Default Library Bookshelves

Tall bookshelves are scattered throughout the library, the smooth wood gleaming brightly in the sun that shines in through the stained glass windows. Tens of thousands of books rest upon the shelves, all waiting to be explored by eager minds. They stretch along the walls, filling each shelf and dark corner. A catalogue system has been put in place to ensure that finding and retrieving a book becomes a simple task, for the sheer amount of books can be overwhelming, particularly to the youngest of students.

At the end of the first few bookshelves in the front of the library sits a pedestal. An open book with a soft golden light emitting from it, has been placed upon the pedestal. As you approach the book, you hear a rustling and then a gentle pop. “Come closer, come closer. Don’t be afraid.” A jolly voice speaks.

When you finally do peek into the pages of a book, an elderly gentleman peers out at you, one hand rising to adjust his spectacles. “Now. What book is it that you seek? I can give you a general location or a more specific one if you know the exact title of the book.”

Once you speak your request, the man ponders for a few moments before scribbling on a piece of parchment. Squinting at what he has written, he looks back up and smiles, before speaking the location of the book. “Happy reading!” He exclaims before settling back down into a still flat image.

OOC: Please note that the jolly man is for entertainment purposes only. I will not be RPing him each time a student approaches asking for a book.

The library was not one of Willow's favourite places around school. It was perhaps the least favourite after the grounds, to be perfectly honest. The library, the place were all the books were kept was probably the only place of Hogwarts that the young Ravenclaw had not missed during her not so joyful time at Belle's. Stupid Belle's.

However, her father knowing how Willow's love for books --unlike the rest of the Ravenclaw population-- was incredibly and unbelievable slim, had requested (please note the sarcasm) to read one book per month, and then send him a summary of it. According to her old man, this would help the soon to be fifteen year old girl to like them. Snort. On Willow's opinion, naturally, her father's words regarding this had been nothing more but a huge pile of rubbish.

But it was not like Willow would ignore one of her father's commands. Like the chicken she was, Willow obeyed him pretty much all the time. There were always exceptions, of course; Quidditch being one of those.

And so Willow wandered aimlessly around the library, looking for a book that might actually catch her interest.

History? Eeeh--no. Why would she read a book about History if she was part of Professor Lainey's History of Magic class, eh?

Muggle History? No, sir.

Muggles? Nope, nope, nope.

Novels? Eww. Romance.

... This was bound to take a while.

Books; mountains beyond mountains of shelves filled with books. Somehow Dominic had wondered away onto the fourth floor and into the most pleasant of all places... the library. Which was definitely NOT the Hufflepuff Common Room. Merlin; Hogwarts was huge and it was a wonder he waited so long to go to school.

Nonetheless, his mother told him that he should investigate the library and read more rather than spending his time outside doing rubbish things. Not sure what was rubbish according to her, but it most definitely included quidditch and other sports. Things that he had vague interests in; moreso than books at least. Ugh.

But at least it was quiet and there were no wailing fangirls at his side. No girls at all really. Until...

Mystery girl? Blinking a few times to adjust his eyesight he was quite sure that it was her. Weird considering the last place he had seen her was in Flourish and Blotts, when she confessed her dislike for books. Ha! Knew she was lying!

Quietly, the thirteen year old approached the girl cautiously. "Mystery girl?" Surely she would recognize him or that name, right?

Stupid books. There were just too many of them, and so little time to actually find out what they were all about. Stupid things. And now that she thought about it, this place was so quite.. It was almost eerie. Libraries could be intimidating sometimes; hence why she hardly visited them.

Some Ravenclaw this one was.

Blinking at a rather tall bookshelf in front of her, Willow slightly shivered under her robes. Mind you, Willow was not exactly a big fan of noise, but a bunch of teenagers running around and screaming like beasts, would come very handy right now. The School library was quiet. Much too quiet. The silence was beginning to scare her a bit.

Perhaps it was time for Willow to take off, and look for a much more crowded place.

Aahhh, were where all the teenagers when you needed them, eh? Willow was sure that madame Kohan would not appreciate to have some noise on her little peaceful and quiet library, though. She didn't care much, anyway.

