[/end of drama] seriously though...I still have two more years befor I finally go back home...though we'll just be visiting, but I'm happy to get to go back...

Now, I know I said I'd give you some more updates, but I'm not fully sure what to talk about.
My lectures are still fairly tolerable, with one exception: Introduction to Philology, it's excruciatingly dry and boring. I've already begun drawing pictures and comics in that lecture, I'll worry about the exams later I guess :/

The city itself is certainly not making me feel at all welcome. Looking for flats here is a major undertaking, and it's pretty much impossible to find acceptable apartments in both price range and room. So I'm still living at my father's place which is a really nice flat and suburb (see those last two images above), and I know it's not bothering him or anything, but I'm starting to feel like I'm somehow interrupting his life. So, I'm not feeling too well about that, but there's nothing I can do really...
The second big spot of, as they say, bother: The weather. Obviously, living here in Northern Germany, the climatic conditions are very different from those of Trier, but it seems to me that it's either freezing cold (I'm extremely susceptible to low temperatures t_t) with the wind biting through your clothes, no matter how many layers of them you have put on, or raining without pause. Rain, I usually don't mind so much (November child, once again - btw, it's my birthday in two weeks *cough* *cough*), but dancing around puddles when I'm moving to different buildings in-between lectures is another story - especially if I have to carry books, my bag, and my notebook around, which of course mustn't get wet for obvious reasons - it's going to blow itself up or something, or give me an electric shock that's going to off me.

So, that's that for now.
Hope I'm not bothering you with my stories/rants and that your lives are as good and eventful (or, hopefully, much better) as my own is shaping up to be.

Yes, she is the girl from ASOUE. She didn't do so well as the character Violet Baudelaire...Oh, who am I kidding? she was horrible and the movie was horrible. It wasn't as good as the books. I haven't read those books, I am about to read LotR, or the Hobbit or whatever because like Harry Potter, they "Called to me" of the book shelves in the Library, only Harry Potter was a little more pacific... Anyway i am rambling on...
I just finished reading "The People of Sparks" The sequel to the "City of Ember". You should probably read them, they are pretty good. I also just finished reading "Northern lights" Which was okay, but i had really high expectations of it, and they didn't meet up with it.

I realise I'm committing a major sacrilege right now, but I didn't think LotR was such a good read. (But since I've always struggled against the establishment, I can't help it I suppose.)
To me, the whole Lord of the Rings, you know, the plot, the characters, the events - everything seemed to exist merely so that this professor in linguistics could invent some weird languages and have people recite poems about love-sick fantasy creatures in those languages. It just wasn't what I would call "a good book". Or trilogy or whatever, if you want to put a finer point to it. The Hobbit was decent, but LotR was a pain for me... I read through the Fellowship (liked it, was also the best film in my opinion), but stopped half-way through The Two Towers and merely skimmed Return of the King.
Maybe you are much more sophisticated though, Isabelle, and manage to get more out of it than I did.

So I'm signing out for the weekend I guess

mm yes, i know what you mean Phil, I hate not finishing books, but i hate it when you only read 100 pages of a crap book and then you realize, you have 400 more to go...
Thats the good thing about Harry Potter, 1. You hate it when you realize you only have 400 more pages, 2. Its not crap at all, and 3. You can never believe you've actually read 100 pages in the space of 20 minutes!

Wednesday:yeah the movie did stink! I mean, they stuck 3 books together and the wedding was suppose to happen first before the reptile room and the wide window! I've read all of them and I so love the books! Lemony Snicket is such an amazing author! I went to his website and I find it a bit strange he doesn't show his face, and I'm a bit curious about this 'Beatrice' in his life...I want to read the Beatrice letters, maybe find out what is really up...

^Have you figured out who Beatrice is? I did. After I read the 13th book, I didn't get the ending, until I put two and two together. I have to admit, the identity of Beatrice was shocking. But sadly I didn't like the 13th book. I thought it was tedious and I expected a great book. Like, I wanted an exciting plot...I'm glad the Bauldelaires are okay, but I just didn't like the book. They should make a remake of the movie. I heard they originally wanted Tim Burton to direct it, Johnny Depp to play the bad guy, and Helena Boham Carter to play Justice Strauss...but for some reason, Tim Burton dropped out on the project. It would've been a great film if he directed it.
