How much influence do you think that Luna will have in the war against Voldemort and his Death Eaters? Will she be fighting on the front lines with Harry, Ron and Hermione? or will she take up a different role, aiding the fight? Do you think it is possible that if the worst happens, she could die fighting? What do you think?

hmm Luna's already gone upfront in the battles and having a few injuries along the way wouldn't make much of a difference. I think she'll be fighting with the best of them and be right there with Ginny, Hermione, Ron and Neville. We all know Harry's going to have to fight Volide alone but they'll be right with him until that bit and Luna's going to be part of the group.

I think that luna will be fighting with Hermione, Ron, Harry, Ginny, and possibly Neville. She will be injured, but like she usually does in the books. I don't think she'll die. I hope she doesn't die. She'll be one of the many telling Harry's story.

Final battle will be all the Goods including Luna versus all the Evils with Harry and Voldie going mano a mano.
Before that will be the Horcrux Hunt. I expect the Trio to solve one on mtheir own, Ginny helps with one, luna helps with another and all the Sextet destroy the last.

Luna will definately be in there for the final battle I think. She's clever and full of information. I think she will be key in finding the hidden horcruxes and she will take part in that battle in the end. I hope she stays alive thats for sure.  | |

I imagine Luna fighting in the very front. She's a risk taker, even if it's risking her life. I wouldn't be surprised if Luna figures out the final Horcrux or sees the one way for them to win. She looks at everything so differently that she has to see something the others don't.

I think Luna will be involved in the war, because of the nature of war even in literature minor characters get caught up in the action. I don't know if she'll have a major important or pivotal fight scene or something but much like when she was in the Department of Mysteries she will be there to fight I think.
Luna isn't a major character but even the minor characters get mentioned and we know things about them so I think its going to be a pretty safe bet she'll fight in the final battle or in the war at some point ... the question still remains, WILL HOGWARTS OPEN? I think so yes, Harry has to talk to Dumbledore's portrait no? As a kind of way to say goodbye ... *sniffles*
I know Luna won't go with them to find the horcruxes, but Luna will still play an important part, the way she did in HBP. | |

actually I'm going to contradict myself and agree with Ottery Everyone will be involved in the war, coz it affects everyone! and wasn't Luna's mother killed... but by who? could have been killed by a Death eater or something, in which case she would want to fight the Death Eaters

Actually I'm going to contradict myself and agree with Wendy's first post, Luna's really not that important so ...  
Just kidding Wendy.  I do think Luna will fight in the war, and now that you mention it, we really don't know how Luna's mother died. I don't know that it was Death Eaters, but it would be interesting to find out in the books. If anyone ever meets Jo please ask her.
That said, Luna and Neville where the only two from the DA who fought in HBP so I think that's a sure sign that even if EVERYONE doesn't get a mention in the war they two likely will. | |

contradiction is evidently a complicated business... Neville and Luna were some of the most hardworking people in the DA, and of course they missed it the most! So they'll fight as hard as they can! Maybe the next discussion should be about what happens to Luna's mum...

I don't think that Luna looks like a threat to the deatheaters, but hopefully she'll prove them wrong. I sure hope she's in the front line with Harry. The thing about Luna is that while she doesn't look like much of a threat to those that don't know her, she seemed to surprise many. I do recall her holding her own against the Death Eaters in the Dept. of Mysteries in OotP and Hogwarts in HBP. I think that's what's so special about her, the fact that there's so much more to her than radish earrings and nargle obsessions. She's still powerful and bright, just eccentric...which is why I like her so much!