They were no loud teenagers, however, and to be honest, the fourteen year old was too much of a chicken to a spend any other second on this eerie place. Yup, she was definitely going to leave.

... Or maybe not.

Blinking her fores green eyes at the somehow familiar voice that had no doubt addressed to her, for one, there was no one else around, and two, only one single person had referred to her as Mystery girl. Well, two, but she would have recognized that voice.

Snapping her head towards the direction where the voice had come from, the girl titled her head to one side as her eyebrows pulled together deep in thought. Curiosity was written all over her face.

"I know you." It was not a question, but a statement. Conveniently, she ignored his 'mystery girl' comment; she would remain as Mystery Girl for now.

Watching the mystery girl was surprisingly amusing. Well compared to searching for a book to read it was; in actuality, this girl was almost as challenging as attempting to read a book. Quiet, reserved, and all together quite complex and difficult. Different from most other girls; like super hyper Hailey, Blushing Christine, or Clumsy Crystal. Mystery girl was truly like a mystery book; one that would be most challenging to put together.

Like a jigsaw puzzle.

Dominic blinked as he saw her shiver, which confused him slightly but he just remained rooted on the spot. No need to move and startle her more than she was. That was when she turned as though ready to leave the library, but stopped at his sight. Or maybe his words. And there he saw it; that jigsaw puzzle look on her face. Her face - one piece to the gigantic puzzle of Mystery girl.

"Do you?" he raised one brow cautiously at her. After all, he didn't recall any exchange of names taking place at Flourish and Blotts. Not as if many people knew him.

Perhaps staying a little longer in the library was not a complete bad idea, or waste of time. It was not like she had homework to catch up with, or anything. Besiiiides--weird and sarcastic boy from Flourish and Blotts was anything but boring; a little annoying with all his staring that day, maybe, but not boring. She could always, eh, what was the term? Mingle? Snort. Yeah, because Willow loved doing that.

... Not.

Chat. Chatting sounded much better. Though now that she ponder this word, chatting was something the girl only did with her closest friends. And this boy was not one of her closest friends. She didn't even know him. In fact, for all Willow knew, he could easily be a stalker.

He didn't look like a stalker, though. Hmm. He just looked like a typical boy. Even a little bit interesting. Then again, weren't reserved people always interesting? He sure seemed to be the reserved type.

Willow eyed him quickly. Yes, definitely reserved; he didn't look like the chatty and overly outgoing type.

"I believe so," replied Willow calmly, brushing her bangs out of her face in one swift movement. Stupid bangs. She should not have gotten them. "Though now I think about it, we didn't exactly have a proper conversation back then, or anything." Lightly, she shrugged. "So I guess we don't."

Focusing only on the mystery book before him was the best option; especially with bookshelves surrounding the two young students, it was quite frightening. Dominic would have hated to been here alone, even if he was with someone that he hardly knew. Except for the fact that they shared a dislike for books. They were quiet and reserved - even remotely interesting. Not like he was missing classes or anything; as if he would care if he did.

He sighed, studying the girl's expressions and attempting to read her. Or at least figure out what she was thinking about him. Probably about the need to wonder far far away from him... and to never look back... To.. wait? Why was he wondering about what she thought of him!? He could careless if she thought he was a psychopath, a weirdo, or even just a plain student? And if she thought the latter, then clearly she had more issues to worry about than him.

Dominic was quite mused by mystery girl and her comments. It was true; they never did have a proper conversation. "No, I don't believe we do. Unless your name is really Mystery Girl?" he asked, raising one brow at her.

The way this boy looking at her made Willow feel... self-conscious. Almost uncomfortable, but not quite. All in all, the way the Hufflepuff in front of her was staring, was practically as if he were trying to listen to her thoughts. Haha. As if. Willow didn't do much talking--unless someone got on her nerves, which let's face it, happened often.

The sigh that escaped from did not went unnoticed by Willow, for as soon as she saw this, her eyes flickered to his face, and studied his expression intently, her head, once again, tilted to one side; something that Willow often did when curious or deep in thought. It was hard to tell which one the two was, for her expression had not changed in the slightest. Unless of course, someone counted the way her forest green eyes had narrowed in the slightest.

