LLFC Discussion Topic #1: Luna and Neville

What do you think about the relationship between Luna and Neville?
Are they simply close friends who value each others company or perhaps there is more than just frienship between these two.
Is Neville bold enough to love Luna's quirky and extroverted personality or is Luna's head too far in the quibbler to love Neville's quiet personality?
Is a relationship between these two quite different people going to work and would their connection made during the DA meetings and fighting in the ministry going to become stronger?
Maybe you think Luna/Neville is a bad ship and would like to discuss the reasons why you are of that opinion?
We now know that Neville and Luna never got together but what do you think about what would have happened if they did?
So... Let the first LLFC discussion topic begin!

I would love to see Luna and Neville get together, but I don't think they will. There are already so many relationships going on in HP that I think this ship will not be included in the love parade. You've already got the Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione ships and another one in the mix is a little bit to As You Like It (A Shakespere play where everyone gets married). I don't think Jo will have them get together, but I wuld love to see it happen anyway.

yeah I see what you mean. You have the Remus/Tonks one too (so cute ) so if you put another couple in then it would probably overload the book with so much love Voldemort might just cry.
It would be nice to see them together though... the last scene in HBP where Luna helps Neville into his chair is sooo cute! There are hints that it could happen but in the context of the book I doubt it.

Yeah I agree they are very cute and I'd love to see 'em together, but it's not gonna happen. Though maybe in the epiloge(sp), if there is one, Jo'll mention them and maybe they could possibly be in a relationship. Though I love all the love, and Jo will do it to please the extreme shippers.

It would be nice to know in the Epilogue if Luna/Neville happens in the future. Luna and Neville move into a nice cottage in the country where they run the thriving quibbler magazine and have beautiful little children. It would be a nice ending but not every story as a fairytale ending and there will probably not be one for Luna and Neville.
If there were enough shippers then maybe she would but there arent quite as Ron/Hermy which has like billions!

OMG! Neville and Luna are absolutley perfect for each other. I just love this pairing. Two 'loonies' in love.
I'd just love these two to be together. But, I don't think Jo will make them be together. Over at the Neville/Luna section over at the Seven Seas, someone read an interview with Jo in it saying the Neville and Luna won't be a pair. It probably was just a rumor. So, I'm keeping my Neville/Luna pride going!

I really dislike the idea of Neville and Luna together; as does J.K. Rowling. She's said it herself.

I mean just because people are outcast or what you will, doesn't mean they would be great together. Simply put, they are friends. Nothing more, nothing less.

If Luna had to be with anyone-- it should be Harry! But that's just my opinion... opposites do attract--- hahaha. But I know there is no evidence to support that ship-- I just like it.

Alot of people though think that every Harry Potter character should have someone, i think that would be silly.

I'm toatally a L\N shipper! I think the last part in HBP was cute too! I read that part tons of times! It would be great to see the 2 of the together!

luna and neville would be so adorable. i mean they are both odd, and they don't fit in well. So they would be the perfect match of love.

it would be lovely to see luna and neville together because they are so cute together but i do agree with what everyone else says but i am hoping that luna and neville do get together cause they would make a lovely couple

Yeah. I just love the Neville/Luna pairing. They're my favorite pair and I don't want 'em to be just friends. I want them to be more than that. Thank goodness for Fan Fiction!
They probably won't be a pair, simply because Jo doesn't think that they're a good couple. She probably thinks Neville more like brother and sister type of thing than anything.
But, I still will be a Neville/Luna shipper no matter what!

I love Luna/Neville, but there are some times when I just want them to remain friends. I personally wouldn't mind eather way, since their not my strongest ship.

However, I can imagine a time where Luna and Neville get married, have children who are great at Herbology and read the Quibbler, and have the strangest life imaginable. Strange in a good way, not bad.

I really think ther only close friends even tho there is a strong conection still think there only friends but if they do hook up i think it would be a bit weird yet wicked at the same time coz it would be different. there both probly wouldnt recgonise wat they have like there friendship between them. so i think that they do have the courage to love one an other but havent recgonised it if people get wat i mean......

I think that they could be together, but it's just a little to perfect like I said earlier. Unfortunately they won't ever be together, at least not in Jo's writing. Like Clumsy said earlier that's what FF are for.

But I do wonder if not Neville who would Luna get together with?

Luna/Neville isnt likely to happen but what do people think of their friendship? Is it going to last through the next book or will something happen that might break them appart?

I seem to disagree with everyone in our club, unfortunately. I see Luna as being too unique and special for any one person - at least for right now. In the future, who knows? Maybe she'll be five times married with twenty kids.

But I doubt it would be Neville, and I agree with Jo that it could never happen. Jo's also said flat out that Luna/Neville won't happen. I say thank god, because I am still reeling with the horror that is Lupin/Tonks.

Yeah. They would be a very cute couple. But, if it works out, it does. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

Yes they would be the cutest couple. Total opposites. Yin and Yang. Light and Dark. Or maybe they aren't complete opposites, but their cuteness is only matched by Tonks/Lupin

I wouldnt say they were total opposites but they do have some opposite stuff between them.

She doesn't totally seem like the loner type. The only reason she was all alone in the 5th book was because they thought she was wierd, but later in that chapter we see that she has a great sense of humor and likes company so I believe she will end up with someone eventually
