured me, “However since I don’t want you to have this conversation repeated in Potions you should know that your brother arrived back at Hogwarts,” she pulled a pen out of her drawer and began to write, “You now have permission to go see him,” she handed me the slip, “The quittage grounds are open to captains,”

Chapter 34: How thick could you get?

Warning there are some slight inappropriate actions suggested in this chapter. Don't read if you can't handle it.


Once i was out of Transfiguration classroom I broke into a run. I shoved my way past kids who were heading to lunch. Wait a second. I turned and walked with the crowd, completely dumbfounded. Lunch is the other way.

The mass of students became larger and larger as i pushed through. In the center of this mob was a shouting match. "Ceria," i whispered as i managed to find my way into the most inner ring of people watching other people's problems. "Whats going on?" i asked in the quietest of whispers.

"No idea," Ceria continued to stare at the spectacle. There, in the middle of the Charms corridor was Ron and Hermione.

"Ronald!" Hermione squeaked in her high voice she uses when she's angry,"What are you talking about?"

"Don't play stupid with me!" The long hallways caused this fighting match to echo so that even those not wishing to hear were forced to. "After all this time you, the last person I would have suspected,...I can't believe you!!!" Ron stood towering over Hermione. His shirt was wrinkled and there were dark bags under his eyes.

"I didn't do you anything," Hermione was shaken and on the verge of tears.

"Oh sure you didn't do anything, but you did someone!" Ron bellowed out. The crowd held its breath. The silence became almost too painful to bear.

"W h a t?" Hermione asked. Her brown eyes held unimaginable fury. "You mislead, unintelligent, stupid sWeArInG. How dare you say something like that!!"

"Oh yeah, I know. I'm stupid. I'm a jerk," he pointed his finger at Hermione, "Well you're a---" he didn't finish that sentence. Hermione had slapped her palm across his cheek leaving a bright red burn. They both stood there stunned.

I looked at Ceria next to me and at Marianna a few rows back. We all knew what they had been fighting about.

I stepped toward Hermione and Ron and I turned to face the crowd,"All of you clear OUT!!" i ordered at the top of my lungs. The mob then followed each other in an orderly fashion down the stairs to the Great Hall.

Ron took one last look behind him. His eyes showed that he may have already been regretting his actions. He just put his fingers to his now bruising cheek, and kept walking.

I went and faced Hermione. A single tear rolling down her face, and she looked me in the eyes. Before she ran into a deserted classroom.

I now stood in the corridor alone. Down in the Great Hall every student and faculty member must be whispering and gossiping. There was still one person who was completely oblivious.

I shrunk down and i felt long feathers rustling on my skin. My talons clinked on the marble floor, and I began to pump my wings. The air rushed past me as I flew to Harry.

Chapter 35: PANIC ATTACK!!!!!

I flew through hallways and out of a large stqained glass window. Once outside i veered towards the large stadium my brother was so fond of. A blob of gold and red on a broomstick breezed past me. I turned on a dime and raced it.

"Jess," Harry landed onto the freshly mowed grass, "Is that you?" I landedon his shoulder and then tranformed back into a human.

"How many phoenixes do you know?" He simply plucked me off of him and then set me onto his hovering firebolt.

"Funny," he removed his goggles, "Is there something you need?" I stared down at my shoes and rocked back and forth.

"There's something I need to tell you before someone else does,"

"Go on," i looked up at him. There were a number of lies I could have told him, but this was a rare chance. We were barely ever alone. I mustered up as much courage as I could.

"Promise you won't leave the stadium until I'm finished explaining,"

"I promise," he answered.

"You're going to break it anyways, but thanks," I held tight to his firebolt and sucked in a deep breath.

"I won't---,"

"Ron thinks you and Hermione are cheating!" I blurted out, so much for subtle. Harry just stood there shaking with anger. "I don't know why, and I know it's not true. However Ron doesn't," i pleaded.

"We're his best friends," he stared passed me.

"I know,"I took his hand and tried to lead him back to the locker room, "Eventually he'll get it," Harry stayed silent and managed to follow me until the doors.

"Ginny," he whispered. I groaned aloud.

"What about Ginny?" I asked as I gripped tighter and tighter to Harry's arm.

"What if she believes Ron?!?!" he took off sprinting towards the school, taking me along for the ride.