Well--whatever it was that was going on inside of him, was some sort of internal battle, Willow decided. The look on his face told the girl that much. "You are not the chatty type, are you?" mused Willow, as the hint of a snicker dangle on the corner of her lips.

"My name shall remain a mystery for now," answered the girl, full snicker on her lips now. Haha. This was fun. Kind of. It was better than wander around the library, at least. "What about you? Do you have a name?"

The library. Probably the most magical place of Howgarts, well at leats for Mari it was. Mountains over mountains of amazing books, all full of stories awating to be discover. It had been quite a pretty long day and the library was the perfect place to relax, maybe sit down in a far corner of the huge room and read. God it felt good to say it. At Belles she had not touch a book trying to settle a peaceful fight over the separation, now she was eager to get anythign to read.

Mari walked around the shelves looking for something that would get her attention. She wanted something simple, maybe even funny. weird, she thought chuckling at the idea of wanting to read something funny. She was mesmerised my the huge amount of books that could be read. So many, so litle time.

Next week.

Next week.

NEXT WEEK!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!

Quidditch tryouts were so SOON! Next week - why, that was practically tomorrow in Pretzel Years! And Punz needed to do some serious planning and plotting....like now.

What better place to seek sport strategies than a library, huh? Surely there were thousands of books on Quidditch here. And Rapunzel was going to find them - well, maybe not all of them, but a good amount, sure.

She strolled through the shelves, searching for the sports section. Charms.....no thanks....Fire Spells...maaaaybe...Mysteries...naaah... but ah! Quidditch! Punz stopped scanning the shelves and stared at one she'd come to - or rather, who was standing in front of it.

UGH. It was that absolutely detestable Ravenclaw witch...and That Boy From the Feast? Odddd couple.

"Well well well. Kovac," Rapunzel muttered, automatically crossing her arms in front of her. What else could she do, eh? The girl was in her way....

Default angie and captn superpretzel!!!! xD

The constant gazing at each other was a history repeat of what happened back at Flourish and Blotts. It was one that was making even Dominic slightly nervous and caused him to glance downwards at his feet. His mystery book was quite the puzzle, especially as she studied him. Tilting her head as though trying to read him even more, which was just... maddening. The only thing he noticed was the way she narrowed her eyes at him, as though reading him even moreso than before.

That was when she spoke finally and stated quite the obvious. "I could say the same for you, which I think makes you Mysteriously Obvious," Dominic snickered back.

Hmm, so she didn't like to reveal her name? Interesting. "My name shall be revealed in due time, Mystery girl," he replied back, mischievous glint shining in his topaz eyes.

Until... another girl entered the scene; one whom seemed to have quite the disgusted look on her face when it came to facing Mystery Girl. Weird; what could one honestly have against a girl so quiet and mysterious?

And... oooh that was the hyper butter girl from the feast! Well, that would explain it. Complete opposites it seemed. Covic? Was that her name? Interesting first name, but hey it was better than nothing.

No matter though... this girl was interrupting his time solving the mystery and it would not be underestimated. "Can we help you with something? Good. Byeeeee" he snapped at the hyper blond girl, oblivious to the captain badge.

Freya walked into the library, possibly one of the most wonderful places she had visited so far in the school. Thousands of books seemed to be calling to her, but now was not the time, she was here for research.
Freya made her way through the tall bookshelves, knowing exactly what she was looking for, any herbology book she could find. Spotting a couple she reached up and easily retrieved them, then placed them on the small table behind her and flipped through them, 'Shoot...not in either one of these.' she said quietly to herself. Freya placed the books back on the shelves and continued her search. She desperately wanted to find what she was searching for...even the slightest mention of it would be wonderful, but an actual photo would be even better. All she wanted to know was if she had found something new or not, and with each large book she pulled from the shelves, she became more excited, perhaps she had indeed found something unique...unheard of. But one could only hope.

Forest green eyes set on the male standing in front of her, still trying to analize him without having to say a word. What a weird boy, this one was. Though when the fourteen year old thought of him as weird, it was in a good way. Weird in a good way... Hmmm.

