The crickets were lively tonight, and their songs carried on the warm summer air. The sky was clear, and the moon cast enough light to see, even under the shadows of the trees.

She turned over, again, in the bed and groaned softly.
"What's wrong?" He asked, looking over to her. "Nothing." She said, settling on her other side, "Cramps, that's all...I hate this bed." They both chuckled before she winced. "Are you sure you're all right?" He asked, concerned, turning his head over to her. "Yeah." Turning once more, Tonks relaxed on her right side, her back to him, "Thanks." She soon fell asleap, as did he.

He was awakened, hours later, by his wife's quiet moans. He sat up a bit and placed a hand on her shoulder, "Tonks?" She replied with a "Hmm?" and gasped as she tried to sit up, clutching her stomach. "Oh, god." Remus said breathlessly, as he leapt up and turned on a lamp.

The dim light flooded the bedroom and he looked to her. "Tonks?" She merely puffed twice and groaned softly--she had gone into labor in the dead of night and not said anything. He took her hand in his, "I'm going to contact the others. I'll be right back, okay?" She nodded and looked to him. He kissed her hand and rushed into the kitchen, scribbled down three seperate letters, each saying the same, that Tonks was in labor and they would be off soon. He sent them right away, and quickly came back to her.

She had propped herself up better, her head back, one hand on her stomach. "Tonks?" He took her free hand and tried to help her up. The other hand on her back, they stood together in the middle of the room, "Ready?" He said, looking to her. She nodded, moaning once, and they dissapparated.

Long time no write, eh?


Sirius, Ginny, Ron, Harry, Hermione and Sierra lastly burst through the two silver doors at the end of the hall, making Remus jump. They all began talking to him at once, coming up to him.
"Where is She?"
"Is she okay?"
"Where's the baby?"
"How long has it been?"

Sierra in her quiet, caring ways, came up to him and patted his shoulder, "You okay?"

"Yeah, Yeah..." He said, lying. She smiled sadly. Sirius smiled wholeheartedly, though. "Way to go, Moony." He clapped him on the back. Both ginny and Hermione were jumping and were barely containing their squeals of excitement. "Aurthur and Molly send their congrats." said Harry, taking a seat next to the wall.

Remus continued to pace, while the rest of them took their seats patiently. They all jumped, several minutes later, as they heard a shreik that was distinctly Nymphadora. Lupin, as pale as he was already, turned ever whiter as he looked to the doors that were not four feet away from him. On the other side, he knew, was his wife, who needed him. Yet he stood there, bland as milk, and merely swallowed hard.

Remus eventually sat down between Sierra and Sirius, both of whom tried to calm him. He leapt up again, though, as a nurse exited and beckoned him to follow her back inside. The others seated there sat up straight, Hermione and Ginny taking each other's hands and smiling, as Lupin nervously followed her.

Lupin winced again, slightly, as Tonks squeesed his hand tighter, cutting off the blood circulation. She looked over to him, "Thank you" she gasped, smiling a little. He smiled back at her and pushed aside her hair, currently dark pink, "I love you." He said quietly. Tonks suddenly sat up (as far as she could) and gasped loudly, clinging to Remus' hand for dear life. He bit his lip in an effort to not yell out in pain and squeesed her hand back--his way of giving her support.

She leaned back again and shut her eyes, breathing heavily. It had been four hours since they had gotten here, Remus growing more nervous every moment, he sensed that something must be wrong, something that wasn't supposed to be. Her hand relaxed in his a bit, and he looked up. Her eyes were shut and her jaw was clenched. He put his free hand on her head and stroked her gently.

Tonks looked over to him again, as if to check to see if he was still there, "You don't have to s-stay you know..." Lupin shook his head, "I need to stay." Nymphadora was comforted by his decision and was glad he was there. Outside, they both knew, that the others must've been eating themselves with exitement. The seconds passed like hours, the minutes passed like years, and all were nervous.



Short, yeah.
