Isha Marshal was clearly in a very dour mood. The taste of her second helping of chocolate-encrusted vanilla was still fresh in her mouth as she stormed into the well-spaced, wooden room she was often found occupying and slammed a fist, hard, on to the corner table. The blue-eyed young woman seated behind it looked up, blinking in astonishment.

“Ish?”

Isha shot her a look. “You said Sirius Black would be easy to get, Sandra!”

The woman named Sandra blinked, her face blank. “But, Isha, you said you wanted to marry into a high family.”

Isha snorted. “So you told me to stalk Sirius Black? You said he was a piece of cake!”

Sandra raised an eyebrow. “So?”

“You fool, he’s in love with some idiotic muggle girl he met the day he arrived.”

Sandra gaped at her friend, apparently astounded. “What? Isha, I’m sorry, but how was I supposed to know that? You asked rich, pureblood, handsome. I told you a name. That was my job, wasn’t it? You said you knew how to handle guys. I don’t even know where this conversation is going.”

Isha groaned, dropping down heavily into the seat facing Sandra. “Do something now, Michael.”

Sandra glared. “You know my first name.”

“I don’t plan on using it anymore!”

Sandra stood up, an air of finality in her action. “We’ve been room-mates for two years now, and this is getting annoying. All you can think of is finding someone who’s everything you want. Well, it’s not my job to find you a husband. What happened to Devan? To Neil? To -”

“Devan was a mudblood; Neil went bankrupt. It’s not my fault!” Isha spat.

“Well, it’s not my fault either,” Sandra snapped back. “No one told me Black was already in love when I told you to go for him.”

“You’re making me sick.”

“So are you.”

For several moments, only heavy breathing could be heard throughout the room. Up above, an expensive-looking fan spun quietly round but, apart from that, naught moved. Then Isha spoke up.

“This girl –” she said, her air that of a defeated arguer. “He doesn’t even know where she lives. He was supposed to meet her somewhere, he didn’t, couldn’t, whatever. You think I can get her out of his mind?”

Sandra frowned, clearly thinking. “Maybe.”

Isha brought her hand to her forehead, anxious. “As long as he doesn’t run into her –”

Sandra looked up at her. “What if he does?”

Isha scowled. “I’ll make sure he doesn’t. No one will get to ruin this, when I half have it made. And no more outings for us, muggle-fashion.”

“No more chocolate sundaes, you mean?” Sandra’s voice was mischievous.

Isha’s face broke into a smile. “Exactly.”

See, I kind of admire Isha here...I think it's cool that she has standards, and even though sometimes she doesn't...approach the situation in the right way, she still DOES have standards, and she knows what she wants, and I admire that.

“Pascal?”

The girl at the table looked up, clearly startled. She had been resting her head against the side wall only a few moments ago, lost deep in thought. Her aunt’s voice had evidently jerked her out of her own, distant world.

“Yes, aunt?”

“You’re thinking about that awful boy you met again, aren’t you?” Mrs. Henry’s voice was stern.

Pascal shook her head so quickly, the action came out as good as a confession. Mrs. Henry heaved a sigh, wrapping an arm around her as she sat down.

“How many times have I told you not to talk to strangers?” Her voice was a little softer now, but Pascal knew that she was still not happy with what she had done.

“I’m sorry,” she mumbled quietly.

Mrs. Henry shook her head sadly. “That isn’t going to be of any use, honey. The world isn’t as kind as you think it is. You shouldn’t expect –”

“I’ve learnt not to expect anything, OKAY.” Pascal’s voice was so sharp, her aunt looked taken aback. Maybe she realized that Pascal wasn’t in a mood good enough to permit any bossing around, or maybe she realized that she could not get Pascal to stop thinking of ‘that awful boy’ no matter how hard she tried but, whatever the reason, she decided to withdraw for the moment.

“I think I’ll make you some tea.” Getting up, she left the room without another word.

Pascal slammed the door shut as soon as she was out of sight and earshot, throwing a blanket over herself as she got into bed. As if any tea in the world could set things right for her, again.

I promise, Pascal.

Like everyone else, he had been a liar, and she had fallen for his trick. All he had to do was to put on a fake expression, a fake accent, fake moves – she could not believe she had let him make a place in her heart and that, too, in just one, silly, pointless meeting.

An involuntary tear rolled down her cheek. Hastily wiping it away, Pascal rolled on to her side, burying her face in her soon-wet pillow.

lol Yes! Everything is fine! it's just the loads of school work I've got but everything's okay thanks for worrying love