The curious and thoughtfull expression on Willow's naturally pale face, dissappeared, leaving space for a scowl. That voice... That particular voice... Willow forced her memory to momentarily erase all the events that had taken place in the Courtyard the previous term. Closing her forest green eyes for a second, just as she allowed herself to take a deep steady breath.

Opening her eyes at last, the young Ravenclaw allowed a smirk to spread all across her lips. All trace of the scowl gone.

Stupid Rapunzel. Who did she think she was to speak to her using that tone, eh? Did she actually thought that because that badge was pinned on her robes, Willow would actually be civil towards her. Snort. In her dreams, only.

Oh, yes. Willow's eyes had not failed to notice the captain badge on the Badger's clothes.

"Black," aknowledged Willow icily, still sporting that smirk. Ahh, how she detested that girl. Rapunzel Black was the most obnoxious and ridiculous human being Willow had ever had the misfortune to meet. Stupidly, she had given herself false hopes of never seen this one ever again--but of course her luck wasn't that good. "Did you have fun at Saint Mungo's this summer?" Inquired Willow innocently. "Because you did visit that place the summer, yes? Because if you didn't... " Her head shook faking dissapointment. "Bipolar is something that needs to be treated by a professional, you know?"

Mwahaha.

Turning back to face the male, Willow shrugged lightly again. "Well, I don't think being a mystery is such a bad thing, you know? I believe it's more interesting, you see."

Hearing the snarky little comment the boy offered to Rapunzel, Willow actually chuckled in delight. Ahh, she liked this boy already.

He was right, though; She should leave, for what the fourteen year old could tell by the look on the boy's face, he was not pleased to see Rapunzel there, either.

"And you say I have an anti-social disorder." She pointed out easily. "At least the members of my own house don't go around telling me get out of a certain place." Smirk smirk, smirky smirk.

Default For the Rudelings - PLURAL! ;0

Still standing there, glaring, with her arms tightly crossed, Rapunzel's green eyes flickered from That Boy to Rude Girl. And just her luck....he was flirting with her!

Ewww ewww and gross, Punz thought, rolling her eyes as a slight sigh escaped her lips. So he's trying to be a wisecracker to me. Humph. I can handle them....er...both.

"Yeah, kid, you could help me with something," Rapunzel answered him, flicking her thumb over her shoulder in a 'get lost' movement. "Move your big, book-blocking bum."

If only it were that simple....because alas, Ice Queen Meanie Face was still standing there...taunting Punz. Hoo girl, she is ASKING for it! But, I am too good to stoop to her stoopid level....

Rapunzel relvolved on the spot, turning slowly from the rude kid to the rude girl. "Why yes, I did enjoy visiting St. Mungo's....although the instant I arrived, oddly enough, they couldn't find a thing wrong with me," she said in the sweetest sarcastic voice she could muster. "And when I asked for your room number...they said the Anti-Social Brats were kept in the locked ward...since they are highly dangerous and unstable, you know...."

She trailed off with a fake sigh. "Shame, I was so looking forward to seeing you behind bars.....where you belong." Punz smirked right back at the Ravenclaw. Why she was starting to enjoy all the rudeness in the air and hardly even noticed Willow point out That Boy....again.

"What now? Are you sure he's a Hufflepuff...?" Rapunzel raised a blond eyebrow, trying to maintain her cool. She was surprised though, to be treated as such by a fellow Puff!

"Oh right - him," she recovered with a quick head-to-toe scan of the boy. "No matter....it's not like he's a Quidditch player...I mean, that would be such a shameful thing to say to one's own captain....especially with tryouts just around the corner...." Rapunzel shook her head gently from side to side, subconsciously toying with her badge as she did so. "Tsk. Tsk."

Dominic's light topaz eyes flickered between hyper girl and mystery girl, noticing the tension between the two of them. It was interesting observing their conversation and from what he could tell, they weren't exactly on friendly terms. In fact, in even with his naive social skills, he was quite sure they were hardly acquaintances but perhaps cell mates would be more appropriate.

Lost in his thoughts of the two apparent cell mates, Dominic almost missed mystery girl's comment towards him. "Oh yes, I couldn't agree with you more. Mysteries are quite intriguing because you never know what to expect."

Hearing a delightful chuckle caused Dominic to shoot a look of confusion at Mystery Girl. Ah she must have enjoyed telling the hyper girl to go away. But it wasn't out of dislike as more for the sake of she was interrupting them. He scratched his head in confusion when she then pointed out something of members of her own house telling others to get out.

Meh?! Was hyper girl in his house?

That was when she spoke to him and told HIM to move! Oh no siree, he was not moving!! "Kid?" Dominic blinked sharply at the girl. What was it with people calling him kid or child? And this time it was by another student. "I ain't moving as I was here first. If you have a problem, then you leave!"

That was when she said something to mystery girl that caught his attention. Are you sure he's a Hufflepuff...? Sighing, Dominic finally looked over at hyper girl's robes and then he saw it. The blaring captain badge pinned right near the Hufflepuff emblem.

EEK! He was doomed and now he was never going to make the team or hit bludgers at people!

He bit his lower lip, narrowing his eyes at her. Should he mention the fact that he signed up for tryouts? Nah. Surprises were way more fun! "You're right... not like I'm a Quidditch player" yet ... he grimaced at her, but still wanted her to leave... she was interrupting his mystery story!

Lisa walks into the library, this was one of her favourite places in Hogwarts. She loved books so much, she wondered what sort of books were in this library. She walked close to the shelves and paused each time she came to something interesting. She found a book about Herbology and took it out. She walks to one of the sofas and sat down to read her book.

And there Willow had been thinking this would be such a good. How wrong she had been.

Oh, wasn't Rapunzel a very vocal one? Using such horrendous words as butt in public. That was indeed very nice and girly. Not. Then again, why was she so surprised by this? It was Rapunzel. And some would say that the badge pinned on her robes would force her to be good sample for the rest of the Hogwarts Population. Snort. And to think Black had called her rude before... Who was being rude now, eh? Apart the strange boy in front of her, that is. And, uh, well--she was being a bit rude, too. But Rapunzel had totally asked for it by showing up.

Rapunzel's sole presence was motive enough to be rude.

Cocking a skepticall eyebrow at Rapunzel's reply, Willow rolled her eyes, and faked to be yawning in boredom just as the Hufflepuff captain ranted about her visit to Saint Mungo's, and anti-socials disorder. "Are you done with your extensive and incredibly incoherent rant? Good. Now, get lost. My time is precious, and trust me, Rapunzel Black, I do not wish to waste it with people as yourself," answered Willow using the same tone of voice that someone would use when discussing the weather.

Behind bars? Willow? HA! Only on her dreams, of course. If any of them would end up behind bars would be Rapunzel, and not her. Her abnormal mental state would someday lead her to commit assassination, no doubt about that. "Whatever you say, Rapunzel," the girl said dissmissively. "I would take that as an insult if it would have come from someone who's mental health I cannot question, you see." Snickering again, she grabbed one strand of dark hair and started to play with it, curling it with one slender finger.

Her forest green eyes set on weird and sarcastic boy, just as one eyebrow raised at him delicately. Of course he would be upset for Rapunzel's 'kid' comment. All men disliked to be called kids/boys. Even Willow, who was someone that had no experience dealing with them, knew that. Rapunzel would not, of course; she was not normal, after all.

"I agree," She said with a nod towards the boy. Well, they might as well continue with their conversation. Maybe that way Rapunzel would realize she was interrupting. Yeah, right. She was not smart enough to get that, of course. "If they were not intriguing, they would not be fun."

"You don't play Quidditch?" the Ravenclaw asked with a hint of curiosity. "How so? Too cool for you, or something?" She chuckled at this. Maybe he was too scared to get on a broom. That's why he wasn't a Quidditch Player, probably.

Ugh. The Rude Children (or Rudelings, as she was thinking of them) just wouldn't stop, would they? And what could Rapunzel do but retaliate! It was just that simple. Simple logic.

"Okay, little boy," Rapunzel spat, her eyes narrowing her eyes at the kid. "I would be more than happy to leave you and your little flirtfriend, here," her eyes flickered to Wi
